Super cute spot, very clean with a unique display for their pastries. Service is kind, quick, no complaints. You grab the pastries yourself with a tray and tongs, then go up front to pay and order drinks or some refrigerated options. Some things I've gotten: Matcha taro boba tea 3/5- taro was thick, matcha was sweet. A nice treat Scallion bread 4/5- super savory, better when warm and a little crispy Ube bun 3/5- tastes more like sweet potato inside than ube Sponge cake 4/5 - nice and light, could use some cream

Cute Asian bakery with a decent selection of breads, drinks, and classification pastries. I ordered a Castella sponge, and scallion bread with pork floss, in addition to an oolong milk tea Boba. Overall, I found pricing to be comparable to most Asian bakeries, though I do wish the selection of breads were a little bit larger. The tea for my drink was very yummy, though I found the boba were a bit too hard. This could've just been a bad batch, so I'm definitely willing to try again.

Stopped by here on a Monday afternoon while passing through Richmond for a roadtrip and it wasn't too busy. There are plenty of pastries and cakes to choose from. There is lots of seating and people studying/doing work on laptops. The staff were friendly and the place was clean. We got the pineapple bun, matcha milk paradise, and grapefruit sparkling tea. The drinks were refreshing and sweet. I liked that the matcha drink came with a macaron. The pineapple bun was alright but didn't taste like the typical pineapple bun I was expecting. Overall a nice place to get drinks and desserts.

This place is very pretty on the inside!!! The tables are adorable and you also have a showcase of different pastries that are grab and go. They're in separate cases and you grab a tray and take it to the front and they'll heat it up, and you pay attention the register. They have cakes, boba, smoothies, croissants, rolls, and much more. I got the pork roll and a strawberry cream pastry. My daughter got the cream cheese roll, and mixed berry cream croissant. The cheese roll had a sweet bread and was tasty. The pork roll was salty with bacon pieces and scallions and it was warmed up. My favorite was the mixed berry croissant and the strawberry cream pastry. I'd definitely get them again!! We also got a fruit tea and a brown sugar milk drink with cake foam. It was delicious. Next time I'll get it without boba though because it seemed like more boba than drink.. It feels like I was chewing forever. Lol. The customer service there was top notch also. The lady at the counter answered all of our questions and was very informative. The bathroom smelled good inside and it was clean. This is a place I recommend you try. We enjoyed everything about this place and will return next time we're in the area!! Check them out!!!

I got the boba taro matcha latte ($7). Drink was made in about 3 minutes. It had a good amount of sweetness, but not overly strong. There was plenty of boba, however they didn't really taste as fresh as some other places (still good). The taro was good, but didn't think it paired well with the matcha, I'm glad I could say I tried that combo, but will try a different flavor next time. First, the atmosphere of this place is awesome! Super spacious, clean aesthetic. I missed the pastry wall when I first came in! I got the creme brûlée milk tea. It was pretty good! Next time I'll mix it better because when I got to the bottom it was all foam & lots of flavor. I also got an ube bun & egg tart. Both were good, but tasted a bit undercooked. The tart was nice and buttery, but the dough was underdone on the bottom. Same with the ube bun, great flavor and crust in top but the bottom of the bun was a bit chewy & seemed undone -- not sure if it's a mochi flour though which would explain that but it was an interesting contrast. I'd come back and try some of the savory pastries too!

My experience at Breco Tea was great! The decoration and ambiance inside were so cute-- I can tell it would be a nice spot to grab a snack and get some work done. I tried the strawberry milk cap and the pineapple passion fruit tea (50% sweetness). Both were great and made relatively quick even though it was quite busy for a Sunday afternoon.

This location was disappointing. I was really looking forward to Brecotea but it wasn't good as the one at Midlothian. There were no tongs at the front and was waiting at the counter for a good 5 minutes just to get one, whoever was leaving that shift didn't bother asking if I needed help right before she left -- I wouldn't leave a customer hanging despite shift end. The drink was good. The pastries weren't as good, it was stale & dry. And the cake barely had any sponge into it, majority was cream/mousse. Lastly my cake had hair in it.

After having tried several boba places now, Brecotea's boba is my least favorite. It's pretty flavorless and just tastes like milk. But, the ambiance and pasties really make up for it.

Back again! The perfect spot when you are craving a sweet treat to hold you over until dinner. The afternoon crowd is very hit or miss. I got here around 3pm on a Sunday and there was one person in line and plenty of seats. 15 minutes later the place was packed and had about 10 people in line. I tried the Berries & Crème Croissant- rich, sweet crème with blackberries & blueberries and some blackberry drizzle. So good! I also tried a chocolate bun. The thick chocolate filling inside did not disappoint and was smooth and velvety when warmed. My only complaint was I just wanted a black tea and the large for that wasn't very big. The young lady put my tea in incorrectly (I think she truly thought she did it right) and the wrong tea came out. The other young lady making the drink suggested I get a refund since I paid too much and made sure I was taken care of. Overall a very pleasant place though it can get noisy when crowded. Comfortable seating and bright & clean inside.

I got the crab meat pastry and the chicken curry bun. The service here is amazing and Joy was able to help us out with our purchase! She is a very nice and considerate worker! I've had their boba before and felt as if there was a lack of flavour so I wouldn't recommend the milk tea or it was a fluke . This is a great place to come with your friends though and the decorations there are nice! It's not too loud at all and there were a good bit of pastries to choose from!

As someone who is very picky about their boba, I've tried my fair share of spots around town, but Brecotea has been the best so far! This place is hands down my favorite boba tea shop, and I can't recommend it enough. First off, the menu is packed with so much a variety. The toppings are so good especially their brown sugar boba that are the perfect amount of sweetness. The staff are super friendly, attentive, and always happy to recommend a new flavor or customize my order exactly the way I like it. The atmosphere is chill and inviting, making it the perfect place to hang out with friends or enjoy a quiet afternoon with your favorite drink. If you haven't been yet, do yourself a favor and give Brecotea a visit -- I guarantee it'll become your new favorite boba spot too!

I think I found a new, favorite bakery! My coworker brought us to Brecotea due to a conversation about Boba tea the day before. So we were all hankering for some good treats, and Brecotea did not disappoint! We grabbed the cute little trays right there at the front and started investigating all of the fun options of baked goods. It was a bit overwhelming to be honest with all of the choices that looked so good. I ended up with a bacon stick, and some delicious coconut brioche bread. My friends Opted for items like the chocolate filled croissant, chicken curry, stuffed pastry, cheese toast, and a strawberry and cream bread. Nothing we had was bad, we all did little tastings of each item. I also ended up getting a Strawberry Milk Tea and was so happy to learn I could get it with 50% sweetness! It was tasty! My only complaint was that you get it in a coffee style cup, with a small hole for drinking. There was another hole for a regular straw, but with the milk jelly at the bottom, there was no real easy way to get to it through the hole nor straw, but maybe I wasn't trying hard enough. So I ended up, not really eating it. I grabbed a few with a fork, but I think they'd be better with the tea. Still, I'm definitely coming back and bringing friends. I had my eye on a few pastries that had "pork floss" and I'm very curious as to what that would be like. I'm also interested in trying one of the other types of teas they have! Great assortment of breads and desserts at this new Brecotea location. So happy to see that Richmond now has an Asian bakery in the area that reminds me of the ones in NOVA. The interior is bright and spacious, I could see myself getting work done here. It seems like they bake new bread periodically throughout the day too to keep it fresh! I was so excited to see that they have pineapple buns, a first for Richmond! The employees were helpful in providing recommendations because there were so many to choose from. I would recommend coming earlier in the day to get the best experience of choosing from more breads. read more

I can always find the perfect snack! Have had almost all of their cakes- super good, hard to decide which is my favorite. Though the Potted Plant dessert is always fun to eat. The drinks are equally as good. All their items are not too overly sweet so you can appreciate the flavors read more

The bakery section is amazing; from sweet treats to savory flavors, this place offers everything you could ask for! The ambiance is very chill and provides an amazing study spot for students. So happy to see this place! Being from Taiwan I miss the beautiful yeasty pastries and fruit cakes. Thank goodness for this place! They have cool ingredients like taro and pork floss (just trust me, it's delicious!), fruit flavors (gonna have to try the durian at some point...) and love how not overly sweet things are! I was worried about the bubble teas but those are tasty and not like drinking syrup as with some other places. I do wish they had more non-caffeinated drinks. Do they not understand that we don't want the kids on stimulants?? Thank goodness it isn't closer to my house tho or we would be there every day! read more

Love this place for its clean, simplistic look. The food items are not over the top sweet, however, the service is a bit on and off. Ordered a cake in advance and when I arrived to pick up my order I was told the order was not made. I didn't really have a choice but to choose one of the cakes that were already premade. It sucks when you take the time to pre-order a cake that cost $45 only to be told that they are sorry and that no one else was there that knew how to personalize the cake. Why have pre-order as an option? read more

The Pastries were such a beautiful addition to our drink. So refreshing! The boba is on point, the texture of softness to the warmth of the boba so delightful! We've had boba from the West Coast and now parts of the east coast. If you want to try one of the best/better bobas in Richmond, VA come here! It does not disappoint! Location is in a prime spot and the inside so clean, modern and cute! Very insta friendly! The service was great, the were clean and organized, everything labeled and for it being busy the wait time was almost none existent the ladies are very efficient and know their beverages! Wow! The pastries here are so fresh and delicious. They're less sweet than Paris Baguette, which I appreciate. The variety is fantastic. They also serve boba and teas/coffee, and the space is so pretty! A great place to pick up yummy treats or chill for a long time. Highly recommend! read more

Although my birthday dessert that my boyfriend got me was tasty, the service was awful. At the checkout I ordered the dessert item I wanted then while deciding on what drink I wanted asked him what he wanted to which he replied a double espresso . I then gave my drink order of a hot house latte with hazelnut flavor. I saw on the screen that Britney our cashier had not included his drink so I said and a double expresso for him. She seemed very anxious to get back to whatever she was doing on her phone. Only one drink came out even though there were two of us and clearly two different drink orders. They added double espresso to mine and then wanted to charge me more to remake the two drinks even though it was the cashiers mistake. Very poor customer service. Will not go back. read more

Great boba selection. The Boba were cooked well with great texture and generous quantity! Asian Pastries were beautifully presented and freshly prepared. Great mixture of savory and sweet plus large selection of cakes and other types of desserts. They heat up the pastries so you can enjoy them there or box them up to go. The place is really good. One of the best boba tea I've ever had. The bakery is delicious they have this one bacon sandwich that is amazing, it's always my favorite. The service is super good they are super nice and friendly. The place has really good vibe. They make a brown sugar boba with cake batter that's AMAZING!! Never had anything like it ! Over all I love the place and I will continue to take my girlfriend there in dates I recommend it !! read more

This is my FAVORITE boba to get. I normally am not a person to go out and get coffee every week but this is my "little treat" I get almost once a week. My boyfriend and I get the same thing every time: the brown sugar boba matcha iced. It has the perfect ratio of matcha to cream, you get the matcha flavor and a nice caramelized brown sugar boba in your mouth every time. Their large sizes are an amazing deal, great packaging, and awesome service every time. I love this place! I know some people dont like the creaminess of some of their drinks but I guess thats a preference thing and which one you get. I personally dont love super creamy and this drink I get is just right. read more

As I gently asked , which appeared to be the owner was annoyed. She said it's a smoothie, dairy is it. And I said I realize most do but was wondering if it could be replaced with nondairy as there are people with allergies. She said wished you had come up sooner and I said that why I'm up here. There was only another order ahead of me. She said well your order is already up. I said nothing because I can't have it. And finally asked what I'd wanted to replace it with. She was mad at me, and made sure I knew by throwing the drink loudly in the trash can. I get it everyone has a bad day. My order shouldn't have warrant for that behavior. It was an honest mistake on my part as I should have asked from the beginning but the kiosk didn't inform me properly. I hope this is a good reminder for the business that people/customers could have been having a bad day, sick, have cancer, someone that knew just passed away and they came to your place looking for a little treat. At least as I was waiting for my new drink was that she was much nicer to other customers. But here's a tip if you want to keep your business running. But kind. It's clear that the other reviews also share the same experience of rudeness. Because it was my first time. It will also be my last. There are so many other boba teas out there.

They have bottled drinks and cakes as well, but I didn't get to try them! They have a handful of tables and chairs inside, and they had quite a bit of people in there. It seems like they are a fave spot for locals. Some customers were just hanging out and some had laptops out, so they might be a good spot to do some work, too.
