This place is fantastic! We came in after a day at the zoo with my wife and kids on the recommendation of friends. The carne asada burrito and house chips and guacamole were both great. If you go for the large order of chip/guac, make sure you have a full table to share with because it is definitely large. The draft and canned beer list is top notch. By far the best I've ever see with Mexican food. Service was excellent as well. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. They even had high chairs for my little ones. COVID precautions were all in place- masks 100% required when not at table, well distanced tables, lots of sanitizing going on and available for use. Boy, do I feel like a dumb-dumb for only now discovering Brewers Row! Just perusing their menu, I was impressed with the level of variety. The usual fare: tacos, burritos, nachos, as well as entrees, tortas, and lots more. We ordered the chicken taco platter, a carne asada burrito, and 6 churros (buy 5 and the 6th one is free). The chicken tacos were really tasty, but could've used some salsa or sauce. They were a tad dry. My husband loved the burrito, and the churros were a delicious treat. They somehow misheard my husband when he ordered the taco platter and gave us THREE taco platters, so we went home with 9 tacos, and three sides of rice and beans. Oops. Make sure you're clear when you order! I was impressed that they had our food packaged and ready when we got there. It was the fastest takeout experience yet. read more

This is probably my favorite spot for Mexican food in Pierce County & Kitsap County. We moved to WA from CA 4 years ago and have been challenged to find great salsa, carnitas and tasty Mexican food. This place meets all the marks for me and all but the salsa for my hubby. Tonight I tried the White Wine Margarita and it was pretty pretty good! We wanted to try the nachos and asked if they could do a half order. The answer was NO! Too bad, cuz we would have added more to our bill & their profit, We then order chips and salsa. My hubby & I prefer different salsa. We attempted to order 2 kinds with our chips (happily willing to pay for the add on) and were told, "we cannot blah blah blah" and that "cannot" really burned us up. There has to be a way, trult. If not, how about different delivery than cannot? I will not let the poor customer experience delivered by a front line employee ruin my love of this spot. SOLID breakfast option in Tacoma! My coworkers and I stopped by for breakfast after a night of work. Luckily, this place opens at 7am, so it was perfect. I ordered the chorizo burrito with the Strawberry Crush cider to drink. First and foremost, I have to say that I appreciate the fact that Brewers Row includes potato in the breakfast burrito! Most places don't offer potato, hashbrowns, etc. in their burritos and I feel like something is always missing. The burrito was large, filling, and savory and the Habanero salsa was spicy and flavorful. The Strawberry was slightly tart, sweet, and refreshing and it was a great meal to end a long night at work. They had a good selection of beers (the morning mocha chocolate stout was also delicious!) and the service was really friendly. Definitely a great stop if you're in the area. read more

On a recent visit to Tacoma, a friend took me to this new-ish spot near his home. It wasn't that busy on a Monday afternoon so we had plenty of room and could enjoy each other's company. While we were waiting to order, we sampled some orange almond coffee cake. It was crunchy and soft in all the right places! The citrus with the almond was a great pairing. I ordered the braised beef tostada for lunch. I have to say that I wasn't expecting the flavor of the meat to "pop" as much as it did. The meat was seasoned with chipotle and beer. It was tender and full of complex flavors balanced with the lettuce and pico de gallo. The crunchy tortilla was the perfect base for this reasonably priced $8.75 lunch. The food was good and I'd definitely go back to try more of the menu and likely some tasty baked goods as well! read more

I finally made it to Brewer's Row after driving by so many times I can't count. I wasn't sure if it was kid friendly, so I was waiting for a time to pop in there by myself or with a friend. The time came and it was absolutely kid friendly! Now I know. I stopped in around 4:30 and was super happy to see that it was happy hour. Their happy hour is Monday through Friday, 2 to 5. They have $2 tacos and you can take them to go. What a steal! I had the jackfruit tacos and my significant other had chicken and steak. Mine were delicious and he agreed that his were, as well. We got sides of avocado crema, pico, salsa verde, and roasted carrot habanero. Soooo good! Especially the salsa verde and habanero. It does get quite busy in there and it is small, so there wasn't much seating available when we arrived. That would be the only downfall. While I was waiting, I tried a gingerbread cider. Yum! All in all, a really good experience and I can't wait to go back and try a couple other veggie dishes. read more

I'm so sad that this place, which has been a favorite of mine for several years, seems to be going downhill. Was never too impressed with most of their other dishes, but the nachos kept me coming back. Over the last year however, pretty much every time I have come in and ordered them, they have been very subpar. Hardly any toppings, cheese not all the way melted. I thought it was due to whoever was working in the kitchen, so I tried different days, different times, but it didn't matter. Most recently I went with a group, we all got nachos, and I had to request extra cheese, and that it be melted and I had to order extra sauce just so that they would be like they used to. I love the space and the idea of having a place to order ethical hormone free meat. The menu is great and well thought out. The food was just not that good. I really wanted to love it. The creama sauce was to die for. Everything else was under seasoned. Really just not a lot of wow in the flavor. The meat was dry. They definitely could do better. My goodness! How awesome that North Tacoma is just adding cool restaurant after cool restaurant! It's really amazing to me. I've lived in the area my whole life, and in just the last couple years, we've had an explosion of fantastic new places to eat and drink, especially in the Proctor District. The latest to open is Brewers Row at 26th and Alder, in a little row of old brick spaces that for a very long time were just boring old nothing spaces, but all of which are now vibrant places to dine. I would describe Brewers Row as "New Mexican Cuisine" - hip place, vibrant, cozy, great social vibe - perfect for this neighborhood. The menu covers breakfast, lunch and dinner, but all with a Mexican slant. But not so much the "Tex-Mex Glop" of most old-school American Mexican places - more of an eclectic vibe than that. We ordered and shared the Tacos Platter ($10.50) with a mix of chicken and beef. There were three nice "street tacos" (4" tortillas) with cotija radish, diced onion, cilantro and a couple of choices of salsa, served with "arroz roja & frijoles pintos" (delicate authentic Mexican red rice, with pinto beans). We also each had a cup of the Chicken Tortilla Soup ($3.50) The flavors were excellent on everything! Really well done - the seasonings on the chicken and beef in the tacos were spot on - not too spicy and also not at all bland but just right. The soup was the same thing.... TONS of well-seasoned shredded chicken in a fairly light but well-seasoned soup base. Nice! Atmosphere is very hipster - kinda loud, "long-table" seating for the most part as is quite trendy today, with fairly sparse single tables. It's cozy and warm - but just not so much a "quiet evening out" sort of place. You order at the counter, with the main menu about 10 feet up in the air on a chalk board - need to crane your neck a bit! (Or just cheat, as we did, and ask for the "to-go" menu!) 24 beers on tap, with a bunch of coffee. latte, espresso choices as well. The $5 wine pour is a tad stingy, and not really any "light beers" on tap or bottle but all in all the beverage choices are pretty amazing. Awesome tap list and solid menu! We enjoyed a Razzleberry IPA and an Incline Lemongrass Cider. That cider! It reminded me of a beer! A beer! For someone who loves beer, but is gluten free, that really made my day. The food! I might put myself out there and say the nachos we had are the best I've ever had. They are ooey-gooey, meaty crunchy goodness. I'm not sure what they season the chips with... but that's the winner right there. Every single chip is bursting with flavor, with or without anything more than that spice blend. And the order is HUGE. Share it... with two or three people. The tacos. We chose the pollo, carnitas, and carne asada. We also got the chipotle salsa and a side of guacamole. Excellent and super fresh! I think, maybe, it's a bit pricey... but you get what you pay for. This place was a great way to spend a Friday afternoon for happy hour! Started off with a great beer menu with many different beer options to choose from. The person at the register also did a phenomenal job with beer recommendations, recommending two great beers for both me and my girlfriend. Furthermore, when we saw the happy hour prices, we were STOKED! A huge bowl of fresh tortilla chips, and our choice of some great salsas, for only $2!? Count me in!!! Lastly, the atmosphere was really cool! Definitely a place that we will go back to over and over again to try another beer on their rotating tap selection. Next time we will definitely try their taco salad. We saw two of those heading to another table and were amazed at how tasty they looked. When this first opened, it has far from the top of my list. However, I have changed my mind. We had breakfast burritos with crispy baco there this morning. It was delicious! We always prefer crispy bacon. The burrito also had eggs and potatoes that were perfectly seasoned. We tried both the salsa verde and chipotle tomato salsas. Both were really good. Very filling. I had coffee with cream. It was nothing to write home about. Coffee was not very strong. My husband had a breakfast beer. LOL. Brewers Row always have a great selection of craft beer. We recently had dinner there, and it was excellent as well. The best part of Brewers Row... we can walk there. It is a great option for the Proctor area. read more

Yet another good addition to a rapidly changing Tacoma food scene. We quickly stopped in for a beer and a taco because we heard it just opened and wanted to check it out. The place seemed pretty nice, not a huge place by any means, but well planned out. It appears they also have windows that open completely up much like Cooks next door for those limited summer days in the NW; I love that open-air feel. They have a nice selection of beers and wine for those non-beer drinkers like the wife. They also sell wine by the bottle and they have a cooler for beers that are not on tap. I had their pulled pork taco, which came out like a street taco on a 4 inch shell, flavor was great and I could easily put a few more away even though I was stuffed from dinner. A lovely and lazy Saturday brought us into Brewers Row for the first time today. It was very lively and buzzing with people! Mexican themed food mixed with modern touches as well as a huge craft beer selection and espresso bar. Lots of veggie options with meat selections also. Came in for the veggie tacos (got potato as well as jackfruit). Being our first experience with jackfruit we felt a little awkward as it looks so similar to meat...we had to double check that it wasn't. The tacos were good but light on the fillings. No guac, no avocado just small amounts of filling with onion and lime wedges. You can pay an extra $2 for rice and beans. The burritos (which we didn't order) seemed much more filling. Next time we go we'll get breakfast burritos or the varied quesadillas. The place was crowded on a Saturday, around lunch, and parking is typical proctor "circle the block a few times". Overall we enjoyed it but will change up what we get next time. Great neighborhood place! read more

I like this place for its nice selection of brews and their reasonably priced happy hour selections. However, I find their tap offerings priced about 15% higher than their nearby competitors and their service to be extremely variable; one day they're friendly and helpful and glad to see you, the next, its all business, what do you want, and no more personality displayed than absolutely necessary. This is a shame, as Brewers Row is in a good location and, though the decor is nothing fancy or particularly outstanding, it certainly had potential to become my local. Based on recent experiences, though, in which my presence was barely acknowledged and my order taken and delivered without comment or appreciation, I think I'll continue shipping around. There are a few thing that stand out to me when I eat at a restaurant for the first time - the size of the menu and whether they offer seasonal items. Why? Because this usually means fresher ingredients and options. Brewer's Row offer both of those things. I love that their menu isn't huge and that they stick to what works for them. Also, they change up their platter options based on what is in season. To me that means, less things sitting frozen somewhere and also something new to try. Dear, churros and two lattes It was a Drizzly Tuesday in Tacoma and all I wanted was for you to give my gut a warm hug from the inside but you were hard and bitter, like this review. Server brought it he said "let me know if it's not up to par" How did he guess? No I don't wanna ask for a new one. I want my food I can't afford to be right the first time! (Yes the churros was only a dollar) My latte was half foam, both coffees taste bitter. We are so happy that we found this spot via Yelp. By the name, we would have never found out that they serve some of the best Mexican food in the city. The huevos is on point and affordable. The breakfast taquitos were very tasty(a tad damp), and they have a very great beer selection, which would be expected(see name). The only reason this place did not get to 5 stars is because of their burritos. They seemed to contain about 90% rice and were very dry. I feel like this was a fluke and will try them again soon and update this review. We were just so excited after our great huevos and breakfast taquitos, we ran back within the same week to get the burritos only to be disappointed. The atmosphere of the place is a nice, smaller casual dining spot (not for large groups) this is a good place to eat for lunch or HH and head out somewhere else for dessert (I always feel snug). This place is definitely overhyped, I don't see why there are so many 5 star reviews. The food is incredibly inconsistent, while being overpriced for the quality of food provided. I want to love this place because it's convenient for me but I have been here many times now and the hit-and-miss food and the unwelcoming service have forced me to make the decision to NEVER return. One thing they have going for them is their carrot habanero salsa (which I will miss dearly...) but it's not worth the challenge of attempting to call in my order and having to repeat myself several times so they can hear over their loud goth boy music (S/O Lil Peep - RIP). I have been going to this restaurant for a year and I just left from having lunch there today. I tell them every time I'm severely allergic to dairy and to avoid cross contamination. This time there was cheese in my salad right on top. So I asked them if they could make another, they said "no problem" and when I got the salad back, it was the same salad, they picked out the cheese leaving a crater in the middle and I found more cheese scattered throughout. I should have asked for my money back. Either these employees are new or just careless because now I'm scared to ever try this place again and it sucks because I've always enjoyed their kale/sweet potato salad. read more

Hell Yes! We moved to the area several months ago and are sad that we just got around to trying this place. So many things to talk about: 1. They use natural and local meat and eggs. 2. The food is DAMN delicious! We ordered a taco plate with chicken, carnitas and carne. We started with a cup of tortilla soup and finished with a churro.
