I practically lived in this restaurant during my brief stay in Golden. They had a uniquely intriguing special each day that kept drawing me in. Food highlights were the Bacon-Wrapped Bison Meatloaf and the Salmon BLT. Both were equally delicious. Also, if you've never tried the Herman Joseph's Private Reserve, do it now! The staff was friendly and attentive. The restaurant (and the hotel) both have an old-west vibe, which I dig. I don't understand why this place currently only has a 3.5 star rating. Sure it's inside a hotel, but the restaurant could easily stand up on its own. read more

Food: We got the mushroom burger, wedge salad, and cup of green chili. The mushroom burger was UNBELIEVABLE. I will silently crave this sandwich many times once I leave. The wedge was fresh and delicious. And the green chili deserved its award winning title. The onion rings we got as a side were oddly watery. Not sure if that was from being frozen but probably needed to be cooked a bit longer. Service: Super attentive. Offered a blanket because it was a bit chilly outside which was clutch. Ambience: The patio was beautiful - overlooking the river. Really calm and peaceful. We were walking the trail in Golden and decided to stop in for lunch before continuing on our day. I have been wanting to check this spot out as their patio over sees the stream and of course we had our pupper. My husband got the fish and chips while I got a bowl of the green pork chili. I have been looking for a place that has good green chili as it is hit or miss here in Colorado. It was really good and even my husband tried it and liked (of course now I need to find a good recipe so I can make for us at home) but would rather cornbread than flour tortilla to accompany it. Terrible experience with service. Waitress took forever to get to the table to take our order, rarely checked on us, let our water go empty, no silverware or napkins, AND forgot our drinks till we were almost done eating. Plus, she added a 20% tip automatically b/c we were a party of six. For a $200 lunch, I expect at least mediocre and it was terrible. She didn't apologize. Someone else had to bring us to-go boxes. We had a few of their appetizers and they were delicious. Our dinner was also very good. We have two drinks and unfortunately neither of them were good. The old fashioned had small ice cubes and was meh. I then asked for a whiskey sour and did not drink it because it was terrible. Our waitress was amazing though and so sweet. read more

The restaraunt in the Holden Hotel is supposed to highly recommended, however our experience was less than expected. To start, the Lavanda cocktail was excellent! The lavender lemon and rose was a wonderful flavor combo. Our waiter was also fabulous and gave great recommendations and was super attentive. It was lovely to sit out on the deck and have the golden river view while enjoying this drink. Unfortunately, the positives ended there. The Ceaser salad was just a bit off. Not sure if the dressing had gone bad, but the taste was bland and very off. It didn't exactly taste like Ceaser dressing, and the after tast was horrible. My friend ordered a house salad with salmon and her salmon was over cooked and when she tasted the Ceaser she was a bit thrown since it had been highly reviewed. I tried to add crushed red pepper to hide the flavor and it only mildly worked. The smoked trout dip tasted way too heavily of the sour cream or whatever dairy product was in it. I was a bit shocked at how little smoked trout was in this dip, and what was worse, it seemed like there was an excess of Worcester sauce in there. It ultimately was like a Pinterest fail attempt. Usually this is an easy and fabulous dish at most places so we were pretty disappointed. This is a lovely spot for drinks, however nothing we had was worth recommending past that. read more

Solid spot to grab lunch by the Clear Creek River. The staff weren't the most attentive and the hostess wasn't the friendliest but overall it was still a pleasant experience. I ordered the Rocky Mountain Miners Salad and it was just what I needed on a hot spring day. Everything tasted fresh and the steak was cooked perfectly. My only knock was the blue cheese was a bit overpowering so perhaps a little less blue cheese and a tad more greens. read more

We were hesitant to try this place based off the yelp reviews.... SO GLAD WE DID. Oh man the Bridgewater grill gave me everything I needed from a date night dinner and more. My partner and I just moved to the area and have been scoping this place out for some time and I'm so glad we finally decided to try it. I got the Salmon BLTA.... Legitimately the best sandwich I've ever had, who know bacon and salmon go together?!? THEY DO. My boyfriend got the meatloaf and happily ate the entire thing. This was a quaint little place right along side the river which made the ambience really quaint. The menu doesn't have very many items on it it's more of a appetizer and burger type restaurant. The food was good, but the ambience was better. So if you're looking for a leisurely place to go sit outside and listen to the river while you eat you should definitely check this place up read more

I came here with my boyfriend and his parents on a Saturday evening for dinner. His parents arrived before we did and said there was a bit of a wait, but I guess someone canceled their reservation last minute and we were able to be seated within 10 minutes. We were seated outdoors on the patio, which was nice on a sunny warm day. They don't have heaters so if you get cold easily, make sure to bundle up! This restaurant is located inside the Golden Hotel. I didn't have high expectations for a hotel restaurant, but it was surprisingly good. My boyfriend ordered a Maker's Mark with Ginger Beer, and I ordered a New Zealand sauvignon blanc--you can never go wrong with a New Zealand white ;) My boyfriend said his drink was pretty weak, unfortunately, but the nice waitress took it back to the bartender who added a but more to it. I ordered a Miner's Salad, and subbed out the blue cheese for the goat feta cheese. I also subbed out the blue cheese dressing for a balsamic dressing instead. I'm not a fan of blue cheese, and it seems like this salad highlighted that. The substitution was great though! The beef tenderloins were cooked perfectly and they didn't skimp on the meat either! I loved how they topped the salad with fries. It was a great balance of carbs and protein! The service was a tad slow, but I think it was simply because they were busy and maybe short-staffed? The burrata appetizer came with pita which was odd, but still tasty. Would've preferred baguette for sure though. For entree, we got the salmon and fish and chips. Both were satisfying and filling. Went to BWG for a client lunch. The appetizer, Trout dip, was delicious. The entrees; Salmon BLT and Side Salad with salmon, were delicious. The menu is rather limited, but the food was good. The service, well... not so much. Waiters did not work as a team, individually they need a lot of training. They forget things, don't anticipate things (like you get fries with a meal, maybe offer ketchup?) Overall food got a 4 and service got a 2. Ambiance: dark, cold, not a lot going on there. read more

We went to Bridgewater Grill for Breakfast. It's located in the Golden Hotel. It's a nice establishment and right in the heart of Golden. I ordered the Golden Eggs Benedict and also tried the Salmon Avocado Toast. I'm a big fan of egg's Benedict but this Benedict lacked the flavor I hoped for. I had trouble distinguishing the ingredients. The eggs were topped on the pork belly and chive potato rosti. The chive potato rosti was basically a hash brown but didn't add much to the dish besides a little crunch. The hollandaise sauce was bland. The pork belly added a little flavor to the dish but overall I wouldn't order this dish again. The salmon avocado toast was covered in a lot of greens and just by looking at it you couldn't tell there was avocado, salmon or toast underneath. The avocado was almost more like a spread and there was very little of it on the toast. My friend ordered only an English muffin and her husband ordered toast with his breakfast. Both the toast and the English muffin came out about 5 minutes after all the other food was brought to the table and we had to ask for it twice. The waiter did apologize and said the kitchen was overwhelmed but the place was not busy. read more

We took a drive through the mountains today and ended up in one of our favorite towns, Golden. Several years ago we ate at the BWG and wanted to go back to have lunch by the water. Unfortunately the tables outside were all full but we were able to get a table inside. The decor is very nice and a part of the beautiful Golden Hotel. The service overall was good, albeit a bit slow for us to get our server to attend to us at first. I ordered the carnitas tacos with a salad. The salad was very fresh. The carnitas were just so-so. They were a little bland. My husband ordered an omelet. The omelet was overdone and the english muffin was not toasted. One bad note about the service was that a busser was moving a high chair and went behind my husbands chair but couldn't get though and actually bumped him multiple times. He even moved his chair and she kept bumping him to make way to get through when she could have easily just gone around the other way. The best restaurant in downtown golden! Great menu, excellent service, and the best views of the mountains. They have a dog friendly outdoor patio with great people watching along the creek. I love the fish and chips, mushroom burger, trout fish dip, and really everything on the menu! You can't go wrong here. They also have a brunch menu on weekends. This is my favorite place in all of Golden. I'm there at least once a week. Lucas the bar manager and Travis keep the indoor bar lively. I absolutely love the Margherita flatbread on the happy hour menu. Lots of fresh mozzarella and a drizzle of balsamic. The cod fish and chips are the best fish fry this former Wisconsin girl has found. The outdoor Patio and bar have the best view in all of Golden. You can see people tubing down the creek and people walking their dogs along the creek path. The patio is dog friendly. Seth at the patio bar is a hoot and I always ask for Breezy the server. There is plenty of indoor seating. It seems like the place to be for girls night out and family gatherings. I saw a bridal shower on the outdoor event space along the creek walk. The location is pretty cool The rest of our experience was bad, even for a hotel restaurant. The service and food were lousy. They were out of two of the four appetizers and several of the entrees. Our waitress brought entrees less than two minutes after serving soups and salads. My burger was bland and over-cooked. Our waitress apologized to two people in our party after realizing she forgot their drinks, but not until she brought the check and dinner was over. There are too many other good restaurants in the area to go back to Bridgewater Grille. read more

She was friendly, smiling, knowledgeable, and did not make us feel pressured. The food was incredible and the portions were huge! For starters, I had the green chili and my husband had the spinach salad. I understand why it has won awards! Delicious! For our main course, I ordered the bison and my husband had the steak diane.
