We recently moved to a Condominium that has a lot of deferred maintenance. Knowing the amount of debris that can get inside of dryer vents as well as forced air systems, I contacted Breathable for information about having a thorough cleaning. After contacting the company, I looked at the various options. I then spoke with Nir about wanting to have clean air, especially in light of the fires we have had the past several years. I wanted the Type-X Reset (Type B reset + Breathable Upgrade) which includes a thorough cleaning of the air ducks and furnace with an upgraded filtration system to accommodate a better filter. The team spent over four hours thoroughly cleaning all the air ducts and the furnace and installing the filtration to the furnace. We found that the vents were releasing heat into the walls because they were not properly insulated at the vents. The team took care of that as well and made sure that the air coming into our unit was only made up of the air from the clean furnace and air ducts and not from the old walls of the building. They upgraded the filtration system to accommodate air filters with near-HEPA performance. I feel good to know that not only are my air ducts clean now they won't get dirty nearly as fast as they did before because there's less opportunity for any dust or smoke from bad air quality to enter the system. I'm very pleased that this filtration system is incredibly easy to maintain (I only need to replace the filter once a year instead of every three months), and It out performs the super-popular 1" thick filtrete brand both when it comes to filtration efficiency and energy efficiency. I just had to have my dryer thermostat kit replaced, as my dryer stopped getting hot. The repairman noted that a clogged vent could have caused this. I hired Breathable to come and clean out the vent, as I am not equipped to handle this. They sent Noe, who showed up at exactly the appointed time. I contacted Clear Thumb, and got a response within minutes, once I filled out the form to request service, after providing my availability, it was confirmed immediately. Within 15 mins, I have the appointment setup. They provide a start time windows, mine was from 12-3. Diego and his crew showed up towards the end of the 3 o'clock, but he communicated with me during the window, which is very appreciative. It took the crew about 2 1/2 hours to complete everything. They are professional, covered up the floor and appliance in the area they are working on. At the end, they vacuumed the carpet as well. The house was cleaner after they left. Just few tips for future customers: 1) Plan to be home for half day, the process takes about 3 hours depends on your service, plus the time windows, it will take about a half day 2) They will be using machines to clean the duct, so there will be noise. Breathable is not just your average duct cleaning company. We called one company and they showed up with 1 guy. He couldn't do the work because one of the ducts was disconnected and he couldn't fix it. A second company came with 2 guys and they couldn't clean the ducts because the vent openings were too small for their equipment. Breathable saved us in a very short notice. We had a major home renovation project that started immediately after we had a completely new HVAC system and duct work installed.
