Needed a bite to eat after work with a friend and hadn't tried this place yet so decided to pop in. Had read the reviews and looked through pictures and was excited to try some of the items I had seen, but when we got there none of them were on the menu any more :( We each got a drink, both of which were pretty good. We got 2 appetizers and each got an entree. The cauliflower wings were good but the larger ones still had raw batter on the inside. The deviled egg scotch eggs had good flavor, but the deviled egg yolk texture was a little weird to wrap our brains around. My friend didn't much care for her sandwich but I thought the pepperoni flatbread was quite good. The chef pushed back a bit on my wanting to add fresh mozarella for obvious reasons, but the reason he was pushing back was the reason I actually wanted it on there lol. The server was knowledgeable and helpful. Made a mistake but fixed it pretty quick, no big deal. But my biggest complaint was the lighting. The lights directly above the table were SO BRIGHT! Made it feel like an airport lounge and actually gave me a bit of a headache. Definitely kept us from being able to relax and enjoy our food and drinks because we felt like there was a constant spotlight on us. We visited Brazin Public House for a brunch/lunch and were quickly seated. Our friendly waiter made several suggestions as we vacillated between brunch or lunch. With the three off us, it was a 2-1 split in favor of lunch. My wife had the Southwest Grain Bowl which she proclaimed was excellent. Her sister opted for brunch and enjoyed her Avocado Toast. I ordered the Margarita Flatbread and really enjoyed it. The flatbread had balsamic drizzled on the top which gave a taste I've never experienced with a Margarita pizza. The large, roasted tomatoes also added a nice touch and taste. Good service is almost becoming a standard in most restaurants we go to and it was certainly evident here. We decided Ed to give this place a shot for dinner on a Thursday night. Kind of a strange atmosphere: we walk in and there are two drunk guys arguing/shouting politics across the bar. It was chilly in there, and it was too bright- sort of like a bar time when they turn up the lights to get everyone out :) The server wiped off our table with a bar rag but didn't dry it so there was that cold wet ick on the table :( The food was actually ok: I had a pizza and my wife had a hamburger. The theme of this restaurant is unclear from the menu, maybe the interior makes it make sense. The burgers are smashed-style as I learned from the Black and BlueJack Burger. The patty was thin and dry because all the juices get smashed out. The blue cheese mousse and marbled blue-jack cheese packed a lot of flavor and the roasted onions and tomato (!) really added a punch. I just wish the burger had been less done so it was at least a little pink; did not stop me from eating every bite. The Cup of Elote Corn Chowder was really good, a play on Mexican street corn with hot sauce and cilantro on top. Rich, a bit spicy, and very filling, it was scrape-the-bowl delicious and I'd definitely get again. Fried Salty Things were definitely for sharing because the portion is large. The fried pickle spears were really good and the fried olives were even better! What a surprise and something I'd love more of. The "cheese curds" are chunks, not curds, and I honestly couldn't tell what they were. They were spongy and basically empty inside when you take a bite. I didn't finish them. Finally the Mediterranean Wedge was odd because the flavors didn't really combine well. A split romaine heart with thick blue cheese (?) dressing just on top, kalmata olives, roasted tomato, plain artichoke hearts, pepperoncini, pickled red onions, feta, and a lemon dill vinaigrette that tasted like cilantro lime and really did not fit. It was okay but not a combination I liked. I ended up eating the vegetable accoutrements separately. Decided to stop here to grab a quick bite while in the area and were pleasantly surprised. From the outside and the ambience, it doesn't seem like it will be much. However, the food and drinks were excellent! I rarely find myself in this part of town, but commented stopping back when I an. Decided on the Elote Chowder and some cauliflower wings. The chowder was incredibly filling. It is definitely a thick chowder. I ended up using the leftovers more like a dip. I loved the cauliflower wings. They were delicious and crispy and used huge pieces of cauliflower, rather than tiny bites that get burned. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area! read more

Not sure why I haven't been here before! Resident of downtown Hopkins and it's so close. Some may think it's a Brazilian steakhouse or fancy from the outside but it blew my mind away! They just updated their menu a few days ago and the owner, Kevin, is also the head chef! Incredible, creative, delicious food at a great price! My wife and I were out for our weekly Saturday new restaurant lunch and we decided to try this new restaurant out, Brazin. It used to be Woody's and it right next to the Optum headquarters in Minnetonka off of Highway 62. The place was pretty empty for noon on a Saturday, but they had a full bar and a good beer draft list. I ordered the 21st Amendment Blood Orange IPA from San Francisco. My wife wasn't hungry and got a tea and I ordered a Cuban with a Caesar substitute for my side, my "Go to" It took way longer than it should, like 20 minutes, especially for only having 8 patrons in the restaurant. I ordered a side Caesar instead of fries and it was all delicious. The bread was perfectly grilled and had a couple of nice hunks of bacon and solid ham and a lot of Cubans don't have enough mustard, this one did not disappoint! Lot of good stone ground mustard. Lots of pickles and the side Caesar was good size with some roasted tomatoes and freshly shaved parmesan. Worth the wait. Server was nice enough, a little slow, but it is a new restaurant. Maybe getting the hang of things. He id check on us a couple of times, which was nice. read more

My friend and I sat at the bar for a Tuesday night Happy Hour and we had a nice experience. The bar tender was welcoming and greeted us kindly, told us about Happy Hour, shared the menu with us, and said he'd give us a few minutes. We both chose our drinks easily and perused the HH menu, which included an item called Chips & Dips! This was kettle chips served with three of their popular dips: Minnesota sushi (pickle/pastrami in it), French onion, and Elote! When the bartenders answered came back we asked about the dips and he said they are popular, so we went with it. While we waited for that and chatted, I looked around the medium-sized restaurant and felt cozy and warm. Not just because of the holiday decor. The restaurant has an inviting backwoods type of atmosphere. When the dips came I almost forgot to take a picture they were so good, so were the kettle chips. Went to Brazin for a quick weeknight date night! We made a reservation but it wasn't too busy! We sat out on the patio which was so nice! They had a huge beer and cocktail list which was very nice. The staff were very nice and helpful. For dinner I ordered a Caesar Salad and a couple of chicken wings. The flavor of the wings were great but the Caesar salad was just okay. I recently went here as part of a group of 8. I was surprised that a 22% tip was added to each of our bills. I have never seen a group tip this high. I ordered the nachos, asking for no cheese, but it came with cheese, the tortillas were dripping with oil as they must have deep fried them as well as the pieces of chicken. We didn't know that they opened 5 days prior when we walked in, but the bartender let us know that they are a newborn. We were fine with that and we saw that they were slammed inside and out - almost every table was full. I do have to question why they let every table be seated when they don't have staff and procedures ironed out. Because of that, service was slow. Bar tenders shouldn't be serving tables. The Hawaiian BBQ flat bread was very bland, we couldn't taste any sauce at all. There were no pickled onions, we didn't taste or see any cilantro or the Chile honey. Only big chunks of pineapple, large jalapeños and some pulled pork. We told the bar tender and she gave us a side of BBQ sauce which made a huge difference, but it was a huge miss overall. Flatbread seems hard to mess up, but there you have it. Walleye tacos were good, flavor was good, but not spicy. It had been years since I was at the previous establishment, but the interior didn't seem very refreshed. It will be a decent "local" for people nearby, but after the first look, it won't be a destination restaurant for us. read more

We dined at this establishment for the first time after they'd been open for about two weeks. We were seated immediately, as the place was not very busy. It took a while to get served, however. When the server did come to our table to take our drink order, she seemed very flustered and continued to be that way the entire time (she kept forgetting to put in a second drink order, etc.), but I didn't blame her much because they seemed to be understaffed and the place started to get busier. I can overlook slow service or mistakes when a restaurant is fairly new. What I can't overlook is how incredibly disappointing the food was, especially considering the owner was there walking around. There is no way the prime steak sandwich I ordered should have been served. It was way overcooked and it had a huge chunk of gristle in it. The fried salty things appetizer we ordered was just okay. The breading fell off the pickles, the cheese was a little weird, and the olives were way too salty (and I love olives). My husband's reuben was lacking flavor and should have been sliced much thinner. Overall, it took us well over two hours to get extremely disappointing food. We ordered 3-egg omelets and didn't want the sides as we are doing a keto diet. First, the omelets were very small and could not have been 3 eggs. Second, since we did want potatoes or toast, my husband asked if he could get some extra vegetables in his omelet. They said they would have to charge extra. Most places we eat at are more than happy to give extra vegetables if you are skipping potatoes or rice. We will not be going back because of their unwillingness to accommodate and we paid $18 for a tiny omelette. The food tasted alright and service was okay, but nothing to rave about. read more

We had a 10% off coupon, so decided to go again on my husband's birthday. He ordered prime rib and I ordered a flatbread and we both had a couple of beers! Everything was delicious! We happened to have the same server who also was very good. When he brought the check, we realized we had forgotten to give him the coupon. He was unable to now take the coupon and offered to send the manager over. The manager (I think may have been the owner) came over. He appeared very grumpy and refused to take the coupon, as it would "be a pain" to rerun it. He may be a great chef but customer service is another matter! Our first visit would warrant 5 stars. However this second visit was less satisfying. The flat bread was excellent and should have 5 stars. Four of us ordered burgers which did not meet the Star Tribune recommendation as being one of the best in the area. We noticed our burgers were ready and sitting on the serving counter for at least 10 minutes before being delivered to us. Meat was overcooked and dry. Fried eggs on burgers were cooked too hard. You know the saying you only get one chance to make a first impression? Well, my first impression was not great. Four of us stopped in for breakfast this morning. There were only a few people there besides us. The person who greeted us seemed bored. Knowing the restaurant had newly opened, we inquired about its theme and what on the menu she would recommend. All we got was "there are new owners," and the pancakes were good. Service was extremely slow--puzzling since as I mentioned there were only a few people there; no apologies from the wait staff or explanation. And my husband's sausages were delivered just as he was taking the last bites of his meal. Again, no explanation or consideration. We did get frequent coffee fill ups. Apparently there was a shift change and a different waitress was there as we finished up. She seemed frazzled. Have to say the breakfast menu is very good, as was the food when we finally got it. But the service needs to pick up for us to return. Wait staff are the first point people you encounter, and they need to be upbeat and personable. And the kitchen needs to speed up on getting the food out in a timely fashion. Hope things go better in the future! UPDATE: Went back for dinner & everything was excellent. Highly recommend! read more
