I've been, "was" a customer for over 20 plus years. Up until the 2/21/22, I was extremely satisfied with Brakes Plus. However on this date, I had my oil changed and within three days, started experiencing engine lag, loss of power. After taking vehicle back to Brakes Plus, they recommended that I take my vehicle to a dealership. It took the dealership a few days, but they were able to find the issue. Someone contaminated the brake system by pouring engine oil into the brake reservoir, creating a $5100 repair that Brakes Plus will not take responsibility for. When confronted with pictures and documentation of dealership findings, I asked manager if the tech that worked on my vehicle was in shop to give his take on what happened with my vehicle. Maybe just a coincidence, but the tech is no longer with Brakes Plus. However, Brakes Plus ensures that tech wasn't disgruntled, nor was he fired. Without going into further details, I'm wanting to know if anyone else has run into this type of issue at Brakes Plus. Thanks. read more

Highly recommended for your vehicle needs! The manager *I forgot his name* was so accommodating. He helped us as soon as we arrived there. When we are paying he even gave us a 15% discount. The people there are professionals and they were friendly. Felt like we were home. And as soon as we drove our car it was so smooth! Like it was new! My dad brought his 4runner here for a basic oil change. They gave him an invoice for all the things he had to do to the car which amounted to over $1,000 including changing shocks and suspensions for no reason. We took the car to our mechanic and he said there was nothing wrong. Don't trust this place and always get a second opinion when it comes to car repair. read more

This location once was great and we took our vehicles here often. Now I call about an estimate to get a power steering pump and pressure line replaced. Nope, I was told that I cannot do that on the phone and have to come in for a free inspection first. If I want specifically a power steering pump and hose, what do you need me to waste my time with an inspection for? Needless to say I went elsewhere that was happy to install this for me on top of installing the parts I purchased myself. I have never heard of anyone refusing to give an estimate for specific items over the phone till now. The other company also got my business for a fuel pump replacement and also axle seal replacement. I wasnt about to even ask Brakes Plus for pricing since I am sure I would be denied the same estimates for those. read more

We were referred to brakes plus by the discount tire across the parking lot after they damaged some wheel studs. The "mechanic" shop could not figure out how to remove the wheels( which had just been installed by the business next to them). Instead of trying to figure out a solution, they elected to send a youth home 45 miles on the highway with only 3 of 5 lug nuts installed in one wheel and 1 missing from each of 2 additional wheels because they couldn't figure out how to remove lug nuts Consciously putting a youth in a situation that is not only illegal, but very likely could result in an young man being involved in a very serious accident most likely causing death. When contacted the following day, the manager was one of the rudest, selfish individuals I have ever dealt with. He did make one valid point. In his words,"why would you want us to do the work now knowing we don't know how to". I would believe that in order to install brakes, one would need to know how to remove the wheel. I'm curious how many other individuals or families they put at risk not knowing how to do their job. Trusting this company with anything that would have to do with the safe function of a vehicle would be dangerous. Our next phone call will be to their insurance carrier to see how many times they have risked the safety of their customers. read more

They tried to charge me $300 to replace a part (master cylinder) that only needed to be cleaned. The guy even said he took it apart and didn't find anything wrong with it. I took it to a friend of mine and he couldn't even get the pistons to come out of it because it was so dirty. Once he cleaned it up, my brakes worked like a dream again. I can't believe I went to this place. p.s. The part costs about $25 at auto parts stores. read more

Took my car in for rear brakes. Had a coupon for "premium" brake job which INCLUDED pads, labor, and resurfacing rotors. Original coupon was for about $129.00. I came out with a bill for $290.00 !!! They charged me extra for "on car" resurfacing and some little clips which I found out later were $5.00 each at the dealer or in come cases actually come with new sets of pads. They also said that the car was "overdue" an oil change. I had actually just had the oil changed at the dealer within 500 miles ago! This is what they do at this location. Don't trust these people!!! Discount Tire right next door recommends these shysters for alignments. I've told Discount what Brakes Plus did to me and they profusely apologized. read more

1 star is more credit than these people deserve. I brought my car here originally for an all wheel alignment after replacing tie rod ends and got the car back experiencing instability and rear end pulling to the right. They have a 3 month warranty so i brought it back. The looked at it again and adjusted it for free which is great but i got it back even worse than it was before. Steering wheel not aligned. Front wheels go left when the wheel is straight. Right rear wheel was toed out to the point of prematurely wearing out the inside of the tire. Being the third time there I Asked for a refund within the three month warranty and the manager tried to deny me that until i asked to speak with the district manager. If i wasn't mechanically inclined enough to notice my car's odd behavior over snow, dirt, and hard cornering (which it didn't do before the alignment even with bad tie rods and ball joints) I would have ended up needing to buy 4 new tires and pay for ANOTHER alignment somewhere else. Find a reputable mechanic and don't bother with these chains that'll hire any fool off the street. They'll end up costing you more time and money than they're worth. read more

Terrible!! Appointments mean nothing, it took me 3 hours to get an alignment with an appointment! I had replaced the rack and pinion on my truck and the tie rods. I took it in to get it aligned. (Granted the steering wheel was hard left to drive straight, because it had gotten moved during the rack and pinion replacement) I asked them to leave the steering wheel hard left when they aligned it, and explained I would fix it later. I just didn't want the tires wearing bad. The tech came out and said the spring in my steering wheel was off so they couldn't do the service, ( there is no spring in the steering wheel!!!) I told them to do it anyway. They straightened out my steering wheel and aligned it there by running one tie rod all the way in and the other all the way out. Not only could I not turn right because of this but I could have very well broken a tie rod and been in a serious accident! DO NOT GO HERE!!! I would trust Walmart over these guys!!! read more

Can i give less than zero stars for this business. i was there on 04/25/2016 to fix my door's handle and also the power steering oil leakage. First of all they didn't do there job right. they just use the old parts and charge me for new parts even after paying $907.00 it is not working properly. i get back to let them check again they were like we install the new parts on your handle so will takes some weeks to work. Are you fucking kidding with me?? secondly they used same old Power steering parts coz i can easily notice the parts which was already in my car. They are thief to steal your money. they created another problem in my car as well i can hear a freaking weird noise and i told them about that they were like its just miner it is not gonna affect anything. Are you there to fix or created others problems on the car. this is totally horrible customer service. i would never suggest anything to visit this brakes Plus on tower Road. if you could not give customer satisfaction just close the store. read more
