The place was packed on a Sunday so I recommend doing the same. Ambiance is very pretty and modern. I really liked the vibe inside. There was a like DJ and the music was really good, very chill. Me and my party ordered: Pandan Waffles w/fried chicken - the waffle was so good! On the sweet side but when paired with the chicken it balanced well. The chicken was boneless which I though was convenient for brunch and the sauce was a coffee syrup. Vietnamese iced coffee- I was scared it would be too strong but it was super smooth! I really enjoyed it. Ube pancakes- the ube flavor was the perfect amount. Not too sweet and not too light. The pancakes were fluffy and overall 10/10. Garlic noodles with tofu- this was the fan favorite from our table. The noodles were slightly sweet with a nice garlic flavor. I don't know what they put in but it was BOMB. Pho Poutin - I wasn't expecting it to taste so much like pho. And I LOVE pho. It was one of my favorites from our meal. The cheese with the potato and pho topping was really unique and it was a fire combo. Shaking beef- the beef was very tender and had a sweet tomato flavor to it. Came here on a Friday. Made reservations through Yelp. We had tried their evening restaurant First Born so wanted to check out their brunch. Parking- was either on the street or a parking lot. No handicap spaces right in the front Service- it was excellent. We were checked on frequently. Ambiance was nice, we were never rushed to finish. Food: -Shrimp Goi: it was very refreshing salad. Light dressing. We finished the whole thing. - RBF (Rested Brunch Face): loved the pan-Dan waffle and the fried chicken was thigh meat so it was not dry. We decided to go in around lunch time and ordered three items. The lemongrass tofu burger, lemongrass banh mi, and the pork spring rolls. These were all decent, but the lemongrass flavor on the tofu was not prominent enough for me. It seemed to only give a lemongrass "essence". The banh mi trumped the burger which did end up getting a little soggy from the bottom. The burger was nothing special. The pork spring rolls definitely stood out for me. Outside of the food, the ambience in the restaurant was phenomenal, and I'm sure the cocktails were good judging by how they looked from others who had ordered. The inside interior is beautiful and great for a date. I love their Iced Coconut Vietnamese coffee! It has fresh shredded coconut on top. I wish it was a bigger size for the price though. Cute place in Los Gatos that serves brunch with a Vietnamese twist. This location also becomes a different restaurant at night time. There is a full bar with seating. The restaurant itself was really clean including the bathrooms. My only complaint is the chairs because it's very hard to get in and out of. We came on a Thursday for brunch and it wasn't busy. Service was fast and dishes came out in a timely manner. Banh xeo tacos were my favorite! The shell was so crispy. Pho poutine was also very rich in flavor. RBF is fried chicken on top of a pandan waffle with fruit and a cafe sua da syrup and the chicken was fried and seasoned to perfection. Ordered: Banh Xeo Taocs, Shrimp Ceviche, and RBF Ambiance: i think the place is super cute, it's lively, there's music playing and when it is busy there is a lot of chattering going on. A perfect brunch place in my opinion. Food: Banh Xeo tacos: YUM. One of my favorite dishes we got. I love banh Xeo on its own and i think this restaurant did a great job keeping the traditional Vietnamese flavors and adding a twist of their own. The shell was crispy, the veggies were crunchy, and the shrimp and meat paired perfectly creating the best bites. It is a little messy i will admit that, but still really good. Shrimp Ceviche: this was probably my favorite dish that i got there. I loved how fresh the ceviche tasted, the coconut milk flavor stood out but did not over power and it was just a refreshing dish to have compared to all the other dishes that were mostly fried. RBF: Pandan waffles. Fried chicken. Cafe Sua Da syrup. I was thrown off by the syrup but surprisingly it fit so well with the dish. What I really like about this restaurant is that they're able to capture the flavors of a specific item. We have been fans since they opened earlier this year. In the early days (ha!) we would go once a week, or two. These days we make it about once a month, and each time we are never disappointed! Our go-tos are the Banh Xeo tacos, pork belly fried rice, spring rolls, and ube pancakes. There are many others that we include in the rotation, including cocktails, but there's too many to list. We were so happy that Breaking Dawn opened, especially after our favorite (Sidecar) closed down. And to make things that much better, they now open for dinner (as First Born)! After an awesome dinner at First Born, we had to try brunch. Started with the $6 cup of coffee (probably my the most expensive cup of (nothing special) coffee I've had at a restaurant. The loco moco was off the hook awesome! Nicely seasoned and well prepared served over a nice pillowy serving of Jasmine rice. The gravy, while not enough, had so much flavor. Not a typical dark rich gravy. This one was quite unique. Again, needed more gravy...Also tried the Ube pancakes. Nice idea and while the flavor was decent, the pancakes were very heavy. Definitely a small pan shaped "Ube cake", versus a traditional fluffy "pancake". But the accompanied coconut cream sauce was absolutely necessary to soften up the cake and give it a nice additional flavor. I probably wouldn't get that Ube dish next time. But that loco moco! The wait time used to be unpredictable bc of the drive coming from San Francisco, then finding parking and having to walk in to put a name down. We really enjoyed our brunch here at Breaking Dawn Brunch - the food is solid and delicious, the decor is beautiful and inviting, and the overall "theme" of the restaurant is detailed and well-thought-out. First, the food. The Big Hass Omelette (good sense of humor on several menu items ...) was fluffy and packed with spinach and cheese. The potatoes were crispy and full of flavor. I appreciate that the salt content of the omelette was low, which by itself made for an average taste, but it is nice to have control over your salt intake. With a bit of salt and pepper, the flavors came out nicely. The Ooh BAE Pancakes comes in a stack of three thin, but soft, cakes which were delicately sweetened. The sea salt crema lends a buttery flavor, however, the coconut syrup adds an extra layer of creaminess and sweetness that brings everything together. Nicely done! My favorite of the meal is the Crispy Pork Belly Fried Rice. I wasn't really expecting much from a fried rice offering, but I was pleasantly-surprised at the marvel novelty of the dish. It is not often you find such a well-crafted dish that gives a wide variety and combination of flavors. Meaning, each item, whether it be the crispy pork belly, the flavored rice, the truffle unagi sauce, the pickled onion or even the sunny side up egg, has a unique flavor that by combining a couple or three or even all of each item gives a uniquely different flavor and texture palette. I had fun trying to find the best combination (I won't spoil it by naming my favorite combo!) of flavors. Finally, I must give kudos to the interior designer, as the decor was beautifully done. Even the restrooms were amazing, from the black toilet, the black and gold wallpaper, the black ceiling, the simple grey stone wash basin with the water works faucet, a vase of beautiful flowers in the corner in the spotlight, and again the black paper towel dispenser. This is such a wonderfully-designed restroom that matches the over-all the of the restaurant's interior. The attention to detail is much appreciated! If I can fault this restaurant, it would be that the tables are set a bit too close. My chair bumped into the person sitting behind me a few times, and I felt a bit cramped getting up and sitting down in my chair. I came here with a group of friends for Saturday brunch at around 1pm. We were quickly seated and it wasn't too crowded. The interior is really beautifully decorated. The only issue we had was with the volume of the music. We were seated right next to the DJ speakers (the DJ had left) the place had a handful of other tables that were seated further away so we asked if they could turn the music down a notch. The staff obliged but idk if they actually turned it down it was still extremely loud and it was hard to converse. I tried the vietnamese iced coffee, RBF & the pho poutine. It is right next to a little parking lot but easily filled quickly on a sunday because of the farmer's market. But we found parking not too far away. Pho Poutine - YES, nice crispy soft inside fries, with cheesy and beefy goodness on top. pleasantly surprised it was yummy and indeed tasted like pho. Garlic Noodles - another surprisingly loud yes! It had a little cheese and some sorta "red sauce" coating. It makes you think of asian mom cooking macaroni noodles with egg and ketchup , IYKYK. we liked this one a lot. banh xeo tacos - only comes with 2, but we added another one for $8.50 I think. it was very crunchy, the fish sauce was perfect. It was pretty hard to eat as a taco, so we just cut it up and used our fork lol. but tasty. We also ordered the pork belly fried rice and ube pancakes - those you can skip. very basic and meh. Both were a bit dry and eh, there are other things on the menu that I would rather try. Service was wonderful, very attentive and super nice. Food looks good as well as tastes good. If Los Gatos wasn't so far away! I would definitely come back more often. read more

We came here for husband's birthday Brunch this year with a reservation. The restaurant decor , tables , chairs and cutlery were all very cute We had a spring roll, Grilled shrimp salad- gỏi tôm, Coconut shrimp ceviche, Shrimp Garlic noodles, Bò né, and Port belly fried rice. Drinks were coconut coffee, Pina panda and one special drink ( forget the name recommended by the Waitress) so yummy All of the dishes were delicious and tasty with a fresh flowers decorated , so...lovely . The Vietnamese tacos - Bánh xèo weren't good because the taco was thick not crunchy and the shrimps were salty.3* The staffs were friendly and attentive. ( 5*!for the service ) We had a great time. I was very skeptical about this place because it reminded me of Son & Garden, which wasn't really good the last few times I've tried it. I'm so glad I got to give this place a try, I love the way they incorporated Vietnamese dishes in a different way. The pho poutine fries are a must try! The gravy tastes exactly like pho broth and the brisket was so tender and soft. The portion is also very big to share. Their fried chicken was juicy and not dry at all, the batter crumbles off as well. The pandan waffles were also good though they don't have too much of that pandan taste you would expect from your Vietnam town waffle but paired with the Vietnamese coffee syrup, it was a good combination! I'd probably skip on their Banh xeo tacos though, while the concept sounded good it was too difficult to eat due to the overstocked lettuce so everything was falling off, the paper was also overly crispy for my liking. Came here for Mother's Day brunch and it was super packed which is a good sign that this place is where we should be. The restaurant decor is on point, classy, modern, and the chairs were super comfy. The servers were very attentive to our large party of 15. It was a little loud so we did have to shout at times to talk but because of the live DJ playing. But dont go here for that, go here for the food! Brunchie Viet fushion food on the menu, everything was a pricey but hey its Mother's Day so we had to spurge on us Moms. I also think because they use a lot of fresh flowers for plating that's why it's pricey too. I'm happy they had a little something for everyone. Here are the appetizers to we ordered to share: Grill pork Spring rolls: $15 (4/5) -You get 4 pieces (well it looks like 2 pieces which they cut in half) and placed an orchid on top. The nem cooked perfectly and the ratio of noodles and veggies were good with the peanut sauce Banh Beo tacos: $19 (4/5) -You get 2 banh xeo shaped into a taco with grill pork and shrimp (such a cute and creative idea and it was good) dipped in the nuoc mam sauce Pho Poutine: $16 (3/5) -Wedge shaped fries with short rib beef on top with cheese. This was just ok even though it sounded good on the menu we had to try it Truffle fries: $13 -Crispy fries with a truffle aoili (you cant go wrong with this) Our Entrees: Pho: $21 (3/5) -The pho was meh dont get it Crispy Pork belly fried rice: $25 (3/5) -The pork wasn't all that crispy, and the $25 price tag doesn't make sense maybe because it has "truffle" unagi sauce? Or maybe since egg shortage the surplus is for the sunny side up egg RBF (Resting Brunch face): $25 (4/5) -Came with a large fried chicken on top of a crispy pandan waffle and a side of cafe sua da syrup (ohh lalala) and berries. This was pretty good and tasty together Crab Benedict: $29 (4/5) -The crab cake was cooked perfectly with a dreamy poached egg on top and smothered with creamy hollandaise sauce oh and it comes with hella potatoes Ooh Bae Pancakes: $19 (4/5) Big fluffy ube pancakes with salted cream and berries and coconut syrup (which is a very good combo) and was all devoured Soufflé pancake: $23 (5/5) -Super fluffy and jiggly pancakes with vanilla crème and berries (must get this and oh its a 25 min wait for it but totally worth it and get jiggly with it) Noods Please: $17 (4/5) -Flavorful garlic noodles, with cheese and furikake! Can't go wrong with this (you can add protein for an extra charge) I think we did over order (me being a fatty) but you know when you wanna try everything you just have to do that so you know what is good to get next time. It's been awhile since I've come across a new brunch spot worth writing about. One of my good foodie friends suggested Breaking Dawn to meet up at since I've never been before. What a great suggestion this was! Situated where the old Blue Line Pizza used to be in Los Gatos downtown, they've transformed the location into a much more chic and fun atmosphere. Not sure when it happens, but apparently they even have a DJ there spinnin' the MP3 some times. Cool decor and good service aside, the highlight of this spot was definitely the food. They take classic dishes and put a bit of an Asian goutmet spin on it. I sampled the Pho Poutine and Pandan Chicken Waffle. Both were oh so satisfying and flavorful. Now I'm looking forward to heading back soon so I can ideally get acquainted with ALL their other dishes! read more

Came to Breaking Dawn and enjoyed it! The Vietnamese flair was fun and the food was tasty. During brunch, there was also a live DJ playing early 2000s hits with intermittent stops to celebrate birthdays and other guest events which was also fun. My friend who was visiting was intrigued by the pho poutine upon looking at the menu and for me, well, I have a hard time saying no to chicken and waffles so the RBF was my order with a salted crema coffee. Food came out pretty quick and between the two, I thought the pho poutine was definitely the winner. While the RBF was prepped exceptionally well, it just didn't have that flavor oomph of the poutine. The crema coffee was also tasty and a nice treat for the weather we're currently enduring. I finally got to try this place! To be on the safe side, definitely make a reservation. We came on a Sunday at 12 PM with reservations, but there were several tables that were open. Parking wasn't bad. The restaurant is spacious, clean, and even has a DJ in the back of the restaurant. I ordered the Pep in Your Step... I definitely didn't taste the alcohol; it was sour. :( As for the dishes, our favorites were the banh xeo tacos and pho poutine! They were soooo good! I would totally go back just to get these again. Unfortunately, we didn't like the RBF. I couldn't taste pandan in the waffle at all, and the chicken was sweet! The ube pancakes were okay too. This is one of my new favorite spots! We were a party of 6. I had the Banh xeo tacos. Yummy!! Can't wait to go back to try something else off their menu. Food was amazing. The most fun names of their plates for lunch! Service is great - staff is super friendly and helpful w/ the menu. The owner came around to chat - she's great! Super trendy upscale spot in Los Gatos.
