Pros: The price menu is clearly printed and a clean waiting room Cons: very disappointed to find out they lied about complementary services on the receipt. - I waited for an unusually long time for an oil change, because the mechanics admitted that they almost lost my car key. - Then, my receipt says that they top off my windshield fluid as a courtesy due to the long wait time. After about 2 weeks on the road, I was surprised to see no reaction when I pull the wiper handle. I found out that my windshield fluid tank is bone dry. I had my wiper motors go out for a second time on my escape i know its the product ford uses. I had it go out in 2022 and just now 2026. Brakes plus fixed it the first time so i went back i knew what the problem was and Joe the mechanic that fixed it the first time was there also. However the new management insisted on doing a diagnostic and more or less refused to do service unless i did a diagnostic for $90 of course they didn't tell me that until I had already left so i had to agree and of course there was no additional problem however the delay meant parts were not ordered early enough to get the job done the same day. I also had bought a windshield wiper for the drivers side because i could tell it was worn out and asked if they could install as long as it was there and i said drivers side only. I knew the other wiper needed to be replaced but I was going to do one and then the other. They ended up replacing the other wiper "because I needed it" and they "thought I understood" well i only paid $28 for the one I bought and they charged me $89 for the one they installed. Since i had 1 they should know i knew where to get them. I am short so i have to use a footstool to reach them and was just going to do one at a time on my own. That's almost $200.00 dollars i could have saved. The work they did was good as always is and the location is close enough for me. I don't know if it was because i was a girl or old that they did what they thought was good for me. I called another shop I use and their prices were a little bit lower. I would have gone there if it wasn't raining and farther away but they have had to diagnose other issues and they just include the time in labor costs. read more

I came in for squeaky brakes and was told the rear brakes needed replacing. They assured me the rotors could be resurfaced, but weeks later the squeaking returned, rust inside the rotors showed they hadn't done a proper inspection. After spending $400, I was quoted $250 for new rotors, then suddenly told it would actually be $350 because the first quote "wouldn't fit." Their mistakes cost me extra, and the service was careless and frustrating. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

I want to go have service performed on my car I made an appointment in advance and when I got there I was told that I would still have to drop my car off and leave it until the evening time or the next day for simply an oil change and a tune-up I explained to them that I had an appointment and was watching the walkthroughs go through but was told that it didn't matter if I had an appointment or not that that was just there situation they had too many people there and I would have to drop my car off the girl at the desk was rude unhelpful and what's the point of making an appointment if I still have to be placed at the end of the line as if I was a walkthrough it makes no sense to me I thought appointments had priority I thought appointments were supposed to be seen at their appointment time or at least close to not have to wait till the next business day to get service especially when I explained before making the appointment that I needed the vehicle to be going out of town with not only did y'all delay me and set me back it was just the worst experience ever and I won't be using your services in the future thank you anyways have a blessed day read more

I'm not one to usually leave reviews, but I feel I need to share my experience. A few weeks ago, I came in because I was hearing squeaking sounds that I thought were coming from my rear brakes. I was told a full brake inspection would be conducted, and they found that the rear brakes needed replacement. I asked if the rotors were in good condition or could be resurfaced, and they assured me that, given the mileage, they could be resurfaced. Fast forward a few weeks, and the squeaking returned. It turns out they hadn't done a full inspection after all, and there was rust inside the rotors. Walter quoted $250 for new rotors and I agreed to replace them. Then, Patrick came back and said the rotors they quoted me wouldn't fit my vehicle. Shortly after, he told me the correct rotors would cost $350, and there was nothing they could do. After already spending $400 on the rear brake job, to be told there was nothing they could do when they were the ones who gave me the initial quote was incredibly frustrating This place is an absolute joke, and I would not recommend it to anyone! read more

Nick and Demaul were exceptionally helpful and friendly and truly went above and beyond to ensure I got the best price and knew exactly what was going on with my vehicle. I took my car in because it was shaking when I was breaking. I had already taken my car to be inspected about a month prior and was told I needed new brakes and rotors. When I went in, I did let them know that I was told I needed them replaced and they suggested full brake inspection. After the inspection, they had found a long list of things that were wrong and concerning about my car, such as complete strut assembly and replacement in the front, cv assembly, and the axel was apparently off balanced, stabilizer bar links and more. Was quoted almost 3k. I was really surprised that there were this many issues so I called my brother and he told me it was a fair price for the work and parts but also suggested to get a second opinion so I went to his mechanic in Addison and they were so honest and reliable. They told me I indeed did not need a complete strut assembly, stabilizer bars, nor a new axel. They literally cut my price in half and were very honest about what needed to be done. I will never be returning to brakes plus. They were friendly, but I experienced a major lack of integrity. read more

I would avoid this business at any cost. I don't typically leave reviews, particularly negative ones, but this place definitely deserved one. I went in for an oil change and to have my brakes checked (they advertised it as a free service with an oil change). I had my car fully serviced six months prior but I decided to have the brakes checked since they offered it for free. I did not tell them that I recently had the car fully serviced. Following the oil change and brake check, the technician met with me and told me that my brake pads were at 3mm and recommended having them replaced immediately. He also told me my rotors needed to be replaced. He quoted me just under $1000 and said that the brake situation was urgent and wouldn't recommend waiting to get them replaced. I was surprised at the situation and declined to get the work done. He offered to "work with me if it's a price issue". I told him I didn't expect anything would be wrong and declined to have the service done. I immediately scheduled a brake evaluation with my brand dealership to have my brakes checked to see if they found the same issue. I thought a second opinion would be best. After my appointment with the dealership they told me my rear brake pads were at 5mm and found no issue with my rotor. They recommended a maintenance appointment in 6-12 months, nothing more. If you come to this business for maintenance be cautious. The free brake inspection they offer is clearly a scheme to upsell you on issues you likely do not have with your car. If you do decide to get a quote from them I would highly recommend a second opinion, most dealerships will perform and inspection for free and it might save you thousands of $$$! read more

The first impression was great but then I was told different prices the following day they opened to look at my vehicle. I had to continuously had to call to check on my car. When I did, the first price given was $570 for a hose and water pump, which I had a warranty for the pump, but when I called back I was then quoted $1100. No way in heck that make sense. I'm was told if I provided the parts it would be more expensive...doesn't seem logical at all. NEVER NEVER EVER EVER NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE. I went to the North Central Expressway Location this afternoon, July 31, 2023, at about 3:35P.M. I had already had my auto diagnosed by three other shops as muffler issues. I walked into this shop and requested a price on repair or replacement which ever was needed . I requested that they place it on the lift and look at the muffler and I stated this request to them in person, exactly as I am stating here. They took the keys and went to the auto which was driving fine, except for the loud muffler sounds. The manager, a rude person, got into my 1995 Honda V6Accord and began "gunning, gunning, gunning" the motor with the excellerator petal as hard as he could. When he finally stopped "gunning" the auto would not start again. He came to me, after I watched and heard what he had done to my auto. He had the gaul to tell me that something had to have been wrong with the engine prior to my arriving and that the engine was now blown and I would need to replace it. When I suggested that he fix it, he looked at me like I was crazy and that he had no responsibility to repair the auto. I am 73 years old, a senior woman. This is my only auto and he has ruined the auto and refuses to repair. I had to call a cab home and I have no auto and it was 106 degrees today. Additionally, I called his regional manager for the corporate company Brakes Plus, who does not answer the phone in Colorado, and the regional manager was even more rude than the manager at the North Central Expressway shop was. The regional manager told me that he was going to have my auto towed to the City Pound and that the charges would begin tonight. This location is the old Ken's Muffler's. I have been a loyal customer here for many many year and they always guaranteed their work. I have spent thousands of dollars with them and was always happy w the work. I drive a Honda CRV. I replaced my alternator about a year ago and it went out recently so took it back when I learned Brakes Plus had purchased the business. They indicated they would stand behind prior repairs on a case by case basis. They decided not to stand behind my prior repair so I spent $1100 replacing my alternator and a fan. Incidentally the alternator repair was $200 more than than last year. Ken's Muffler's also replaced my entire A/C system last summer and I started having trouble w it last week. Took it in Monday and at first they weren't able to find anything wrong and called me to pick up. Then called me right back and said they found something. Recommended to replace entire A/C system at $2,000 which is considerably more than I paid last summer. I declined the work. They said they had a payment plan but I'll pass doing business here again. read more

Hi, I'm here to leave a review about Sebastian, Joe, and James. I have an old 2004 ford that I've taken to 6 different mechanics, including the Ford dealership, because I've had consistent brake issues where my brakes are slow to respond and act, especially at freeway speeds. A lot of diagnostic fees and money later, every mechanic I've been to that has inspected my car told me that my brakes were perfectly fine or misdiagnosed the issue. I brought my car to Brakes Plus and Sebastian was a pleasure to work with from my first phone call to the shop. They thoroughly inspected my car free of charge and were able to pinpoint the root causes. I'm unable to review the final status of the repairs as I have not been able to test drive my car, so I will update this review once I am able to confirm the quality of the repairs. Joe inspected my car and went above and beyond in his work. He was personable, honest, and knew exactly what he was doing. He has been the most capable mechanic I've dealt with thus far. Sebastian really worked with me on the cost of the repairs and went out of his way to provide the best customer service. He was also very transparent when he found out that an expensive part of the repairs was no longer needed while they were working on my car. I really appreciated that a lot and it speaks volumes about the integrity of their work. He's been great at keeping me updated on all the moving parts, as well as ensuring that I'm taken care of. Definitely ask for Sebastian when you go in! I believe James is the one who worked on my car and I can't comment on the outcome of that yet, but he was very nice and helpful for the brief time I spoke with him.
