I went here for Mother's Day brunch. I had reservation and so seating was almost immediate. They have a good variety of Pan-Asian brunch dishes. I ended up ordering their Pork Belly Fried Rice , Crab Burrito and side of Pancake with side of Fries. Pork Belly Fried Rice was absolutely delicious. The pork was perfectly cooked and crispy. I would definitely try this place again for the food. Though I didn't like the service that much. They were not very cordial.

We had a great time here for a girls lunch. Service was fast and accommodating. We love the ambiance of the restaurant. They even have a bag stand for all the ladies. We enjoyed the coffee and food here.

Such a cute brunch spot! I came here with a party of 3 on Sunday morning. We were seated after 10-15 minutes and the interior is so pretty! We ordered the Pandan Waffles and Fried Chicken, spring rolls, and Pho Banh Mi Dip. The pho was my favorite!! The portion was great and packed with a lot of flavor. The service was super quick and out server was nice. I would definitely come here again and try more dishes. So good!!

this is a vietnamese fusion brunch spot and as someone who is vietnamese, I LOVE THIS PLACE!! FOOD: delicious and unique pho poutine 10/10 - the pho flavor comes through SO well - i cant fathom a pho poutine tasting better than this RBF 10/10 - pandan waffles, fried chicken, ca phe sua da Syrup - such a genius combination..... i think about this dish very often and what i compare to whenever i try other chicken and waffle dishes Coconut coffee 9/10 Pork belly fried rice 7/10 - standard! nothing extraordinary but delicious :) Banh xeo tacos 6.5/10 - I personally wouldn't order this again. The idea is good in theory but I left wishing I got more out of it. I wish the shell resembled like a banh xeo more ube pancakes I only had a bite of this and WOW the ube flavor really comes through Service: - Very accommodating when it comes to seating. I've has a party / reservation for 10 people before - I love coming here for birthdays, they always give the birthday person a treat :) Ambiance: - Lovely decor and space - Every time I've come here, there's a DJ. I don't mind, but it's definitely not the typical brunch vibe you would expect as DJ can get loud.

We recently visited a modern fusion Vietnamese restaurant in Los Gatos for breakfast and brunch, which features a DJ. The place was bustling when we arrived, but fortunately, we had made a reservation a few days in advance. The interior is beautifully designed, resembling a Western restaurant rather than an Asian one. The restaurant offers full bar service, including cocktails, wine, and a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The menu is pleasantly concise. For appetizers, we chose the Banh Xeo Taco and Pho Poutine. For the main course, we ordered the Resting Brunch Face (RBF) and Crispy Pork Belly Fried Rice. We also tried the "Sleep When You're Dead" (Café Sua Da) and coconut coffee. The food was delicious. I particularly enjoyed the Banh Xeo Taco and Crispy Pork Belly Fried Rice. The coffee was also excellent. While the prices are on the higher side given the portions, it's understandable given the Los Gatos location and the unique dining experience they aim to provide.

Love catching up w/friends in their modern and spacious dining area.

First timers here and we were seated right away on a Tuesday noon. Food- we ordered crab benedict, Fried pork belly fried rice, Burrito, Welcome to America and Fo sizzle. Everyone agreed the food they ordered are all great tasting especially the crab benedicts potatoes are well seasoned. The Fo sizzle great but on the small side of serving the same goes for pork belly fried rice it is soooo good but kind of really small serving. Should have ordered two of those. Taste and presentation wise- great. Serving- is not hefty to feel full, again should have ordered two. Service- the reason I gave 5 stars. The guy server was attentive and does not need to be called for refills of water. Whoever is working that July 28 Tuesday, he's a great server! And the other cause for my 5 stars is the Oooo-Bae pancakes yes it was so delish! You gotta order that. Surprising fact: It's two restaurants in 1 place. Daytime- Breaking Dawn and later in PM becomes FirstBorn Restaurant. So in AM they have brunch menu and at night a different food options. I have yet to try First Born. And Oh the place is nice and modern , decent and clean tand they have a bar!

This place is great!! Loved the ambience! The vibe is kinda swanky when you walk in, but the service is super chill and the menu is casual Asian fusion brunch. Everything we had was delicious!! The Vietnamese coffee was BOMB!!! 5/5 would recommend! My friend & I shared the pork spring rolls (5/5), fo shizzle (4/5 - meat was super tender but a bit fatty for me, egg stuck to the bottom of the cast iron), and the ooh bae pancakes (5/5). Would absolutely come back & try more things! Bring your appetite. We were STUFFED!!

A heavily-hyped (by Tik Tok and Instagram influencers) brunch spot in downtown Los Gatos I was prepared to be bored by, yet surprisingly, despite all the flash, had decent food. I hate the ambiance. The DJ is too loud, tables are too tightly packed together, and everything about it screams Snapchat filters. Service was totally fine - though I never did figure out why they have robots on the side of the room. Parking is a nightmare. But the food: pretty good. The pandan waffle was well made, even though there are better options in East San Jose. The chicken that came with benefited from sauce. The tacos coated with shrimp had a nice distinct Vietnamese flavor. It's interesting fusion, especially for brunch, but it works despite all the glitz around it.

This place left us absolutely speechless. The best thing about a restaurant is when they offer dishes you can't find anywhere else, and this is one of those places. Starting off with atmosphere, the dining room is elegant when it comes to the look and even the gold trimmed furniture. There was also surprisingly a DJ playing the entire time (throwback R&B jams that fit the brunch vibe). RBF: subbed the coffee syrup for coconut syrup and it paired really well with the pandan waffle. The chicken are thighs compared to some places that will just use tenders and the breading tasted so flavorful. Pho poutine: what I meant by something you can't find anywhere else! It's definitely meant to be shared - super filling and such a unique dish. Banh mi pho dip: probably our least favorite as the meat is definitely chewy, but the broth was really good. We would come back for sure! There's so many dishes we want to try.. but I don't know if I would even want to get anything else with how good the above was already!

    Banh Xeo Tacos

All staff members were so nice. Food came out pretty fast and the portions were filling. The Banh Xeo tacos are worth trying but I wouldn't order again. The RBF was filling and the pandan waffles weren't too sweet and subtle. The Banh Mi dip was really good and filling as well. I would order it again.

    Loco Moco

Food Noodle please ($17) + Prawn ($10) - It was fine but I'd skip it. It's like garlic noodles and kind of on the heavier side. Loco Moco ($24) - I'd order this one again. It's a beef patty with a sunny side up egg on a bed of rice with gravy. Tasty and the pickled onions help cut some of the fattiness. There was a lot on the menu that seemed intriguing but there was only so much I could order. Service It was fine. Got seated almost immediately and food came out at a reasonable time. Nothing over the top but also not neglected. Ambiance They have a burger bot which is fun to watch. It's a nicer up scale restaurant. It's heavily Vietnamese inspired infusion spot.

such a unique asian fusion brunch place, especially with vietnamese dishes I've never thought i would see at a brunch spot! RBF 8/10 - this was their take on chicken and waffles. they made a pandan waffle (very viet) with a cafe su da (viet coffe) syrup, which i thought was super interesting, it actually tasted like a coffee thick syrup. the chicken was pretty big and juicy Vietnamese Coffee 7/10 - this was not bad, i like mine tasting like the classic vietnamese coffee, so if you want something more elevated and creamier, this is what they were going for Banh Xeo Tacos *discontinued* - these tacos were massive! and they loaded it up with the protein, it was more like 2 burritos. i actually enjoyed these alot since they grilled the protein, but it was a little hard to eat bar area is beautiful and they have live dj's here sometimes, which can get pretty loud and hard to talk, but love the ambiance and the decor here!

    Churro French toast

ABSOLUTELY loved coming to this place, I actually came here two days in a row their interior and menu is so aesthetic also! First their pho poutine fries: what a fun unique combo of an appetizer that's both crispy and soft from the pho toppings. It's a LARGE plate too so you can definitely share this. Absolutely must have is the churro French toast, it's a Hawaiian sweet bun with a vanilla custard stuffed inside!! It comes with 4 pieces so it's the perfect little sweet treat to share. The loco moco was ok, only because I like my gravy a little more thick and this one was definitely thinner! RBF?! Amazing pandan waffle with three pieces of boneless chicken breast? Thigh? Either way deliciously crispy. It comes with a hazelnut syrup on the side and it all pairs wonderfully. Our server both days came to check in multiple times and the food comes out quickly! Definitely come check out the vibes! Sometimes they have a live DJ as well on weekends!

Ask the Community - Breaking Dawn Brunch

Is the dj playing during the morning hours on the weekends?

We have a DJ on Saturdays and Sundays from 10-3!

I'm thinking of taking my family of 6 for dinner in Carmel, but I've been hearing so many good things about this place just not sure if you serve dinner, do you? It's for our 29th year anniversary. Thank you in advance for your reply!

Hi there! We are so happy that you've decided to dine with us! Congrats on 29 years! At night we turn into a dinner restaurant called First Born! Same building, different menu! Check us out on instagram @firstbornlosgatos or visit our website at…

    When is the live music?

When I had lunch/brunch, there was a DJ playing music which is not LIVE music.

Are kids under 21 allowed inside? Me and my girlfriends have babies and just needed a quick brunch with the moms but we got turned down by a couple of restaurants. apparently, anyone below the age of 21 are not allowed to some restaurant-bars.

I have definitely seen kids in there, but I would get there by 10:30 to make sure you get a good table. They don't take reservations as far as I know

Is there anyway we can make a reservation?

At this point there is no reservation. It's first come first serve. I had 16 people and still have to wait.…

Are DJ daily or just on weekends?

    Thursday thru Sunday's

Do they take reservations? If so, do I just call?

Not that I can tell, but you can always call ahead, especially if you're bringing a large party. I'm sure they'd appreciate the courtesy call.

On my most recent trip, our reservation unexpectedly grew by a few people, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. We really appreciated how hard they worked to make it happen! The cocktails are next level creative, delicious, and unlike anything you'll find at your average bar. My absolute favorite is the Bidi Bidi Bom Bom shot! And of course, we always order the caviar because... why not? The vibe here is everything. Whether it's girls' night, date night, or a celebration, there's always an amazing crowd. The DJ knows exactly how to read the room and keeps everyone singing along/ dancing with banger after banger. One night there was even a live saxophonist who absolutely stole the show, it made the whole experience feel so special! I also love the Renaissance inspired artwork by the entrance featuring icons like Drake, 2Pac, Sade, and more. It's such a cool touch and adds to the atmosphere. Second Story never misses, and I already can't wait for my next night out here!

The only minor downside was that the sodas were very flat and tasted a bit syrupy. Other than that, everything was fantastic. The prices were reasonable, the portions were generous, and the overall experience was excellent for such a cute spot in downtown Los Gatos. Will definitely be returning soon!

There is mostly only street parking, though nearby there are some parking lots and a underground parking garage just a short walk away. The ambience inside is nice with mood lighting, lots of dark wood, elegant decor, & house music. They have a covered patio area for outdoor dining, in addition to a couple of other tables. The inside has booth seating and standard table seating. A nice bar area with engaging and friendly bartenders. Two separate women's restrooms and one multi-user men's restroom. From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding! The hostess was helpful and welcoming who promptly brought us to our table and recommended some of her favorites. Our server was Therese who took excellent care of us. She was welcoming, friendly, and attentive. Also, the manager came around to check up on us, to make sure we didn't have last calls right before the kitchen closed. That was considerate. We decided on ordering the... Grilled Pork Chop: bourbon marinated grilled peach compote, peach, red onion & tomato salad (4/5). The presentation was gorgeous. A Sous vide pork chop with grill marks cooked to a medium temperature. Savory and complemented with the tangy, spicy, and tart salad. A tad heavy handed on the salt for the sauce, otherwise, it was still delicious. Gnocchi Ragu: lamb bolognese, pecorino (4/5). The meat sauce was delicious. The gnocchi itself was sizeable and decent. Fries (4/5) - medium shoe string cut fries that were hot, crispy, and lightly seasoned. So fresh and right out of the deep fryer. Parkside Bread Pudding: vanilla gelato, pecan praline (4/5). This was delicious. Therese was told by the kitchen staff that they unfortunately ran out of the pecan praline when she brought it out. Though, it was still decadent and divine. Therese even brought us a complimentary beignets for a birthday celebration. We will be back! Congratulations to Los Gatos Parkside on almost 3 years here in LG. Support your local business.

The dining area is spacious. Even with lots of tables, the space didn't feel cramped. There's a mechanical burger station against the wall too. Someone ordered a burger so I was able to see it in action. That was fun to watch. Everything we ordered, from the small bites to the dessert, was excellent! Rice Bites was tasty, and the rice had a good crunch. Truffle Fries was good, though I've had better. Caesar Salad was good as well. Shake'n Beef was tender with good flavor. As You Wish - the chicken was moist and delicious. The Ube sticky rice gave the dish a nice sweetness. Couch Potato cocktail paired well with the As You Wish entree. The chocolate dessert (can't remember the name) was very rich. Have with coffee. The banana dessert (can't remember the name either) was very good. Too easy to eat, very light and not too sweet. I will definitely be returning!

I wish they had an option for chopsticks, but thats just my prefernce. Service was attentive and quick. I would come back for the food alone. Drink: We ordered Pepper Garden booze free drink and it was better than the alcoholic drink we got. Food: ordered the Fun Guy battered mushrooms which were a great substitute for fries. The sauce it came with was missing something I couldnt put my finger on but i dipped those in the fish sauce and they were so good. Sugar Cane pork skewers were one of our favorites. Well seasoned pork, fish sauce, and pickled veggies. It was like a deconstructed spring roll you put together with lettuce boats. As You Wish chicken and ube sticky rice was our favorite dish. The glaze on the chicken went so well with the sticky rice. Butter Chicken was so flavorful and somehow light. Usually Butter Chicken is heavy but not here. Because we were celebrating a birthday, they gave us a complimentary chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream and some berries. If youre looking for a variety of tasty Asian dishes at one location, good drinks, and good service in the area, give this place a try.

Every item I've tried has been delicious. The ingredients are always fresh, creative, and full of flavor. The cocktails are a huge plus (smooth, well-balanced, and a work of art!), the service is excellent, and the ambience is beautiful. Love the warm Middle Eastern vibe (makes me feel like I'm getting a glimpse of the culture). Definitely going back and want to try their brunch next! Cool how it's located right next to Los Gatos Soda Works so we could just grab drinks next door after dinner. Design and ambiance was a nice blend of indoor and outdoor with plenty of seating. Lighting's immaculate outside with the soft natural sun coaxing around the redwood tree. Food's decent, not outstanding. Website says they're the same owners of Tamra, a restaurant that closed down a few years ago in Sunnyvale which we both coincidentally tried as well. The menu is actually pretty reminiscent of it. We ordered the pomegranate braised lamb shank, the confit duck pastilla, the date chermoula kufta, the Mediterranean trio, and a few cocktails. The unilateral thing that was missing from all dishes was spice. Maybe intentional, but the palate leaned into sweet and savory. The kufta was better than expected -- beefy, tender, flavorful, and great with the sweet & zesty sauces. The pastilla was the standout with fun flaky texture of the pastry and the nice warm shredded duck. The duck was seasoned well and was reminiscent of pork. The beet spread was fresh and light, the hummus was plain, the labneh was too loose imo - just tasted like Greek yogurt out of the container. Giving credit where it's due, the lamb shank was better than it was at Tamra. However, the flavors and textures all just kind of melded together so it lacked depth and interest. Had the familiarity of a basic beef stew. Onto service. Abysmal. It wasn't busy. Nobody there to greet at the door, wait staff just wandering aimlessly around, food's drop and go, took quite a while to get someone to take our order and receive our check. In a word, very transactional. If this was a pho restaurant or dim sum place, I'd be more lax about it but the service sure doesn't fit the market positioning of where this restaurant wants to be in. 3.5 overall for food. It's safe, uninspired, but very much decent. Gotta round down for the service.

All the drinks pair well with the wide range of food options on their extensive menu. There's plenty of seating both indoors and outside, plus several TVs throughout for watching sports. I ordered the Hop Holistics, a fresh, fruity Hazy IPA with a low 5.6% ABV, making it easy to enjoy more than one. I also tried the Alpha Dog West Coast IPA, which has a higher ABV and was another tasty choice, especially with my burger. I went with the smashburger and fries, and it was fantastic. Packed with flavor from the Memphis‑style BBQ sauce, avocado, and pickled red onions on a brioche bun. We were sharing it, and they even split it onto two plates for us -- a small touch we really appreciated. Only complaint was the bartender was NOT friendly at all. We felt like we were making him work. Definitely need to get someone that wants to work and not that guy! Despite this, we'll definitely be back to try more of the menu and enjoy another brew.

We were driving to Santa Cruz on Memorial Day and it was such jam packed crazy peak traffic taking hours to move a mile, we decided to detour and take exit to Los Gatos. Now I've been to this cute rich neighbourhood city couple of times and enjoyed a lot. We parked at nearby garage. It was so damn now so loved the outdoor seating concept with play area for kids. My son loved running around here! Beer flight was decent, I didn't like any of the 4 beers given. We had pesto chicken sandwiche. It was not warm and tasted very normal Fried were cold and not seasoned well too. But it's great for outdoor seating and chilling with friends and family Self service , but good and drinks were super quick to arrive.
