I randomly yelped iced coffee last night around 6& I'm so glad I did because I had the pleasure of running into this place. Omggggg it is the cutest little hidden spot. A serious diamond in the rough. It was of course empty on a cold Wednesday evening and I walked in to a heavenly smell of coffee. The woman who I'm assuming was the owner or the main baker approached me and told me all about the pastries. Literally each and everyone. I was so excited, I wanted to try everything! Firstly, I ordered a vanilla soy latte, omg it was so perfect. Not too sweet and I could definitely taste the fresh brew. I also got a creme brûlée, a strawberry cake& a slice of the carrot. I swear I was planning on sharing but I ate everything myself. It was heavenly, decadent& not overwhelmingly sweet. I was really impressed with the taste but what I was the MOST impressed with was the prices! I got 3 desserts& a large iced coffee for $10! What?! I will be back! read more

Wow literally the best red velvet cake I've ever had! I love that they sell it by the slice and they also have a variety of cupcakes. The customer service is 10/10, super nice staff. Tried the French ice coffee and it was good . The pastures look delicious but I'm on a diet right now haha . I would recommend it if you want some good coffee and some good looking pastries read more

I enjoyed their pastries but the service wasn't great. It wasn't rude but I could tell that the guy didn't want to help us. We walked in to this bakery and saw beautiful pastries. I asked for recommendation so I asked the guy what were their specialties. The guy answered me in one word "everything". We ordered chocolate & pistachio macarons and chocolate hazelnut torte. Chocolate and pistachio macarons: small but cheap for $1.15. Both of them had great flavors. The shell was harder and the filling was runnier than typical macarons, but I really like how intense the flavors were-especially the dark chocolate. Chocolate hazelnut torte $2.75: it wasn't bad but the flavor wasn't intense enough and I got tired eating it after few bites. I wanted to get other stuff (cupcakes, cookies and bread pudding) but I was turned off by the not so friendly service. Maybe he was the chef and he wasn't used to helping the customers. Maybe he was offended because I took a lot of pictures. Don't worry people won't copy your design. You display "People love us on yelp" sticker so you'll find yelpers come to your place and take pictures. You have to love yelpers to if you want yelpers to love you back!! Cheap bakery with a lot of potential. One of the best bakeries in the area. Free wifi. 3.5 stars!! Not a fan because of the attitude. Brioche Pastries is kinda yummylicious!! read more

Brioche is well deserving of a 5 Star rating. There is nothing of the calibre available within a rough 6-10 mile radius. Montebello natives unfamiliar with Brioche will primarily conjure the thought Amy's as 'the' Pastry/Bakery to go to in the area. One would hope that people will venture beyond their comfort zone and try this new Pâtisserie. It's rather great for those of us who work or reside in the Montebello area craving a sort of taste you would expect from a Westside pastry shop...and the coffee and espresso is surprising good! The location can be overlooked or difficult to find the first time. Parking is curb side. I have not once had difficulty finding a parking spot. Brioche is a treasured hole-in-the-wall in every sense as there are only a few black glass cafe tables accompanied by a pair of steel shaded chairs at each table. They have a refrigerated display to complement the glass counter display housing room temperature safe goodies. I've managed to try the Red Velvet Cupcake, Opera, Carrot Cake, Lemon Tart, Fruit Tart, Mini Eclair, Croissant, all three Cookies (Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Raisin, & Peanut Butter), Bûche de Noël, French Roast Drip, & Nonfat Caffe Latte...all of which are wonderful. The staff is extremely friendly, hospitable and willing to engage in deep conversation that bonds customer with the proprietors. It is easy to lose track of time as you can find yourself talking with them for over an hour! Prices are outstanding when you consider the quality of product you are receiving. If Brioche were located on the Westside, one would easily spend up to twice much for these goods. This is coming from a person who has no problem driving out to La Brea & Beverly just for a slice of $6.50 Red Velvet Cake or $5.00 for a thinly sliced piece of Blue Velvet Cake on La Brea & Poinsettia (you WeHo peeps know where I'm talking about). Finally, about the coffee and espresso drinks...they are really good. Don't let some troll dissuade you. I was a long time Starbucks patron. I was going to Starbucks up to three times daily, consuming up to 16 shots of espresso a day. I do miss the rapport I had with Louie, Ashley, Martha, Eva et al. Ashley would tell Martha every morning, 'look whose here...ROLAND!' and then Martha would bust out with a song for me. To all you haters...YES, I'M THAT SPECIAL! But nowadays, I prefer to drive to Downtown for my organic coffee and teas to chill at Urth where I, THE DUKE, am treated like royalty by my friends Jun, Marie, Ron, Benny, Byron, et al...but I digress! Yes, Brioche whips up a pretty darn good cup of Joe, perhaps the best in the vicinity. I say this as I sip back on my Nonfat Latte from Brioche. Do yourself a favor and give this cutesy little patisserie a chance. You, yourself will have discovered one of Montebello's hidden gems! read more

Reasonably priced and expertly crafted pastries. I got a bunch of sweets for around $10 and each were delicious. It really had the craftsmanship of a good pastry chef and the presentation was top notch. You really wouldn't expect a pastry of this caliber in Montebello of all places but I really liked all their variety. Really there is a pastry for each palette. I hear this place is now closed which is a real shame because it was a small operation churning out great treats. They even had a free macaron upon check-in. Hope they make a comeback somewhere soon. read more

Definitely helps improve Montebello's appearance. If only it were three times bigger. GREAT coffee and baked goods. Honestly the best I've had so far. I tried the Opera cake, Tiramisu, Brioche (of course), and their iced coffee; all were the best I've ever tasted. Nice looking French bakery. The owner bakes everything himself. Much better than Coffee Bean or Starbucks. I'd be much happier if there were a chain of Brioche stores. read more

Are you tired of seeking a café with freshly baked goods, pastries to die for, wonderful tasting coffee that not is not masked by high fructose corn syrup and drowned in whipped cream? Along with searching for a calm atmosphere (since Starbucks has quite a ruckus with all the blenders of the frappucinos O.o' )? Well friends, search no further! At last, I have found a place where I can comfortably drink my soy latte while eating a buttery and flaky chocolate croissant that I know has been baked fresh that day, yes my friends FRESH, and still be able to take care of business by using their free wi-fi :D! Everyday Brioche seems to offer something special. A few days ago the chef special was a raspberry tart garnished with orange zest on a chocolate tart shell. Talk about fancy ;)! It seems, however, that a lot of people come here for the Red Velvet cupcakes...okay? Okay, let me break it down for everyone: Sure, the Red Velvet cupcakes are very delicious from Brioche because they are freshly made and don't have a funky industry tasting cream cheese frosting; yet, what about the other pastries? I believe everybody should check out what Brioche is here to really offer, aside the Red Velvet cupcakes. What is that? TRUE pastries within the Montebello area ;). Or at least live on the edge and try the chocolate or vanilla cupcakes. Yes, they are quite tasty too. Along with being very clean, having a European feeling, and having such a wonderful display of pastries and baked goods, the customer service is excellent! The two lovely ladies who have helped me in the front have been very genuine,patient and do care about your cafe experience. Oh, if you are lucky, you can even have a chat with the pastry chef/owner :D. I always have to come here at least twice a week to check out what is new on the menu. Since Brioche is still new and growing and trying to grasp the groove of this town, one can be sure that it will become a favorite for many. Sorry Starbucks and The Daily Brew (which buys their products instead of making them O.o), I have found a better place here at Brioche. Oh! Don't forget to buy some BRIOCHE bread ;). What a quaint little pastry shop...in a non-quaint place. This is a cute little place that I hope to stop by in the mornings before work. The pastries are hand made and there are plenty of sweet options to satisfy. I tried the macaroons, which were good, but not the best I've had. But if I'm being honest, they are the best I've had within 10 miles of Montebello. My friend had the mini lemon tart and it was great. I hope the high school crowd discovers this place and that they will be exposed to what real, hand-made pastries taste like. In the meantime, anyone in the Montebello area should give it a shot. read more

I've found what I believe to be the best little Bakery in Montebello, and perhaps the bakery in the entire area. My opinion hands down the most friendly and accommodating couple to ever run a bakery. As to the taste, texture and flavors I put their baked goods to any other bakery. It's a quint little bakery set near the corner of Whittier Blvd (north side) and Vail (west side) and at first you might drive pass the bakery but it's worth the effort to find the bakery. I'm planning on making the majority of my baked goods at Brioche. read more

They Could not accommodate or tried or didnt want to.I drove over to get an estimate on a custom cake. First employee turned me away and told me to email the shop. Didn't understand why he couldn't help me or give me more info when im physically in the shop trying to give this small business money. I asked more questions he didn't know any answers so he called who I think was the owner. She came out. Ask all the questions to end up NOT accommodating me bc it was a week too close to Easter to try to make one cake for me. I wasn't trying to do an extravagant cake. The fact she didn't try is definitely a sign they did know know how to deal with customers. Give your business somewhere else. You're in Montebello. Get off your high horse. read more

Brioche is a very special place for me... For the last four years, I've been on a quest to find the perfect slider bun...and I've finally found it here at Brioche. After many visits to different bakeries and markets, no one could find or produce what I wanted: a smaller, slider BRIOCHE bun. The beautiful-buttery-buns here are simply amazing...easily one of the best in the LA/OC area. The cost is $.75/bun and if you're passionate about food, it's well worth it. I called and the owner said he would need a few days notice. When I picked them up, he said they were baked just a few hours ago. I opened the box and knew right away just by looking/smelling at these buttery babies that I had finally hit the jackpot. read more

OMGaaaawd! macaroon heaven who knew that such deliciousness could be packed in one ity bity bite nobody's macaroons can compare to brioche i am hooked. My personal favorite flavors in this Oder;) Boysenberry (purple ones) Raspberry (pink) Pistachio (green) Blueberry (blue) If you have never tried a french macaron please get to brioche now you will not regret it. I finally came back after many years because I happened to move to the neighborhood. I was disappointed with the selection. They didn't even have any macarons and I literally came just for that. I didn't want to be rude so I bought cake. It was decadent as hell. Idk how I feel about this place. There's nothing that makes me want to go back. read more

The funny thing is I liked the samples they gave out a lot more than the tiramisu and macaroons we bought. The samples I had were the opera cake, chocolate cake, and brownie. Very moist and not overly sweet! Still not amazing enough for me to drive my way out to get them here though. The tiramisu was very mediocre. It was too bland in taste for a dessert! Where were the lady fingers? It was a block of cream almost. The macaroons were just a complete waste of money. We got 6 different flavors since they were cheap. Big mistake- should've got one and tried it first. They were all overwhelming sweet and very artificially flavored! Yes prices are relatively cheap here, but there's a reason. read more

Found this spot through yelp while in the neighborhood. Really small cute clean place, with tasty sweets. Raspberry cheesecake was delicious, I only ordered one but maaaaan I can eat like 3, but I savored every bite sharing it with my bf who doesn't really have a sweet tooth but enjoyed every bite of it. Fruit tart, definitely recommend. fresh fruits on top, and that crust!! the custard was really good rich and slightly creamy. Not a big fan of the red velvet cake, was kind of bland. Macaroons were good, but a little too sweet for me. I wish the macaroons on display had signs for the flavors because I felt like a burden asking the man to repeat the flavors for me. They ran out of regular brew but the man offered me an upgrade to an americano for the same price. Good spot, tasty treats for a good price, parking on the street and clean atmosphere. Just because you don't see it doesn't mean they don't have it. I asked if they had any french macarons and the owner said "yes". If you know me and macarons, you know that "yes" made my day. They looked so delicious I forgot to ask the macarons if they wanted to take a quick picture. Brioche has the texture and flavor down perfect, not to mention the almond flecks throughout the macaron. We love those special surprises. read more

Wow first time visiting this place and wasn't sure what to expect. It's a great location, looks like a very affluent and expensive shop but everything was priced right. And everything we had was delicious, the carrot cake, velvet cake and a box of cheesecakes!!! Everything so delicious. Friendly staff and plenty of street parking. Although I usually stop in for their macaroons and small pastries (which I also love) this review is for a custom cake. I ordered a 10" round cake with white cake and raspberry and ganache filling. It tasted amazing! The presentation is also important and it looked beautifully simple, with a garnish of raspberries on the top with white icing lettering. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to order a custom cake for a special occasion. read more

I really like this bakery and always try to recommend it everyone I know, but only wish that the owner/cashier would work on their service. The service here can be very slow at times and can have you waiting for up to 5 minutes for a slice of cake. Came in last week and ordered 2 slices of cake and had to wait for the cashier to setup a display of cake slices before serving and charging me. Great bakery with delicious well priced pastries that just needs to improve their speed read more

My cousin came here for a cake tasting to prepare for another cousins big 40th bday and this place was the winner She got the 10in i think? of the Red Velvet !!! it was one of my favorite red velvets i've had!! had to take home a few slices after the bday....but the set back is that i'm not as young anymore =( the amount of butter they use to compose this bad boy really takes a toll on your body...no joke either, u'll feel it if you eat a few slices... prob shoulda just taken small slivers!!! also, i came here to try a few individual small things but nothing seem very moist or impressive...stick to ordering the full cakes for events/parties read more

The selection was super limited when I came by the place. It was a Saturday in the middle of the day...2pm or so. I was hoping to see some carrot cake, bread pudding or some eclairs but there were a few cookies, some tiramisu and some random stuff. I actually stopped here because the bread pudding came up in a YELP search and of course there was none. I decided to pass on the treats altogether, but the kids gave the stuff a try. They liked the brownie and the cookie they had but neither was great. Wifey only takes decaf so most places never carry a decaf drip and we always order decaf lattes... no such thing here. Overall the place was too warm, the AC was barely working, the selection was lacking and the flavors for the two things we did try did not make much of an impact. I'm going to have to put this on the one and done pile. The guy behind the counter was the baker also so he said he was working on more things but it would be 20-30 minutes before they were ready. I appreciate the effort but it was definitely too little, too late. I'll just chill, til the next episode... read more

I don't even know where to start. I just received the best customer service ever! Vanessa and Gabriel were so down to earth. I truly appreciate everything that they did for me. I went all around town trying to find a graduation cake, but no Bakery had one available. I finally stumbled across this cute little bakery on yelp and decided to give it a try. I was devastated as I was looking at the selection since they were about to close in 15 minutes and only had pastries left. I was just going to grab a few to celebrate, but Vanessa knew there was something wrong with my face and went above and beyond and told me she could bake me a cake, even though it was going to be pass store closing hours. She really cared when she could have easily refused to bake my cake. I've never had such amazing customer experience like this, I was speechless! I'm going to definitely come back and send recommendations to all friends and family to support their small local business! I am a fan of this place! It's like a gem in this area.. I loved the red velvet cupcake! It was soft and moist and the cream cheese frosting was yummy! And I think they were $1.75 And the macaroons (chocolate & pistachio) were AMAZING! The filling was soft and smooth.. and the outside was perfection. I think it was about $1.25 each! CHEAP! Cute little shop on a big road that it may be hard to find parking sometimes. They have adorable little cakes & other adorable desserts. I was able to get my hands on their coconut cake (super moist & coconuty), fruit tart (little too sweet but not bad, had a crumbly yet flakey texture), & the tres leches (def. my fav). All 3 of these guilty pleasures costed only about $11 so rather good prices they have here! read more

I LOVE BRIOCHE! on my day off i decided to drive here to try some of their bread/pastries because their yelp has been tempting me for awhile now! i live in whittier so this is DEFINITELY the best and closest place around! i got a chocolate croissant, mini eclair, brownie and piece of tiramisu & drink for $9! the croissant was so boooooomb! as well for all the others but it was my favorite! sad i didn't get to try a macaroon but they were sold out :[ oh and the chef's sister was super nice, she made me a yummy tea latte and answered all my random questions! definitely coming back here soon :D read more

My husband stopped here after work to pick up some desserts for dinner. I'm assuming he couldn't make up his mind because he came home with a variety of different cake slices. Anywaaaay - I tried the trio tostadas, a tamal and a Mayan iced latte. The tostadas were great. They were very fresh. They're very simple. One is black bean, one is avacado and one is chicken salad. My favorite was the chicken salad. I used their green salsa and it was delicious. The tamales was good. Today I learned I don't really like the flavor of banana leaf that gets absorbed into the tamal. Also, it was primarily made of rice. It had a piece of bell pepper, a little chicken and I think a plum. Aside from the banana leaf I liked the tamale. The latte was delicious. Nice coffee flavor and sweetened perfectly. Definite recommend and I will for sure be back.

That's when we noticed the coffee bar. Service was friendly and they do have a good selection to choose from. I stopped on a Friday morning for fuel (coffee) before running errands, and went with the strawberry horchata cold foam. I was pleasantly surprised. It was perfect and not overly sweet. I also got a pistachio crescent, warm, and was delicious. I stopped by the following morning, and went with the pumpkin spice chai latte, which was perfect! And pistachio crescent to share with my son, which he ended up taking, despite him not having a sweet tooth for baked goodies like I do. Highly recommend this little spot!!

That and the drive-thru window is on the passenger side, so if you're flying solo it might be a slight hassle. Other than that, Tierra Mia is one of the better pick-me-ups you can find. I explained that I wanted no extra milk and that I expected a cup full of ice, to which she argued with me in every possible direction, even insinuating that she was going to have to "re-train" the barista who rang me up. I asked her if she would feel satisfied with me paying for the "extra" milk as long as the cup isn't filled to the top and she just goes "Oh if you don't want extra milk then you don't have to pay for it." and from there I just agreed with everything she said. I was too dizzy to stand my own ground at that point. Completely unnecessary. Prime example of someone riding a power trip.

When I went to use the membership for the first time, I arrived with my two sons after checking the business hours on Facebook and Instagram. When we got there, a man was doing maintenance on the playground and told us it would be about an hour before we could enter. My son, who has autism, was understandably upset, so I took him next door to the pet store to help distract him while we waited. After an hour, we returned--only to be told it would be another 30 minutes. At that point, I asked if my sons' memberships were active through Regional Center. The employee flipped through a notebook and couldn't even locate one of my son's memberships. We left because my son's patience was gone, which is directly related to his autism. This entire experience left a very sour taste. If a business offers social recreation services through Regional Center, accurate hours and organized membership records are essential. What's even more upsetting is that I later discovered Regional Center was charged for six months of membership, even though we never attended or used the membership at all. I never signed a contract agreeing to ongoing charges. I also received a text stating the membership would not be active if we didn't attend--yet they still billed Regional Center. Also, never extended services. Between the inaccurate hours, lack of accommodation, disorganization, and billing issues, I would not recommend this business to Regional Center families.
