They've taken care of us for years with the small stuff (regular oil changes) and the big stuff, like timing belt replacements and more. We had an issue with a new car we bought and they were able to pinpoint the problem, and show us that the repair work the dealership said they had done, was not done at all. Without them, we'd never have known the dealership had not done the repairs and we were able to force the dealership to fix the vehicle and cover the costs. I found this place when Discount Tire referred me there for an alignment. Best referral ever, they did a great job on my car. I now come here for all my car service needs. They are honest and they don't try to sell you on services you don't need. Their prices are very reasonable and there is no pressure into getting any work done that you don't want. I was totally unhappy with my experience. I wasn't quite sure what was going on with my car so I decided I'd spend the extra cash to get it fixed in a shop instead of free labor from a mechanic friend. I did my search via google and was recommended to check this place out. I called them on Friday, told them about the symptoms to my car and suggested, it may just be a sensor to get my transmission and radiator flush, but I have no idea (based on my reading, I thought it was the CVT light that was going off). The general manager on the phone was so pleasant. He assured me that he could check out the light on my car and I went forward to drop off the car the following day. The next morning, I woke up early to beat the rush, around 9 or 10am, because I know that some garages get super busy. I showed up and the garage was completely empty, no customers waiting. I approached the man behind the counter, told him I had an appointment and what my symptoms were. Once I mentioned the CVT light, he said "oh you need to take that to a transmission shop". I was so flabbergasted that he wasn't even willing to look or diagnose my car! I took my business to Eagle Transmission. They replaced my faulty thermostat (which apparently my car has two). I hope Brakes Plus does a good job with replacing brakes or other, easier, repairs because based on my experience, they didn't even want my business. read more

Brakes Plus in Rowlett was one of the most pleasant experiences I've ever had when getting things done on my car. I knew something was wrong with my brakes when they were squealing every time I stepped on them. I had originally taken my car to NTB and they quoted me an astronomical amount just to get the front and rear pads replaced. I took my car to Brakes Plus and they said they would look at to even make sure pads was what it was. Turns out it was pads that I needed, and they worked with me until it was a price I was comfortable with. Everyone was so kind and honest. I'll never go to another place again! read more

Brought my Tundra in for brakes. First time for me to let anyone work on my vehicles. I'm 50+ and been working on cars since I was 15. I knew I had a pulse in my front rotors so they would need to be turned. They showed me a torn boot on the piston. Time to rebuild the caliber. They informed me that rebuild kits were no longer made for my truck, really?? I'm not that stupid. They said I would need new calibers at $180 a piece. I said I don't think so. A rebuild kit from Toyota(the most expensive) is $11. Tundra calibers are the same from 2007-2015. They lied straight to my face. They said they would not do the rear brakes since I was not willing to pay for new calibers in the front. I made them put all the brakes back together and left. I really feel sorry for anybody that goes in and does not know anything about cars. I quite certain not many leave for $85 an axle. Total sham. read more

Took my car in for an alignment and fuel injection service, they were great, checking any available coupons or deals to help with the price. After I picked up my car, the vehicle shut down while driving. I called the shop and they sent a tow truck and an employee to me immediately. While I wasn't ecstatic about that occurring, I was very pleased with their customer service to remedy the situation. I would definitely take my car back. read more

Went to get a Oil Change and was quoted over 2000.00 in other repairs.Told i wouldn't make it far with my brakes.3000 miles later breaks still fine.These guysa didn't even put a sticker on window to inform me of next oil change and also put one of my tires on backwards.Will never go there again. read more

My husband and I use Brakes Plus for all our oil changes and routine maintenance. They are always friendly, helpful, and smiling! My car started overheating, so I took it in for them to take a look. They confirmed the problem, but couldn't fix it, and gave me a recommendation for what to do next. They didn't want to troubleshoot and possibly run up a big bill for nothing. I was blown away by their honesty and empathy. They even asked me to follow back up with them when I knew what the fix would be. These are great guys! read more

I would not recommend this place to anyone. Besides doing unauthorized work on my car, and over charging for that labor, they also left behind a considerable amount of grease all over the interior of my car. Please do not use their services for your own good. read more

These guys are awful! I came in at 8 and was told it would be 2.5 hours to replace a sheared wheel stud. I asked why so long and was told that there were many people in front of me. So I made an appointment for later in the day. When I came back I was told that it would be a 2.5 hour wait. So I said, why so long?. I was told by the manager there were people in front of me (1 guy in the waiting room and 2 empty bays). I was upset so I said angrily "what was the point of the appointment?" And I was told to "Stop screaming" I said "first of all, I'm Italian so you have yet to hear screaming, and, tell me, DO YOU ASK YOUR ANGRY MALE CUSTOMERS TO STOP SCREAMING, because I doubt if you ever have. So they said they wouldn't work on my car and I said I would be stupid to LET them work on my car. BTW I'm getting the work done now at another shop, about a 40 minute job, so either these guys are also liars about how long it takes or don't know how to take a brake assembly apart (they said that's what they had to do to fix it) Either way, STAY AWAY! read more

After putting new tires on my car, went to Brakes Plus in Rowlett for a wheel alignment. It had been 40,000 miles since my last alignment, so I just figured it would be a good idea to get it done again to protect my new tires. I was very surprised to find out that my alignment was just fine and that there was no charge for the check up! I have gone to Brakes Plus for the last few years and will continue to do so. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE! Brakes Plus was recommended by Discount Tire for an alignment on our Chevy Tahoe. We took it in, only to be told that we needed about $1500 more in work and that they were going to do a "toe in" on the vehicle. We declined the additional work and told them to proceed with the toe in. As soon as we picked up the vehicle and drove it home, a loud popping sound a squeaking sound, and a grinding sound all started. The further we drove, the louder it got. It literally felt as though the wheels were going to fall off of the vehicle. We called Brakes Plus and were told the sound was normal and the truck would "settle in." That made no sense. We called back again as it became worse and we were directed to bring the vehicle back in. Not trusting anything these guys said at this point, we called another mechanic, loaded up the truck on a trailer and took it to a qualified shop. Now the entire rear end assembly has to be replaced. We are at almost a week with no vehicle and so far $2000 in the hole! Don't mess with these guys! read more
