The guys here have zero customer service. No personality what so ever. I was going to get my brake changed but changed my mind mostly because of how dull and arrogant the guys here are, especially the heavier set one with glasses. It would have been nice to give me an estimate time when I first inquired on the service. I showed concern about the length of time to work on my vehicle and to TRY and make small talk explained I am working on a research and I'm pushing deadline he just ignored me, terrible customer relation. I called to see if my fiancé was able to get my fiancé pick me up so I am not stuck for 2 hours here but I changed my mind when I asked about the price and his response was just so arrogant. So here's my rant, to the front desk guys at brake master Norco, you have zero reason to be arrogant. I'm sorry I am not a professional with brakes, I have more to life to chase after.. such as my doctorate degree.. do not try to be condescending to any customer please and try to rip them off that way. Get over yourselves guys, you don't even do the real job you just sit at the front desk pretending you're important. You work at brake master, you're not special or above anybody. Just because I'm a female and play dumb I am not ignorant about vehicles and repair, and something so simple as BRAKES. Shout Out and Thank you For Norco Brake Masters, Have a 1974 VW Bug Standard,From Germany ,was Brought over From Germany by a Military Family member. went to change the rear Brakes and wouldn't you know it the Axle nut was Torqued by the Military Before shipment ,To the USA .So when trying to Remove the Axle nuts they were not removable,who figured and couldn't ask the prior owner they have Passed.after several attempts and busted knuckles Ect and fail attempts with normal means like a breaker bar and an Axle Meister tool it was not Budging .Called and spoke to Oscar at Brake masters ,said come down and bet he could ,break it free ,after his several attempts and an hour later he had them removed ,Come to find out they were on with 800 lbs pressure so no normal human could use any simple ways or means .He was very Nice and when the work was done he charged a very cheap Reasonable amount of only ,$40 for an hour of literally his sweat . Will only Recommend Brake masters to anyone who wants to be #1 treated right #2 and fair and reasonable .Thank You again Brake Masters and Oscar Your # 1. read more

Had to take truck back 6 different times to try and fix my brakes. Cost way more than it should as they chased the problem. Eventually had to take it to the Ford dealer to fix the ABS sensor that they put in wrong. Steer clear of this place. read more

This place robbed us blind. I had used BrakeMasters in Northridge about 10 years ago and was happy which is why I chose to go to them, but this is not the place to go. They charged me $496 for a master cylinder and a booster. Parts should have cost us $200 total, but they said they bought them in a "package deal." Rip Off! Then we paid the amount, got in the car (mind you after the guy test drove it to check the brakes) and I immediately noticed a huge difference. I couldn't accelerate! Made the mistake of getting on the freeway and couldn't get up past 45mph. WTF?! Totally endangered my life and everyone around me. The manager only said something to me after he heard me talking about how we got ripped off (a master cylinder for my car is $124.00). Did he offer to give me a refund? No. Go next door. Those guys give you honest prices and you can tell the mechanic works his tail off to please his customers. Funny, even my bank thought this was fraudulent activity! read more

Watching him as well as listening to him interact with the customers made me feel al lot better when making my decision to get my brakes done here. Women BEWARE!!!!! I've gone to this exact place time and time again for only basic oil changes and have had no problems. Last Nov I went in saying I needed an oil change and perhaps new brakes on my 08 4Runner, so the guy says ok then comes back and informs me my brakes are at 80% (ok good) then he says but if you are having problems then its probably your transmission... (F that!) So now its ready for another oil change, I go in at 430pm on a Monday and the guy tells me "sorry we don't have time for that "small" of a job" Ok no problem, Now I return on Wednesday morning 3/27/2013 and asked for an oil change, they took my car right away. The guy at the desk returns and tells me; " well it looks like we have an issue.... 'ok, what is it?'...... You have a broken strut in left front wheel and a broken shock in right rear..... 'and how much is that'...... well, how much do you got? And you might as well replace all 4 and that's going to run you about $700 and with that you are going to need an alignment for $70 plus tax and IF you don't you are going to need all new tires as well...'ok thank you but just an oil change'....ma'am it will only take a few hours...no just go ahead and put what I need in writing with your price, thank you Now im upset so I take it to the Toyota dealership telling them what I was told, and the Dealership said " Ma'am your car is completely fine, nothings broken or worn down, your right side tire pressure was off but that's about it...." So thank you Brake Masters for trying to swindle $800 from me but I didn't take the bait! NOW do you not look like jerks but you have 100% lost my business!! read more

Worst place ever!!! Came in for a quick lug nut fix (thanks to American tire! Who broke it off before thy asked me) immediately tried to sell me a new battery! $$$ Get a alignment! $$$ and thn tell me my rack and pinion is bad! $$$ my trucks only has 40,000 miles on it! Came here for a wheel alignment because I was referred by a tire shop. I called before I went and they told me that the rack was empty and that they would be able to get my car aligned quick. I got there within 10 minutes and the guy said that his mechanic just took a job and that it would be a couple of hours before he can get to my car. He sent me to Riverside and said they would be able to get it done. Long story short, they did the alignment but one of my control arms was broken so they shouldnt have done the alignment. I was told by them that I have 3 months warranty on the alignment and that I can just go to any brake masters to get it done. I went and got the control arm fixed and called Norco brake masters and asked if I can come in to get it realigned and they said I would have to pay again since work was done on the car, even though I asked them before and they said they would realign it without a problem. These guys are con artists and there is a reason why they have such terrible reviews. Save your money and go somewhere with better reviews. read more

If I could give brake masters a -5 I would, worst experience they tried to rip me off. I was referred to bring my car to brake masters I was going in for an oil change and to have a brake fluid warning light inspected. After they had had the car in for about 20 minutes they called me over saying that the front and rear control arm were broken and needed to be repaired now, that my brakes were metal on metal and had to be replaced. I told them I had a headlight out and needed a new bulb, they said I needed a headlight assembly, that my alignment was completely out and there were other things. I have a normal mechanic I take the car to but he is an hour drive away so I thought i would try someone new. I said I would just get the oil change and have my mechanic repair all of these issues. They were like well it needs to be done, I told them I understand and would take it to him, if the car was not drivable I would have it towed to my guy. They released the car. I just heard from my mechanic about what the car really needed...first off our car does not even have rear control arm, front were not broken, just needed a new headlight not a assembly, rear brakes were not inspected by Brake Masters at all and are not metal on metal and have a good year left on them. The only thing they were close on at all was the rear brake alignment was a little out. I list that brake masters said would be a minimum of $1300 was $350 at my mechanic. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO BRAKE MASTERS UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SCAMMED!!! I do not know if this was because I was a women or just wanting money but they have made it sure I never go there again and I have called the company that referred us to tell them about what happened. read more

Had my brakes done here on Tuesday for $600. On Wednesday drove less than 25 miles and my brake light and ABS light came on on my dash. Went back to them to see what the problem was. Was told mechanically all was ok, that it was a sensor problem. They replaced the sensor and it did not correct the problem. Was told it was a computor problem and they couldn't access the computor with their tools. WTF here I spent $600 and now I have to go to a dealer to get the other brake issue resolved. read more

I have used brake masters in the past but when my husband told me he knew of someone that could do my oil change and breaks super cheap I thought if I could save a little money why not.I knew in the back of my mind I was probably going to regret it. Well I did. I called and spoke to Jose and he said bring right over and we will take a look. Not only did I have the wrong break pads but they never turned the rotors like they said they did. Jose not only got my car in right away but made me feel better about the "bad" decision I had made. I had wonderful service in the past and even better service this time around. Started coming here after I was referred to brake masters by an America's Tires employee to fix a seized lug nut. I have never felt taken advantage of because I am a woman (LOLing at these other reviews who claim they were!), in fact, they have always been more than happy to answer all my questions and explain the repairs to me in a way that I understand, and they always help me prioritize the work that needs to be done so it's budget friendly. Oscar helped me today - he "remembered" me right away. Well, I thought he did, it turned out he looked up my license plate number through the window while he was helping me LOL but it felt good to be on a first name basis with him, and it gave me a good laugh! I went in for an oil change, it's not an express service but worth the extra couple minutes - I feel like I get better quality work, plus Oscar likes to play Harry Potter so you get some good entertainment while you wait. Oscar listened to my concerns about a couple other things: tire wear, oil pressure lights, coolant messages, and he looked into all of them for me! And guess what: absolutely no "upselling". It turns out my coolant is somewhat low and there may be a sensor issue (nothing critical) I can look into, and my car only had 1 of 5qts of oil left, so he told me how to check my oil at least once a week to make sure it's not leaking or burning.. he also reminded me to actually get my oil done regularly since I have a high mileage car. I will be back to have my transmission serviced the next time I have my oil changed, thanks Oscar!! read more

it's amazing what front desk people have to put up with for instance when you read ff j review how is it brake masters problem that this customer has a deadline on "homework". the fact that this customer has to be rude in the rant call people "heavy set" shows me the kind of character this person really is, get off your high horse, nobody is above anybody for the type of jobs they have if you ask me this person is arrogant and needs to be considerate of other people's feelings. people work to feed their family pay bills pay rent trying to make a living etc, not to feel important let's get that straight. i feel sorry for the brake masters employees that have to go through these customers type of behavior. the manager adrian has been respectful and courteous to me as a customer and i've been dealing with him for year's read more

Went to Brake Masters in Norco, CA. what an experience. I came in for an alignment with a ($20 off for alignment) coupon. The guy at the counter said the coupon will take care of all 4 wheels at the price of $49.95 (regular was $69.95). He also said the newer cars MAY need a steering reset for an additional $30 (I'm not complaining about this price. but I think an alignment is an alignment and the steering reset should be included). OK..... when I got my car back, the fee was $20 more than I expected. I was charged for the alignment at a different price (now he said the price was $89.95 with the discount I'll be paying $69.95). I got this lame excuse that he told me all 4 tires was extra, that's why I asked in the beginning how much will all 4 tires be... I asked for my $20 because i believe that I was misinformed. This guy started to tell me that I was ripping him off and I am wrong and he was right. How humiliating it was, I felt embarrassed but kept my ground because I knew I was right. He went on for another 10 minutes on how right he was while working on getting my money back. Really 10 minutes. Poor customer service! I will never let this happen to me because I will never go to Brake Masters again. read more

We've taken several cars here over a period of many years, had work done several times. I've always been happy with the service. Maybe I could go somewhere else and get the work done for less, but I trust these guys. That matters to me. Price only matters if I trust the work. These are brakes and other important stuff after all. It's important to have it done right. The guys always explain in detail what needs to be done and show me the parts, the car is usually up on the rack so I can see for myself what the problem is. They are supposed to make recommendations, that doesn't mean that everything has to be done NOW. Just ask, they'll tell you. Worse case scenario, I can always get a second opinion for major work from my regular mechanic if need be. Some other posters who complain about getting ripped could do the same thing. My daughter took one of the cars there recently as the car needed an oil change. I had no idea that Brake Masters even did that. She said that she called around getting prices and that Brake Masters was the least expensive for our car. She might have had a coupon. They've always done right by us, so we'll stick with Brake Masters in Norco. read more
