I came here with my boyfriend and his parents on a Saturday evening for dinner. His parents arrived before we did and said there was a bit of a wait, but I guess someone canceled their reservation last minute and we were able to be seated within 10 minutes. We were seated outdoors on the patio, which was nice on a sunny warm day. They don't have heaters so if you get cold easily, make sure to bundle up! This restaurant is located inside the Golden Hotel. I didn't have high expectations for a hotel restaurant, but it was surprisingly good. My boyfriend ordered a Maker's Mark with Ginger Beer, and I ordered a New Zealand sauvignon blanc--you can never go wrong with a New Zealand white ;) My boyfriend said his drink was pretty weak, unfortunately, but the nice waitress took it back to the bartender who added a but more to it. I ordered a Miner's Salad, and subbed out the blue cheese for the goat feta cheese. I also subbed out the blue cheese dressing for a balsamic dressing instead. I'm not a fan of blue cheese, and it seems like this salad highlighted that. The substitution was great though! The beef tenderloins were cooked perfectly and they didn't skimp on the meat either! I loved how they topped the salad with fries. It was a great balance of carbs and protein! The service was a tad slow, but I think it was simply because they were busy and maybe short-staffed? This is my favorite place in all of Golden. I'm there at least once a week. Lucas the bar manager and Travis keep the indoor bar lively. I absolutely love the Margherita flatbread on the happy hour menu. Lots of fresh mozzarella and a drizzle of balsamic. The cod fish and chips are the best fish fry this former Wisconsin girl has found. The outdoor Patio and bar have the best view in all of Golden. You can see people tubing down the creek and people walking their dogs along the creek path. The patio is dog friendly. Seth at the patio bar is a hoot and I always ask for Breezy the server. There is plenty of indoor seating. It seems like the place to be for girls night out and family gatherings. I saw a bridal shower on the outdoor event space along the creek walk. Really pretty out on the patio, the trail is right there so you can pop on for a stroll before or after a meal. The patio is spacious and well shaded. We took a drive through the mountains today and ended up in one of our favorite towns, Golden. Several years ago we ate at the BWG and wanted to go back to have lunch by the water. Unfortunately the tables outside were all full but we were able to get a table inside. The decor is very nice and a part of the beautiful Golden Hotel. The service overall was good, albeit a bit slow for us to get our server to attend to us at first. I ordered the carnitas tacos with a salad. The salad was very fresh. The carnitas were just so-so. They were a little bland. My husband ordered an omelet. The omelet was overdone and the english muffin was not toasted. One bad note about the service was that a busser was moving a high chair and went behind my husbands chair but couldn't get though and actually bumped him multiple times. He even moved his chair and she kept bumping him to make way to get through when she could have easily just gone around the other way. We went to Bridgewater Grill for Breakfast. It's located in the Golden Hotel. It's a nice establishment and right in the heart of Golden. I ordered the Golden Eggs Benedict and also tried the Salmon Avocado Toast. I'm a big fan of egg's Benedict but this Benedict lacked the flavor I hoped for. I had trouble distinguishing the ingredients. The eggs were topped on the pork belly and chive potato rosti. The chive potato rosti was basically a hash brown but didn't add much to the dish besides a little crunch. The hollandaise sauce was bland. The pork belly added a little flavor to the dish but overall I wouldn't order this dish again. The salmon avocado toast was covered in a lot of greens and just by looking at it you couldn't tell there was avocado, salmon or toast underneath. The avocado was almost more like a spread and there was very little of it on the toast. My friend ordered only an English muffin and her husband ordered toast with his breakfast. Both the toast and the English muffin came out about 5 minutes after all the other food was brought to the table and we had to ask for it twice. The waiter did apologize and said the kitchen was overwhelmed but the place was not busy. read more

The location is pretty cool The rest of our experience was bad, even for a hotel restaurant. The service and food were lousy. They were out of two of the four appetizers and several of the entrees. Our waitress brought entrees less than two minutes after serving soups and salads. My burger was bland and over-cooked. Our waitress apologized to two people in our party after realizing she forgot their drinks, but not until she brought the check and dinner was over. There are too many other good restaurants in the area to go back to Bridgewater Grille. read more

The staff were friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was nice. The lights were dimmed without it being too dark. Our waitress, Breezy, was an absolute ray of sunshine! She was friendly, smiling, knowledgeable, and did not make us feel pressured. The food was incredible and the portions were huge! For starters, I had the green chili and my husband had the spinach salad. I understand why it has won awards! Delicious! For our main course, I ordered the bison and my husband had the steak diane. First I must say the BWG has been one of my favorites and may have one of Metro's nicest patio dining settings. My wife and I have visited regularly for years. However last week when visiting the BWG for a late lunch the Sevice was totally unacceptable. When ordering the steak burger, after the waitperson checked with the cook on the weight size of the burger (8 oz) i did order it done at rare, and said if it cannot be done as ordered I did not want the burger. The burger arrived as two 4oz patties prepared well done. The waiter said he also thought it was to be a single 8oz burger prepared rare. I returned the order. Every other meal I've had at BWG has been excellent and orders prepared as directed. I cannot understand how the cook could not understand the difference of a well done burger and a rare one. The menu should identify that it is double patty burger which can only be prepared well done. read more

Came back a couple of weeks ago for a late Saturday lunch, and I ordered the the Salmon BLTA again because I had liked it so much. Still one of the very best sandwiches I've ever had. A pretty good selection of beer on draw, but all Coors products, which you'd expect here - I had Blue Moon. Partner tried a big breakfast dish, which they serve well into the afternoon, and liked it. Server was friendly, always a hit with us. There are a lot of good places to eat in and around Golden, but this is the best one we've found so far. read more

Came here with my mother on a Sunday with my mother. They had all the tables very spaced out for Covid. It was so spaced out I there are only 4-5 tables and bar seating. The bartender is also the server as well. He was moving pretty fast so the service wasn't exceptional but he was nice and checked on us frequently. We had the trout dip that was very good with pita bread. I had the brussel sprout salad that was huge with the brown butter dressing. The salad was very good I might go fo a different dressing next time because the fat from the brussels needed a little acidity. Overall it was very tasty and I would get it again! My mother had the lemon chicken dish and was a good portion and she really enjoyed it. They also have the game on if you come when football is playing. On my last night in Golden and my last night at the Golden Hotel, I got together with a group from my business meeting and The Colorado School of Mines. Many of the restaurants in town were either booked or could not accommodate our group. One of our group suggested we just eat in the hotel at the Bridgewater Grill. I had stopped at the Bridgewater earlier in the day on my way for a walk on the Clear Creek Trail and had a chance to look at the menu. A combination of classics with an infusion of locally grown foods had made the restaurant appealing to me. I was lucky as the group was hungry after a long day of meetings an a tour of the school. Our group sat down and we ordered some local craft beers and some Coors beers as well as a few bottles of wine. The ambiance was just great as it followed the theme of the hotel, but with a modern twist to the decor and furniture. The restaurant was able to seat a group of just over 20 comfortably. You can access the Bridgewater Grill from the main entrance, the parking lot entrance and right off Clear Creek and during warmer months they have patio seating outside. First up, we ordered some apps for the group to share. Only three apps made it to our side of the table but we make do with what we had. My first taste was the House-Made Hummus Duet consisting of roasted garlic and lemon beet hummus served with farm vegetables and toasted pita. A light and refreshing starter, oozing with flavour and not overly garlicky. The next plate to make its way to me was the Loaded Skins, locally grown potato skins heaped with bacon, scallions, a divine smoked cheddar cheese sauce, drizzled with roasted poblano crema. Think about that for a second, yes it's as good as it sounds. Although ravaged by the time it reached me our third shared app was the delicious Crispy Brussels Sprouts with Pork Belly, topped with balsamic reduction, goat milk feta, dried cranberries and oranges, a most delectable dish. I ordered a cup of the famous Rosa's Award-Winning Pork Green Chili, which was spiced just right, with a bit of kick but not a dish that will make your clothes stick to you. Finally, my main course came out, and let me tell this was a work of art, the Bacon-Wrapped Colorado Bison Meatloaf served with garlic mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, tomato bacon jam, and a demi-glaze. Wow, just wow as I tore into those moist juicy and tender slices of meatloaf, the bacon gave the dish just enough smoky and saltiness to add to the experience. This dish was on point. Our overall experience was great, the service was phenomenal, the food was timed perfectly and no one waited longer than expected for their meals, even though we had ordered more apps after the first plates were dropped. That's a good sign that they know what they are doing. I did not get a chance to do a more thorough review as I was eating, and hanging with my peeps. I eat and travel all over North America, I do hope I get a chance to eat here again. If you're ever in Golden Colorado check out The Bridgewater Grill, you won't be disappointed. read more
