Went here for dinner On a Friday night in mid-November. No reservations accepted, but no wait. Nice atmosphere... this restaurant was previously in a smaller location (we ate there 5 years ago on a weekend trip), and the new location is much more comfortable. Enormous wine and beer selection... but with high prices. We ordered a $39 bottle (one of the least expensive on the menu). They did offer wine by the glass starting at about $11/glass. Food was excellent. All tapas style, but as other reviewers have noted, good portions for small plates. Sirloin with Chimichurri was perfectly cooked. I loved the sauce, but it was a bit too spicy for my wife's taste (luckily we ordered it in the side). Also had a pizza with caramelized onion, bacon, crème fraiche. Very tasty! Finished off the evening with Marcona Almonds. All in all, we enjoyed the experience. Would recommend. read more

The food, drink selection, and service was phenomenal. There are many locals and regulars and it's easy to see why. Great places garner loyalty and following. Atmosphere: quaint and homey Tavern vibe. Part New England Tavern and part Southern European hole in the wall. I love it. There's no a whole lot of room so if you have a party over 2-4 people you'd best come early or late. Drink: legit Spanish wines from basque whites and reds to priorat, extensive beer menu with hard to find and choice European and USA craft beers, massive wine list. As they say when handing you the menu: two pages of food, three of beer and five of wine! Food: great though succinct two pages of choices. One of the best cheese plates with New England and euro cheeses, raw and pasteurized, with quality and well paired accoutrements. Fried chick peas are a must. Shishito peppers perfectly blistered and salted. Fresh food all around. Nothing was short of great. Prices: Things can be middle of the road or expensive depending on your tastes here. Appropriate cost to benefit ratio if you ask me. Service: on point and attentive with personalized feel. The people enjoy working here and take pride in their restaurant and it shows. Got to try a few different beers and happy to hear opinions of pairings and flavors in foods without feeling patronized. Absolutely will be back! read more

Recommended by a merchant at one of the fine shops in Lenox Massachusetts, Brava did not disappoint! While not a food snob, I do consider myself a foodie, and the casual excellent small plates at this restaurant were greatly enjoyed! Scallops and lamb chops were excellent; the Swiss chard and brussels sprouts savory and great accompaniments. I'm not a beer drinker, but there must be a hundred beers on the menu. I enjoyed a hard blueberry kombucha; there is an excellent cider on the menu that I've had in the past. In lieu of dessert, we had to to finish with a pizza. Couldn't decide between the many choices, several of which we were drawn to. Opted for the fennel salami, spicy cherry peppers... Really enjoyed dinner, heading down the street to the fire fly for music. read more

Arrived at 5 pm opening on a Tuesday night with the intention of having a light meal prior to a Tanglewood show. I guess a lot of people had the same idea because the tables were full within a few minutes. I don't think the staff knew how to handle the busy dining room. 2 of my party order flat bread which was flavorful, but the dough wasn't fully cooked. All other food was acceptable. Ordered takeout from here Saturday night and I was not disappointed. We ordered four pizzas. The tomato with basil, caramelized onion with bacon, mushroom with thyme, and the sausage pizza. Everything was AMAZING and service was exceptional. I hope to eat here in person the next time we are in Lenox and try their tapas menu. I have a feeling it will be just as great as the pizzas. We came back during another trip home to the Berkshires and it was really wonderful. The place was completely packed on a cold and wet Monday night, which is saying something. We ordered a bunch of small plates to share, including the goat cheese and fig bruschetta, the lamb chops, the patatas bravas, and the scallops. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly and came out extremely quickly. We also ordered the warm coconut almond bread pudding, which tasted like absolutely amazing French toast, but more moist. It was served with homemade whipped cream. The service was excellent and very attentive, and the person in charge of the wine and beer list really knows what they're doing. My husband had a dark beer from Estonia and I had two glasses of Pinot noir which was absolutely excellent. We ended up making friends with the lady dining next to us and talked for quite a long time, which was fun. Never did we feel rushed. Our dining companion had ordered a pizza with pesto that looked and smelled heavenly. If I hadn't been stuffed at the end of our meal I would have happily sampled a slice when she offered. I feel like the food - which was very good during our last visit - has actually leveled up. This restaurant is unpretentious and down to earth despite the excellent quality and execution of the food, and it doesn't get enough attention! My fiance and I came to Brava during a quick 2 day trip to the Berkshires to get away from the city. The hype is definitely real- both the drinks and food are delicious, BUT, to participate in the hype, you will definitely be paying NYC prices. The drinks list is EXTENSIVE. I got so flustered I just ended up ordering a $6 red sangria to start while my date ordered one of their draft beers that was up his alley (and it was delicious). The sangria was also pretty amazing for the price and had the added kick of cinnamon which wasn't expected but really appreciated... definitely on my list of top sangrias I've ever had. My fiance continued to order different beers throughout the night and I tried a Malbec recommended by our server which turned out to be a great suggestion. Food: + Crispy Calamari: seasoned very well + Grilled Lamb Chops: very tender and well cooked- could have more flavor in the chops but the mint sauce balanced this out. +Crispy Chicken Wings with Korean sauce: Not as good as NYC Korean wings, but still very good. + WIld Mushroom Goat Cheese, Walnuts and Fig Jam Bruschetta: delicious! but you only receive two pieces - quite expensive for the price +San Marzano with Mushrooms pizza: also very good Customer service is wonderful- if we are back in this area will of course make a return visit here. read more

My wife and I took our first trip to the Berkshires this weekend, and before our travels, I had scoured Yelp for the best reviewed places. Brava was one of the places on top of our "to try" list. We loved it so much our first night here, we decided to come by again the second night! Brava is a small tapas and wine bar in downtown Lenox. Although it's tough to find a seat, this place is easily worth a 30 minute wait (in fact, that's how long we waited the second time we visited). Overall, Brava delivers everything you'd expect out of a 5-star venue: the food is outstanding, the drink selection is incredible, the service is excellent, and even the ambiance is great. For food, Brava offers a full menu page of cold tapas, hot tapas, pizzas and desserts. My wife and I were tempted to try the pizzas but (coming from NYC, where we can get pizza on every corner) instead decided to try some of the tapas. In particular, we selected the truffle fries, calamari, meatballs and brussel sprouts with bacon (we were told this was a seasonal item... we got lucky traveling here when we did). My wife paired her meal with a glass of sangria while I opted for a glass of Syrah (both were outstanding). Before describing how amazing the food was, I just want to take a slight tangent to talking about the drinks. Folks, there are PAGES upon PAGES of adult beverages to choose from, more than at any bar I've seen before. The beers alone likely amounted to 100+ on 3 pages (most are bottled or canned, but even the draught items were local specialties rather than the standard national options). You could come to this bar for a full year, order 1 or 2 different drinks every night, and still not try them all. WOW! Ok so back to the food. Everything we sampled was AMAZING. In order of my favorites (from best to still amazing): 1. Meatballs: holy moly are these delicious! They're served hot and homemade with a sweet tomato sauce loaded with just the right herbs and spices. So good! 2. Truffle fries: of course the Parmesan and rosemary were incredible on these fries but the real kicker was the pesto sauce. I would never have thought of that combination but it is SO GOOD. 3. Brussel sprouts - bacon + cheese + brussel sprouts. Really that's all I'm gonna say. Excellent smokey flavor, too. 4. Calamari - even something this simple was good. These tasty squid were fried up perfectly and had a terrific spicy tartar sauce that gave the calamari just the right amount of kick. Everything was delicious! I also want to talk briefly about the service. Our bartenders were both outstanding: friendly, personable, helpful, and kind. I later learned that one of the bartenders was the owner, Whitney. The fact that he put himself on the front lines is something I truly admire. He could easily be in the back barking orders (or not even there at all), but he put himself right at the bar serving guests directly. That's what you call a great leader (and a very smart restauranteur). There was only one hiccough in our whole experience - the seasonal dessert, the pumpkin bread pudding. Neither one of us liked it. Still, it didn't dampen our feelings about this place at all. Folks, this place is awesome! Make sure to swing by early to guarantee yourself a table or spot at the bar. A fantastic food experience, from top to bottom. After a short wait--the restaurant does not take reservations--we were seated and immediately brought out waters. Ordered drinks also arrived swiftly, and the food...everything was fresh to table, truly delicious tapas that arrived in a logical and timely fashion. We ordered the arugula salad, bread and sea salt butter, bang bang shrimp (the sauce was *chef's kiss*), and balsamic scallops. Not a scrap of food was left behind, and for good reason. We came here because of all the fantastic reviews. Maybe it was what we ordered but I was a bit disappointed with what we ordered. We ordered the Italian sausage pizza, the meatballs and the mushroom bruschetta. Out of the three, the bruschetta was the best and very delicious. The pizza was not flavorful, given the various toppings and the meatballs tasted more like meat loaf- and it even had the consistency of meatloaf. I think I would come back for drinks instead, as they have eleven pages of wines and beers. Maybe I'll give it another shot next time we come back. read more

There is an illusion that they are sensitive to food allergies/sensitivities by their labeling of GF, Veg, & V ... however they utilize butter in many dishes that normally would be expected to be prepared w/only oil. Learned this only after tasting and asking ( at which point I noticed the difference in labeling by Veg / V). As per our inquiry w/our kind & upbeat( although somewhat clueless) green haired waitress, they Pre make a lot of the dishes & hence can not cook to order ... for instance a shrimp dish w/garlic in only oil vs oil & butter ?! Delicious fresh food, amazing wine and beer selection, fantastic service! There was a bit of a wait in this cozy charming bar/restaurant but we were invited to wait inside and have a drink if we wanted. They took out name on a list and cleared tables quickly.
