[[HIGHLIGHT]]Wonderful festive and welcoming atmosphere at this hopping Brazilian steakhouse in Cape Cod.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There is an all you can eat cold and also hot buffet included in the price featuring salads, fresh fruits, cheeses, olives and much more in addition to the hot bar with beans, polenta, and many other choices. As tempting as it is, do not fill up on this. Then comes the round of table side meat offerings! A small card is given to pick green on one side which means 'yeah, bring on the meat", or a red "resting.' Now you do not have to accept any meat (even if on green) that you do not want. But they will try to entice you. All the meat we tried was excellent and the servers were friendly and jovial. No rush on how long of a break between meat devouring (although they may still come to table and ask). Drinks were great. We opted for 2 desserts which were brought out on a cart to showcase and describe so one could choose (not included in the price). Magnificent. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lovely decor, clean place (including restrooms) that was busy and full of energy from the moment we arrived till the moment we left.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Amazing. Service was outstanding. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Food was excellent ans ambiance was welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Some parking in back lot and the rest is street parking which seems challenging even in the off season. We would highly recommend and would return in a heartbeat.

    Salad Bar

The Brazilian Grill, Hyannis My wife and I ate at the Brazilian Grill in Hyannis for lunch today. Short version: [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is inviting, comfortable, and well laid out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff is engaging and friendly - even after my trying out the little bit of Portuguese I know! And, the food is plentiful and delicious! The value is tremendous! We are looking forward to going back again (maybe in a couple of weeks ) !! As we walked into the restaurant, we could see what looked like a pastry counter (they make their own cakes, flan, etc.) to the left and the massive "salad bar" directly ahead through an interior window. Once we were seated, we ordered drinks and the took a spin around the salad bar. That salad bar has so much more than salad! It is one of, if not the best salad bars I have seen. Sure, there were Caesar and garden salads with the usual toppings, but also hot options like "lobster soup" (like a bisque), squash soup, several fish dishes (cod, shrimp, etc.), some type of fritter that was delicious, polenta, mashed potato, sweet potatoes, etc. The cold options included veggies, cheeses, breads, various fruit, cold cuts including Prosciutto di Parma & pineapple, tabouleh, sliced mozzarella, tomato, and cucumber, seafood salad (muscles, shrimp, calamari, etc., tossed with a some veggies), hummus, chicken salad, potato salad, deviled eggs, and a dozen other dishes I can't think of at the moment. (See the attached pictures). What I sampled from the salad bar (both hot and cold) was excellent. The gauchos waited for us to return to our table. Soon after, they arrived with skewers of meat (Rodizio) ready to carve for our plates. They carve as you grab hold of the slice with what are essentially oversized sugar tongs. They will carve as much as you like from as many different meats as you like. They visited us multiple times... We had baby prime, prime sirloin, flank steak, homemade sausage (chorizo and also not hot), NY Strip, Filet, chicken wrapped in bacon, and a few others. After a while, we turned our signal cards over to show red (indicating Chega!, or "no more!"). We had a wonderful, leisurely lunch. No pictures of the Rodizio - I was too busy putting slices of meat on my plate! A gentleman seated at a nearby table heard us oohing and ahhing about the salad bar and the carved meats. He suggested we try the chocolate cake for dessert. We all laughed because we really didn't have room for dessert. But we ordered it anyway, and also a flan (I happen to love flan)! The desserts were amazing! We ordered a second piece of chocolate cake to take home! Our waitress brought us a small box for the meat trimmings for our dogs (and taught us the Portuguese word for dog), a box for some leftover dessert, and another box with the extra piece of chocolate cake, along with the bill. Since people usually ask, the entire bill (2 Rodizio, 2 alcoholic drinks, a coke, 3 desserts, and a generous tip) came to $175 including tax. An excellent value so far as we are concerned. Now, my wife and I have a standard for comparing restaurant bills on Cape Cod. It's based on a restaurant on the lower cape that was recommended to us a few years ago by some folks in this group, as well as by a local nearby shop owner who said it was good for burgers. At that restaurant, we each had a burger & fries (mine was a cheese burger). I also had a rather limp and unsubstantial side salad. We each had an alcoholic drink, and I had a coke as well. It was good, meaning not great - just "meh" or "OK." We did not go back because that "burger and fries" lunch came to $110 (all in with an average tip) ~3 years ago. Definitely not worth it. And so, it is how we judge good food/value... Today's equivalent (leaving off the desserts, adjusting the tax and tip accordingly to match the "burger and fries" lunch) was $140 (all in for steak and a substantial salad bar). Paying a little more for what we consider unquestionably and substantially better food and service is well worth it! No question that the pattern we have seen on Cape Cod continues: really excellent food for ~$30+/- more than just "OK" or "meh" food of lesser quality and average service.

Clarissa was the best, most attentive waitress - food was great but chocolate mousse out of the world! Ask for her!!

This was the BEST Brazilian Steak house I've ever been to, nice, trendy & clean inside. Some of the water drinking glasses were a bit dirty but they rectified that right away. The two buffets were very impressive, I wouldn't take a vegan there but they did have a small amount of vegetarian options on the buffet. The meats were very well seasoned. Most of the time I was able to have the meat selection at my desired temperature, rare or medium rare. I was told a few times that some selections of meat that were sliced were going to be rare but they were well done. Of course we discarded those pieces quickly after first bite. I would suggest not drinking anything but water. Like don't fill up on cocktails, save room for your food. Some things were overly salty so if your concerned about blood pressure or have hypertension, beware, they are good at keeping your water glass filled. The servers were on top of their game, very attentive, especially towards the end, they check on you to see about desert. They have a desert cart they roll around! I honestly don't know how people fit desert but, it all looked amazing. All in all, when we come back to Hyannis, I'd love to come back again. It was worth every penny.

I made a reservation ahead of time because I wasn't sure how busy they got on a Friday afternoon. When we got there, it was moderately busy and there was a wedding going on. The restaurant was actually a lot larger than it appeared and aesthetically pleasing on the outside. Before the meats start coming around, there is a pretty large buffet available with cold salads, sushi, meats, rice and other options. There were plenty of delicious options to choose from and something for everyone. Once the meat started to come around, that was the star of the show. The meats were very tasty and we enjoyed our meal. There just seemed to be a bit of inconsistency regarding when the meats would go out and what meats. Sometimes we would wait a very long time in between and sometimes we would be offered the same meat multiple times. Nonetheless, we were full before we knew it! I don't go to restaurants like that very often but definitely enjoy when we can indulge. We had a great meal.

The Dinosaur was to die for!

"There's one thing I'm certain of Return, I will, to old…read moreBrazil" (Frank Sinatra) I've been to a few Brazilian steakhouses over the years, but I'm not really sure I've ever been to a full-blown real deal Brazilian restaurant before we had lunch at Boteco do Manolo yesterday. I say "real deal Brazilian" because the restaurant chain has 12 locations in Brazil, concentrated in Rio de Janeiro shopping centers. The Framingham location is one of the seven located in the U.S. Our server was a young man from Brazil, and since it was our first visit, he spent a lot of time going through their large menu. The restaurant serves family style portions (which are quite large), regular sized portions, appetizers, meat/chicken/seafood entrees, pasta and rice dishes, and a lunch menu. We both went to the lunch menu and ordered a special at $19.90 each. I went with the Peixe Grelhado (Grilled Mahi-Mahi Filet in a caper-butter sauce) served with a mountain of mixed vegetables, white rice and black beans. Seriously, that was a lot of food and much too much for a lunch, so half of it sits in my refrigerator as we speak. There were bottles of olive oil, olive oil with hot peppers, and Tabasco on the table, plus packets of mayonnaise. Those hot peppers nestled in the oil caught my eye, so I cautiously sprinkled some on my plate, and I was glad I was so cautious because it was damned hot (but yummy). My wife ordered the Frango Com Salada (Grilled Chicken Breast with salad) served with white rice, pico de gallo, and black beans. After we ordered, Alex came back to our table and said the lettuce intended for the salad didn't pass his inspection, so he offered us a different side order. We ordered French Fries instead. My fish and my wife's chicken were excellent. They were good-sized portions that were well seasoned and well cooked. My rice and beans were very good and that big pile of vegetables really went well with that volcanic pepper oil. Club soda was a very reasonable $2, so our big lunch ran $42 before tip with plenty of leftovers. If you're ever in the mood to enjoy, or try Brazilian food, travel to Framingham if you can't make it to Rio de Janeiro!

The steak, featuring picanha, of course, is delicious; however, this is not a churrascaria, so don't expect to be visited tableside by mountains of meat. We ordered primarily the petiscos and they were just like what you would get at those city bars. This atmosphere is more of a huge flashy restaurant with attentive service and gringos in the minority. Still, it can get crowded and noisy. Don't miss the frango a passarinho (fried chicken crispy yet NOT breaded), and the many combos including picanha, sausage, etc. Add the yuca fries and savor the side of fluffy farofa. Turns out this is a chain with a couple places here, at the Cape and Framingham, but a dozen in Brazil. Yet "pretty, pretty, pretty good!"

Fried fish, meats - Ecuadorian, Italian or Brazilian. Pizza. Pasta. Rice. LOTS OF RICE DISHES. Beans. Chicharron.., eggs... plantains... OH for the love of stuff we love to eat when we don't want to cook it, but in an ethnic way that grandma didn't teach us, and yet the levels of deliciousness we all have in common across the Latin and Brazilian Americas... An order EASILY feeds two people. The meat, ALL of them were PERFECTLY Rare as ordered! Jasmine rice is fluffy and well cooked. I had beans that were mixed with a "feijoada" kind of situation. I had bites off the meats, leaving more than half and enjoyed ALL the chicarron, beans, rice and a lamb chop off Hubby's plate. The food is fantastic! Not fine dining. Just REALLY GOOD FOOD! Everyone enjoyed their food, and everyone had take home! I, walked away with meat and lamb, thinking about steak and eggs for breakfast in the morning. Our server?! SPECTACULAR!
