Trendy spot with good bread and cool hats but TLDR sandwiches were ok. I ordered to go and we had: Tuna salad (4/5): very solid bread. Crispy exterior and fluffy inside. Tuna salad itself was just ok had the typical ingredients. Feel like it was missing something? Chicken parm (3/5): maybe we waited too long? But even then it was like 10 mins.. breading on chicken was soggy and chicken was dry. Good tomato sauce and again good bread. Overall was excited but nothing special, would drop by if I were doing to the beach and needed a sando. Paid $40ish for 2 sandwiches and 1 chip

We were pleasantly surprised by our breakfast at Bread Head! Everything was fresh and really tasty. We sat at the counter facing the street, which made for a nice, relaxing start to our Saturday. The ambiance was welcoming and a great spot to enjoy breakfast. I had the Smoked Salmon sandwich, and it was so good. The salmon, cream cheese, tomatoes, red onion, and sprouts all went really well together. Hubby had the Cowboy Burrito with slow-braised beef, eggs, provolone, roasted poblanos, and tater tots. The house salsa verde gave it a nice kick, and oh added avocado. We definitely plan to come back to try more :)

First experience here, ordering sandwiches to-go last Friday afternoon. Loved the vibes, and the cashier added to that energy (she was so sweet/friendly). My brother raved about this spot and I was craving sandwiches so I offered to pick us up lunch after he recommended I stop here. I wasn't prepared but big advice: bite with caution. Their focaccia x ciabatta hybrid is certainly unique/delectable, but near took out the roof of my mouth with my first bite. Once that pain subsided though, I can see the texture appeal in these sandwiches. I got the Calabrian Turkey which was served with sharp thick slices of Hooks 1 year cheddar, and hefty iceberg leaves. I was thinking these would be great sandwiches to take to the beach- they really hold up. I was just bummed that my brother found his BLT disappointing. I read off all his mods verbatim: light mayo, add onions (extra cost), and they were crossed off the order ticket, but the main call-out was that it came drenched in mayo (and a side of mayo provided as well, ha)...so maybe big modification people this isn't for you. Shout out to the giant brown butter chocolate chip cookie with sea salt or whatever it was on display that was so irresistible to my eyes...and actually tasted how it looked. Spent a pretty penny here but understand the location (along with difficult parking) probably warrants it. My Diet Coke can was $4 but somehow the cup with ice the cashier offered me made it feel more luxe. ;)

Classic Burrito 3/10. Their orange sauce saved it from being dry.

I went in expecting to order a sandwich but they were only serving burritos. They open early, but anything before 11 AM is strictly burritos. Being that this was my first time coming in and then finding out that they only serve burritos if you're ordering before 11 AM doesn't make sense. You're a sandwich shop. You're whole base around your upcoming success is solely on sandwiches. Why open early only to serve burritos?! Actually, they did have 2 sandwhich options for a morning breakfast, but 100% not what I came in looking for. I ended up ordering their Classic Burrito. It was okay. It wasn't a sandwich, like I was expecting to be eating, so that might very well be a mental reason why I didn't care much for it.

Un. real. Do yourself a favor and make the time to visit this little gem of a spot. I ordered ahead online, which made things so easy. Parking is tricky, but I got lucky and got a spot right outside the shop. I took my sandwich to the beach and it was perfect. I got the turkey basil and the ingredients tasted so fresh--I also really appreciate the filling to bread ratio. I cannot wait to try the rest of the menu!! Service was super nice and friendly too!

Excellent focaccia sandwiches! In fact, they might be my favorite one in the LA area so far. I really like both their cold and hot sandwiches. The focaccia is pillowy and tasty and not greasy and the fillings to bread ratio is fantastic! I hope they change their menu regularly so it keeps me coming back.

When I first passed Bread Head there was a long line and I was immediately intrigued. I tried Bread Head on a Saturday shortly after they opened. It was not busy which I appreciated. It's a nice vibe sandwich shop that I imagine is great to get lunch at after a beach day. I decided to share a sandwich with my boyfriend and we decided on the cold Tuna Salad sandwich. I really don't know if it what we ordered but this sandwich was below mid. It was so bland and disappointing. I also assumed the bread would be nice and fresh but it felt like two day old bread. Nothing special at all. It also was $16 and felt too expensive for what it was. I thought I'd at least get a pickle...lol. I also ordered an iced coffee and it was so bitter. I asked for oat milk and got charged like a dollar more for a SPLASH of oat milk which felt kind of ridiculous. I heard good things about the chicken parm sandwich and can see the hot sandwiches being better but I don't know if I would truly come back. I do not understand the hype of this place.

First time trying their sandwiches, they are yummy! the turkey pesto was my favorite. all of the sandwiches had a lot of meat, the turkey pesto also had a lot of avocado! the muffaletta was my least favorite just because i am not big on olives i liked how they gave us a side of marinara sauce to dip the chicken parm sandwich in! the only thing that was not very good was that we tried to order on doordash but it said the restaurant was closed (this was around 1pm) and we called and the lady said we could only order in the restaurant. eventually we waited a little and was able to order online. but overall sandwiches were good portions and i would go again if i am in the area

We came for the videos ! Its true. The bread is delicious and memorable!! The focaccia recipe is crisp and soft at the same time plus my chicken salad was done so nicely, a housemade with sliced apples, herbs and apple butter. OmG! Now I'm going to dream about it.my hubby had the hot company grinder and stated it was amazing ! I know it's paired well with chips but we had our sandwiches solo. I would love this with sweet potato fries tbh because it would compliment eachother. I must go again!!

Been wanting to try this place since they opened... Conveniently located a couple of steps before the Manhattan Pier, came in on a Saturday mid morning, it was already busy with a line that moved along quickly, was greeted by the friendly cashier ( forgot her name ). I settled for the Smoked Salmon Sandwich, with well balanced portions of thin tomato, whipped cream cheese, salt, smoked salmon and radish sprouts that had a nice crunch to my sandwich... the only bummer was I almost swallowed a thick fish bone :/ Over all can't wait to try the rest of their menu....

I heard about this place via Instagram. They have an excellent location right by the pier. It's a great place to pick up sandwiches if you're hanging out at the beach. Sometimes, there's a line out the door if you come during peak lunch hour but there is also an option to order online. They have tables inside and outside if you choose to dine in. Staff is friendly. My husband and I tried two of their sandwiches: the Combo Grinder and the Turkey Pesto. The Combo Grinder is very meaty, thick, flavorful and a good option if you like Italian style deli meats. I personally prefer the lighter, fresher, nutty flavor profile of the Turkey Pesto. Both sandwiches were tasty and overall good but not amazing. The bread they use though is delicious and on the crispier side. To me, the best sandwich is still Mamie in LA but this is definitely a decent spot if you're craving sandwiches in the beach cities. Parking: can be difficult. Street/meter/garage parking nearby.

Came here for lunch during the work day with my team The parking is horrible fyi...we parked in the 24 mins few blocks away and kept feeding the meter. The shop has seating indoors and outdoors The staff is friendly kind. Service is quick They have a variety of sandwiches, veggie and meat options. I ended up getting the chicken salad sandwich. It was so good..It had apple slices, so the sandwich was refreshing crunchy. Perfect for a warm day. DIdn't feel all heavy after eating. The bread on this sandwich, is very crunchy, lol tore up the roof of my mouth. I will definitely be back or at least be ordering pick up/doordash to avoid the lack of parking.

Let's take all the hype away from the place and face the reality of the sandwich you are eating. I came this afternoon and was incredibly disappointed. The chicken salad sandwich had huge chunks of chicken, many of which had no sauce, just plain chicken. There's an ingredient in there...something spicy? Horseradish? Whatever it was, terrible. I love a chicken salad sandwich and this one was the worst I have tried. My boyfriend ordered the turkey pesto sandwich and likewise, not good. The bread looks like it would be delicious and it is not. You're waiting in a long line, inside a trendy place, and high expectations which I certainly had. There's limited to no seating on a weekend afternoon. This review is regarding the food alone. Not the service which was perfectly fine. I can't imagine coming here when Mickey's exists.

Over the last few weeks the breakfast burritos have gotten smaller, why is that? They are still tasty, i just know they have gotten smaller.

It did not disappoint, Roberto O. took my order and he pretty much suggested what to get as far as a sandwich (based upon my restrictions) and the chips that would complement the sandwich. He recommended the Firebird sandwich and the Funky cushion chips (which is a mixture of salt/vinegar, mesquite BBQ, etc.). After receiving my order, I wanted to view the sandwich and take a bite. I was parked in the 15 minute parking space and one bite turned into eating half the sandwich and bag of chips in my car! I'm very picky about sandwiches and sandwich spots, but this is my new go-to!

I ordered "the melrose" which seemed to be their flagship sub. It was at the top of the menu--seemed to be basically a turkey bacon ham club type of deal with a kick. Despite there being probably at least 15 ingredients, all I could taste was mayonnaise. The entire texture? Mayo. Blech. I didn't eat the second half. Solidly OK if you like mayonnaise. Who knows. Maybe "the melrose" just ain't the thing to get here. Not so sure I'll be back though.

My order: * The Farm Club: You really can't go wrong with this one. The pickled red onions and herb aioli give it such a nice tang compared to a standard club sandwich. The turkey was high-quality and the bread held up perfectly. * Spicy Curried Couscous: I had to grab a side of their signature couscous, and it didn't disappoint. It has that signature roasted cauliflower and just the right amount of spice to balance out the sandwich. It's easily one of the best sides on their menu. The highlight of this visit was definitely sitting outside (inside is ok, a bit noisy and crowded). The patio area is clean, spacious, and perfect for catching some sun while you eat but most tables are shaded by umbrellas. Even though it's right off PCH, it's a great spot to relax and enjoy the El Segundo breeze. A couple Tips: * Parking: The plaza can get a little tight during the peak lunch hour, so give yourself a few extra minutes or try to arrive just before the 12:00 PM rush. * Ordering: If you're in a hurry, their mobile pickup is always super seamless at this location and can help you get in and out or you can take your food and eat in the park like courtyard area. I'll definitely be back next time I'm craving a solid sandwich and some fresh air!
