We enjoyed this place but felt a bit rushed to get there since we read that seating ended at 7pm. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating, which is nice and especially, for the patrons with pups. The food was good but not the best German cuisine we have had. The schnitzel and the spaetzle were just bland and under-seasoned and even with the mushroom sauce on the schnitzel. Servers were great and very polite in spite of how busy they were. Parking it a bit tight but not terrible. We would still go back to give the other dishes a try. :) read more

Food: Excellent. Got the schnitzel, potato pancakes, cabbage, and pretzel. All really great. The pretzel was the star though. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Service: Even better than the food. Was there with my two very small daughters. The older (2) was not having her best day. Everyone there was so great about it, like it was no big deal. I was so skeptical of this place, even though it had 5 stars. Boyyy was I wrong to doubt! First of all, the pictures on the menu do not do it justice!! If you are able, look around at what everyone is eating. My husband and I ordered the giant pretzel with the Bavarian mustard and holy cow. The pretzel was larger than our heads. Literally could split between 4 people. The mustard was great, a little sweet for me as I like spicy, but still great. We split the fried Brie and again, could be split between 4-5 people it was that huge. We had to take half of it home. But dang. It was a whole wheel of Brie that was deep fried, so that when you cut into it, the gooey center just pours out. The potato pancakes blew us away. Three came with a side of sour cream and applesauce, and it was incredible. Probably the best German food I've had overall, and I've had the real deal in Germany! You can drive there, or if you are parked downtown, you can walk about a quarter mile. 100% worth it either way. read more

This place was fantastic. As soon as we walked into the door we were greeted with a smile and handed a menu that explained what everything was. The food was really good (lunch portion was perfect sized!) and the Hefeweizen was a great addition to the meal. My biggest regret is not trying the desserts. Group behind us got the apple strudel and it looked amazing. If I'm ever back or close to Dahlonega, Bratzeit will be the first place that I head too. read more

The staff is always amazing and the food comes out quick. My favorite things is the currywurst, house fries, and red cabbage. My boyfriend loves the schnitzel and spaetzle. Here is the deal, charming family owned restaurant, order at the counter they give you a number you find your seat and they bring out the food. If you are unsure about getting dessert you can leave the tab open. The menu has some real good options, they don't have tons of different dishes as it's a small family run place so the menu offerings are from scratch and all real good and they do a great job on them. Service was top notch, warm friendly and inviting. Get the apple strudel. Just get it you will love it. read more

This little establishment is one of my very favorite restaurants in Dahlonega. They serve authentic German and Swiss foods. I could LIVE on their currywurst(sp) and fried potatoes. Their sauerkraut and purple cabbage are sonnet-worthy. And oh, please order their dessert. They make amazing dessert. The people are just lovely and the food is always on point. Great place! Wonderful people. Food was absolutely the best. There were lots of customers coming in that were obviously regulars. We were just passing through town and decided to go for something besides Mexican. So glad we did. Followed gps which took us to a strip shopping center. Restaurant is actually up the side drive behind a bank. The jaegerschnitzel was the best I have ever had. The potato cakes were cooked perfect with just a little crispness on the outside. We visited north GA for a long weekend. Went to a cute little German/Bavarian replicated town called Hellen, GA. I looked up the best German restaurants on Yelp and the best I could find had 3 stars...very disappointing! So, I put in a search for German food using my location rather than Helen, GA. It pointed me to a solid 5 star review but turns out the restaurant was in a town called Deloghniga, about 40 min away. It was a beautiful day so we had to make the drive, especially because it is extremely rare to see 5 star avg review on Yelp. I had the Nurnberger Brat, schnitzel and sauerkraut...absolutely OUTSTANDING! Food was great and it didn't have the feeling afterwards like I had a 'brick' in my stomach which often happens with German food. The staff and owner were very friendly...we had a good conversation. I got two blocks down the street, turned around and went back in to get a slice of black forest cake to take home. They make their deserts in house. I love places like this, that do a good job and take pride in their work! Look forward to visiting again someday. read more

Legit 5 star restaurant. We ordered jägerschnitzel which was so moist and flavorful with the mushrooms. So fresh and tasty. We also ordered the curry wurst full of flavor and one of the most tender wursts I've ever had. It was so, so good. Just about the best kraut I've had which mixed so well with the potato salad, curry wurst sauce and jägerschnitzel. You must order the house fries! They might look like bigger tater tots but they are their own. So, we had to try the strudel and even though we were already stuffed, we were very happy to indulge. The menu is limited, but the owner said that's to ensure authentic suppliers and results. I don't have the experience to vouch for the authenticity, but everyone in our group enjoyed their meal. They provide a visual cheat-sheet to help customers and that's a nice touch. My wife had the day's special, which was a vegetable soup with chunks of pork cutlet which was perfect for our cold December lunch. My mother had the schnitzel sandwich while my father had the bratwurst plate. While I had the jagerschnitzel and home fries. For an appetizer we shared a pretzel and the sausage sampler, with Nurnberger, Bratwurst, and Cervelat as our options. The Nurnbeger had the best flavor of the three. Of all the items, I must say the crispy home fries were my top favorite. The location is about half a mile from the busy, touristy part of Dahlonega and we walked it without difficulty and it was a detour that paid off. read more

Wow! It is hard to find good German food in Atlanta, but this little gem in Delonega is worth a drive! Dear One (my Pennsylvania Dutch husband) stopped here after a day hike in the mountains and nearly weeped over the sauerkraut. He tried the Jager schnitzel with spatzle and sauerkraut. Very authentic German food. Owners and cook is German. We ordered schnitzel which is like country fried pork, fleischkase which is like fried ham, cordon blue, and nurnberger sausage. All was incredible. Probably the best item we ordered was the pretzel. I am normally not a fan but my daughter loves them. This pretzel was incredible. I could eat these all the time. The large pretzel is large enough to be a meal. It is so good, I can never eat another "non-authentic" pretzel. I will come back to Dahlonega just to eat here. Owners are super hospitable. read more
