Service was alright, weren't very attentive. The fish and chips were decent, the fries were a bit too oily. The clam chowder was good, the sourdough bread bowl was made with a softer style of sourdough instead of the crustier kind. They have a small outdoor seating area as well as booths inside.

Service was great! The ambiance is very Pismo, beach cafe-Eskimo. And the clam chowder was great!

We really like Brad's. A few days ago on our visit, Brooke was our server. She was fantastic! Service with a smile. We always sit out on the patio. The food is always good and served quickly.

This is our 2nd time here. Our first was over 10 years ago and now we're back to celebrate my husband's birthday. We ordered the same as what we ordered 10 years ago. 4 pcs Fish and Chips and BBQ Beef Ribs. Our server which I forgot to asked her name was really nice. I highly recommend this place, and it's just a half block from our hotel Beach House Inn. Seated at the patio table .

Original staple in Pismo Beach. Always fantastic Service. Great beach breeze and ambiance. Food is delicious. My favorite go to is the Shrimp & Crab Louie. It abounds with seafood. Yum!!! The fish and chips is fantastic too. Chowder? Why yes. Visit Brads for the food, great service and Pismo nostalgia. You'll be glad you did.

A must stop for us when along the Central Coast. Among the Pismo Beach competitors for Best Clam Chowder", Brad's wins my vote year after year. I cannot resist their sourdough bread bowl with chowder. SO MANY clams and not a too thick or watery base - perfect! Hubs likes their generous and perfectly cooked burgers and we both enjoy their French fries! If BBQ is your jam, come to BRAD'S! 6 days a week during summer and weekends throughout the year, check out the crew flamin' it up as you walk by their oak pit and seated outdoor patio area. Skewers of delicious shrimp, succulent ribs and regional favorite, Santa Maria style tri tip are H-O-T T-O G-O! Chuckle at tourists waiting in line elsewhere to stand and eat clam chowder whilst you stretch out and relax in your comfortable, air conditioned booth. The family refurbished the restaurant a couple of years back and it's beautiful. Brad's has been lovingly cared for and closely watched over by the same family since 1953. Not fancy, but homey and friendly. Although I DO miss the Trivial Pursuit cards at the tables! iykyk Oh! And fish and chips???? Heck yah! Brad's got you covered! Want a tip: if you're over 55 and looking for a "simple taste of Brad's", go with the Sr. Traveler's Special (or what I call Evie's deal), my mom used to look forward to arriving in Pismo, getting settled, the walking to Brad's for a bowl of clam chowder, some nice French bread and a glass of wine. Thanks to Brad's family for keeping this special corner of Pismo so lovely, delicious and a spot where we know we will enjoy filling our bellies! Cheers! "CC"

I honestly was surprised by everything I tried. I had the pork rib, beef ribs and chicken plate and it was seasoned to perfection. Clam Chowder was amaaazinnnggg. I will definitely be back to hang with BRAD.

This was very unfortunate. I love seafood and eat it everywhere (San Francisco restaurants are a high favorite). Sadly, I ordered this dish and it was really bad. The gravy looking sauce or soup was not appetizing at all, and it is the first time I've ever seen a sauce like this in seafood; it doesn't work. This dish lacks seasoning completely. I had to put salt and pepper and lemon just to get taste out of the fish, shrimp, and scallops. The picture is after I stopped eating. I feel like I might get sick. Really unfortunate that I spent so much money on this dish. Would never have it again.

Ordered the crab & shrimp Louie. Grey egg, week-old onions, and grey crab. Completely disgusting. Never again.

While splashes line was around the corner per usual, I knew brads could save the day ;) after all this is my pick between the two anyway! No wait to sit for 2, got walked straight to a booth and after 2 minutes had our drinks AND food order in! Very speedy which was perfect because we just had a 2 1/2 hour car ride with no bfast As I was typing this our food arrived literally that was the fastest service ever! The clam chowder is seriously so flavorful and the sourdough bread is the perfect pair, bread doesn't get terribly soggy so its longevity in the bowl is great! The broth to the soup was excellent and I topped it with hot sauce to make it even better! I definitely give this my recommendation for clam chowder in Pismo!

My family and I were looking for different types of food as most wanted BBQ and another wanted seafood. We ended up at Brad's as we were walking down by the pier and noticed some grilling with a sign that says they grill with an Oak Pit. I pulled up the menu online and also saw that they had seafood. We walked in about an hour before closing and were immediately greeted and seated. There were seats available indoors and on the patio but we settled with the indoor seats. We liked the different menu options but decided on all grilled items: marinated tri-tip, tri-tip sandwich, salmon and a grilled chicken avocado sandwich. The tri-tip had the marinated flavor but my son is used to smoked tri-tip but this one is grilled. He didn't love it but was impressed with the portion size. I loved my grilled chicken sandwich as the portion was generous and could taste the oak flavor in the chicken. The salmon was good and the tri-tip sandwich was OK. The one thing here is that the BBQ items come with beans and your choice of salad or fries. There are no side upgrades so if you want vegetables you will be charged the full price for the veggies plus you will get the sides that come with the meal. We were pleased with the service as it didn't take long to order, receive the food or check out. This is a good location close to the pier. 3.5 stars!

We came for the Traveler's Special (including a bowl of clam chowder, bread with butter, and a glass of house wine) and it did not disappoint!! The clam chowder was DELISH, and so creamy. Pro-tip: add hot sauce to your chowder, and get a second pad of butter in case you're butter lovers like us! We sat outside in the beautiful sun, under the table umbrellas. Our server was super nice, and everyone working there was friendly and helpful.

The oysters were incredibly sweet and creamy, the octopus was perfectly tender without being chewy, and the Kurobuta pork chop was cooked to perfection, juicy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. We also brought our own wine, and the $20 per bottle corkage fee was very reasonable. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was an unusual odor. We couldn't tell if it was because of the older building near the ocean or something from the kitchen. It seemed to disappear once we were seated, but we noticed it again when walking toward the restrooms. It didn't ruin our evening, but it was something that stood out. Service was a little mixed. My husband has a dairy allergy, so he began by asking what came with the Kurobuta pork chop and which of the sides contained dairy. The server seemed hesitant and mentioned that the chef doesn't like to change his menu, even though my husband hadn't asked for any substitutions. After some back-and-forth, the server suggested placing the pork chop on a separate plate from the sides, which was what my husband had been trying to ask for all along. Most restaurants are quick to suggest simple ways to accommodate food allergies, so the interaction felt more complicated than it needed to be. That said, the food itself was very good. The Beef Tataki was one of my favorite dishes of the evening--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Everything we ordered was well executed, but dessert ended up stealing the show. The Loft Brownie was absolutely delicious, and my niece and I loved every bite. My husband was equally excited that they offered a dairy-free chocolate ice cream, which he really enjoyed. Overall, I can see why Oyster Loft is recommended for seafood, but for us it didn't quite live up to the hype. With so many wonderful restaurants in Pismo Beach still on our list to try, I don't think we'll be making a return visit any time soon.

Note that the parking lot, depending on which day you go, can fill up very quickly. The location is right off of the 101 and easy to find. We checked in and was seated within 10 minutes at a booth that overlooked the beautiful views of the Pismo Beach coast line. Our server, a younger black woman, who told us her nickname was 'TiTi', if I'm not mistaken, was wonderful. Her personality and hospitality was infectious and exceeded 5 stars. She brought us fresh hot corn and flour tortillas with a small cup of brown sugar butter and three different salsas to try. Everything was delicious. We ordered the surf and turf special which was a jumbo shrimp on top of a filet mignon that rested on mash potatoes and a creamy/savory white sauce. We also ordered the lobster Mac and cheese. Everything was exceptionally good. My only takeaway would be that I found the food, especially the lobster Mac and cheese to be pretty salty. Definitely excited for my next visit.

We had a reservation for a birthday dinner and arrived about 30 minutes early. We were told we'd be seated closer to our reservation time, which was completely understandable. However, as we waited, we watched several groups (including walk-ins without reservations) get seated before us. Even after our reservation time had passed, we had to check in with the host again before we were finally seated, despite there being plenty of empty tables. The service at the front definitely could have been handled better. The food, on the other hand, was very good with a great variety of options. I loved that they start you off with freshly made tortillas, cinnamon butter, and salsa to share. I ordered the Campechana de Mariscos, which was fresh, generously portioned, and perfect for sharing. We also had the Molcajete, and it was delicious! It came with a great mix of steak, chicken, chorizo, jumbo shrimp, nopal, and cheese. The portion was generous and easily enough for two people. Other dishes we ordered also included the pozole, chicken nachos, and lobster mac and cheese. Everything was delicious as well! The mac and cheese especially. For drinks, I tried the Golden Hour nonalcoholic cocktail, and unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it. It tasted like watered-down ginger beer with no carbonation and only the faintest hint of pineapple. It was more on the bitter taste. Overall, this is a great restaurant for the ocean views and flavorful food. The portions are generous, and there's something for everyone on the menu. The only downside was the host service and the unnecessary wait despite having a reservation. I'd still come back for the food and the scenery.

Our first visit on our impromptu getaway from out of state, and we arrived at about 11 o'clock, as they were opening for the day. We were seated at the best table in the house in my opinion, overlooking the ocean in the middle of these gorgeous scenic windows. I ordered the oysters Rockefeller and was served delicious fresh baked, sourdough rolls and butter just prior, so the appetizer potion was amazing. I highly recommend the oysters Rockefeller, the best I've had. Plenty of juice to sop up with your dinner rolls. The tangy garlic, Parmesan and wine flavor blended well with the large fresh oysters. I received about six or seven oysters with my meal so it was a great deal at 25.00.. Next, I opted for the crab and shrimp pasta and it was fabulous. Plenty of crab meat and perfectly seasoned large jumbo prawns. After this fabulous meal, we walked around and savored the great experience. Because we had such an amazing experience at lunch. We decided to head back for dinner that evening since it was so close. Without a reservation, we were faced with having to wait over an hour for a table, not really sure why because we saw at least five tables, two near the window, open and unoccupied for the entire time we dined at the bar area. When we first entered the bar seating area, we selected a small table off to the right, but not up against the wall as there were a table of six women, and one male already there enjoying their meal. As soon as we sat down, the ladies were so loud, and in my opinion, obnoxious, that we had to move to the bar seating at the other end. I'm a little surprised that somebody didn't go over and ask them to please hold it down. They happened to be up against the wall so the boisterous outbursts of laughter, much of which was feigned, by a few of them bounced off the wall at an ear piercing level, agitating other diners as well. They too left. Moving was a good choice because the bartender was fabulous. He really knew his stuff. Great personality as well. Very focused and efficient and ran the bar like a champ. Again we received the delicious sourdough bread and this time I ordered the jumbo prawns and scallops in lobster risotto. It was truly the best I'd had. It was now one of my favorite meals of all time. My wife enjoyed the coconut prawns special with sweet chili dip. Amazing. We ordered two lemon drop martinis again, perfectly mixed and presented. The whole meal came to about $124. Not bad for an amazing dinner for two on the water in a wonderful place. I give this place five stars because it was really no reason to subtract anything.
