Really nice brunch options. My favorite is the Waldorf Chicken Salad. It comes with a warm banana nut muffin and fruit. At peak times the service is a bit slow but by no means unacceptable. It's best for small groups. Everything tastes freshly made, not fast foody at all. And they have real brewed iced tea, which is a requirement for me! The only thing I don't like is when you finish eating you have to get in line up front to pay, which gets messy because it's the same line for people waiting to be seated. The past two times I've been I had a salad and a burger, respectively. The salad was pretty good, but I wasn't fond of the dressing. As for the burger, it was overcooked and a little bland. Maybe their breakfasts are better... As for the service, the server was friendly and accommodating, but very slow. It was during lunch, so I certainly understand that the place was busy. Regardless, everything took entirely too long to arrive, and our drinks sat empty for about half our meal. My friends and I regularly eat at Briggs (all locations) so we are frequent customers and today you guys lost some business. We left your establish due to the RUDE HOSTESS AT THE DOOR. She was a short older African American lady with short hair and glasses and way too much attitude. I know the restaurant can get busy on the weekends but the way she held herself was completely uncalled for. Not only did she yell rudely to us but to the others waiting patiently for their party to arrive. She was unprofessional and rude, I hope she is not trained that way or allowed to act that way to PAYING CUSTOMERS. Came here for brunch on a Sunday morning and waited about 40 minutes for 2 people. Our waitress greeted us right away and helped us make decisions when ordering. I ordered the Florentine Benedict and shocked when it came out. The portion was massive! It came with a side of fruit and my choice of homestyle fries. She was able to supply the side order of a 'ton of bacon' my nephew asked for. And it was good bacon, if somewhat limp. The other good food: French toast, blueberry pancakes (covered with a nice blueberry compote), and a portion of the shrimp and grits (the spice - though mild - was quite good.) The fruit was fresh. The eggs Benedict we ordered faired worse. The Brigs was just okay, while the oscar was an under flavored letdown. The coffee? Bland. Now for the ugly. The grits. An overcooked mush. My sister took one bite of hers and called it a day (which it was - still morning.) I'm an omnivore, so overlooked the grits to enjoy the shrimp et.al. Will I go back? Probably not. Briggs is my local (or closest) breakfast place, and I've enjoyed going there for years. The food is reliably solid. The Benedicts and Skillet offerings are pretty diverse, and usually quite good. Portions and pricing are reasonable, and the coffee is okay. My only real issue is with the home fries, and I think that's just a "difference of opinion" in how to cook/serve them. The fruit can be a little hit or miss, but that's true for what you find in the grocery stores too. Service has usually been pretty good; attentive and typically friendly. The place can get quite busy, so if you're going during peak hours, expect to wait. Can't speak to the takeout quality - I don't usually even try breakfast takeout, because I wouldn't expect most breakfast items to hold up well as takeout. read more

When we arrived we waited a few minutes until we were noticed. That was the only negative we had during our visit. We visited at 11:00 am and it was about 40% full. We were seated and out waitress came over to greet us and made a joke as we were on our way to the beach. The menu has a great variety of food, with a big selection of eggs Benedict as well as some sandwiches. We went with the eggs with bacon home fries and toast and a waffle with eggs and fries. The food was cooked very well and brought to us quickly. The large orange juice was fulfilling and it was great as they had a huge pot of coffee with refills!! Hate to post a negative review of a neighborhood business, but it was the pits. All the blame should go to the waiter Nicholas, who looked hungover and the least bit interested. Slammed the coffee pot with our 2 cups on the counter and left. No cream offered, nor any utensils. Got them after about 10 mins. Food took forever (simple order) ... home fries served cold, and my wife's pancakes arrived about 10 min after my food. And butter took another 10 mins. Mentioned to mgmt., and was told he was going to be let go soon. That didn't help us - why saddle us with his incompetency? $2 taken off our bill - ridiculous. Do better people! read more

The first time I went, I remember the place being good, but couldn't remember specifics. This time I was very impressed. This was my second time visiting this place (10/19) and it was a 30 minute wait. Since I had to get on the road, I didn't have the time. After trying another place, we called and asked if they offered take-out and they did. I was impressed for two reasons. 1 - the food is delicious and 2- the take out held up. I'm not a fan of cold or lukewarm breakfast food, but I was hungry so I was willing to eat it. Their take out was still good even when it was lukewarm. I'd like to give more stars because the food is good. The service is normally good, I just came here yesterday for a business meeting. But today that was different. The service my family and I received at the front door was ridiculous. We came in this morning around 11:30 and asked for a table for two adults and a child. I was given a buzzer and told that it would buzz when it was ready, I asked how long and was told 20 minutes give or take, so I took the buzzer to the car since we have a two year old and there's no seating outside to wait. I'm not waiting outside in the cold for 20 minutes with my two year old. Upon waiting in the car (which was not far away from the entrance) we noticed it never buzzed, thinking we might not be able to get the signal from the car, we came inside to the same woman looking at me with a confused look on her face, "can I help you?" She says, I told her we've been waiting with our pager but nothing had buzzed. She said, with an attitude that they had ringed us around 11:40, and even stood outside and "yelled" for our party. Not sure if this is true or not but either way we did not hear them. We we're extremely polite to her about the misunderstanding and both of the hosts at the front desk seemed annoyed & disrespectful throughout the whole ordeal. My mistake for thinking the buzzer signal could reach my car... sure. But the way this woman treated my family with sheer disrespect and attitude? I'll never come here again. read more

Brigg's at the Park is always a great dining experience. Its a very busy restaurant so pack your patience - seating on a busy day is about 30 minutes, sometimes quicker. I really love the French Toast and Crab Benedict. But we, as a group, often just get a bunch of entrees and share - everything looks and taste so good here. Service is as good as it gets. The wait staff is all so friendly, knowledgeable and ready to serve. PLEASE TIP THEM more than two bucks *sorry I noticed a tip that was left at my table when I arrived* There is ample parking in this shopping center plus a Starbuck nearby...if you have a lengthy wait grab a drink and come on back. read more

Came here for breakfast with the family and the place was crowded. We waited about 30mins to be seated. The waitress was semi friendly she just appeared to be very rushed. Which I understand because it was very crowded. She took our order right away. We noticed a few of us had food left on silverware so I asked for new silverware since ours was dirty. I ordered hot tea and the cup came out with lipstick stain on it. So naturally I'm getting nervous about his sanitary this place is. I said a prayer before I ate my food and it was very delicious. I was not even half way done before I had to quit. Those are monster pancakes with a thick bordering of whipped cream and maple syrup. Yes, it was heavenly but way too much food to tackle. 6/22/2021. A not so good experience, A group of 4 went for lunch today at the Briggs restaurant in Durham. One person in our party ordered a bacon cheeseburger . When the burger came we noticed that the bun was much larger than the burger. We pointed that out to the waitress who agreed and offered to replace the burger. However she promptly returned and told us that the manager said that was because the franchise owner order the wrong size bun. A poor response indeed. Visiting a good friend of mine and decided to try this place. They were busy and they told us we had a wait of 30 minutes, we got our buzzer and waited. almost an hour passes by and we go up to the hostess to ask where we were on the list, we come to find out she never put our name on the list. Which would've been an understandable mistake had it not been how she chose to respond to my friend. She was beyond rude and told us she would buzz us in within 15 minutes but never took our name down. We went back to ask if she knew our name and she was even worse by saying "if I told you I'd buzz you in, I wrote your name down". That was the last straw, we at no point in time we're belligerent, rude or gave her any reason to be that way. We had combos, one with French toast and one with blueberry pancakes Combos come with eggs and one side and the choices are immense. Servers leave the coffee pot in the table and service is quick. While the food was good, the customer service was not. I placed a take out order over the phone and was told it would be 20 minutes. It was a Saturday morning so I waited a little more than 35 minutes to come in just in case they were busy and since so many restaurants are short staffed right now. When I arrived, to my surprise my order hadn't even been started. I stated my name and wasn't told what was going on. I had to ask for an update and was told that something happened and they were making my order "stat." Ok. Mistakes happen, although it was rather inconvenient. It would've been nice if a manager came and apologized, offered a beverage, discount or something as I waited another 15 minutes with a fussy toddler. Nope. Nothing. If I was able to cancel the order I would've but the rest of the family were waiting on me to arrive with food so I didn't. Stopped in for brunch while in town for a visit. They were busy but we were seated very quickly. It took a bit more time to be waited on but not too bad. We started with an Almond Nutmuff for the table. It was tasty. As their monthly theme was everything peachy, I got the Peach Avocado Toast but without feta. When they brought it it had feta. I mentioned this to the waiter and he had them make another with no feta. It was good but nothing I would order again. My companions had the western omelet which was pronounced delicious, the Georgia hotcake which was not delicious and the BLT which was good but a bit too generous with mayo. Brigs is a local upscale coffee-shop/diner chain that is only open for breakfast and lunch. We met friends at the location known as "Brigs at the Park" south of the NC 50 exit from Interstate 40 at the south end of Durham, near the Research Triangle Park. This one is located at the north end of a small strip mall with plenty of parking. On Sunday, this Brigs was so crowded the management had to issue beepers to waiting patrons -- at around 10:30 a.m., we waited a good 45 minutes to be seated. Inside, the atmosphere was noisy but the wait staff was courteous and informative. I ordered the pecan pancakes; only two were a meal as they literally covered the dinner plates. My dining companions had "the works" omelet with sausage, ham, bacon, mushroom, bell peppers, caramelized onions and cheddar jack cheese; the other had a vegetable-and-cheese based skillet called "The Duke." Service was smooth, prices reasonable, and everyone enjoyed their meals. The coffee, as one would expect in such a place, was excellent. The following day (Monday) we returned at 9:00 a.m. There was no wait. One of our group had the Smokehouse omelet with hickory-smoked brisket, caramelized onions, bell pepper and provolone, while the other tried the avocado toast (okay, the place gets a little trendy but the basics are solid). I tried the shrimp & grits and was a little disappointed, finding it colorful but bland and processed, with much smaller shrimp than I had hoped for. On the whole, though, we were quite pleased with Brigs and would be happy to return there on a future trip. read more

The atmosphere feels like a cozy, neighborhood diner and the extensive menu covers all the classic brunch staples. It's popular, but even at peak timing of Sunday at 11:30am our wait was only about 30 minutes. The prices are reasonable and portion sizes are huge, so certainly a good value compared to trendier brunch places in downtown Durham. My husband and I split a western omelette and a stack of 3 fluffy, buttermilk pancakes. The portion sizes are very generous - each pancake was about 12" in diameter, we probably could have gotten by with just 1 or 2! read more

I enjoy the fact that they offer turkey sausage, have the ability to cook my eggs as requested, and the service can get you in and out in no time.
