5 stars for location, SERVICE, allowing dogs and super beautiful inside and patio. There's an actual tree inside and the lighting from the sunshine into the place is perfect. There's a bar and big TVs playing football too. The food I ordered I personally didn't like. The menu is extensive for breakfast and pretty lacking on lunch in comparison. I would have loved soup, but no soup for me. I have an angry stomach and it was harder to find small portions of good for me food. Everything is large. I ordered a Gluten free breakfast pizza that said it came with eggs, sausage and bacon. It was a glob of cheese for the bottom with pieces of bacon and sausage and a mound of eggs on top and a very rich sauce on top. The sauce was too rich for me and the cheesy melt Mrs on the bottom was not good. I didn't eat it after trying. The service though is very good. I didn't complain, but couldn't eat my food. It was taken off the Bill and I felt bad about it just because I figured it was my fault for ordering it. I did order the churro pancake bites w/fruit to start which were ok. It comes with fruit but it is dusted with sugar so too sweet. The bites weren't anything I'd recommend. My kid got the waffle s'more with Nutella and loved it. The kids menu is very cheap in cost (like $5) and includes breakfast and lunch items in small portions which is great. I need to order off that menu. I think if you long to eat rich desert food or fatty food and are sharing our like a large quantity, this is a good place. If I did it again, I'd order a salad and a smoothie. I thought the prices were reasonable for the huge amounts, but I would rather pay same prices for less food that had less fat and sugar. read more

The atmosphere and food options are great. My bacon bits were clearly straight from a bag, disappointing for the price. I would have expected freshly made and chopped bacon. Otherwise my food tasted perfect, but the Hormel really overpowered things. Not our waitress, but other staff members had perfume that also affected the taste of my food. The food is great and the portions are really large. I haven't had anything myself or my family haven't enjoyed. They have an amazing patio with misters and heaters and the whole restaurant opens to an open concept. The interior has great ambiance with a tree in the middle and a bar with plenty of tv's to watch sports. The only critique is the service tends to be a little slow. Love breakfast and brunch yet so hard to find spots that cater to a keto diet. I was so excited to see they had a full keto menu and not just one or two things. BKB did not disappoint. Stopped in for breakfast with my husband yesterday for his birthday. I liked that they offered the yelp waitlist and I did use it. If you are looking for this restaurant via google maps, put in the name of the restaurant and not the address. We sadly put in the name and were taken to the other side of Desert Ridge, so we ended up walking all the way through the mall. It helped after breakfast, but not when we were trying to find the place. We were seated quickly and the server did come to us right away with waters and then coffee once my hubby ordered it. The menu offers a good variety of items, healthy and not so healthy (which isn't a bad thing at all.) My husband opted to get an omelet. He went for the 3 cheese omelet with the green chili pulled pork added and the roasted potatoes. Since I love eggs Benedict, I opted for their traditional Benedict and decided to try the hashbrowns. We wanted to try both potato options. My husband loved his food and ate almost all of it. I tried both of his and they were great. I would have to say his potatoes were a LOT better than mine. They were not the traditional square roasted potatoes, but instead a thicker style potato chip. Now my meal. The eggs Benedict were okay. Sadly, the eggs were under done. (Wiggly/raw white) Getting a perfect poached egg is difficult, which is why I opt for them at restaurants and not too often at home. I get the idea to add spinach to the Benedict's to give it a semblance of healthy, but they quantity was a bit overwhelming. As for the hasbrowns I opted for, I regretted it. It looked good, but it did not deliver. The inside was cold and the seasoning rosemary or another herb, was overwhelming. To the point that my mouth started to feel numb from the amount. I ended up leaving most of it. My husband tried it too and was not thrilled either. While, our server checked on us a couple of times, which was great, she did become a little pushy toward the end of the meal. She stopped by twice while we were both still eating food and asked if we were done? And the second time when she stopped by she even brought the check, making us feel like we needed to get out. This did not make us feel welcome or honestly really want to come back, which is sad because some of the food was decent. There wasn't a line or anyone waiting so not sure why she was trying to rush us out the door. This was such a lovely place to have brunch at. It has an outdoor patio that is shaded which is perfect for being able to enjoy the Arizona outdoors without suffering through the sun exposure. The wait time was a bit long, but there are plenty of shops nearby to occupy yourself with while waiting for a table. I ordered the churro waffle and the iced chai tea latte. The churro waffle was absolutely delicious... perfect for someone with a big breakfast sweet tooth like myself. However, if you're not into sweet breakfast options, the menu offers a wide selection of healthier options. The iced chai was delicious as well. This has quickly become one of my favorite breakfast joints. They open early which is nice, you can waitlist on yelp, and they have a dog friendly patio. The steak burrito is still my favorite, but I mix it up with the chicken and waffle sandwich, chilaquiles, and the south of the border benedict. Come here on your birthday and have the free churro waffle. Better yet bring your friend on their bday and eat half of their waffle. Atmosphere is lovely for a good social time. Especially love the live trees and full outdoor-brightness, indoors. The menu choices are wonderful, there is something for every type of diet here. The service was acceptable as far as timeliness and accuracy of order but we encountered at least 3 different staff and they all lacked common hospitality of genuine smiles and eye contact; mostly girls in their twenties. It's a busy place, so with this type of service it's easy to feel invisible. Food and atmosphere would bring me back at least once more to see if there was friendlier service next time. read more

This is a "what not to order" review. Salmon Spinach Breakfast Bowl. Burnt (blackened-see phot) cauliflower/broccoli cakes with 0 flavor of veggies, only burnt. Overly pestoed with way too many pine nuts. Salmon would have been great if not for the competing terrible flavors! 2 stars because aside from them not removing the entree from the bill or asking if they could replace it the waitress was nice and environment beautiful. Also, the person I was dining with enjoyed her entree Note: please educate your waiters/waitresses on menu. It sounded as if she had only tried 3 things from your extensive menu. Also, 2 waitresses were confused as to what chai tea is and thought it was coffee even after I pointed out "tea" is literally in the name. I suggested going out for breakfast on New Year's day and hubby said he wanted to do a little shopping after, so we headed to Desert Ridge. This was our first visit to Breakfast Kitchen Bar. It was pretty good, but I'm not sure we'd go out of our way to dine there. It was a bit too chilly for us to sit outside. (I'm always surprised in AZ that we never see the outdoor heaters on in the mornings, when it is usually chilliest.) They have plastic dividers separating the tables, so the tables were still pretty close. My husband, who is the thin one in this relationship, had to squeeze between the table and the divider and was still worried he was going to knock it over. I don't drink very often, but decided to order a Mimosa. I'm sure most people would probably be thrilled that it was mostly champagne with just a hint of orange juice, but I would have preferred a little more juice. There are so many options on the menu, and while I'd been thinking eggs benedict when I decided we'd go out for breakfast, for some reason, that idea left my head by the time we sat down and instead I ordered the classic french toast - with a side of extra crispy bacon. The french toast was good and I enjoyed the honey ricotta; and the bacon was nicely crisp. Hubby ordered the Philly cheesesteak bowl which he really enjoyed. Service was decent. I honestly couldn't pick our server out of a lineup as I had my back to her most of the time and didn't want to turn to face her when she was standing next to me because Covid and there was no possibility of keeping 6 feet between us. We have been here on numerous occasions and always come back because they had such good options for gluten free diets. In addition, everything was clearly marked on their menu. Things have changed. Our server was very nice and tried to say nothing had changed, but they just got new menus. And very few items were makes gluten free. She also said the their whole Keto menu is gluten free, but again not marked at all. When you have celiac's, you just can't assume that when a menu says Keto Friendly, that means Gluten Free. Even though the server explained it that way. Additionally...and this just boggles my mind, they don't offer gluten free bread . With all the diet issues and food allergies people suffer with, why would you not do something as simple as to have this substitution available. I ordered a three cheese omelette... With the side salad, because I thought I would be safe with that. I requested the omelette, soft, and the dressing for the salad on the side. When I received it, the omelette was very well done and the salad wasoverdressed. The server was prompt to take my order back and have it redone... Which I appreciated. The replacement salad was good. However, when I got the omelette back, it was soft, however, none of the cheese was melted in it. So I ate my salad and waited for the cheese to melt... Which I did not. So I figured I would just leave it and take it home to eat at a later time. The server was very gracious and apologized for the mixup, and she took the cost of the omelette off of our bill. That was greatly appreciated. Again... Not sure if we will be coming back after this situation and, the fact that they don't identify their gluten-free options or have at least gluten-free bread. read more

My wife and I went there for the first time as we had seen it while shopping at Desert Ridge. Looked like a nice place. It was raining so there was a wait for seating inside and a lot of people standing in the door way. Noticed most people seating in the bar area were just waiting on tables. When some seats opened up at the bar we sat down and I told the hostess that we were going to eat at the bar. As we felt it wasn't right to take seats at the bar and take away from the bartenders. We were greeted fairly quickly and told the bartender we were going to eat at the bar. She got us menu's and said she was going to get us some waters. Almost 10 minutes later we saw her walking towards us with waters. At that time a different couple that had been waiting for a table in the dining room got up as there table was ready. At that time a group of 4 that had just walked in and given the hostess their name had the 2 ladies take the seats. The bartender stopped to greet them and proceeded to give them the waters and talk to them then went and got 2 more waters for the gentlemen standing took drink orders from all of them made and served them drinks in the same time another large group got up from the bar to be seated she proceeded to wipe the bar down so the 2 gentleman could set. Then another couple set down she took their drink order and served them. None of them were eating at the bar. Finally after serving those 6 people she remembered us and brought us water. We placed our drink and food order. She continued to make other peoples drinks that had clearly ordered after us. Our food arrived and they had my order wrong the runner took it to the back dumped the fried eggs off the top of my food and put some bagged scrambled eggs on it and brought it back. Still no drinks. As I was eating my breakfast bowl I noticed a weird smell. I had smelled it before and couldn't quite remember what it was. Didn't eat much of it because it wasn't very appetizing $65 later for 2 breakfast and macchiato as I got in my car I realized what it was I was smelling rotten peppers they put in my food. Disappointed is a good description. Frist, they brought us to a table that was wobblier than a drunk on a tightrope. The one leg was "fix" by one of the linen napkins. See the image in photos.
