We have eaten here several times out of convenience as we were staying at The Golden Hotel. Although I would give the hotel 5 stars....the Bridgewater is very mediocre indeed. Although we may grab a quick bite here again when we are traveling through Golden,,again out of convenience...it will not be with excitement! Great place (only place?) for a fancy brunch in Golden. Warning - they stop serving breakfast at noon sharp! But they have both mimosas and bloody Mary's and serve good sized portions. An entree will definitely not leave you hungry. Many different window tables can give you a good view. read more

Excellent food with exquisite presentation. I had the hummus (three types in the appetizer plate - garlic, pesto and sun dried tomato), along with a half of an entree salad. The salad was the beet salad with spinach, candied pecans, and coriander dressing. Everything was delicious and delivered promptly by friendly staff. read more

Ok, we are back at the Golden Hotel and decided to have coffee and breakfast on the desk which is the main reason to come to this restaurant. The reason for the continued low rating is that the staff does not seemed to be trained to be attentive to the patrons. We where not greeted by the hostess, she didn't even attempt to make eye contact with me, so I asked if there was a wait for a table of two and she answered " I will be right back". No Good morning or any type of dialog that would indicate that she, the face of the restaurant was glad to have patrons. The restaurant was NOT busy, several empty tables and plenty of staff around. After being seated it took over 10 min to be be contacted by staff. Ordered coffee which took another 15 min to come. Then had to ask for cream, had to ask several times for refills........so the theme here is the staff is either not directed to be attentive or the management is not paying any attention to how the patrons are being tended to. Or they don't care. The staff if friendly, but just not "on it". The food is descent. Not great. $13 for a breakfast burrito is a little steep, but what you are paying for is the view.....I really hoped for a better "round 2" but not so much. read more

This place is very old fashioned. Which is not a bad thing if the service and food are good. But this place was very disappointing. It took 45 minutes for soup arrive at our table (which is not exactly made fresh upon order), and an hour for the food to even be mentioned to us by the waiter, that it will be out soon. The appetizers we ordered were just ok. Not anything worth mentioning. So make your own decision, but not again. read more

This place is just okay... The food is pretty good, but the service is consistently slow and just plain bad -- we've had drink orders completely forgotten, wrong food delivered, sat at the table for fifteen minutes before being noticed -- on multiple visits. Fortunately or unfortunately, their real estate sort of "makes" the experience, so it's your typical bring-the-parents-here place... Don't worry, the food is good and the menu is interesting. The only reason I'm not giving it one star is because of the location. I had high hopes for this place because they have a really nice outdoor patio with a great view of the river. Other than that, their food is meh, their beer and drink selection is meh, their service is meh, and it's way overpriced for the quality. My four friends and I went on a Sunday afternoon about 5pm. It was not that busy but we waited at least 10 minutes to even be acknowledged by anyone asking us if we'd like a table (and there was no wait for tables). When we were finally seated, it took at least another 10 minutes for the server to take our drink orders. They have about 5 or 6 specialty cocktails, and I wasn't sure which I wanted, so I asked for the server's recommendation. She recommended the Blackberry Splash (don't remember the exact name) so I went with that. When it came, I tried it and it was terrible. Everyone at my table tried it and also agreed it was terrible. I think I've sent back a drink maybe once or twice in my life because I'm not super picky, but I just couldn't bear to drink this one. When I asked the server if I could get something else instead, she acted annoyed. I ordered a Colorado Mule, which didn't even come in a copper cup, and it was still meh, but I drank it anyway. Three of us ordered the fish and chips, which was not horrible, but not great either. All of our cuts had the exact same triangle shape, which screams pre-made frozen in a factory, not made at the restaurant. The best thing about that dish were the fries. I also had a cup of their cream of asparagus soup, which was the most watery soup I've ever had. The taste was ok, but it was definitely not creamy as the name implies. After we were done with our meal, we made our way over to the bar to grab a few more drinks and hang out for a bit longer. When I went to order from the bartender, I told her that the Blackberry Splash was terrible, and started to ask for another recommendation, but before I could even finish, she cut me off and said, "Well then you won't like anything on the menu" in a snooty voice. Um, ok... wow. How about asking what I didn't like about it? Or actually asking me what I like and making a recommendation? I think I was kind of shocked by that response, so I sheepishly ordered another mediocre Colorado Mule. Needless to say, I don't think I'll be back here. As a resident of Golden CO, I would recommend finding a different place to go. Food is overpriced and service is recently terrible. Have been there several times, most recently was told by the manager that bottomless mimosas are limited to 3 drinks which mainly consist of orange juice anyways. A server there named David will make the experience uncomfortable if he has to return to your table more than twice. There is better food and better service elsewhere. read more

I've never written a review before, but after my horrible experience here I dicided I had better warn others. Every month there is a Moto Guzzi club meeting here. I've attended three so far and will NEVER order food from this place again. I had the Country Fried Steak and Egg breakfast and about eight hours later I came down with the worst cramping and diarrhea that I've ever had in my life. I spent the next 24 hours in the bathroom and I had to call in sick at my job for the first time in seven years. I have had some bad meals before, but this one was by far the worst. read more

I was in Golden on business and was kinda in a bad mood. It was last Wednesday on prime rib night. I parked myself in the lounge just to kill some time until my entourage came. The bartender was Joey and I immediately could tell he was from the East Coast because of his sense of humor, which had me laughing. I was put at ease by him while I drank my cocktail and had a nice piece of prime rib, which was very good and came out quickly. I travel a lot for the wine business and sometimes I just like to relax and have a cocktail. Joey was great and I will come back again when I am in town. They are always accommodating and the food is good. I love the vibe and location. It's casual and relaxed. They don't have a wine or beer binder but they do have a decent selection. The service is good and quick to fix anything they can. All and all I enjoy it and so does my family. read more

Celebrating a good friend's 60th Birthday at the Bridgewater Grill only to have a new policy of Everyone must have a "State Issued ID "to be served alcohol. It is the restaurants policy. Real spoiler for our friend who had a medical card with birthdate and other photo ID's. I am a firm believer in caution in serving alcohol. But really??? We had a choice of staying or leaving. Also the rolls were hard as rocks and when we asked our waiter he tried to show us (unsuccessfully) that oh they really are hard. Good waiters would take them without question. There's nothing more pleasant on a beautiful day than sitting on the patio and enjoying the food (usually with more-than-substantial portions) and view. However, yesterday we had an additional pleasure - our waitstaff, Melissa. She was a joy - attentive and thoughtful. One example - we ordered a la carte breakfast. She brought us a combination from the menu which had a bit more food than we had ordered but was less expensive. We will continue frequenting the Grill and hope we have Melissa serving us. read more

Dinner with family last night was very yummy. The steak salad had a nice amount of meat. My son had a hamburger which loved. Fish and chips was unusual with a large fish filet rather than multiple smaller ones. I had salmon which was cooked exactly as I wanted. Great location and amazing salmon/brie sandwich. Service is slow and the wait staff chats a lot to one another (loudly) at the host stand, which is RIGHT next to several tables. I was at guest in the Bridgewater grill this Sunday and we were completely ignored ignored by david. The service was substandard.

The happy hour menu provided food that was on par with any other bar in town. Abby was a wonderful server and very attentive. My biggest gripe was that once seated on the patio were were told it was a "no happy hour zone." Told we could go to the other area of the patio where it was happy hour, but no seating there (maybe 15 seats total) or could go to the bar. Then they told us there was no bartender at the bar. Staff seemed to understand how stupid it was and the supervisor, was told he wasn't the manager, said he would honor happy hour at our original table. All toll, it was a run around and seems that the manager is not really prepared. Really no one in the bar to serve?? Just felt like a penny-pinching place. It seemed nice and maybe I went on a bad night but the fish n chips was good except the fries were overdone. My girlfriend had the jerk pasta which was dry. We used to eat here quite often. We went there recently and It was disappointing to try to order something gluten free. Often green chili or red chili and nachos are gluten free, however, not here all those items have gluten. It left us with a very limited menu. We just traveled in Ireland and most soups were gluten free and and there were many gluten free options. Hoped for better from the Golden Hotel. read more

Tonight my husband dined at Bridgewater Grill with two of our dear friends. This was our first time dining at this restaurant and we were especially impressed with the outdoor patio overlooking the river. It was a beautiful evening and it was nice to enjoy dinner outside knowing autumn/winter looming around the corner. Overall, we were very pleased with the service and the food. I had the corn and green chili bisque, a small Caesar salad and the stuffed western Colorado beef burger, which were all very good. Definitely worth the visit!!! read more

Loved this place! We just moved to Golden about a month ago and this was our first venture out for brunch. The Bloody Mary was fantastic - just the right amount of spice. The chicken and waffles was unbelievably tasty. The husband is a vegetarian and even tried it - his comment was, "now that's the way chicken tenders are supposed to taste!". P.S. He's from the south, so he knows his fried chicken. He had an omelette, and had I not been so intent on eating every last bite of my meal, I would have tasted his, too. But, it received 5 stars by his standards. Not too pricey from what we've become accustomed to, so that was also nice. The restaurant sits next to a creek in downtown Golden, so the scenery was top notch. And, the service was outstanding. I just stopped in for cocktails last night. Doug was our bartender, and was awesome! We all had bloody marys, and they were delicious. My niece and nephew had their first Shirley temples, and they loved them. We didn't order food last night, but I've been there recently for dinner.
