I will say that I have had brunch here for 2 people and the food was good (albeit slightly overpriced) and the location was beautiful. That is why I thought it would be nice to treat 30 of my family and friends here for a special occasion. Due to last minute planning to accommodate a large party we decided to chance this venue despite the pricing. Unfortunately, we found a very restrictive menu for vegetarians and it was extremely overpriced for what was offered. There had to be preselected menu-full menu not available and the venue was not willing to work with options such as changing French toast for pancakes (despite being the same price) or offering to make egg options such fried egg, eggs over easy, poached- had to be scrambled. Although the venue said they could make vegetarian options, they did the bare minimum... (removing the meat but not offering to replace meat with vegetarian options). No a La carte or added option were allowed. Bar fee was astronomically high for just a select few that would want alcohol( majority of party Did not drink alcohol) so we went with the non alcohol beverage option. This venue perhaps maybe adequate for corporate dinners but I would not ever come again for Brunch and frankly I'm so frustrated about the pricing for an average meal, I don't think I want to come here again for a regular meal. There were surrounding locations that were just as beautifully located, and I would highly suggest trying one of those locations. read more

Brix was one of those places that made our entire first trip to Napa, incredible Absolutely incredible. It was our last day of our 7 day trip to California and it was nearly impossible to pick spots to go to because there were so many amazing restaurants, bars, vineyards and shops to choose from. We somehow ended up at Consentino Winery, which wasn't on our list of places to try and then decided between Brix and Mustards for our next stop being that they are right next to each other. We chose Brix and left so happy that we did. Firstly, the bartender was fantastic. At first he was reserved but once we started chatting, he truly made our experience so memorable. It was happy hour on a Thursday and the place was EMPTY, which for us was amazing because we got to walk around the grounds by ourselves and their "backyard" I'll call it was an absolute dream. Picturesque really. The sun was setting, the lawn was perfectly manicured, beautifully set tables for dinner, a fire pit with big Adirondack chairs around the perimeter. They had the most beautiful gardens in the back with seats dispersed throughout. It was like a garden maze back there with places to stop, sit and enjoy your wine. You'll just have to go and check it out because it's difficult to put into words how serene this experience was. Beautiful mountains in the back, just perfection. We drank delicious chardonnay and ordered some food; Dungeness crab fondue dip, WOW, fire roasted shrimp and burrata with pesto. It was also my birthday the night before and I gave my boyfriend at the time crap for not getting me anything with a candle so he ordered a creme brûlée with a candle for me and it was absolutely sensational. I'm not a big dessert person but this creme brûlée was INSANE. The prices were incredibly reasonable. We really had the best time here. Lots to look at inside their restaurant as well. They had a beautiful fall display and a very cool wine bottle lighting fixture that's impossible to miss upon entering their dining room. Big fan of Brix! read more

I was extremely dissatisfied with the service at Brix. While the food was excellent and our waitress was great, the hostess and I believe the general manager, Steve, were extremely dismissive and disingenuous. We were welcomed with turned backs at the hostess stand, followed with an attitude of "you're inconveniencing us" by asking questions about the weather outside. When we moved inside, Steve made an off-putting comment to us, "try to enjoy yourselves at least" with the most sarcastic tone. Also inside, there were flies all over our table and landed all over our food. The outside of Brix is gorgeous and again, the food was delicious, but for a restaurant at this price point, the service should have been decent at the least. read more

Sunday brunch is over the top. Had three different types of fresh oysters and the shucker was more than happy to explain the different types. Food is made in small batches so it is fresh. Last year, my mother turned 80 on March 5th. We came to BRIX to celebrate, just before the dreadful lockdown occurred. They were incredibly kind to her, and she said she had the best meal she thinks she's had in her life. This is quite a complement, considering how well traveled she is, and how much she enjoys eating good food. Often, when two women---especially two women, a-hem, of a certain age, dine together, they are seated by a restroom, or near the area where table wares and water are prepped. We were given a lovely view of the garden. So special. The view was amazing, even with an impending storm, a bare garden, and it was quiet in the place as it was an odd day of the week. The waitress was phenomenal, and the food, holy cats, it was so so good. The best part was spending a birthday of such a momentous number with mom. We both said dad would love it and vowed to bring him back on his birthday in June. Sadly, Dad grew ill while mom was here from Southern California and she had to fly home early. He was unable to make it for his birthday as the drive up would have been too much for him. Sadder still, he passed away in November, almost unable to eat a bite of any kind of food without choking. Mom and I had spoken about how much he'd have loved this place; it's beauty, and delicious foods. I'd hoped she'd be able to come up again this year, but covid has seen to it that it's not safe. Someday, she and I will make it back, have a good glass of Cab in honor of dad, and celebrate a future birthday of hers. It was a beautiful meal, and we were treated very, very well. read more

I have been to Brix many times before, and this time, left disappointed. The food overall was decent, and the atmosphere was nice, but they fell on their faces in multiple ways they never have before. First off, we had a reservation, arrived a little before and promptly were left to cool our heels for over half an hour, with so little attention that I wondered if they'd forgotten us. And we were not that huge a party, nor were there a dearth of open tables. The way the hostess reacted to me when I tried to politely inquire after 20 minutes of just waiting around as to what was going on could scarcely be characterized as friendly. Perhaps indifferent? Definitely not caring. They also remodeled the restaurant and while it's not ugly, they certainly didn't manage to improve anything. I am sure there were monetary reasons behind the redesign...hopefully, since they didn't seem to be going for visually pleasing ones. The service at the table was prompt and fine overall. The waitress was friendly and took our drink order promptly. Although $6 for a pathetic bottle of ice tea with no refills? Also a bottle of ice tea? The Bloody Mary was apparently way over-peppered, too. The Brix tai was apparently good, and my non-alcoholic drink was decent, if nothing to write home about. The food was also decent, but declined. There were certain delicious items, and most were good, but the salads were only fair and it seemed to me that there was less choice. However, diminishing everything were the flies. There were flies everywhere and on everything. There's nothing more appetizing than flies crawling over the dessert options or happily sitting in the middle of the salad bowls. Also, a high number of the 'clean' dishes they set out were not clean. These seem like minimal standards of quality that a HIGH priced restaurant should manage without strain. And Brix failed both of them. So, I left feeling like I'd been let down by an old, trusted friend. read more

Our server was very nice and attentive. Sadly that's about the best thing of the evening for us. After many years of visiting Oakville/Yountville and having so many fabulous meals this was just mediocre at best. We tried the tempura green beans, lobsters deviled eggs, tuna tartare, artichoke, lobster fondue, and steak frites. They have a very interesting menu but just poorly executed. Maybe it's the COVID syndrome or something going on in the kitchen tonight but we always expect the well known restaurants to be a cut above and this clearly was not. I've been coming to this restaurant for over the last 10 years. There is no racism here what so ever. Not only to do I come here but I bring many guests here. It is ALWAYS a home run. The patio seating is beautiful, and a main reason we came on Thursday. However, we also came here because in the past they were able to make a nice vegan dish with fresh vegetables by request. This time, the waiter did not want to ask the chef about vegan options. When he finally supposedly did ask, he ended up serving me four full vegetable side dishes veganized on one plate and charging me about $45, adding up the cost of the sides. It wasn't appropriate proportions, portion size, or flavorful, as one meal. The asparagus and edamame were okay. The cocktails were mediocre, but I would still just come back for cocktails, no food, next time to enjoy the garden. Wish they would just master one vegan entree and put it on the menu. read more

The Good: The food here is very good. It is very delicious. Our food came out quickly and hot. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very good. Lots of windows for excellent lighting. The outside view of the garden is amazing. The Bad: The food size portion is a bit small. And the prices are slightly expensive too. Because of the outside garden there were a few flies inside the restaurant. My second visit Came here a couple days ago but this time for lunch. I actually enjoyed the lunch a lot. The food was very delicious and had lots of flavor. The tomatoes were very juicy. The staff as expected very friendly and helpful. I felt the lunch portions to be much more balanced than dinner. The service was excellent, they took us in before our reservation time . Their crab cake was very fresh and yummy and made from scratch. Their beef and bologna pasta was excellent as well. Superb restaurant. I attended a wedding rehearsal dinner here on a Friday night. The staff is outstanding. Very attentive and friendly. The food was superb. We started the evening with a few different finger foods, including a kebab, a mini quiche and a crab cake. For dinner, we had the baby greens salad for a starter, and the option of filet mignon or salmon entree. For dessert, we could choose an apple and cherry crisp or chocolate molten cake. This buffet is actually decent price and a good selection. There's a cheese & bread spread, fresh oysters, smoked salmon, made to order omelettes, dessert table, pasta, salads, ceviche, etc. reservations are recommended as it's a popular spot for brunch in wine country. It pains me to write this, but seriously was I the only person not intoxicated while dining here during Sunday brunch? I'll stick with the positives first though, which include: the gorgeous patio and the great service. The sourdough pancakes, the bacon, ceviche, and the fresh fruit salad were the only things that I thought were tasty. The duck confit hash croquettes and garlic tri-tip were alright, but I couldn't taste any garlic on the tri-tip and it looked kind of dry (though didn't taste dry). The meats from the charcuterie looked somewhat questionable, because I saw some edges of one of the meats look kind of grayish...definitely skipped that. There weren't many attractive choices for the salads, and for the wood oven portion of the buffet they only offered roasted potatoes, thin pizzas, and a veggie quiche. They had a small seafood bar which included: oysters, little neck clams, cocktail prawns and smoked salmon. I was excited about dessert, but it fell pretty flat too. The lemon mousse cake was probably the best dish besides the fruit salad. The cupcakes weren't bad either. However, we were so excited about the fresh (I waited til they put it out) cinnamon donut balls, yet they weren't hot and they didn't have any oomph. I also agree with some of the Yelps I've seen here too, there are some flies flying around some of the food! I appreciate the fact that they do not make huge quantities of food to be sitting out underneath heating lamps, but the selection is very limited and the taste for much of the food isn't there especially for $38.50! If they are going to offer a small selection of items for the buffet they need to master them. read more

I was having a birthday weekend (yes, I turned 19, thank you - and Virgos RULE) in Napa this past weekend and this is where it kicked off for us as a group. For that occasion, 25 Degrees Brix was a huge letdown. It's unfortunate, too, because the ambience of the place is really quite nice. I liked the layout, I really liked the patio furniture in front, location was fantastic, and the patio with surrounding gardens was breathtaking. All the points this place collected crumbled with the food. I took a slew of photos and have uploaded them. The food looks great, don't be fooled. I picked my entree from the brunch offering - - poached eggs atop corned beef hash. This was perhaps the only dish that was quite decent - - but the most special thing about it was that it wasn't bad like everyone else's dishes. One friend ordered the lox and cream cheese pizza.... alright, so there's something wrong with a restaurant who decided to put lox on a pizza, and there's a certain amount of fault placed on the person who thought it'd be a good idea to order it. (I will refrain from commenting that I, also, was pondering that one but in the end decided lox and pizza do not make a good partnership in any mouth.) One ordered another pizza (not sure which one), another ordered the cheeseburger and the last friend ordered the bacon and fresh mozzarella pannini. I've said lox and pizza do not belong together - and I will just say: I was right. The other pizza was bland and lacking any kind of sparkle. The pannini was decent on the top half - - the bottom half had a crust soaked in oil and juices.... MUSH. The cheeseburger w/ blue cheese - - it read beautifully on the menu, but I took one bite and nearly passed out at how horrible this was. INEDIBLE. Awful paprika spice was in the ground meat itself, the blue cheese was piled on and it was "hypertension on a plate - stat!" We ordered 4 Bloody Marys - and they were all pretty decent. Again, I have to add - nothing special. Perhaps those giving this place 5 stars chose something different off the menu, and we made all terrible choices, I am not sure. But it always confuses me when the rating differs so drastically. Service was friendly - and while we never complained about the horrible cheeseburger, we did make mention of it when the bill came. Our waiter was gracious enough to take it off the bill for us, without us even requesting it. Very kind. Between him and the general manager/sommelier (with great music selection) - - we could not ask for more in service - - but I have to add that service was extraordinarily slow. After our drink order, it was another long stretch of time before our food order was taken, and then decades passed before the food was actually delivered - - which is perhaps the kitchen's doing more so than that of the servers'. Ahhh Brix - one of Napa's unsung heros! Sitting in the shadow of it's famous neighbor (Mustard's), Brix hasn't gotten the attention it really deserves. This fantastically fresh restaurant offers exactly what you'd expect from any Napa restaurant worth stopping at: - the fresh gardens - daily seasonal menu - outdoor patio dining - killer vino menu - gift store One of the best sandwiches I ever ate was here. They were offering a grilled mozzarella & prosciutto construction with micro greens. If this sounds like one of the yummiest sammys going, you'd be right. Basically, a grilled caprese - and served of course with crispy salty fries. They always have fresh soups that are seasonal, interesting and tasty. They also have some of the tastiest beet dishes around. Beets are becoming fashionable, and Brix is coming up with new & unique ways to serve them. I recently ordered the beet & blue cheese offering and it was tasty. Service is great, and there is almost never a wait. This may change after their kitchen was showcased on Top Chef. We had lunch at Brix recently and had very mixed feelings about it. The decor is lovely - and had it been a sunny day, it would have been really nice to eat outside on the patio, but alas it was raining, so we stayed inside. First negative - no bread comes to the table. Just three bread sticks for each couple. When two of us asked for more bread sticks, three more were brought to each couple. Hello? We were enjoying a lovely bottle of wine our vintner friend had brought us and it would have been nice to enjoy a few more bread sticks, thank you very much. Next surprise was the portion size when the meals came to our table . My husband's smoked duck Cobb salad was very small - and there was no presentation at all. Just some mixed greens and relatively few pieces of excellent smoked duck. He had asked for his avocado to be on the side - and it was, in a tiny dish with a few pieces inside. Really surprising. The person who got the shrimp scampi needed to have very little appetite, because there were four shrimp on the plate. Tasty, yes. I had what was deemed the best meal of the lot - the short smoked salmon with celery root croquette, mushroom duxelle and baby arugula. This place has been our little family tradition for the last 5-6 years. We come here strictly for Sunday brunch two times a year. One during our anniversary time and once again around Thanksgiving. It's a cute little restaurant with great outdoor seating overlooking the Napa valley mountains. In their outdoor area in the back, they have their gardens and grape vines. Now the food, it isn't a huge buffet with hundreds of selections. But even with the few things, the quality is soooo good you can't go wrong. I notice that the menu changes based on season, etc. but a couple things that they always have during brunch is the unlimited fresh oysters, large prawns, baked clams. Big reason why we come in the first place. They also always have the sourdough pancakes which are my all time favorite!!!! I can't wait to go back again in February. read more

I'm sorry Brix but the food was just horrific and this review is heavily skewed towards that. My party and I ordered these items: 1) tempura fried vegetables, beans, zucchini, eggplant, lemon-fines herb aioli Lots of people recommended this but I don't know why. The presentation looked interesting at first. I was hungry so I dug right in. However, after a few bites I started to taste hints of old oil. I continued to eat this the nasty batter just because I was hungry but I really was not enjoying it. The gross feeling of eating oily food lingered in my stomach for a while. I felt some steatorrhea coming. Maybe it was just that day, but DO NOT GET THIS DISH. 2) rustichella pasta bucatini, duck leg white bolognese, red onion, garlic breadcrumbs, pecorino It tasted like regular ground beef and some boiled noodles from Safeway. Don't get this. 3) wood grilled lamb burger, french feta, pommes frites, smoked paprika aioli The burger was alright. It looked very appetizing. However, it's nothing special. The only thing I liked about this meal was the french fries that came with the burger. Why? Because they tasted like they're from McDonald's. My friend was looking for a Big Mac to go along with it. We were eating the fries like 4 at time. When you eat quality/gourmet fries, you don't eat 4 at a time. Service was OK. I'd give this place 1 star if it wasn't for the nice setting and garden. My husband and his family are members of a French Club who take a lot of awesome annual trips, including a destination trip to Wine Country Napa. For the last two years Brix has been the destination-of-choice for Les Faneurs' wine trip. We begin the day with hor d'oeuvres and champagne at Domaine Carneros and then complete the event with a fancy lunch in the beautiful garden at the back of Brix. The staff is nothing but warm and welcoming and gracious in every way. They professionally serve food to our group of 100+ as simultaneously as imaginable. Which leads me to the food! We have a multi-course prix fixe menu beginning with butter lettuce salad, then entrees including both tender grilled salmon and juicy, rare filet mignon (perfectly cooked!). I'm a seafood lover so to no fault of the steak the salmon is always my favorite of the two dishes - it's outstanding! Last to join the party is our dessert (buttercream cupcakes are terrific - the crème brulee is my favorite though!) The wine glasses are kept full through the entire lunch and the servers are really attentive to keeping water glasses full too. And of course, coffee and cream at the end of the meal. The outdoor seating here has always been set up nicely with beautiful tables in three long rows. They also put umbrellas out and so even though there are lots of spots in the sun, we get plenty of shade for part of the lunch also. It's really nicely done. We are also welcome to walk through their gardens and grapes - and at the back of the property are the railroad tracks where the wine train slowly strolls by from time to time. My family and I came here for a post mothers' day celebration and all I can say was I was not prepared for this place at all. It's located in this beautiful area with a garden and vineyard in the back. It's a simple, but classy looking place with a lot of wood furnishing. We were escorted to a big round table for our party of 5. Normally this place books fast so luckily we had a reservation. We came here for brunch and it is buffet style. When you walk around they have a cheese and cracker station, salad station, meats station, starches station, sweet breakfast items, clams, fresh oysters, shrimps, pasta, pizza, an omelette making station, more breakfast items and more more more. The food was amazing. I can't even begin to explain it but all I can is say it's excellent quality, excellent flavor combinations and there's so much food. It's not just breakfast items so if you're leaning more towards lunch you're good to go. They also have a dessert station. They're steak and meats were to die for. Same with their sticky cinnamon buns. Mimosa's are about $6 each. I wish it was included in the buffet price or wish that they had unlimited. The service was excellent. The servers were so attentive and they make sure you don't reuse your utensils. Every time you get a new plate, they come around and bring you new utensils. I thought it was pretty funny but it was lavish hahah. I will FORSURE be back this summer. I love this place and it's a definite must for the price of $45. read more

I am amazed at how many 5 star reviews this place gets. It is not that great. The food is def good - no doubt about it. But for a place that is supposed to be so seamless - I had some concerns. One being it was so completely awkward to sit outside as each table sits right next to each other. Literally the tables are inches from each other which leaves it completely awkward when you can hear every word of each other's conversation. For such a nice place no one thought of mood music to make it a bit more comfortable since the pack people next to one another? There was plenty of room outside so I have no clue why we were all sandwiched together. I felt the type of people, at least a good handful were snobby and it just made it so weird, we ate quickly, paid and left a great tip but won't be back as there are far too many other options in the area that make for a beautiful dining experience. read more

These star ratings are so arbitrary. How does one define the difference between a 4 star and a 5? What about a 1 star and a 2? I have decided that the difference between a 3 star and a 4 star is whether when I leave the place I am anxious to return. This is why I am only giving Brix 3 stars. Brix has enjoyable food a great wine list (by the bottle & by the glass) and the ambiance is quite nice. But am I anxious to return? Well no. I have to say that one of the things that turned me off about the place was our waiter. A rather large, winded, older gentleman who when I asked how the pork chop was prepared said "Grilled". And what "Faro" was he said "it's a grain". Ya this guy was not in the business of helping us decide what to eat. We are talking about a restaurant where the main dishes start at $30 and I don't think it's too much to ask that the waiter know the menu. And for shits and giggles I asked him what wine he suggested to go with the duck he said "any of the pinots". I have to figure this is based on the concept that most dishes pair well with Pinot Noir. Nice job wanna be master som. The food was tasty, lamb osso buco, duck breast in a lightly sweet reduction, arancini (fried risotto balls) with lemon aioli all tasted nice. The lamb on a bed of creamy polenta and the duck over faro which is akin to rice/pasta and really did nothing for the dish. Couldn't help but notice the complete absence of veggies on either entree. With all the fresh produce in the region this is kinda ridiculous. I chose a glass of Kelleher Sauvignon Blanc to go with the arancini and it paired quite nicely as it cut the richness of the fried risotto and the lemon aioli helped to emphasize the herbaciousness of the wine . The SB was will rounded with a sweetness and muted bite on the end. After the stunning recommendation from the waiter I picked the Gridley Cab Franc and it complemented both the light gameiness of both dishes. A full, fruit emphasized, red with soft tannins. If you are a mixed drink person try the "El Diablo" a minty and spicy turn on the tradition margarita. Also the brownie sundae is a must have. All for about $150 which by Napa standards is average for "fine dining" The line of the night was from a guy at the table next to us (they are a little too close to each other) who asked the som for a "Big Cab that would pull the dirt from between his teeth". I wonder what the price point would be for such a wine? Would such an experience be painful? read more

Our final night in Napa, we knew we had to make it special. Celebrating my wife's birthday we were very excited to come to Brix. We arrived around 8:00 PM shockingly to a near-empty restaurant. I'm not sure why this place isn't packed 7 nights a week because their food is incredible. The decor inside the restaurant is beautiful and chic. However, as the sun was setting, my wife and I decided it would be perfect to sit outside so we can watch the sun finally set among the beautiful Napa backdrop and Brix's beautiful garden. We were greeted by the sweetest waitress. She was able to provide some great recommendations on the menu. Tip: there is currently a Travelzoo deal which provides 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 glasses of wine/champagne, and 1 dessert for $99 My wife started with the dungenous crab dip, and I started with the sausage pizza. Brix also supplied a delicious bread basket. The pizza was HUGE and very tasty. Enough for a full dinner if you so choose. My wife loved her crab dip which came with some grilled flat bread for dipping. For dinner, there was no way I was leaving Brix without trying their braised short-rib. The short-rib sat atop some root veggies which I didn't care too much for, but the short-rib was incredibly juicy and tender. My wife chose the scallops and since I don't eat scallops I'll trust that she loved them as well. To accompany our dinner, we we also decided to treat ourselves and go out with some truffle fries. The fries were perfectly crispy, salted and the truffle oil was definitely prevalent. Of course the birthday dinner had to end with a dessert. We chose the brownie sundae. The brownie was thick, and ate almost more like fudge than a brownie. The best part of the dessert was the peanut butter ice cream. Overall our experience at Brix was flawless. The restaurant offers some excellent farm-to-table menu items and the service was impeccable as they made us feel very special by providing blankets to sit by their garden to enjoy the gorgeous Napa backdrop. I would certainly return and would encourage everyone looking for a dinner spot in Napa to try Brix!! read more

We saw their menu online and went for the entree but they were only surging Sunday Brunch Buffett. We weren't too hungry but we were already there so we figured why not. The location was gorgeous. Outside seating and garden can you walk around in. We sat inside by the window. It was a gorgeous day, great food, and great service. So many selections for a buffet and it wasn't your typical eggs and sausage. I'm only giving them a 4 star for now in hopes that I can go back to try their entree and be able to update my review to give them a 5 star. read more
