Idk bro. They were super nice to me and the service was quick and friendly but I got a second opinion when they quoted me $1900... and I got it fixed for $960. I understand this is a business but also, people can barely afford rent and food right now... why are you guys charging so much? I was stuck in a bind for trying to get the cost of repair covered by another facility that was going to reimburse for the repairs (only up to a certain cost), but Sid went above and beyond in helping me. Daniel got me in right away (I called about my a/c not cooling). I called about 10 minutes out and they literally got my car in to the garage in like 5 minutes. I thought I just needed Freon but wasn't sure seeing I just got the car and refilled my truck once before but not on the new car. They were super friendly and prompt. They could have done the $900 and I would have been none the wiser. They went through our rough-running car and figured out the last mechanics put the wrong size plugs in. So they replaced them. And charged a fair price. We had an AC compressor replaced-and it failed a few days later. They got in and replaced it fast no charge. Even helped figure out an odd electrical issue. This place recently opened on a vacant lot near a wash. The lot was better off vacant. These people guess at how to fix a car, and charge you money for their mistakes. I paid them $300 to "try some things" in their words to eliminate a vacuum leak causing check engine light on a 2004 V8 sedan. In the course of this they told me to buy a EGR valve for another $300. None of this cured the trouble and their next idea was to try a $430 gasket job with no guarantees. I stopped hemorrhaging cash at this point and ended up getting rid of the car. I will not take any car I own to this place for anything based on what I would call fraudulent business practices designed to rob me of money and give me back nothing of value. read more

My daughter went to this establishment to the oil changed in her vehicle today. As a Dad and a mechanic it pains me to have her go somewhere besides my shop. As she is in college several thousand miles from home she had to have it done locally. I'm a trusting person and like to believe that all shops treat customers like I do in my shop. This was not the case at Brake Masters #228. They first took advantage of her by insisting she use synthetic oil. This was not necessary for her car and was more expensive. They then proceeded to pressure her into getting fluids flushed and air filters changed. They also told her to rotate her tires. Any mechanic worth their salt would have noticed that the front tires were new and did not need to be rotated! Same with the filters. They did all this while using sexest terms to her like "sweetheart " and "honey". Long story short what should have been $24.00 was ran up to over a $100! Disgraceful! My daughter has reduced hours at her job due to Covid so money is tight. IF YOU ARE FEMALE DON'T GO TO BRAKE MASTERS STORE #228! IF YOU ARE A FATHER THAT CARES DON'T SEND YOUR KIDS THERE EITHER! Worst auto shop I've been too, went in with my car not knowing really what was wrong with it hoping they could help, they ended up charging me over 1,600 for a new egr valve that my car did not even need, then went back because it did not fix the problem for them to tell me I need a new engine for 22,000 which my car isn't even worth that much, I will definitely not be going back here. read more

Walked in and the rep was nice and friendly. I got a phone call from one of their mechanics letting me know my breaks might need replacing & if I wanted him to change them. I nicely declined and asked he only perform the oil change only. He was nice and said my car would be ready in 30min. When I return to pick up my car, the reps attitude changed dramatically. He right away asked who does my car's maintenance & made a comment about how it's " so weird" that I only do the oils changes with them & yet " oil change " in not even their company name. I also had a coupon that I showed him and he brushed it off telling me he had already given me the $10 off for being a returning client. As I write this review a message pops up asking me to keep in mind that during COVID 19 employees are doing as best they can, but does Brake Masters know that clients are also suffering the same pandemic? I mean, I'm sorry that I only had enough money to get an oil change and that the service is NOT your company name. This is my first bad experience with this company & honestly I don't think it's the company, it was the service. I will return to Brake Masters, JUST NOT this location.
