I ordered a meal on uber eats with explicit instructions that I was allergic to asparagus- and could omit it or sub in mixed greens. It came with asparagus and I had to throw my entire 37$ meal out that I waited 28 minutes for - I had just flown in from 3 weeks away - it was 11:30pm. This is the second time this has happened. Sh--ty waitress who didn't think I was "nice." When you mess up the drink order and don't apologize for it I certainly won't be nice! As for the food, it was all undersalted, the warm bread was a bit stale, and the green beans weren't cooked equally, not that she ever asked about it... To add more crapola to the experience, the bread pudding which we asked her about was the worst I have ever had. Half of it is basically sourdough bread without any syrup. I'm not a Southerner, but if I were I'd point to this bread pudding as everything that's wrong with San Francisco--or just don't call it bread pudding, call it sourdough dessert! Most amazing service, hands down! From the moment you're greeted at the door, to the bartender, the servers, everyone is so attentive and nice! Any requests made were met timely, and with a smile! We bought drinks so that we could use the restrooms (which were SUPER CLEAN OMG!), and then left, but then came back again and had food/drinks. & let me tell you... THE FOOD AND DRINKS WERE DELICIOUS! Everything came out quickly and was probably gone even quicker. We sat outside and although it is getting colder in the city, the heat lamp kept us nice and toasty. I would hands down recommend them to anyone and I'd give 10 stars in a heartbeat if I could! There are not enough words to describe my experience here. All I can say is AMAZING! The ambiance is so perfect for a date night or to catch up with a friend and just enjoy good food and drinks. Their prices for their food & drinks matches the quality of the food. The lobster ravioli was to die for. I wanted a second plate immediately. I can't wait to come back to San Francisco to eat here again! There filet mignon was just wonderful you do not need to add any salt or pepper or even A1 sauce it's perfect the way it is. I'm not much for green beans but the way they cooked there's I enjoyed them surprisingly. There French onion soup was delicious as well & so was there bread pudding I can't eat that all day ! Our drinks were fabulous; I had a vesper martini and it was perfectly balanced and delightful (so much that I had 2 ). Consistently solid dining experience. I cannot compliment the wait staff enough - they make you feel completely relaxed and they cater to all your needs. The food is spot on every time, and full menu available even late. Their specials are unique and worth grabbing if they look good that night. The only downside to the small intimate dining room (which we do love) is that one loud, impolite table can control all sound in room. Sometimes not everyone in a restaurant wants to join your party! I've been a fan of this restaurant for years! Was the restaurant having an off night last night? I took my husband to dinner for his birthday. I asked the gentleman at the front desk to let our server know which didn't happen. We did get seated sooner than I expected which was a plus but I think the food was a bit off last night from previous experiences. We drove over an hour to get to the restaurant and I have been bragging about it to my husband for years only to have it be disappointing. We ordered an appetizer Burrata with tomatoes it was not great. Tomatoes were not ripe and really hard. We had a Ceaser salad and French onion soup. The soup was amazing and the salad was mediocre and the croutons were super hard. I had the prime rib which was super hard and really fatty. My husband had the peppercorn NY steak which had a large piece of grit/vein idk it went down the entire steak and the steak was really hard. We each had dessert - I had bread pudding which was amazing and my husband has a peach pie which he said was good. read more

I am honestly shocked I actually like this more than I anticipated. My boyfriend was craving prime rib and wanted to go to a spot with a more old school vibe. Looking at the menu, I didn't really see anything that caught my eye. Oh how pictures can be deceiving. I had the chicken marsala and he had the prime rib. For an appetizer, we got the buratta cheese starter. The buratta was rich in flavor and the arugula gave the overall texture a nice crunch. My boyfriend enjoyed his prime rib as he devoured the whole thing in one sitting. My chicken Marsala was juicy and the Marsala sauce was creamy and had the perfect amount of Marsala taste. I usually don't like it when the Marsala is deep in flavor so this was perfect for me. In regards to alcoholic drinks, these came out quick. It took less than 5 minutes to get our drinks as soon as we ordered them. I had a pims cup. It tasted very watered down. I felt there was no substance to my drink. Great place,like stepping back in time to an old school " pub" with traditional dark wood interior and friendly and fun service from the mostly female staff. Food is good nothing great but well prepared. I had the prawn scampi which was tasty although the prawns they use are on the smaller side it would be a lot better if they were the bigger size ones but obviously they're saving money by using smaller prawns -still, it was decent the star was the French onion soup with a nice layer of well cooked cheese covering the top. This has been my favorite spot in SF for about 20 years. It is the embodiment of high and bar and grill where the bar is like something from a speakeasy and the grill puts out some of the best continental cuisine imaginable. The atmosphere is old SF and super cozy with low light. It's hard to believe a place with such good bartenders and classically delicious and decadent food with a kitchen that is open until 1 am. This was a cute little place that's open late and the interior is so amber and cozy. Dinner is served up to midnight and the service is amazing. We were there at 11 and wanted to end the night with one more drink and some snacks. We shared the caprese salad, the roasted garlic and camembert cheese, and a side of mashed potatoes. All three were so delicious. Food comes with a side of garlic bread which, even in amber light, I could see was burnt but that said I ate it all. Only disappointment was the Paloma we ordered was so smoky we couldn't even drink it. Will have to go back for another try and this time have a full meal and a different drink. This place came highly recommended by so many, and I waited far too long to give them a try. I had really high expectations, and they did not disappoint!! Food and service were excellent. I started with the mixed green salad with the creamy Italian dressing. The homemade garlicky dressing was delightful. The prime rib was perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. I asked to skip the potato/rice and opted for double creamed spinach ... so yummy!! I also tried the prawns scampi and the sauce was delicious. So it's the evening after Thanksgiving and my Husband and I didn't partake in the same old Thanksgiving tradition that many of our fellow American families across the country do year after year. Instead our new Thanksgiving dinner tradition is to celebrate Thanksgiving on Friday and indulge in a Prime Rib Dinner with Brazen Head. What we like about this establishment is that it has a dark and intimate environment which makes it romantic and interesting. The food is delicious we started with Escargot, split a Caesar Salad, French Onion Soup, their warm bread is delicious, split their Lobster Ravioli, then for our main course Prime Rib with creamed spinach and mashed potatoes, and their Filet Minon with mashed potatoes and veggies. The meal was delicious and the service was excellent. One other thing that was very impressive was the fact that this establishment stays open late!!! The bill, however, ballooned way past the cost of dinner with a tip (no doubt deserved), a service fee (not sure what that is), a diver fee (hopefully actually given to the driver who is probably working hard for next to nothing), plus tax. The food was fresh and tasty but none (and I mean none) of the instructions I left on the order firm were read: we got mayo and cooked onions and mashed potatoes and sour cream - all of which we specifically requested we not get. I was looking for a celebratory meal that could be delivered and ordered this via UberEats. It turned out to be exactly what I was hoping for! Fancy delivery food that was delicious. I got the prime rib with the au jus sauce on the side, caesar salad, and carrot cake. The prime rib was so juicy and tender. The sides were also great, I loved the creamed spinach. Caesar salad was very standard - I surprisingly liked the croutons even though I typically don't like croutons. And the cake!! So good!! Its a very decadent and sweet cake which is exactly what I like but heads up for those who have a lower sugar tolerance. Overall, 10/10! My first visit at this Buchanan gem was great. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was lively. The servers and staff were all very attentive, extremely polite, and hospitable. I enjoyed the special which was short ribs, mashed potatoes, and green beans. Everything was well seasoned, served hot, and the short ribs were so tender there was no need for a knife. There was only one thing I noticed that made this visit less desirable.... while waiting for the restroom to open up I watched a waitress (not mine) walk one of their glass water bottles in and sit it on the bar. It wasn't full so the bartender takes a disinfectant wipe and wipes the bottle. Then proceeded to twist the top off and fill the water bottle back up. The bottle was never washed, never poured out. He just filled it up and it would be off to the next newly seated table. Being that we have covid going around I was a bit frightened by this. The ambience is off the hook! Dark, sultry, almost speak easy, but not. Cool NYC neighborhood steakhouse vibe. Very crowded for a Sunday night, but got a seat at the bar quickly.
