Whenever we travel we always try to find a local coffee shop in the city we're in. For Jacksonville it was Brass tacks! We wish we could clone brass tacks & have them in every city that's how much we liked them! Highly recommend the island boy and the nutty Irishmen! Get them iced & Florida man style! Staff is efficient & nice & coffee is great! Brass tacks does it right! If you order a flavored latte you can taste the flavor! Can't say enough good things! The few times we were in there on this trip we got our coffee to go but it always seemed quiet, like it would be a good place to get some work done! They are also open on Sundays & open early on Saturdays which is super convenient! We look forward to hitting up brass tacks next time we're in JAX. read more

The manger on duty recommended me a drink knowing it was my first time and was one of the best coffees I've ever had. The staff was nice and welcoming and is a perfect place to go study. I just adore Brass Tacks. I've been coming for years and they make an Iced Matcha Latte that is almost too good to beat. It is very rare that I'm not completely in love with my drinks from Brass Tacks, and if I'm not, the employees are always super helpful to help make it better! I do miss their vegan chicken tenders though... those were an amazing snack when on the go. They had some seriously addictive vegan ranch. Would love it if they could bring these back! More vegan options are always welcomed so I'd love to see a few more veg-friendly eats on the menu! All in all, just head over to Brass Tacks if you're in need of some caffeine. Stopped in today for a quick cup of coffee to go on my way to work. Place was not very crowded due to the odd hour I went (5pm). It is located off Southside Blvd and has a small drive through that turns down to the Publix parking lot behind the business. The business has high top seating and comfortable looking chairs to sit in. The staff were friendly and greeted me promptly. The young lady took my order without any problems and delivered my coffee promptly. They also have a selection of pastries at the front counter (the blackberry danish looked really good but I passed due to it being close to dinner time). My coffee was fresh and hot. I ordered it with cream and they place the cream in it for you so you don't have to go look for the stuff. Will stop for a cup again in the future. read more

Sweet lil coffee shop by my local Publix. They even have a drive-thru! Their menu includes waffles, biscuit sammys, burritos and sweet baked goods. I got free coffee because it was my name day!!! Perfect for a first visit. They don't brew decaf drip so I got a bold and bright decaf americano. Very excited to sample the cranberry orange muffin I ordered. I've been stalking their OG location, Spring Park Coffee in Green Cove, for far too long. So, what did these dudes decide to do? They opened up a sister location on Southside Blvd. God bless folks who bring their product to you! First things first, Brass Tax Coffee is a locally owned and operated business, providing a breath of fresh air to the monopolized area. They've even upped the ante for you lazy bums and have their own drive thru! Convenience will always be king. I came here for the Grand Opening last Friday and hung out for a few hours. Granted, this wasn't typical day-to-day operations. They had a few local vendors set up in the parking lot, ran a few giveaways, and even hosted a jam-packed latte art competition. Right off the bat, I love how they're wearing their hearts on their sleeves for the community. The store is so clean you can eat off the floor. Lots of yellow which brighten up the airy space. It does get super loud in here, so if you can't handle the echo this might not be the coffeehouse for you. Coffee-wise, I tried the cold brew and it was very good! Seems like they have a small selection food items for sale. Someone else mentioned that prices weren't listed, which I think is rather odd for a coffee shop. Decided to come here based on other yelp reviews. Staff is super friendly, and greeted us as soon as we entered the shop. We had no idea what we wanted but went with the spring/summer specialities. I got the sweet & salty, and my husband the raspberry vanilla latte. We also got the sausage biscuit and the Nutella waffles. We preferred the sausage biscuit over the waffles by far. The biscuit was slightly on the sweeter note, but fairly tasty. Both lattes were well made. They were smooth, velvety and rich. I was hoping I could find prices listed, but they haven't been added yet. I'm not sure what each item cost, but it did add up to a pretty penny. read more

I recently have been coming here often and have fallen in love with their pumpkin spice chai latte. I'm always getting it and or delivered. It's the perfect drink for fall lover and chai lovers as well. Service is always friendly and smiling and it's just comforting to go and just chill for a few. Do not come here expecting food. Every time I have come lately they do not have biscuits which almost every item on their menu is a biscuit sandwich. The last time I was told "you should come earlier" to get a biscuit. And the coffee alone isn't worth a trip here unfortunately, it's very weak and at times sour and I witnessed them pouring pouring it from what looked like a store bought jug of coffee and the prices are higher than Starbucks (I typically get a cold brew with nothing in it). Order counter has a cool large "stay sharp!" slogan, walls are painted with patterns of yellow, black and white, their bar surface tiled in that same color palette, too! Would be a great place as a coffice or study spot. I was expecting my latte to be a bit more salted and since it wasn't, it tasted like a lightly sweetened latte. Good, but not what I expected. First time trying Brass Tacks Coffee and wasn't disappointed!! I order a iced chia latte with oat-milk while my boyfriend got the Vietnamese coffee and we both loved it. This is the best Chia latte I've had in Jacksonville so far. The layout and setup was really cute and they have seating inside and outside. With pricing they do up charge for alternative milk ($1 up charge) and the drinks are around $5 so it's fairly priced. We will definitely be back. read more

Was in the area with my husband getting work stuff and wanted a coffee, opened Yelp and typed coffee in and went through a few options. Ultimately decided on brass tacks. On the way there it was further then I originally thought but I had already had my mind set. I didn't order where you're supposed to and went all The way to the window, the girl working the window was so nice about it and took my order. I got an iced white chocolate mocha and a Vietnamese coffee (I've always wanted to try one) I for the large size of my white chocolate mocha and my total for both was just about $9! For a small coffee shop, that's a great price. The Vietnamese coffee was alright, exactly how they describe it though, I just think I'm not a huge fan of that drink. The white chocolate mocha was THE best I've ever had. I wish I lived closer & I would be there all the time but believe anytime I am in the area I will Stop by. I keep trying to support local businesses and sorry, but they continuously dissapoint. First - I ordered a 16oz latte w/ extra shot, sugar free syrup and almond milk. It came to $6.50 which is more than a Venti of the same components at Starbucks. Second - It supposedly had 3 shots of espresso....i barely tasted any coffee at all. Extremely weak whereas that same order in a Venti has a super strong coffee flavor and buzz Third - Zero taste or sweetness of the sugar free vanilla. They get stars for being a cute place and nice staff but come on guys, if you want to compete with the big boys you need to step it up. read more

Have to say my coffee and overall experience wasnt as mindblowing as all the other reviews. My almond oat latte was decent, I'd order it again. I didnt have any food but the baked goods looked tempting. Overall i found the decor stark, and there isn't any cozy seating options. Opted to sit outside on this gorgeous fall day, but the outdoor tables and chairs were soooo uncomfortable. In the future I'd grab coffee to go, but I probably wouldn't hang out here. read more

I've gotten Brass Tacks delivered 3 times to my condo. I was searching for an iced unsweetened green tea on ubereats and this place came up. The green tea was tasty! It had a pineapplely, mango flavor. So much better than Starbucks! I've also tried their kiwi, strawberry iced tea and that is delicious too! Sweet, with a slight tang!
