Drinks were coconut coffee, Pina panda and one special drink ( forget the name recommended by the Waitress) so yummy All of the dishes were delicious and tasty with a fresh flowers decorated , so...lovely . I was very skeptical about this place because it reminded me of Son & Garden, which wasn't really good the last few times I've tried it. I'm so glad I got to give this place a try, I love the way they incorporated Vietnamese dishes in a different way. The pho poutine fries are a must try! The gravy tastes exactly like pho broth and the brisket was so tender and soft. The portion is also very big to share. Their fried chicken was juicy and not dry at all, the batter crumbles off as well. The pandan waffles were also good though they don't have too much of that pandan taste you would expect from your Vietnam town waffle but paired with the Vietnamese coffee syrup, it was a good combination! I'd probably skip on their Banh xeo tacos though, while the concept sounded good it was too difficult to eat due to the overstocked lettuce so everything was falling off, the paper was also overly crispy for my liking. It's been awhile since I've come across a new brunch spot worth writing about. One of my good foodie friends suggested Breaking Dawn to meet up at since I've never been before. What a great suggestion this was! Situated where the old Blue Line Pizza used to be in Los Gatos downtown, they've transformed the location into a much more chic and fun atmosphere. Not sure when it happens, but apparently they even have a DJ there spinnin' the MP3 some times. Cool decor and good service aside, the highlight of this spot was definitely the food. They take classic dishes and put a bit of an Asian goutmet spin on it. I sampled the Pho Poutine and Pandan Chicken Waffle. Both were oh so satisfying and flavorful. Now I'm looking forward to heading back soon so I can ideally get acquainted with ALL their other dishes! read more

Came to Breaking Dawn and enjoyed it! The Vietnamese flair was fun and the food was tasty. During brunch, there was also a live DJ playing early 2000s hits with intermittent stops to celebrate birthdays and other guest events which was also fun. My friend who was visiting was intrigued by the pho poutine upon looking at the menu and for me, well, I have a hard time saying no to chicken and waffles so the RBF was my order with a salted crema coffee. Food came out pretty quick and between the two, I thought the pho poutine was definitely the winner. While the RBF was prepped exceptionally well, it just didn't have that flavor oomph of the poutine. The crema coffee was also tasty and a nice treat for the weather we're currently enduring. I finally got to try this place! To be on the safe side, definitely make a reservation. We came on a Sunday at 12 PM with reservations, but there were several tables that were open. Parking wasn't bad. The restaurant is spacious, clean, and even has a DJ in the back of the restaurant. I ordered the Pep in Your Step... I definitely didn't taste the alcohol; it was sour. :( As for the dishes, our favorites were the banh xeo tacos and pho poutine! They were soooo good! I would totally go back just to get these again. Tbh it was a bit let down for my friend and I. From price point to execution of flavors. I was looking forward to trying this spot after seeing / hearing how it's a Vietnamese fusion brunch spot. Good thing we made reservations so we didn't have to wait prior to getting seated. Ambiance is upbeat and lively. They have a live dj playing good tunes. However, it can get kinda loud so it's hard to hear others talking. Interior is very fancy. We ordered 2 drinks: "Pep in your step" ($16) and "Pinã Pandan" ($17). Both drinks looked pretty. However, I wasn't a fan. Pinã Pandan needed more pandan flavor. It was pretty nonexistent. "Pep in your step" was strong and not sweet like the server said it would be. Bánh xèo tacos ($19) -- this sounded so good when I read the menu. It came out with 2 big tacos. Because it was so big and crispy, it was difficult to eat and very messy. It broke and I had to eat with a fork instead. My friend said the shell was too oily. Pho poutine ($16) -- ok this sounded interesting as well. Although it may not look the prettiest, this one actually tasted better than I thought. Beef short rib was soft, topped with pho gravy and cheese curds, good flavor of the dish overall. Potatoes were nice and crispy. I would recommend this dish. RBF (resting brunch face) ($25) -- punny name. It had 3 big pieces of fried chicken (dark meat) on a pandan waffle served with a side of cafe sua da sauce. I felt like the chicken needed some spice like cayenne or paprika. The waffle was decent. I couldn't care for the cafe sua da sauce. I don't think it goes well with everything else. Crispy pork belly fried rice ($25) -- the pork was kinda overcooked? Some pieces were too crispy. But if you mix everything together, it did taste good but $25 is too pricey for fried rice! Not worth. I saw pork spring rolls (nem nuong) on the menu and looking at price, it was overpriced since I normally can find cheaper nem nuong rolls elsewhere. P.s there is a Los Gatos surcharge to your bill. We celebrated a birthday brunch here on a Sunday and I will say that everything was so picture worthy. Environment: There was a live dj that played good mood music.. the bar was long and beautiful.. the restaurant isn't THAT big but enough to be able to hold large groups if needed.. the service was also good. For an Asian-fusion brunch spot, this place actually uses Asian ingredients and flavors that are distinct to Vietnamese food. Other fusion brunch spots I have been to have a hint of Asian inspiration but is more American than Asian. The loco moco somehow tastes like pho, and I think they give you chicken thigh (?) for the RBF chicken & waffles. The chicken was really tender and tasted Asian, although I struggled to cut it with the butter knife they provided. The service was very attentive, with members of the staff coming by to check on you and refill water without needing to wait for a waiter. Stopped by for a surprise brunch with a friend on a Saturday and we're able to grab a table outside right away. It was hot, but luckily they had a good amount of umbrella coverage. We had considered eating inside, but the music was super loud. The server was super attentive, he made sure to check on us regularly so we didn't feel "out of sight out of mind" and even brought us extra ice out for our water regularly since it was very warm outside. The food was really good, I love a good Asian fusion! We had spring rolls to start which were solid, but the Banh Mi was the star of the show. I was excited to try Breaking Dawn when it opened earlier this year but was wary of the crowd that accompanies the buzz of a new brunch spot. So I waited a few months before taking my Viet partner and her mom to get there right at opening so we could get a table (no reservations at that point). We were the first to be greeted at the door, and were seated quickly. I was a bit nervous about how my Viet company would feel about the fusion dishes like Pho Poutine and Ban Xeo Tacos. Before we received them, they wanted to try the Ca Phe Sua Da aka Vietnamese Coffee. To my relief, they both thought it was good. The Pho Poutine had a decadent gravy and chunks of stewed beef covering crispy half crescent- shaped fries. It was good but a little heavy for breakfast. The Ban Xeo Tacos were creative but the fried texture made them shell-like and very oily. The Crispy Pork Belly Rice with a fried egg on top is a tasty crowd pleaser. In subsequent trips, we tried the Loco Moco, that also has the same pho gravy on the Poutine. Our Tongan friend who lived in Hawaii thought it was the best Loco Moco he ever had. The Bo Ne was also solid. The Soba Noodle Salad with soybeans is healthy and delicious. The service is friendly and pretty quick. The only negative for me is the loudness of the space. I understand that having a DJ play is part of the owner's concept, but when you've got a big reflective space, pumping loud music into it makes it harder to hear what people are saying and a bit less enjoyable. I'm a musician and former DJ, so I can appreciate music in certain settings at a reasonable volume level. Their Viet fusion dishes are superb, but it would be nice if the ambience of the restaurant enhanced that brunch experience rather than cater to more of a drinking and club crowd. The first time I went I saw a server drop a whole tray of cocktails on this poor table. Right onto two girls and they were drenched. Great new Vietnamese Fusion Brunch! Went to this place for brunch on Saturday and was elegantly surprised. The interior is clean and super nice, white and gold themed. Waiter came by quickly to take our order and often refill offers. The music was a little loud tho, made it a bit hard to converse. I shared the pho poutine and RBF with my girlfriend. The Pho poutine was super good, good fried and the gravy and meat smelled and tasted just like Pho. We got the RBF and the Loco Moco. The quantity is a lot so you definitely get your money's worth. The loco moco tasted like pho with all the green onion, onions, and cilantro. The gravy helps with it too! The burger's texture was like a steak rather than a patty which was shocking. The RBF chicken was delicious. We were hesitant about getting this due to the reviews but saw how the owner acknowledged it. Turns out they did make it better! The breading could be a bit saltier. The waffles were so good. The pandan taste is really subtle but that is from the coffee syrup! The strawberries were perfect too. A lot of places do not provide perfectly ripe strawberries. If you want the worst customer service combined with mid food, come here. My partner booked this place for a special occasion, to announce our pregnancy to our friends and what was supposed to be a special and joyous occasion was completely ruined. Me and my partner arrived about 5 minutes after our friends had ordered and placed our orders. The entire time, everyone's entrees and drinks came out at extremely different times and with long gaps in between. I have never been to a restaurant where entrees were not served all at the same time or within a couple minutes of each other. That's a part of basic service. Is everyone supposed to just watch their friends eat while waiting over 20-30 minutes for their food to come out? Ridiculous. Waiters also never checked in on us or refilled our waters. To make matters worse, my entree never came even when everyone at the table had already finished. We had already notified staff of this and they seemed confused and brought out 2 other entrees nobody ordered instead of the actual entree I ordered. Extremely disorganized. And after all that, they asked if I still wanted my entree, LOL no. This business is a joke. I asked for the bill and to speak with a manager so I can explain to them how negative of an experience I had. She basically came and said "Sorry, we're busy," "well you ordered later than everyone else, so it's normal for your entree to be late," "we comped your meal." I have worked in customer service before, I understand being busy but the customer service we received was deplorable and lacks accountability and basic empathy. It is quite literally not normal to never receive your entree and we only ordered 5 minutes later than the rest of our table. If what she's saying is the case then why did my partner who ordered 5 minutes later with me receive his entree before the friends that ordered before us? Also let not pretend you did me a favor of comping my meal. I never received it. It would have been more understandable if they just said they forgot my order, took accountability for it, and apologized instead of coming up with a fake apology and bs excuses. I asked to speak with the manager (owner) outside so I could explain to her and give her context why I was so upset. It wasn't really about the food or lack of it, it was the fact they ruined a special occasion. It's literally for my pregnancy announcement and I'm the only one who didn't get my food! Breaking Dawn is the latest Asian fusion brunch I tried in the area, and they're coming in hot. I went on an early weekend morning and the restaurant was packed. I didn't have to wait for a seat, but got one of the last available tables. The seating is quite cramped, but the decor is nice. I got the banh xeo tacos, pho poutine, Fo Sizzle, pandan pina colada, and coconut coffee. The coconut coffee was good, but I couldn't really taste the coconut. The pandan pina colada tasted strongly of pineapple, which masked the subtle pandan flavor. If you like pina coladas, this would be good for you. The banh xeo tacos were my favorite, and I thought banh xeo (a crispy pancake) and tacos were the perfect fusion. The Fo Sizzle was basically like a Bo Ne, and the baguette was was very soft on the inside but crunchy on the outside. The sauce on the beef was flavorful and paired well with the baguette. The pho poutine was an interesting combo, but the potatoes were a bit soggy from the sauce. The prices are high, but overall I enjoyed the Vietnamese-California fusion brunch concept here. read more

A pretty fun menu to check out! Vietnamese fusion for brunch is quite unique and worth coming to Los Gatos for. It was pretty busy at 10:30 AM on a Saturday, so definitely come early to secure a table! I enjoyed the Banh Xeo Tacos! The yellow crepe shells are fried, which contributes a lot to texture - so they were crispy, greasy, and packed with flavor! They give a decent amount of pork and shrimp, but a lot of the taco would fall apart after each bite. I would order this again though! We also tried the Pho Poutine, which is making this spot go viral on social media. The fries were crispy on the outside, fluffy inside. I loved the brisket! Very flavorful and definitely was giving PHO BROTH. I think the odd contrast (for me) was the addition of cheese! I love poutine, but something about the pho flavor with cheese was confusing.... but after a few bites, the conbination grew on me! Not a must try, but it was still enjoyable. read more

A fun, modern, and comfy space for Brunch. The food is a great place for American comfort food with a Vietnamese flair. The Banh Xeo Tacos had the perfectly crunchy taco shells and such tender meat. With fresh veggies and an delicious fish sauce, the tacos would be a dish I return for each time! The "Our Breakfast Burrito" had great texture from the kimchi and amazing depth of flavor from the red rice and gochujang. A solid burrito for any meal of the day. The Crispy Pork Belly fried rice also had very tender and flavor full potk with perfectly cooked rice. The ratio of all the ingredients was perfectly balanced and made every bite fun and delicious! Finally, to finish we got the Churro French Toast. Its not your conventional French toast. The inside had a softer gooey texture that was contained in a soft bread that was evenly coated woth cinnamon. The light layer of syrup made it perfectly sweet and the fresh berries made the dish an absolute treat! The staff were very attentive and polite. I would definitely come back again soon! read more

I was very curious about this Vietnamese inspired brunch restaurant. I went to go try it out on a random weekday with some family and it totally did not disappoint. First when you walk in the decor is amazingly beautiful. I can see my girlfriends and I going here for a beautiful Sunday brunch with bottomless mimosas. It's so classy and so elegant. Just beautiful. The service was great. My brother-in-law ordered the bottomless mimosas and I kid you not every time he finished one a few seconds later someone would come up and ask him what would he want next. He totally got hammered during brunch. He recommends the guava flavored one. We ordered like five dishes and the ones that stood at the most was the pho Poutine, the RBF, and the souffle pancake. The poutine was probably one of the best I've ever had because it incorporated the cheese so well with the pho flavors. Like in regular poutine they usually just throw the cheese curds in there and you kind of have to eat the cheese and wait for them to melt but this one was already stirred into the pho meat and sauce and then gave it a creamy texture which was so nice and delicious. Not to mention that the fries were crispy and perfect and was a great compliment to the gravy and meat. This is the best routine I've tried and I went to Canada twice this year already. The star of the RBF was the cafe sua da syrup. By itself the pandan waffle needed a little bit pandan flavor, but the syrup was an unexpected delight. The flavor was not overpowering, it was very subtle, and it complemented the waffle so well. The chicken was also cooked nicely and not overly fried. The souffle pancake takes 25 minutes to come out but they're worth it. Not too sweet, very light and airy, and just delicious. The banh xeo tacos were good, it's just the taco was a little bit crispier than I usually expect from my banh xeo. All the food was good I don't have any major complaints at all. All in all the combination of the Vietnamese flavors and the western food was amazing. The flavors are so authentic and they blended it so well with these dishes. I want to come back soon with my girlfriends and just have a nice brunch. read more

Located in downtown Los Gatos. Went on a Sunday and due to the farmer's market the parking lots were full and had to search for parking for a while. Even though we had a reservation, had to wait for 30 min to get a table. The place setting is very cute. The utensils were golden in color. Even the glasses had golden bottom and drinking water felt luxurious. The menu is in printed like a newspaper. Our party ordered various drinks. Everyone liked their drinks. Got the coconut coffee which was Vietnamese coffee topped with coconut ice cream. Didn't really taste the coconut. But the coffee was very tasty. Ordered the chicken egg rolls and tofu egg rolls for the table. The shrimp spring roll was very fresh. The Banh Xeo Tacos had 3 tacos in 1 order. The taco shell was very oily but the filling was tasty with grilled pork and shrimp. The Noods please was very tasty Avocado toast was the sweeter side but very yummy The RBF was pandas waffle with fried chicken. It came with coffee syrup. Order takes a while to come. Food was really good of the 3 plates tried: Service was polite & prompt : Ambiance bustling with patrons & Melodies from the DJ Great variety of Tunes & Times. Large Group tables & few small parties tables..extremely intimate. 1. Pho Poutine (Pho Fries) i originally didn't think Pho' and French Fries would pair well. But I was happily & pleasantly surprised really tasty. 2. Pork Belly Fried Rice was also really Good Crispy & moist Pork belly pieces with an over easy Egg to top. 3. Garlic Noodles with Tofu was our Favorite The honorable mention: there is a Robot that makes their Burgers. I didn't try but next time I will. This restaurant is so rude. I talked to the owner, elizabeth Troun, on Feb 22 to make a reservation for my best friends bachelorette brunch for 12 people. These were her words, "oh I remember you from a reservation in October! I'm not in the restaurant right now but I will make the reservation when I get in". Fast forward to today. I called to confirm the reservation and was told I dont have one. Not over the phone because no one answers but through their Instagram chat. I explained the situation and was told "no, we are fully booked. Sorry. You can come as a walk in". I of course responded very upset. Next, Miss Troun, calls me to also let me know I was pretty much lying and she never talked to me. So I'm now making this up? She never offered a solution but kept telling me our conversation never happened. If it did, she would've sent me a contract. Apparently they are so busy that they require a signed contract and a $100 deposit for each person. She never mentioned that on the phone initially. But did admit this was a new policy. Since when? I'm sorry but do you think you are in Las Vegas? No restaurant near you would ever charge that! A $1200 deposit for brunch? I ended up hanging up on Miss Troun because she would in no way take accountability or help me in any way. This is not a way to treat a customer. I lived in Los Gatos for 20 years and the location of the restaurant has turned over at least 5 times. So best of luck when you state treating people like this. Fortunately, I called a very nice restaurant that was more than happy to accommodate my friends bachelorette party. Without a $1200 deposit! EDIT: Taylor, as I stated Miss Troun told me TODAY that was a NEW policy. I am not confused at all. Miss Troun did not follow up with me if that was necessary and as I stated that is your fault. Please take some accountability as this is ridiculous. Also, appears my other review stating I could not reach anyone at the restaurant still stands. EDIT #2: actually the initial reservation was for 10 I was going to increase to 12. Please see photo below from Instagram chat. So it still stands that Miss Troun never made the reservation. I had a catchup brunch date with my friend and finally got the chance to try this place. We went there early, like 9:30AM early on a Saturday so we didn't have a wait. After looking at the menu, my friend and I ordered the following to share. Pina Pandan: 2/5 I love pandan and I love pina colada but I was not a fan of these two together. Pho Poutin Fries: 5/5 YES! Get this dish. It was the highlight of our meal. A fusion appetizer done correctly! The braised tender beef was packed with intense pho flavor, on a bed of melty cheese and hot crispy fries. I wanted more after every bite. Fo Sizzle: 3/5 I am not sure if I like the seasoning of the beef. Also the beef wasn't as tender as I expected it to be. Pandan Waffles: 3/5 I loved the cafe su da syrup with the pandan waffles but the fried chicken was a no for me. Although I appreciated the use of dark meat, I tasted too much of the flour in the coating of chicken. I love the aesthetic of the restaurant. The use of gold furniture and cutlery gave this place a very classy look. The staff were friendly and efficient, our food came out fast.
