Great place to study in LA when you have some down time or when you want to get some work done. There's so many great spots to sit outside as well as inside the cafe and upstairs as well. I got the lychee oolong tea and it was delicious!! Not too much of that "tea" taste and you still get the slight lychee flavor throughout. I was so sad that I couldn't try the scones there, but they all looked amazing!! Green tea scone looked especially delicious. The cashier recommended the lavender white chocolate. I was definitely eyeing the new york cheesecake in the display behind me but i resisted because i was still full from lunch. I will definitely be back here. A really cute coffee place in Larchmont. The ambience is really chill and study friendly here. The seating area inside/upstairs is very limited so you might have to sit outdoor. I thought their wifi was pretty fast for a coffee shop, cause it's usually pretty slow. I got a large iced vanilla almond latte and my friend got the iced soy match green tea latte. This place is extremely convenient for the student that is studying for an admissions test (like myself) or is simply in need for a workspace. They only have outdoor seating right now, due to COVID, but they have outlets outside available in case you need to charge your laptop. This in itself, is enough to give them five stars. It's so hard to find a place with indoor seating now a days, and if outdoors is our only options, what better than to have outlets provided as well? Devastated after finding out HOME no longer carries the hot apple pie tea* I so desired, I searched yelp for 'apple tea' that would hopefully quench my craving. Brick & Scones was the first place that popped up and after reading some reviews, I felt this would be worth a try. From the second half of their namesake, the chocolate chip scone looked mighty appealing, this coming from a non-scone person. May have to consider...but onto the tea... Their green tea with apple flavor was a delight to my senses, and I'm glad I went out of my way for this place. I was only offered a Large size (I got it as take-away, so not sure if they offer different sizes if you consume it there) but I gulped the whole thing down anyway. As for the place itself, it's cute, with a fairly spacious back room on the same floor where laptops were the majority; several faces glowed from screens, cup in hand or right next to their tablets, nooks, ipads, you name it, it was represented. The prices are decent. The ambiance is great. It's relatively quiet, and the tea is nice. I've tried a couple fruity selections of the tea (they have pretty long names, but along the lines of strawberry or lychee tea flavors) and I've had their scones. The sauces included with the scone were awesome (lemon curd I think?) and the lattes are brewed strong and very creamy. Only real problems I have with this place is that the teapots I receive are sometimes chipped really bad, and it's kind of sad to see it be reused over and over instead of replaced. It's so easy to study here, at least 90% of the customers come here to just sip and study or do work. read more

I came here for lunch with a couple friends. Their parking lot is tiiiiiiiiny so I ended up finding street parking about a block and a half away. Street parking is pretty good in this area so I wouldn't consider parking to be an issue. You order at the counter, where there is an extensive menu displayed on the walls. It took me a long time to decide what I was going to get :P I ended up getting their curry chicken salad, but with no olives. Unfortunately I did not take a picture of the menu and they don't have one online, so I cannot tell you what else was in the salad! It was pretty good though. I was on a no-wheat diet at the time which is why I opted for the salad rather than the sandwich. My friend JL got an iced coffee along with their matcha white chocolate scone, which sounded awesome! I even cheated on my diet to try a bite of it. Sadly, it was dry :( Neither of us cared for the scone. Our other friend got a sandwich, but I do not recall what kind. I think he said it was just okay. The interior of this place looks really cool and seems like a great study location. As a result, we were forced to go outside to the patio, which was fine since the weather was nice and the tables are all shaded. Overall we found the food to be just okay, so I doubt I will be coming back. Probably my favorite study spot to date. Larchmont in general just has such a beautiful and enjoyable atmosphere. Something about the vibe at Bricks & Scones really allows me to be super productive and focused. In absolute LOVVVVE with the outdoor patio. Serene, chill, quiet, but not too quiet. Surrounded with eye-pleasing greenery and positive energy. I highly recommend their veggie wrap if you're in the mood for something light and healthy. Comes with a side salad. Generous portion. They have a large selection of sandwiches and salads. As I waited for my wrap I saw a few people come out with their trays and their dishes looked very simple and delicious. They have a drink menu just as large. Coffee, tea, smoothies, juice, etc. I went with an Iced Hong Kong Tea with almond milk and it was so delicious. Not too sweet and very refreshing. My friend had the Iced Black Tea Lemonade; PERFECT! If I'm going to have to take class in the summertime, I better get to at least enjoy the outdoors. I like Bricks and scones and come here often to do my homework when I cannot do it at home due to too many distractions. The place is spacious with plenty of sitting areas- outdoors, back, downstairs and upstairs. The upstairs sitting area is nice and quiet -conducive to studying and doing your homework. The place is dimly lit but most tables have study lamps in them to provide the necessary lighting. Plenty of electrical outlets and extension cords to plug in your laptop or any electronic devices. Free wifi but can be a little slow especially if you have tons of people competing for it. The downstairs sitting area can get crowded most of the time so it is good to come in early to get a good spot. Most people does that and stay for a while. They have plenty of board games which the patrons can use free of charge. If I am not mistaken, you can only use the board games in the back patio. I am not too sure since I only come here to study and eat. Parking is on the street which has a two hour limit and I hear they have parking in the back but I have yet to find out how to get to that spot. They have a small counter by the entrance that has display cases holding their baked goodies. You can walk up to the counter and place your order, wait for it and take it to your table. I Usually try to find a spot first then order so I won't have to carry the food while trying to find a table. That helps when there are a bunch of people who are in line and will be competing for tables when they are done with their order. I always order their afternoon tea service no matter what time of the day it is. It comes with two scones, lemon curd, clotted cream, and jam plus a large pot of your choice of tea. I like that they use loose tea instead of tea bags and if I am not mistaken their tea is from Lupicia's. The scones are great with or without the spreads. The prices of their products are fairly reasonable. Service is okay. Some are friendly, others are cordial and polite. They really do not bother anyone no matter how long they stay. It is self-service so you have to walk up to the counter and ask if you need anything like more hot water for your tea, etc. Overall, I will continue to come to this place as I have in the past. read more

When you walk in it seems like there's not a lot of space but there is. I like how their menu is set up and how they seem very organically/environmentally conscious. I enjoyed one cup of their brew of the day. I wouldn't mind coming back to study if I'm ever in this area again. Legit study place. I was outside and even that was nice. They even have an outlet outside. I love how the outside also has a barrier of shrubbery and trees from the street so you can really be tucked away. Get the bottomless tea: if you're a thirsty thelma like me, it'll be totally worth it. I drank like 5 cups of that ish. It was slightly ridiculous how expensive it was (7 bucks) but then again, i drink a whole lot sometimes. Sesame balls are yummy! they're korean style bread, so I was glad that they had it here. It's not the same pastries you would think that american/french bakeries have, that bread is a little chewy and a little bland- it's not like a pastry where it's sweet or distinctly savory. Blueberry scone: Yum. I like it because it's not too "scone-y" meaning it wasn't as dry and crumbly and hard as a regular scone. It was more soft. TELL THEM to give you LEMON CURD AND CLOTTED CREAM! It's free, just ask. It's literally the bee's knees. I would say that this place isn't the best tea or pastry place or coffee I've had, BUT in LA, where the parking is tough and the prices are steep and there is literally NOWHERE you can study with a laptop, this place is great! plenty of outlets, just make sure you get here EARLY to claim a spot to study or else you might be stuck outside. Service, efficiency and management is HORRIBLE at this place. Given this is a counter order place, we waited 30 mins until the buzzer went off. When I excitedly got to the register, guess what? It was completely the wrong order. So I stood there for another 10 mins for them to make my food. Then they forgot about the sesame roll. By the time we got our food we finished our drinks already! When I complained to the staff, one of the workers had the audacity to tell me "we have a lot of orders" rather than apologizing. Excuse me???!!!! No Sh*t you have a lot of orders, you are a freaking restaurant! If you cannot handle the workload then maybe the management should add more employees. It is a Saturday morning, it is foreseeable there will be a lot of patrons. Yes the food and drinks are decent, but with that kind of attitude and management, will not be returning. read more

Awesome study spot! I've been searching around for different study spots near work/ far enough away from home so that I don't pass out instead of study. The boo thang and I went here to get some work done...not THAT kind of work, if yannowwhatimean. Anyway! An issue with this place is the parking, street parking is your best bet even though we heard/saw the little parking lot in the back. The street parking is 2 hour max until 6PM. The place itself has a bunch of seating outside and inside (upstairs and downstairs). I'm sure it gets packed quickly during the lunch rush and after work. The sandwiches we got were delicious! A little on the pricey side (~$8 for the mango curry chicken sandwich +side salad), but it's a small price to pay to make your taste buds happy. What I appreciated is that there is a quite area inside, the music isn't blaring, and in the outdoor seating area there is a bunch of outlets. If you're writing a paper or working on your laptop, you are not banished to the inside of the place just because you need an outlet. I'm a fan of Bricks & Scones mostly because of the atmosphere. I know it's a coffee house but I come here because it's a nice place to get work done. They offer an inside area that's pretty quiet and an outside patio with lots of plants and small trees which I think is a nice atmosphere. I always make a purchase when visiting a coffee/tea house when my real purpose is to milk them for all the free wifi I can get. If you're gonna camp out at a place for hours, at least throw them a couple bucks. I've been here an hour after they open and also about two hours before they close. It gets pretty crowded between 1-5. Maybe I saw it wrong but the outside areas have more electrical outlets than inside. Outside they have plenty of outlets. You can find them sitting either on or in a potted plant. The inside area (downstairs) is nice if you need a quiet environment but they like to give seating preference to those ordering food during the lunch hours which makes sense. Never been upstairs. Coffee, food and service - I'd say it's on par with more other coffee shops. The service is okay to below average. I once asked a cashier what a macchiato was and his exact words were, "I think it has espresso in it?" Now I didn't know but I expected someone that works there to know. Their espresso drinks come in cup sizes are about a size smaller than most other places but the prices are the same. A large mocha runs about $4.75 which is expected. However, a large here is a small/medium at most other places. I'd say a large was about a 12oz cup and the medium is roughly 8oz. I've ordered the caprese sandwich and I thought it was really good. do try! Looking for a chill place to sit in or outside and get some stuff done, Bricks & Scones is a good option. read more

Found this little place walking down Larchmont one day. It's a really good place to study or have lunch with a friend. They do have outlets, but it's first-come, first-serve. The interior is beautiful. It reminds me of Victorian times with a big chandelier hanging down. Not only do they sell coffee and other drinks, but they also sell sandwiches, salads, and breakfast. It's a little pricey, but cafes tend to be pricey because most people sit there for 2-4 hours using the wifi. I would definitely come back and do some work there. read more

The ambiance in this cute little place is comfortable and highly suitable for reading, studying or just dreaming up your next story to write. I gave it only 3 stars because I ordered expresso and it was lukewarm instead of hot. I was very disappointed when the cashier did not offer me the courtesy of suggesting an alternative but after a few minutes she made me another cup which was still lukewarm. I didn't feel like quibbling because this is the day after Christmas and I didn't want to get my blood pressure up on such a beautiful day. So, I peacefully drank the coffee and quietly left not satisfied in the least with my coffee fix. If management reads YELP reviews I'd highly suggest that the staff behind the counter be more customer friendly and repair their coffee maker. Bricks & Scones is a hidden treasure on Larchmont. I am genuinely a big fan of their coffee drinks. I usually ask for a recommendation if I want to try something new and the employees there are quite sweet! Excellent customer service! I've never had any complaints. In terms of the space, there is a large, beautiful outdoor area in the front. This is a great spot to have lunch with someone on a nice day. Inside there are tables and chairs in the back. You'll also find two restrooms in the back, which is great when you're spending a couple hours there. There's also an upstairs area that is quite nice as well. I recommend using the back or upstairs areas to study. Most people that are there will be pretty quiet regards but pop some headphones in if you want less noise. Lastly, I just want to mention how good their food is. For a cafe, their food is a lot better than expected. If you're ever in the area, I recommend giving this place a shot! read more

So glad to have found this place. Everything about it from inside to outside, top to bottom, food and drink is just 5 stars in my opinion. The outside patio is first off...very inviting...it makes you want to go in. The inside is both well lit, cozy and clean. This is my favorite study spot in all of LA. It is relatively spacious - outside patio for the talkers, indoor seatings for folks who are trying to be productive. For the most parts, people are pretty good about staying quiet inside, which I love because I just want to focus on getting my work done. It's also refreshing when coffee shops don't play loud EDM music in the background. Sooo.. drinks aren't great. I've tried their Chai Latte, Hong Kong Milk Tea, Iced Coffee, and Iced Teas. Everything tasted pretty watered down. Blueberry Scone is good but it can get a little too salty. The Sesame Ball is tasty if you microwave it. The only food that I get excited about is their MANGA CURRY CHICKEN SANDWICH. I usually get half-chicken ($8-9), which comes with salad and it's very satisfying. Such a cute little cafe! My friends and I stopped in to order breakfast to go. The cashier and barista were very nice. I ordered the Hong Kong Milk Tea (large is $4.50) and the Croissant Panini ($8.50). The Hong Kong Milk Tea is straight. Tastes like a standard Hong Kong milk tea so not much to say about that. I forgot to tell the barista to use Soy/Almond milk instead though so I'm not sure if they offer that or whether it costs more. Will inquire next time my lactose-intolerant friends! Gorgeous café located in the Larchmont/Hancock Park area. Just a short 15 minute drive away from USC (on a good day) and you'll find yourself far away enough from campus to feel like you've escaped, but close enough that you can keep coming back regularly. Definitely a cozy atmosphere inside with some really cool seating arrangements. If you decide to sit upstairs, there's this brick tunnel which has a really cool "castle-like" feel to it. The outside patio is huge and has lots of space and Larchmont Blvd doesn't have too much car traffic going down it so you're not bombarded with the sounds of traffic as you try to get your work done. Now for the drinks - this is your typical coffee shop with all the espresso, drip, and iced coffee that you could ever want, but they also serve some pretty cool smoothies as well as some other iced drinks. This place also has sandwiches, and of course, scones. I haven't tried any of their food yet but I'll definitely re-review once I get the chance to. This is an awesome place to get work done. Free Wi-Fi is always a plus, and being able to do it in the comfort of this place is awesome. If you live in Koreatown, Larchmont, Hancock Park, or you have a car at USC, you have no excuse not to come here and check this place out! read more

Such a quaint little coffee shop with a nice homey vibe to it. Ordered their caramel macchiato and it was really good! I'm always down to find new coffee shops to visit so I can get some studying done and this place is defff a nice one to visit and they have a decent amount of outlets. It seems like a lot of people who visit here are down to get down to business so it's on the quieter side (we came around 5pm on a Sunday and stayed a few hours). The outside patio was also really pretty, definitely seems like the more "social" area and they have cute lights hanging around. Parking is not the most convenient in this location, imo. So I'd be weary to come here during peak traffic hours. read more

This is my favorite place to take meetings in the area. It's a coffee shop but nothing generic here. Great coffee. Good eats and a huge outdoor area that is just perfect during pandemic times. It's north of the main drag on Larchmont so kore mellow and pretty easy to find street parking. read more

Love the vibe of this place! Set up to look kinda like a cozy cottage, it has comfy couches and a warm feel to it. With most people minding their own business / typing away at their laptops / free wifi, it makes for THE perfect study spot. In fact, the second level is set up library-style (as in, you know, your phone has to be on vibrate, silence is expected, long conversations are frowned upon...) It can get pretty busy though, with people hogging tables for hours at a time. The reason it gets 4 stars and not 5 is because I'm not a huge fan of any of their baked goods, despite it being called bricks and SCONES. The one thing I do like a lot, however, is their Turkey Pesto Panini paired with a side Tomato Soup or Salad... Mmmmmm! Definitely my choice of place when I need to get some work done! read more
