The service was poor. Our waitress kept getting a simple on-the -menu order wrong. When she was informed, she insisted it was right. I will never order from here again. I have ordered country fried steak and potato's I normally substitute the vegetables for more potatoes. Today they changed me 450 for the potatoes but didn't not reduce the price for no vegetables. A15 dollar meal just cost 2150. And they use breakfast gravy with sausage in it it was nasty. This place looks like a hole in the wall because it's kind of hidden off towards the side of the freeway and two lights from the Tyler Mall but it's definitely not a hole in a wall. This place has classic breakfast foods and dinner food. They also have Mexican breakfast staples that are so good. The parking lot is a little small but that's ok. Considering we came on a busy Sunday we were seated very quickly and this place is not very large. I would say they are extremely efficient in terms of seating and cleaning up after someone leaves. In terms of food I had he chili verde plate from the dinner menu and wasn't sure I could order I at 10am but they said they serve it all day. That was nice if your in the mood for something less breakfast and it was very delicious. They also kept the coffee flowing when they pass by which is always a major plus. My husband got the chicken and waffles plate which he said was amazing. I tried some of the waffle and it was a solid waffle no complaints. The portions for most of the items are pretty large so you will come out very full or consider sharing. My mother in law got an omelet which was huge and she said it was very tasty. This is a great brunch and breakfast spot and it's a must try. I will say the service itself could have been a little better because it took our server sometime to get to us for ordering and when we were trying to head out but it may have been due to it being a very busy Sunday. Again I would still come back and it seems the negative comments are centered around to go orders and some service issues. I spoke to a manager, Ana, and was told she wouldn't redo the plate as I requested. Listen, I have managed restaurants and I never refused to redo an item, especially that I hadn't even received the food. I was so surprised and couldn't believe that a restaurant manager would say that! When I asked why, she said it has been made and they can't waste food. OMG! What a terrible guest experience. This restaurant has always had a diner atmosphere, the food and the service was good. I don't know what happened, maybe new owners...? I went today and was very disappointed. It took almost 10 minutes to get a waitress over here to just take my order. Then it took about 20 minutes to get my food. I don't know if it was the cook or the waitress. She also left my food sitting in the station getting cold. The prices have gone out of control too! Terribly disappointed and won't be coming back. This was brought in by a co-worker and we split the chilaquiles plate. It was good and a lot of food for 1 person. It came with 2 eggs anyway you want them (we got them fired over hard), hash browns and rice. I have never heard of this place before, but it was good and someplace I would like to visit in the future. The Chilaquiles were some of the best I have had in a long time. I can't want to try more of their food! Three stars only becasue I have yet to vist the location, and the food so far is great! read more

This restaurant location is a disgrace to the Brandon's Diner namesake. We sat and waited approximately 15 minutes before a beverage order was taken, another 15 minutes for food order, then my daughter said " I think that is our food that's been at window for 10 minutes, I then asked the waitress ( who wasn't helping us) to check on our food that may be at the window. Another 5 minutes passed, they brought the food, it was all cold to the touch, my daughters Philly cheesesteak was cold, the cheese was hard, and my sons pancake was so cold the butter didn't even melt. This was the first time EVER that I walked away from a restaurant and told them, charge me for the drinks, because the food is cold and we're leaving. Over 1 hour and 15 minutes of wasted time, left with starving kids, never again. I do not recommend this place, your not going to get good service, or food. The whole area was clean with fresh salad and many other items to choose from. The meatball soup (sopa de albondigas) was not the most flavorful I've ever had, but still good. The strawberry lemonade was delish, infused with quite a few sliced strawberries. SIDENOTE about our visit (5/13/17): A transient walked in unnoticed and apparently headed straight for the men's restroom. My husband went to wash his hands just before our food arrived, but I saw him open the door, walk in for half a second, then walk straight back to our table with a disgusted look on his face. Just then a waiter walked by and husband complained about a "homeless guy washing his feet in the sink with blood all over the place." This guy looked to be in his twenties. A punk. Threatened to drop his drawers as he complained about getting kicked out. Dude really was full of himself. The employees handled the situation well, I thought. Cleaned the restroom immediately. Decided to give them a try, big mistake!! Won't be going back. Decided to do a take out order, spent $50, French toast was melting through the styrofoam container, bacon was burnt on one end, and wiggly on the other end, hash browns were burnt on both sides but raw in the middle, crepes were burnt on the inside but gelatin on the outside (also missing bananas) biscuits and gravy were old, and swimming in sweet gravy, fries were soggy, and everything except for the French toast was very cold. The food is delicious and hot. We had lunch and I ordered onion rings, bacon cheeseburger and French fries. The onion rings were tasty, hot and crispy. They tasted like they were maybe beer battered. The burger was thick and juicy. Seasoned well not too salted. The fries were lightly crisped. The patty was a great size, not thin which made for a juicy burger. The service was good and prompt.
