It's a marvelous venue for special occasions, brunches, and dinners. AMBIANCE (5/5) Nestled in 16 acres of vineyards and gardens in Yountville, Brix offers a beautiful setting for every occasion. It has a picturesque dining room and multiple indoor and outdoor spaces for events. Our friend's wedding ceremony and cocktail hour were held outdoors. The ceremony was sooo special and soooo..HOT. The ceremony site doesn't offer any shade. Even with diligent use of cute party favor fans, we were all sweltering in the 90+ degree fall afternoon. Whew! Luckily, the cocktail hour area featured shaded tables. Once day slipped into evening, the outdoor vineyard where we had dinner became a magical place: three elegant long tables set amidst the vines and surrounded by twinkling fairy lights. Gorgeous! FOOD (5/5) So I'm still dreaming of Brix's tempura green beans. Light and crunchy on the outside, melty-savory-salty on the inside. I am embarrassed to share how many I may have eaten. Other passed hor d'oeuvres at cocktail hour included steak tartare crostini, delightful tarts, tiny cups of soup, and other flavor-bursting treats. Everything rocked! Dinner was a multi-course seated affair, complete with tender filet mignon and other scrumptiousness. We moved inside for dancing - loved seeing our radiant friend and her Mr. Right take their first dance as husband and wife. SERVICE (5/5) Prompt, professional, discreet, friendly! As Napa locals we love Restaurant Week as it allows us to explore high end restaurants at a fixed our reduced price and recommend those restaurants to visitors. Tonight we checked out Brix for the first time in years. The results: Meh. I get the sense that they decided to participate in Restaurant Week begrudgingly because they didn't have the Sea Bass printed on the menu, and after ordering they informed us that at 6:30 they were out of the dessert two of us had ordered. These aren't huge deals, but the response should be, "let me see what I can do for you," not "sorry, pick something else off the limited menu." The potsticker appetizer was cold and the bathroom was dirty. We had the worst table in the restaurant and had to ask for water. Again, these are minor issues, but when added together it was not a great evening. When I'm asked for recommendations I will list 25-30 Napa Valley restaurants before naming Brix. read more

Staff has done an awesome job with covid19 measures to keep their people and guests safe. Sanitizing was done constantly while we were there for a late lunch today. We mustve missed the lunch crowd with a 315pm reservation. Guests were seated at least a 6ft distance apart. And guests for the most part were compliant with mask wearing when they left their tables and needed to pass other patrons by. Food was delicious too! I finally got my wish in August this year when my girl friends and I decided to go to Napa for girls' weekend. Driving up from SF I made a quick decision to come here for lunch. We were seated very promptly after we arrived, at a table on the patio overlooking the Vinyard, just as I requested on Opentable. It is definitely one of the most beautiful outdoor setting in the wine country. The lunch we had today started out well. Drinks were served and an appetizer of tempura green beans arrived. They were very good. My daughter had knoci, my wife had the ravioli and I had the French dip. It took a very long time to get our plates. When they arrived the only thing warm was the French fries that came with my sandwich. We told our waitress and she said she would tell the kitchen. Hmmm. For my entree, I ordered the Kelleher Braised Short Rib. This dish was so delicious and innovative. The polenta it was served upon was perfect. The accompanying asparagus salad was delectable. For dessert we had the rhubarb cobbler and it was excellent. The drinks made at Brix were satisfying albeit small in volume. The atmosphere at Brix is sophisticated and classy. The vineyards and gardens surrounding the restaurant make for good views while dining. The volume of the restaurant is low and makes for good conversation. The service was professional although at times a bit inattentive. Overall Brix is great restaurant, it's cuisine is sophisticated and authentically Californian. Brix is one of the most beautiful restaurants I've ever been to. The restaurant is surrounded by a vineyard and you can walk a beautiful garden area out back. Prices are reasonable for such a nice restaurant. The food was very good as well. My only complaint is that while the service was very good, it was also very slow. We had a great dining experience at Brix on a hot sunny early evening. To summarize in a few short words: fresh, hearty, flavorful. The main dining room has a very modern yet cozy feel. The seats by the windows give you a great view to the back garden. There are also seats outside in the patio, as well as a private dining room for a big group. Either way, you will enjoy your dinner while looking at a beautiful sunset over the mountains. Oysters - really fresh; great way to start the meal. Beet & bib salad - portion is on the small side, but it's not a bad thing. Whenever I go wine tasting during the day, I somehow never have too much appetite right after. The salad is light and refreshing, great way to start the meal. Braised lamb legs - this was amazing. The lamb was cooked perfectly. Slightly pink, but not to the point where you'd worry about it. The bean ragu was a great accompaniment because it was citrusy and savory. The portion was just the right size, and great for sharing. Halibut - this was really delicious as well. Being a fish dish, it's on the light side (again, a good thing). The crust on the fish added both flavor and texture. It was amazing. Carrot cake & carrot cake ice cream: I have to say dessert was my least favorite course of the meal, but that's only because the entrees left me with such a high! I love Brix. It's my favorite Napa valley restaurant. I have never felt like I was discriminated against or unwelcome. I read a previous review about that and I'm thinking that maybe that was some sort of isolated incident and not racial? Hope not. Either way. I love this place. We wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary (for the first time after 6 years) and after looking around for an affordable spot in Napa, we of course chose Brix again...just as we did for our wedding reception. The flow of traffic in the buffet line is well organized. Food are put out in small batches to keep up with its freshness. So, I'm not sure why other reviews look down at that. If you want heated up, cooked over, burnt off food from buffet chafing dishes then go to traditional-uncared-for-all-you-can-eat buffets. ‍ I did not try the omelette station just because I did not want to get too stuffed. I wanted to reserve belly space for more oysters, ceviche, mini desserts and lots of coffee and wine! I would love to see a crêpe station though. However, my kids could not get enough of the silver dollar pancakes and little French toasts. I actually loved dining with them even more because kids under 7 eat free! So very generous of a restaurant and also shows how much they welcome families. We were seated outside on the patio, where your little ones can take in fresh air and enjoy themselves in the garden...in other words, great place for antsy kids! Besides that, we over enjoyed the scenery so much that we stayed for 2.5 hours and then spent another few minutes in the vineyard taking photos. Haha! Had a wonderful brunch here with some girls during a bridal/bachelorette weekend. Initially made my reservation online on open table and just gave them a call when I needed to make changes to my reservation. Brunch was I believe about $43 per person and drinks (mimosa, peach Bellini, or Bloody Mary) were $10 each. Thought it'd be cool if they had an unlimited mimosa option, but they didn't. Restaurant itself wasn't as crowded as I thought it might be. All the food looked and tasted so delicious!! Some of my favorites were the eggs Benedict, bite size walnut pancakes, bite size French toast, ceviche, smoked salmon, and of course- OYSTERS! Yummmm. Service was on point. Food was delicious. The timing between the apps and the entrees was a joke. Once a restaurant enters a certain price point and considers itself to be "fine dinning" base line expectations such as when food walks and pacing starts,apps,entrees and drinks becomes expected. There was a draft of cold air coming in that we felt where we were sitting. So we had to keep our coats on. All in all, a great experience. A brunch buffet is a difficult thing to do right, especially in this area with so many great restaurants. I've also gone to many good breakfast/brunch buffets in hotels all over the world (that's something the US doesn't really have, sadly), so I'm extra critical of what they serve. The buffet itself was smaller than I expected, but contained a good variety of items, and the counters were in a corner that can be a bit too crowded when there is a lot of people. There were quite a few salads, some charcuterie items, a couple meaty or eggy mains and seafood items, and it should satisfy both meat eaters and vegetarians alike. Some of their items were really good. I especially enjoyed their poached eggs and various kinds of sautéed vegetables. The charcuterie was pretty standard and there are no surprises there. All-in-all, I was hoping for more variety, but the food quality was good and would please more than a few picky eaters. The pricing is a bit steep, plus I really don't like to stuff myself full to the brim (the consequences are not worth it!). It's a great place for a big gathering of friends and family for a special event though - and the wait staff is super nice! read more

Arrived here at 5:00 on a Friday for a private tasting. Grounds and vineyard are beautifully kept and manicured. The view was amazing. Our table was set up and ready as we arrived. We tried 2 whites, one Sauvignon Blanc and a Chardonnay. Then 2 Cabernet from different years. These were Kelleher Vineyards wines. The general manager was incredibly knowledgeable. The service was impeccable. We had a few cheese plates with fresh figs. Although I can't speak of the food being served from the restaurant, it looked as if this place turns out some great food to be paired with some great wines from the region. read more

If I could zero stars I would, since I never even got a reservation for the private wine and food pairing that Brix and Kelleher family vineyards has advertised on social media. I followed the steps to request a reservation. I never heard back. I then called to follow up and was told I would get a call back that day, while the person emphasized that it was $110 plus gratuity. Why would I want a reservation if I didn't know how much it cost? I didn't get a call back. So I called back. Then I get an email confirming the date so I asked for an 11:30 reservation. I didn't get a confirmation so I follow up AGAIN. They confirm my reservation via email and ask me to call with my credit card. Then I get a voicemail the same afternoon saying my reservation was not possible and asked me to call to reschedule. When I expressed my disappointment, the person told me I could go to the other 500 wineries. I will definitely be taking my business to the other 500 wineries. Thanks for the recommendation Nicole. She was so rude and condescending to my friend, that we cancelled our reservation for eight people on 4/8/23,and went to Lucy's at Bardessono instead, where we received excellent service and food. Brittoni talked over my friend, was snarky, would not answer any questions, and would not get the manager. Shame the manager was so oblivious to what is going on, especially since there was hardly anyone at Brix....no wonder. Other one star reviews refer to "a sour reception" and " the worst front desk lady" 5 months and 1 month ago (Sharon R, Joel R, and Joelle J), so I guess Brix doesn't care to address the issue. Used to like Brix, but will never go back to there and will never recommend it. The majestic garden and incredible outdoor patio were truly above its class. The staff went above and beyond with their customer service and they showed courtesy and respect which exceeded our expectations. The food was delectable and sumptuous. The coconut soup we started with was novel and unique. The Baby Beet Salad was bursting with freshness and flavor. The Butter Lettuce Salad, according to my partner, was plain yet refreshing. We shared the Caramelized Sea Scallops which provided just the right amount of contrast with our Wood Grilled Prime Ribeye. The steaks were grilled to perfection and sealed our dining experience. The best thing about this place is them being dog-friendly and even providing a refreshment bowl for our baby dog. Well... it is, but the food and service were awesome. Making a reservation online was easy, and the restaurant and property were beautiful. My cousins and I came here after a spa day and shared various dishes. Everything we tried was delicious! I especially loved their truffle mac n cheese, and their pappardelle Bolognese. Although there could be a wait, their waiting room is big and comfortable, or you could take pictures in the vineyards. Food-wise. The truffle fries were a great starter. Valerie, I just had an awful experience with your Dining Room Manager, Stephen Franklin. I've been to BRIX many times and loved the service team. We came for lunch outside without knowing dogs are not allowed in the outdoor seating area. I requested a bowl of water from one of the servers. Stephen abruptly came to our table with a lot of attitude and asked us if our dog was a service dog. I said no. Then he pointed us to sit in the "Barking Lot" or leave. The tone of voice was not appropriate for fine dining. If that is a special area for dogs then it would be fine if it had offered it in a professional way. The new table and chairs under the trees and were not cleaned prior to him making us get up from our table. He was so intense standing over us that we quickly moved. Then I asked him why wasn't this option brought up to my attention before and prepared for us to sit at? His answer was, "all you had to say is that he is a service dog and you could have stayed there". If his attitude would have been more hospitable it would have been different, but from the beginning he had no interest in being helpful. On the other hand, your servers were super on top of it and very friendly. They showed more customer service and etiquette than Stephen. Also, I would ask him to not encourage other pet owners to lie. I hope things improve for other pet owners so that they have a pleasant experience. You have such a beautiful outdoor seating area. And after his rudeness he tells us to leave the premise. His scene was visible and audible to the entire restaurant, inside and out. The whole time my dog sat there quietly not disturbing anyone! I passed this restaurant on the way to St. Helena and thought it looked really cute for dinner. It was a Tuesday and made a point to come back at 5:30 when they open for dinner. I was able to sit outside with a view of their gardens. It was a perfect evening for an outdoor dinner. I wasn't too hungry so I kept to the appetizer menu and glad I did! I ordered the heirloom tomato caprese and the pan seared Sonoma foie gras. (I'm a sucker for seared foie gras.). Needless to say, they did not disappoint! The foie gras was a generous size with the a perfectly paired poached pear. The heirloom tomato caprese was amazing as well. It was fresh, perfectly seasoned and the nice complement I needed for the foie gras. The service was great, it wasn't too crowded even after I left. There is two parking lots - north and south. The gardens you are able to walk through and enjoy. It was a sunny evening, but they had a nice shade to block the sun just enough. Location is just off of the Highway, so you can't miss it. So what can I say I am a Napkin and I love supporting my restaurants from Calistoga to Napa. I want to Brix yesterday and I just wanted to sit on it over night. We came in we had no reservations so we decided to eat at the bar since 2 spots were open. My wife's $16 mule from the gardens was not as good as she remembered when she ordered previously at a lunch she had there I swear they forgot the alcohol . My $9 Pliny hit the spot it never disappoints. We ordered the crab dip appetizer and to me it was ok my Wife loved it that's all that matters! So we patiently ate our appetizer, we finished it 20 minutes in and we were down 3/4s on our beverages. 1/2 hour in we finished our drinks and at this point we're fine we're chatting it up. 40 minutes in we request a water and patiently wait. 50 minutes in the lady bartender asks a staff member where is 221 & 222 or something like that and the gentleman ran back to the running station. Minute 52 we get our mains I got the house made bucatini with clams $26 it was just ok I mean seriously nothing special and a REALLY small portion. My Wife ordered the halibut $39 both of our plates were like warm at best halibut was good everything under it I felt was the quality of a Trader Joe's bowl. Those carrots look like the shredded ones you get Trader Joe's also and tasted like it, broth tasted like a teriyaki with water with some starch from the rice, the rice had a nutty taste like when the rice is undercooked. Usually price should reflect the quality and wow factor, I felt neither! I suggest that you want quality and good service try Mustards down the street! Hate giving bad reviews but it was just a horrible food experience. Service was 8 out 10. Men's bathroom was a disappointment I'm a stickler for clean bathrooms at high end establishments! I'm sorry, but you can't beat the views at Brix. Their back patio is breathtaking. We arrived about 40 minutes before sunset and it was beautiful. My boyfriend and I love dining with a view so we were very impressed. We decided to share a side of Truffle Fries to start. I ordered the Short Rib Raviolis as my meal and my boyfriend the Flatiron Steak. Their portions aren't huge, which is a good thing to me. Just the right amount of food. You can tell the raviolis were made in house and they were delicious. I wasn't too fond of the bone marrow ju that came with the steak but the steak itself was tender and tasty. I'm actually not a huge bread eater. I don't like to get too full before my meal, but you HAVE to try their house made Asiago bread! It comes with butter and an amazing pesto oil dip. The dip was so good we asked for an extra side so my boyfriend dipped his steak in it. Our server made great menu choices when I couldn't decide on my main dish and she was very knowledgeable about the menu. She told us that guests are more than welcome to use their beautiful garden/seating area to enjoy drinks from their bar. Definitely doing that next time! read more

My boyfriend and I found the brix when looking for somewhere to eat during restaurant week. We had heard great things but decided to check it ourselves. The pictures of the restaurant do NOT do it justice. We were a little skeptical but walked in to a modern looking barn home with a gorgeous entry, chandelier and environment. We had the ahi tartar, potstickers, truffle fries, and scallops. All of the above were phenomenal. The service was great we were even joking about how quick they were to fill water and ask if everything was ok. Recommend checking it out! read more
