Each had a different entrée. The meals had a nice selection of breads with some focaccia style which was my favorite all were warm and crusty. The food was all served hot and timely. Dad's rigatoni was over flowing and he loved it. Everyone in our party of 3 enjoyed their food. Service was friendly and prompt. The place is a family friendly so expect noise but typical. Branchinelli's is about a 20 minute ride from our home. This is the go to place when we are getting pizza or Italian take out when we have company. The trip is worth it. The restaurant inside has delicious food and attentive service. The ambiance is more on the diner side of atmosphere. You are not going to feel like you are in an old world Italian restaurant. Still our go to local Italian restaurant because the food, service & prices are very good. We just learned recently that they actually offer specials!!! The specials are never on the menu or posted anywhere in the restaurant nor are they ever offered from your server. You have to ask! I am a chef & my husband went to Johnson and whales - so my family is a bit snobby with food. Don Pepe's in queens & restaurants in Manhattan is the taste we are used to. My family actually stopped ordering Italian food in the East since every restaurant we tried in Suffolk was just about inedible .....until we tried Branchinelli's. The food is EXCELLENT! This is a Few days late, but as they say "better late than never". So to start, this seems to be a pizzeria with a restaurant in the back. They were very busy but it was Friday night so to be expected and it looked like a good sign. So here's my Cons. - The fact that you have to wait for a table while standing among the pizzeria is a downer. Very tight area and felt a little confused. Now we get seated but the wait for a waitress seemed excessive. Yes the were busy but I feel that once you're seated thing should move along swiftly. Sorry but it didn't work that way this night. So the food. - Typical Italian fare with some specials. Two orders of Ravioli were good, but to be expected. I has a special which was shrimp, sausage pieces and a cream sauce over spaghetti. I liked it but was too much food for me. Not necessarily a complaint. Overall a good meal just not happy waiting among a crowd of people picking up pizzas. Decent Eggplant Parm Hero, pretty much like anything else you can find around this area. I would have preferred more of a toasted or garlic bread hero. I've had it like that at certain places which really adds to the taste as well as a nice crunch. Also I thought it had a little too much sauce, heartburn sufferers beware. The positives, the portion of eggplant was generous & the sauce had nice flavor. Literally the BEST Broccoli Rabe anywhere. I love broccoli rabe and even make my own but Branchinelli's broccoli rabe is even better than my own. Couldn't tell you if the pizza is good or not... I'm allergic to peanuts and THEY COOK IN PEANUT OIL. I ordered two pies for pick up last year and had forgot to ask if they cook in peanut oil. Most places don't but I usually ask anyway because occasionally it happens. Anyway, when I went to pick it up and asked, to my surprise they do. The person working there, who I assume is the owner, BRAGGED about using peanut oil and claimed that "it's the Italian traditional way." I bet this guy has never even been to Italy because if he had he would know that cooking in peanut oil is NON-EXISTENT. Good luck with your pizza business. I hope for all the people with peanut allergies that you never get sued due to your backwards, outdated "real italian" pizza joint. read more

I have been going to branchinellis for a good while now and it has been my favorite in town. After ordering take out and noticing a bug (maggot or worm) half way through my meal I am truly dissatisfied. I will not be returning, I am so besides myself from this experience. In my eyes, Branchinelli's deserves somewhere between 3-4 stars. The food is really delicious; their stuffed pizza and Rigatoni Ala Vodka are my favorite. It is also a beautiful establishment and it's obvious that the owner takes the atmosphere and the feel of the atmosphere seriously. My big problem with Branchinelli's, however, is the staff. I'm usually not one to judge staff too harshly; I understand how hard and overwhelming it is to work at such a busy restaurant. But not once in my 3 years of coming here have I received a kind, or at least respectful, server. Most of the servers are in their teens and they really act like they don't want to be there. They stand around, have an attitude, and honestly make me not even want to come in. It's ok to have bad days sometimes, but it seems like all the staff members do not care about serving people and the managers (or at least who I think are managers) do not do or say anything about it. I try to be very nice and appreciative towards the staff, such as say thank you and wishing them a great day. And all I've ever gotten as a response were eye rolls or I've just been ignored.
