    Filet mignon
    Dan R.

If you're looking for an old-school steakhouse that caters to a more traditional crowd, this is the spot. The filet mignon was hands down the best I've ever had--perfectly cooked, juicy, and flavorful (once I added a bit of salt). If I could rate just the steak, it would be an easy five stars. The wedge salad was also very good, a nice surprise and one of the better parts of the meal. However, I was a bit surprised they never brought out bread or rolls to start, which would have been a nice touch. Unfortunately, everything else was pretty lackluster. The sides and other dishes lacked seasoning, and I noticed younger diners around me all reaching for the salt shaker. The menu didn't offer a lobster tail add-on, which would have been a great option. The interior definitely shows its age--this is a classic, no-frills kind of place that longtime patrons probably love, but it could use a refresh. Service was solid, but the parking lot was a bit odd, and the warning signs about stolen items didn't exactly inspire confidence. Would I come rushing back? Probably not. But if you want an excellent filet mignon and a solid wedge salad, it's worth a try!

I forgot to take pictures of the food, but here is the bar at 10am!

Old school restaurant in San Ramon. We came here today with my husband's grandparents and we had a nice brunch. I got the cheese and mushroom omelette with hash browns and a muffin, my husband got the Denver omelette and my daughter got the egg with pancake and bacon. It was all good.

The combo seafood Louis Salad had bell peppers because the kitchen ran out of cucumbers! The waiter did not ask if the substitution was acceptable or not... The prime rib was tender but dry. The potato was dry and the creamed spinach could do with some seasoning.... This explains why most of the diners were older, and only 1/3 of the restaurant was occupied--they are locals who have figured out what they liked and keep ordering the same entrees... There are other steak places to try out....

While my car was at the garage, I walked to this nearby establishment for a bite. Although it's been a while since my last visit, it felt like stepping back in time. Unlike Cheers, the diners at the bar and restaurant didn't call out my name. The dining room had a few diners but you can definitely hear their conversations. I wanted something simple, I ordered the calamari fritter and California salad to learn later they ran out of mixed greens and offered to make salad with romaine lettuce with all the toppings described in their California salad. The waiter took it on himself to prepare the salad. I appreciate the gesture. The calamari was served hot and crispy with cocktail sauce. I prefer tartare sauce and ask for it. The substitute salad portion was generous and fresh. The dishes were reasonably priced. The service was attentive. For simple fare, I would return if I'm in the neighborhood.

After a long, exhausting day working out of town missing home and craving something comforting I was really looking forward to a good steak. What I got instead tasted like it had been dragged across a burnt, unclean grill. Dry, bitter, and downright disappointing. I needed a break, a good meal to lift my spirits, but this wasn't it.

The service was okay, but the food is not good. There was a fly on my plate and the waitress didn't do anything, nor was empathetic about it. Also, my steak was super red. I asked for medium rare not cook on pan for 5 mins rare. Their mash potatoes was not buttery or creamy at all, by far the worst mashed potatoes. I don't recommend.

We hosted a birthday lunch for 12 and had a private room in the back of the restaurant. Our waiter Dave was excellent; very flexible, great service, predicted our needs. The food was very good. We worked with Shahla to organize the event and everything went off without a hitch!

2 small bowls of minestrone soup at $9 each and one isn't filled all the way

I use to go to this restaurant for years and the parking lot was always packed. When it got bought out over 5 years ago the quality and serving sizes have gone down hill. We ordered a couple meals and minestrone soups. Each meal was $23 while the soups were each $9. We also asked for extra bread and it was forgotten about, but brought out when we told them they forgot it. The bread was re-heated and chewy, not fresh. The meals were pathetic in the amount of meat given. When asked why they only had 1 small chicken instead of 2 like they always did, they said it was by weight. I'm still starving after eating it. The soups were extremely small and we even tipped. This place is inconsistent and hurting for money as it is always empty inside. The ambience is dark and not welcoming. There were 3 families and a few men watching a game at the bar. Find a new restaurant to go to. We won't be back.

If you are hosting a party during the colder months, then you may need to find some activities inside. I think they have several rooms that you can rent from. My boyfriend and I emailed the facility tech Alejandro Ochoa (gochoa@sanramon.ca.gov), the rec coordinator James Spielvogel (jspielvogel@sanramon.ca.gov), and program specialist Nargess Anwar (nanwar@sanramon.ca.gov). Being able to bring in your own appetizers and late night snacks is a huge money saver since many venues charge $10-$15 per person just for apps. If you know, you know! As a 2027 bride myself, I can happily say I just got off my final call with Saneta and decided to book Canyon View for our wedding! P.S. If you're wondering why I'm leaving a review before my wedding, it's because I've experienced Canyon View from both sides, as a wedding coordinator and now as a bride. We arrived 5 minutes early and were greeted by her lovely assistant. We were informed to wait a little while and we ended up waiting 20 minutes . No apologies. Sandra met us when she was done with the last client . We were wondering why stressed so much about " on time " while she could not keep the appointment as scheduled. The venue is beautiful, nicely devoted with big Wi downs and screen so you could appreciate the sunshine and green lawn outside . It was also big enough to accommodate 200 - 250 guests . It has a big dance floor , outdoor area to have a wedding ceremony and a fountain . The basic cost of the venue was the cheapest compared to other . However, they have a detailed list of renting cost every single item ( like dessert bowls , chair cover , dessert spoons, cocktail table , etc ) . I have enclosed a list for your reference. I would not recommend to come to this venue for the hidden costs and inconvenience. We did not appreciate the dinner banquet was only Buffett style . Saneta told us that they did not have the staffs and time to do table service. We were expecting an elegant dining banquet and were quite disappointed.

The staff was very accommodating at the venue, they made sure to have plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. To top it all off, we had yummy snow cones that came in cherry red and tropical blue. The kids had really seemed to love the snow cones. We opted to have an open bar feature at the event, which the guests enjoyed beer and wine options. The Afghan food just gives you the feeling of being at home without having to enter the kitchen! The staff checked on us to ensure we had everything we needed more than once! They restocked the buffet multiple times to ensure there was never a shortage. There was beautiful Ramadan decor and the restaurant itself is classy and so clean. I loved that there actually a designated area to pray. The food was really good my favorite was the chabli kabob! My daughter loved the kabuli. Great place to throw an intimate wedding, baby shower, birthday party, host friends for an Iftar the prices are beyond reasonable and the location is convenient located with tons of parking. I can't wait to go back again!
