Made me sick.. as I said I am Sicilian and have been making pizza for over 65 years. Pizza was Meh.... I would never eat there again. Food inside the deli was fine and they were friendly and helpful. Food in the pizzeria was terrible and they weren't terribly helpful. I had also taken to Arancini. Also pretty bland. Not all food needs to be interesting but when you're paying good money in a lousy economy, it should be better.

They were kind enough to replace the dish, but unfortunately, the fresh replacement also had hair in it. At that point, we just couldn't understand how it happened twice with the same order. I don't know what was going on in the kitchen today, and hopefully this was just an isolated incident. We've had so many good experiences here in the past, which is why today was especially disappointing. Hopefully they can address the food-handling and kitchen hygiene issue, because we'd really like to continue coming back after our hikes.

Who doesn't love a "mom and pop" coffee shop? They just opened so go easy on them :) But don't confuse them with a fly by night coffee house... oh no... These people take their coffee VERY seriously and how seriously? Let's just say they even are passionate about how well they filtered their water to ensure that EVERY cup of coffee, tea and well... water; is perfection in a cup. I went there with Shelby thinking I'd pop into this new place for bite after seeing our cousin in a nearby rehabilitation nursing home for her broken leg, but I discovered a LEGIT coffee spot. LEGIT! Got Shelby a panini and drink but she had to run so I didn't get taste but I'm sure it was great as she is a regular there. I had the brie and butter *"Heaven on a 10" baguette" and was silly to ask for them to heat it. SILLY ME! You don't heat that stuff, you just eat that stuff. Lesson learned, but it was still good, but not as it should have been. I should have drank half of my rose tea latte and let it get to room temperature THEN chowed down. I'll do that next time. I was about to leave and then remembered that I had to see the bathrooms. Fun faces of familiar folks like the great JFK, Audrey Hepburn, Marlon Brando and I think I might have even seen a few Beatles and Danny Kaye! Thought I was going to leave and then the owner said I HAD to try their nitro coffee and a variety of baklava. mmm! If ANY major tip comes from this review at all, GO THERE and get the ***NITRO COFFEE***! It was worth staying up still 4am due to the caffeine ;) This cold coffee was perfection and I mean when you can drink it and enjoy it A LOT without sugar or cream it's good stuff #cafevirtuosobrewedright The 3 types of *baklava were great... I shared one with Gage because I'm supposed to be eating clean right now and totally cheat mealed the whole time I as there. haha But baby, it was worth it! This morning, I visited Brew Coffee Spot for the first time and received a warm welcome. As I approached the counter to place my order, the barista greeted me with a smile and suggested that I could put $2 in the nearby box and "help yourself to a cup from the push pots." I was amazed at the low price and impressed by the freshness and temperature of the coffee, which was some of their best brew. There was a full set of condiments available nearby, and the menu board offered a wide variety of combinations at reasonable prices. They even had hot snacks in addition to their usual offerings. Brew Coffee Spot has a cozy and inviting ambiance, with clean and comfortable seating and a relaxed atmosphere. They offer free Wi-Fi for customers, making it a great spot to work remotely or browse the internet while enjoying hot or iced coffee, seasonal lattes, tea, and snacks. The décor has a charming rustic feel with a modern stylish touch. Comfortable seating, both inside and outside, provides space to read a book or connect to the internet. The friendly and knowledgeable staff is always happy to answer your questions about the coffee and provide recommendations. However, Brew Coffee Spot is much more than just a coffee shop. Even when I think I've found every spot that serves cold brew, I'll discover one that flew under my radar. @brewcoffeespot in La Mesa is one of those I discovered through my daily (or hourly if I'm procrastinating) Instagram scroll, and I'm so glad I didn't miss them. ** Their cold brew is made with a secret South American blend that comes from @cafevirtuoso - it's so unique, it's not even available for sell to the public. Using the Toddy method, it's steeped for 20+ hours using ultra filtered water, then served on ice or nitro. ** I like my chocolate how I like my men - smooth and rich, and I like my cold brew to taste like chocolate. This hit the spot. When I first sipped it, I got a mild butterscotch after taste but as it diluted the richness of the coco really came through. Having it on nitro muted the flavors for me, but the creamy foam made up for it. 4/5 for both. ** If you are lucky and don't have acid reflux issues with hot coffee, @brewcoffeestop has another option called a "flash brew"; picture a pour over on top of ice. Outstanding from the time you walk into this very large, open, spacious spot. Next.. the service... immediately you're greeted with a smile and ready to be serviced by employees that are coffee enthusiasts and are well educated on the items on the menu board that can nicely compliment your brew. I ordered it with nonfat milk I waited for only a couple of minutes for my drink to be made. During that time I saw that they were playing records and had several records for sale. That was really cool. If I lived in the area I would definitely hang out and listen to records while sipping on coffee. The reason for only 4 stars.... my charge was abut $8 which felt a bit stiff for only the 16 oz drink. It made me wary of what a 20 oz would cost. All in all, I had a good experience at The Simple Coffee House. My drink had good flavor without being overly sweet. I liked the records and the vibe at the coffeehouse.

The iced matcha with strawberry cold foam has been a go to on these hot days. I have also have been getting a breakfast sandwich on gluten free bread and it is delicious. We also like to order their cold brew for special events and everyone keeps coming back for more and asking where we got it from. Thanks to the owner Josh for helping us out with this! Just be sure to order it a few days in advance to give them time to make it, the process is a glass three-tier slow drip system. Best tasting cold brew! Add a little vanilla cold foam to the top to give it a a dash of sweetness.

It's a cute colorful little shop. The girl working was very friendly. I saw the board outside after she reminded me of the specials and decided to try the iced chocolate banana latte. This is not something I would normally try but it sounded good. I'm more of a coffee purist generally. The girl told me all about it and talked it up so I was looking forward to trying it. She said the banana was a strong flavor, which is OK cause I like banana. She made my drink and I paid and was on my way. As I was walking back to my car, I took a sip. I'm not sure what happened, but there was zero banana flavor. It was just chocolate. I don't know if she ran out of banana or what happened but had I known I would've ordered something different. Quite disappointing actually. Since I'm in the area every few months and it has a five star reputation I will come back and try something else on a different day but today was not my day for getting a good drink.

Inside the shop they allowed people to bring their own trading card collection to trade with each other. They had specialty drinks made specifically for the show, Pokemon themed. There's a good amount of seating inside and seems like a good place to hang out or study. They have different books and board games around the shop too. I tried two drinks when I came. I got the coconut matcha because it was one of the themed drinks but wasn't impressed with it. I probably should've known better than to order matcha at a coffee shop but I'm a sucker for coconut. For my second (redemption) drink I got the Samoa which was a mocha, coconut, and caramel latte. This one was delicious. It had a great coffee flavor with a nice smooth caramel companion. It wasn't overly sweet and not bitter at all. The baristas were all great too. My drinks came out quickly despite it being busy with the show. Definitely a great coffee shop to check out!

Becky and I are not well versed in the world of fancy coffee, so we typically rely on those we are with to provide recommendations. Saturday we were on our own. We wanted a late afternoon pick-me-up and Kaffee Meister is a very short distance from our house. I walked in and was warmly greeted by the pleasant young woman behind the counter (I did not catch her name). I asked for two caramel iced coffees. She very nicely and patiently explained to me the different options of my generic "iced coffees" term. Lattes, cold brews, espressos, etc. Her recommendation was Caramel Frappes, so that is what I ordered. One with whipped cream (for Becky) and mine without. As I waited, I looked around the room. It was really cool. Very homey, neighborhood cafe vibe. A few tables and a couch and comfy chairs along with some tables and chairs dotted the room. The room was really nicely decorated. I liked the spiral staircase shelving. They have some outdoor seating as well. In addition to coffees, they offer a food menu. Pastries, bagels, açaí bowls, sandwiches and the like. I drive by Kaffee Meister almost daily and often I will see that they have live music which is cool. I waited maybe three or four minutes for my name to be called, and I was handed my two frappes. I like a simple cup o' Joe. Black, no sugar, no sweeteners. At home I drink Kirkland brand ground coffee from a drip coffee maker. That said, I really enjoyed the Caramel Frappe. It was not too sweet and retained subtle coffee flavor. Becky very much enjoyed hers too. Neither of us had ever had a frappe before. We were surprised by the milkshake-like creamy texture. They provided the perfect pick-me up we were looking for. About 17 bucks after tip. We'd return for sure.

I honestly don't think I've had a cold brew this smooth that tasted this good in a while. The balance between the flavor and cold brew was just right ! He made a vanilla cold brew w/ milk and it was great! Service was extremely nice and I love the little set up they got going on here! All the hockey parents enjoyed their coffees, I had a mango smoothie instead which was delicious and refreshing. The spicy bacon grilled cheese is made on a panini press and the bacon is crumbled, not in strips with pepper jack cheese. Beautifully crispy and hot, it made for a delightful drive home. Well...the first couple minutes. Highly recommend if you're already enjoying your day there. I wouldn't go out of my way IMO.
