First time trying brick and brew. Honestly, I was super disappointed in the food. I can definitely see this being a great place to meet some friends and grab a drink, but the burger tasted burnt, the mustard served with the pretzels was pretty awful, and the dessert donuts were not cooked all the way through. The corn queso dip was pretty great though. Maybe it was an off night, but we won't be returning. 4 stars for the service and atmosphere (dining outside would have been much nicer if tables were available). I'd like to add, they were quick to have the food out, quick to take away unused plates, and quick to clean up dirty tables. I can SEE how this would be a cool place to hang, but if you want a good burger, maybe skip it. read more

USUALLY a great place for a craft cocktail and a burger / pizza. More ambitious menu items are often a miss. Last visit had a bad experience with cocktails, as the bartender was inexperienced and wait staff was slow. However, that was an exception to date. Long lines for a reason, but generally quick to move. No reservations is a bit annoying. Fun atmosphere especially with the open doors in the summer. read more

Getting a table was terrible! If you have a party if 7 or more , DONT GO!! They make you wait for hours! But food good, we asked to put 2 tables together and he said he couldn't, we couldn't understand why. The major problem was don't tell us 20 minute wait if we are waiting an hour and 15 minutes. I spent a much needed night out at this lovely Gastropub in Media. This was my first time here, and the interior is so warm and inviting! We were seated at a booth in the corner, the menu offers New American style comfort food, a food special list, and a rather large list of whiskeys. We opted for a bunch of items to share - mussels, fried pickles, confit wings, honey ginger balsamic wings, octopus, mushroom pizza, wild boar sliders and caramel beignets. We were definitely in for a treat! The mussels were served in a spicy chipotle broth, topped with grilled bread. The mussels were juicy and flavorful, with a kick of spice in the end from the broth. I sampled a confit wing and a honey ginger balsamic wing, and both were crisp and coated in different sauces, but I favored the honey wing more. The fried pickles were very thinly sliced, coated in breading and served with what I believe was a type of mayo-based rémoulade - these were so delicious! The octopus was very, very tender, it almost melted in your mouth. The last thing I tried was the wild boar sliders - mini pork patties topped with gruyère cheese, apple compote, and crisp onion straws, served with a side of house fries. I didn't get to try the mushroom pizza or beignets - quite frankly I was too stuffed! But I did sample the Media 101 cocktail - fruity and effervescent! I would love to come back here soon, especially when Dining Under the Stars starts back up this spring! read more

Normally I enjoy the environment, meals, and service but one time my food came out wrong (the same item I usually ordered) and my waitress did not believe that it was wrong or offer to fix it in any way. We had dinner with another couple here on Monday night. Everything was great! They place was so crowded, especially for a Monday night I was surprised. Yet, we were seated immediately! The bar is very unique looking, and we enjoyed the decor. Exposed brick, street lamps, boards on the walls. To drink I had Gatsby. A not too sweet cocktail. Very good! I ordered the mushroom pizza. It had goat and mozzarella cheese and all different types of mushrooms. It was very yummy! The fiancé had a fried chicken sandwich recommended by the server. Who was friendly and prompt. I liked the pizza better. The chicken wasn't anything special. If I'm back in Philly, I'd definitely visit again! read more

We were there on Sunday. The Manhattan and the wings according to my husband are awesome. I see how the establishment is saving money. I ordered an Aperol Spritz and it came in a thimble sized glass, not even a wine glass. I hate when places do this kind of thing. The bartender was ok. Not the friendliest. Friends were here from out of town, and we walked down State street looking for somewhere to eat when Brick and Brew caught our eye. This is also my first time eating here. The atmosphere is inviting, and I really liked the decoration. The food was served in small cast iron skillets, very fresh and hot. I thought the wood fire oven was really cool. The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly. The pizza was good, nothing incredible, but I enjoyed it. The brussels sprouts tasted good, but we wish they had a crisp. The short rib mac and cheese was satisfying but lacked a sharpness especially with the cheese. Overall, we got what we expected and enjoyed our meals, but we wish it was slightly more affordable for a lunch. It would be better for a nice dinner out or a special occasion. read more

Came by for dinner last night- 4 adults and an infant. We had to wait, but the hostess was really nice about keeping us posted as the little was getting antsy. We got a great table by the kitchen. The food was good... we split the sprouts, I had a mushroom pizza, and we split the cookie sundae for desert. Everything was executed 100% perfectly. But the service was really where this place shined. Our server, Laura, and her support crew made sure that our adult meal was top notch, but that our tiny person had everything she needed to keep the adult meal on-track My one friend ordered a veggie burger but they brought him the sliders instead. 3 people came to apologize for this mistake and his veggie burger was delivered literally 2 minutes later. We don't get out often, but Brick and Brew was a total Sunday night WIN! Loved it. We'll definitely be back! read more

Went in right after opening and we were the third table sat. Somehow, a chicken caesar salad and burrito took 50 minutes. To the point, where we had to ask for it to go as we were in a travel time crunch that we never thought would have been in jeopardy when we sat down 10 minutes after opening. We asked for everything to go, and when we got to finally eat our food, the fries were not even cooked. I don't mean soggy, I mean not cooked, and the burrito was an absolute mess. I asked for the manager as we were walking out, and he looked at me blankly. He stated, "I would've come over had he known" That is your actual job to notice how many upset customers are in your restaurant, especially ones that you noticed sitting for a long time as you hung out at the bar. Ever since this location has reopened, it has not been worth the time, money, or frustration. If you're going to this location make sure you have plenty of time and patience. read more

I rarely take the time to write unless it's exceptional or deplorable. This place has so much good that just a few tweaks here and there and I would make it a go to spot... so of course I have to say something. I was so excited about the menu. Chances are taken and I love bravery with food. We ordered the Duck Fat Wings, which in theory is delicious! My first bite, inedible... literally could not finish. My boyfriend was laughing at the face I made until he tried a bite and agreed we wouldn't even take them home. The manager came by and asked about the food. I told her my perception and she said, "this is exactly the amount of sauce they use and that "you" just don't like the amount"... yes ma'am. In restaurant terms please let me clarify... please take them away! Since she had NO intention of taking them OFF my bill I do NOT want to look at them the rest of my dinner, duh... this only made me angry. I like to order in stages on date night so as not to be rushed to eat and leave. After the wings I ordered a salad... and left hungry. (The salads flavor profile was amazing, the only protein was half a pickled egg and a splash of cheese) I worked all through college in fine dinning and clearing a table would be #1 but even MORE would have been taking it off my bill. As an owner myself of 2 successful practices, this is just simple good business. Sometimes you have to eat the cost of goods to retain a potential repeat customer. Ordered take out. For the white bean hummus and the mushroom soup and totally hit the spot! They packed the hummus, flatbread, and roasted veggies separately but all together it's great. The flatbread has garlic cooked on it and the veggies are a great array. Soup was also delicious. read more

Brick and brew has been one of our favorite spots for quite some time. We were bummed when it was closed for so long and happy to see it re open. We dig the new layout and the warm inviting vibe. We sat outside. Our service was great and everyone who worked there couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating to us and our rambunctious 2 year old. Our problem was with the food. I remember everything at brick and brew being made to order and fresh I mean they even used to make their own ketchup (glad they stopped that by the way). Tonight it seemed different. My burger was clearly frozen at some point earlier that day or the day before and was not fresh made like I remember from years past. The guacamole on my wife's mahi lettuce wraps was brown and I wonder if it was squeezed out of a plastic package or just made fresh way earlier in the day. My sons mac and cheese, altho delicious was like an awkward neon yellow color. Gave off homer simpson nuclear reactor vibes. I will be sad if brick and brew has turned into just another fast dining type mass produced food establishment. Theres plenty of them around and thats always what kept us coming back. This is a really great place to go with some friends to get a drink. The food is delicious and they have tons of drink options. The staff seems to be really friendly and quick in their feet. Our waiter really new his stuff. I have a gluten allergy and they were able to accommodate me well !! In other words, they have some really delicious gluten-free options (including drinks!!) This place is awesome every single time. Sure sometimes you have to wait, but that is what happens when you're a business taking off in a place like Media. It means it's taking off which is great for a small town. The drinks made in house are what pulled me in, but when I tried the food I really became hooked. The short rib grilled cheese? Like come on, what is there not to like about that? My go to every time however are the prosciutto fries. So insanely delicious. The thing I love about this place is that they use so many unique ingredients that work perfectly together. The menu pushes you out of the norm of most places which is exciting! If you're looking for a solid place to get good drinks, you should definitely go to Brick & Brew. I've been there twice now and I've been really impressed by the cocktails. I've had the signature Whiskey Sour, which is one of my favorites, and it's perfect - not too sweet and not too sour, with just the right amount of alcohol. My friend and I watched a few people get mojitos at the bar, so we decided to try them. I HIGHLY recommend- for just $9 they come in a tall highball glass, and with just the right amount of all the ingredients. The bartenders really know what they're doing at this place. As for food, I would say it's pretty good, but it just depends on what you get. My friend and I split the prosciutto fries and I highly recommend, they were delicious and a generous portion. My friend got the calamari salad which was really tasty- the calamari was cooked perfectly. I got the spicy sausage pizza which I was really excited about, but honestly wasn't impressed. It was difficult to eat because the crust was really hard and the pizza itself was too thin. Think it was in the oven too long. Wouldn't recommend. read more

Gave this location a shot after about a year (more details below) and I'm glad i did. Went on a quiet Sunday night. Immediately got a seat, your wait staff are very friendly and everyone is dressed so nice. I love the vintage style interior and heavy wooden chairs. The bartenders are great! Our mixed drinks were wonderful and very well priced ($10 for a well sized fancy mixed drink made with good spirits and mixed by a dapper gentleman in 2017 is a very good price). The prosciutto provolone fries are still the greatest thing on this earth. We got the Tavern Burger and the Short Rib Grilled Cheese. Both were accompanied by HUGE servings of your delicious fries (and some of the best ketchup that has existed). Short rib grilled cheese is gigantic and tasty (that's what she said) and the burger was good. Brick and Brew Media is a fantastic example of an Olde City style pub without going into the actual mean Philadelphia. Alright I was boycotting this location for a while (I love the original) because one of the chef's started a screaming match with me while i was parking outside of Baker Street Tattoo. He told me that the parking lot was for Brick and Brew employees only and not for "anyone else", in his words. My buddies who work at Baker Street says this is a daily occurance for them and not to take it personally, but the chef's self righteous-ness pissed me off. read more

The Media location has the worst customer service! We ordered a caesar salad and it was a cabbage salad! Yuck! When letting the server know that I was not satisfied with it, they took the plate and tossed in the trash. We asked for it to come off the bill, which didn't happen. Then spoke to supervisor who said, "well that's what you ordered, its your problem". They charged my card after I took it off my bill. Will not return. Awful! read more

This is my second time here and I had a bit of a better experience with the food. My dad and I came on a Thursday night--and the place was packed. Was able to be seated fairly quickly at the pizza bar and ordered a few drinks, appetizers, and entrees. The pumpkin martini was soooo good. A bit on the sweet side, but very punpkiny. We started off with the deviled eggs and the stuffed pineapple. Contrary to popular belief, i actually liked the deviled eggs much more than the stuffed pineapple. The eggs had a nice spicy kick to it, although a bit on the expensive side for $8. The pineapple was a bit too sweet for me and with the sweet BBQ pork on top, it was a little much. For entrees, we had the wild mushroom pizza and the buttermilk fried chicken. I think I let the chicken sit too much, because the sauce in the sandwich made the chicken soggy. Not much taste in the chicken itself. The pizza was great hot out of the oven! But when it cools down, it gets a little doughy--despite it being a thin crust pizza. If you're in town and need a place to grab beers, it's definitely a place to check out. The food? It's ok. read more

Simply the best place in media, I believe. The restaurant is well decorated, the service superb, the specials delicious, the drinks amazing. We followed Carla from another establishment in media, we are so thankful we did. I try and get to media brick and brew at least 2 times a month. We love the cigar boxes for the checks so much we have donated about 30 boxes so far to our favorite place. I can't wait for the milkshake to come back on the menu for dessert. So think you need to eat it with a spoon!!. Keep up the fantastic work. read more

Twelve hours later and I am still full! The food is great, the decor is fun and the drinks were amazing! Some day I will try the dessert milkshake but if you do - come hungry! Really hungry!! They are huge and look to be a bit overwhelming. We had the crab dip, prosciutto fries, stuffed pineapple and the bacon appetizers. All were delicious. The crab dip and the stuffed pineapple were probably my favorites. My husband said the confit wings were the best wings he has ever had. I had a pepperoni pizza and it was very good. I had high hopes here. I ate here with 3 friends on a Friday night (maybe that was the problem). We were seated pretty quickly and had decent drinks at the bar while we waited. The only place to sit was at high tables, 5'2" people don't like high stools because our feet don't touch the ground. I found the food to be loaded with fat and greasy. What an awesome place! The service was warm and welcoming! Due to COVID-19 they only have outdoor seating and reservations are required. We were late (bad I know) but they still seated us and we had a great lunch! We had the mahi-mahi lettuce wraps which were amazing. Great mix of crisp butter lettuce, spicy sauce and beautifully cooked mahi-mahi. We followed that with the house burgers - also amazing. The burger was fresh and flavorful and the bun was out of this world! It came with a side of home-made thin potato chips - simply delicious. I never finish fries but I was not about to let these beauties go uneaten. The service was just wonderful - friendly and personable (which means a lot these days).
