I stopped in (for the first time) to Brenz for a simple personal cheese pizza to go. Yes, you can call me basic or plain, but that was what I wanted that day. I did not have to wait long for my pizza to cook. When I got home, I was pleasantly surprised to take a bite and enjoy the flavor and consistency of the crust. It isn't a thin crust pizza, and maybe it is buttered or seasoned with something delicious. I enjoyed the pizza overall and I would order from Brenz again. Food was excellent! We ordered a Greek salad and they did not skimp out in the feta cheese! It was very good! If you like croutons, they were fresh! We here at the OSU hospital give the restaurants in this area every opportunity to become a thriving business, however this place DOES NOT care about the thousands of dollars that can be acquired by making a couple of nurses happy. The pizza made out of cardboard and wings I'm thinking were made a couple of days ago. Entire order inedible. Brenz is great! I order pepperoni pizza. I love the the type of pepperoni that Brenz uses. This type curls up into cups when it is cooked. The pizza crust was also cooked well and had flavor to it. When I bit into a cut of pizza, the toppings held up well and did not slide off the pizza. I was overall very pleased with my choice and will be coming back. read more

I ordered Brenz last weekend and really enjoyed my pizza and sandwich. This place opened up a couple weeks ago next to the Zoup in Lennox Town Center. I went inside to check it out, and it looks like you order up at the counter, and they'll bring it out to you. I didn't get any good that day, but I did end up ordering delivery a week later. I went with the personal sized Heater which is supposed to be a step up in heat from the Buffalo Chicken Pizza. My girlfriend had the personal Bruschetta, and we both ended up splitting the Italian sub. You can order online, and they were out in about 20-30 minutes which was pretty awesome. I really loved the pizza that I had, and my girlfriend loved hers as well. I think mine could have been a bit spicier, but I thought the crust was fantastic. It had just enough crispiness, chewiness, and flavor to be one of my favorite crusts I've tried around here. The Italian sub was awesome too. I had my buddy try it, and he really enjoyed it as well. The bread was once again my favorite part, but they really packed in the meat. A lot of pizza places tend to skimp out on the ingredients in their sandwiches but not here. This is now officially the closest pizza place to my house, and I just so happened to luck out in it being a great shop. I'm just sad it came just before we move out, but I'm crossing my fingers that they'll deliver to our new place! read more

This was one of my favorite pizza places in Columbus. They offer fresh quality ingredients. I never thought I'd write this review. However, they are having trouble. Three of the last four orders have been wrong. Two of those orders were later than committed. When I called in to inform them the last order was wrong, the man who took the call sounded like it was an imposition for me to call and offered to "put a note on my account" for a discount or a desert with my next order. This was a total miss and terrible customer service. Maybe if they hire some help they can salvage it, but for now, I might be done with them. There are other pizza places that are close, decent, and have a much better track record in my experience. read more

If you were drunk, slurring your words and telling people you were coming to my house, it might sound like you were going to Brenz. That's what I did last night (went to Brenz, not the other stuff). From the website, Brenz appears to be a small chain with a few locations near large campuses. Pizza and college students sounds like a recipe for failure, but what do I know - I spend most of my time looking for a good Betamax repair shop. Anyhow, Brenz serves a bastard pie - Ohio and square cut in the middle, with toppings that don't go edge to edge, leaving some doughy poof around the edges. While the medium-thick crust has some good air pockets, it's not real chewy like your typical NY style crust. The sauce seemed great, but my pizzas didn't have enough of it. Oddly, while the pep and shroom side of my dinner had ample toppings, the sausage and onion side was sparse on the pork. All in all, Brenz is A-OK and worth a try, but just not top rung on the Columbus pizza ladder. read more

Exceptional slices I saw that Brenz had a high rating so decided to try it myself. I went with the all meat pizza, the personal size in case I didn't like it. It was a well constructed pizza. One of the meats had some spice to it, but it was not overly spicy (I'm a spice whimp and it didn't bother me at all). Brenz is delicious on all levels. My wife works at OSU and they order Brenz from time to time so I tried it cold when I finished her lunch one evening. The BBQ chicken pizza is amazing and the loaded pepperoni is very solid as well. I've yet to try their subs or salad, but I'm looking forward to the chance to sample their entire menu. Good pizza overall. I get the portions are a bit smaller than a blaze or MOD pizza. I had the chicken bbq pizza. It wasn't decent, but had a little too much sauce proportion to the rest of the pizza ingredients. Next time I visit I will test a more traditional pizza option. read more

Oh-em-geeeee, Brenz pizza is probably my favorite I've tried in Columbus thus far! My downtown office decided to grab Brenz carry out for one of our monthly lunch socials, so we were able to try a number of the specialty pizzas. Ordering online and picking up in store was easy and convenient, and the order was ready when we went to pick it up, right when we expected it to be. Pizzas are well-priced for the number of toppings and how filling the pizzas are. We tried the following pizzas from the specialty pizzas menu: the Loaded Pep & Cheese - super cheesey with a generous amount of ultra crisp pepperoni; the Rustic - loved the combination of caramelized onions and roasted peppers with the classic trio of red sauce, pepperoni, and sausage and thought this was a solid everything-style pizza; the Tres Amigos - this one was calling my name with its Mexican flare, but the steak on the pizza was overdone and tough/chewy for my liking (overall flavor with the pico de gallo, avocado, and cilantro was delicious and interesting on a pizza); and the Bianca Rossa - my personal fav of the varieties we tried, I loved how every bite was a different with dollops of red sauce, olive oil, fresh mozzarella, shaved parm, and a cold tomato salad and basil topper. The thicker crust on all the pizzas was well-cooked and flavorful and quite filling, and each had a large amount of the various toppings. I love the various more unique pizzas you can get- such as the Tres Amigos, which basically has everything I love about Mexican food on a pizza and actually WORKS. I also like how easy it is to customize your pizza or build your own. And yes, I am a fan of the square-cut slices; it's so much easier to eat and/or share than the classic triangle slice. Currently my top choice for pizza in Columbus. Great crust, soft but crispy on the bottom, with no sogginess. Sauce is on point, good flavor, not too overdone with herbs spices. Plenty of topping choices, me, I just get cheese so you can get that nice caramelization from the super hot oven. The subs are on bread that you can just TASTE is freshly baked. Reasonably priced and friendly staff. Sorry to the staff member that had to clean up the full soda my 3 year old spilled on the floor. I had heard about Brenz, so suggested we order from here. The pizza was solid - very good, yummy pepperoni and chunks of sausage. The mushrooms are fresh, not canned. (A pet peeve of mine.) But I tacked on an order of their cinnamon bites. It was an afterthought, really. My husband wants to know if we can just get those delivered to our house. We were a Tommy's in UA family for 20 years, but we got so sick of messed-up orders and waiting in their crappy coat room waiting area like hungry prisoners for interminable times followed by zero apologies. very unfortunate that brenz has HORRIBLE customer service and is RUDE to their loyal customers. our unit at OSU Wexner orders from brenz about 1-2x a week religiously, and their food is always high quality, hot, and is always delivered when promised. today (12/20), we ordered about $130 worth of food and our $8 cheesy breadsticks had a long dark hair cooked into the cheese and was stringing out of the pizza. DISGUSTING. we called and tried to make it right. first of all, the employee who answered the phone (approx 1:10pm) was rude to us saying that no one there had long hair. they left us on hold for over 10 minutes and the manager was arguing with us and said no way that could have happened. all we asked for another reorder and they couldn't even do that. would have cost 50cents to remake it. trust me, if we wanted to plant a hair that was COOKED into the cheese, we would've picked the $25 pizza, not the breadsticks. overall, horrible experience and terrible customer service. we are tired healthcare workers and just wanted some good food. the least they could've done was remake it. you just lost our business. read more

Walking to Brenz pizza and showing my hooked coupon was a very unpleasant experience starting with: 1-the cashier who didn't know what the app was. 2-the fact that they don't have a 10" pizza (only 8 and 12). 3-got the 8" for $5.99. 4-the manager who came to help made it worse by saying its a mistake in the app and we are not giving u an extra discount!! 5- showing every single person the app that it says $5 for a 10" and that I am not lying to get the offer! 6- tres amigos pizza meat was over cooked..
