Well with a $800 @ group of family, the server provided exellence service and attentive, the manager,however, did not acknowlwege or assist my brother at the door. WORST EVER, the bartender clearly dis not know hiw make an old fashioned. It was supposed to be strWberry oldfashioned; I had no idea what those were. My vegetarian friends were very disappointed, the pasta dish was underwhelming at best. Friends prime rib was horrible he was only able to eat 4-5 bites before he stopped eating it. My son and I enjoyed Bricks Thanksgiving buffet very much. The restaurant was busy, but not overly crowded or noisy. We had a table with a lovely view of the manmade lake. The staff was friendly and helpful. And the food... Everything was cooked to perfection. Meats included prime rib that was pure perfection, salmon, turkey, and Vegetable Wellington. The salads were delicious, as well as the other sides (mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing, yams, etc.). Dessert included a delicious pecan pie in a flakey crust, pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread pudding, and real whipped cream. This was our first visit to this restaurant, but we are looking forward to return visits. Warmer weather is likely to include outdoor seating alongside the lake. I can't wait! Also, A shout out to the manager who was diligently overseeing the buffet tables to ensure that everything was perfect. read more

Have been here 4x's and every time the quality of the food seems to decrease. Have had the chicken pot pie ($20.95)...the top crust was good but the filling was a soup. Have had the prime rib sandwich ($19.95)... the beef was dry and unappealing...the fries were great. Have had the mushroom burger ($18.95) and the halibut fish & chips($25.95)...the entree's were great along with the fries...went for brunch last week and the omlettes ...fennell sausage (15.95) and the rock shrimp & crab were terrible and the hash browns looked like something you would get at Shari's or Denny's. I took my wife out to lunch to one of our favorite restaurants today. They were very busy but yet we were seated immediately. Our waitress came over and asked if we would like to order drinks. My wife ordered a cup of hot coffee and I stayed with water. At the same time we ordered our food for lunch. We decided to split a burger and a wedge salad. Asked for the dressing on the side of the wedge because I am a blue cheese with crumbles and she is Ranch dressing. The food came and we decided to split a wedge salad with the salad dressings on the side things that I am a blue cheese and she has a ranch. We also ordered a burger done medium,no further. The salad came, and it was nothing but blue cheese. Thank goodness the blue cheese was on the side as were the crumbles. So we had to ask the waitress again for the ranch dressing. Once we dug into the salad, we found out that the core was left in the iceberg lettuce . I told the managers about it and he immediately took it off the bill and told her folks behind the front line to make sure they take the cores out of the iceberg lettuce for the wedges. Upon finishing my wedge salad I went to the burger. Which my wife had already cut in half and started eating her portion. What I found was that the burger was cooked well done and dry. Nothing but a very light coat if mayo. At this point, I did not want to go up to the manager again and tell him about it nor did the waitress ask us how the burger was. Once again, the burger and salad was not split in the kitchen either. Which made it interesting because we made the waitress known that we were going to be splitting these meals. This is one of my favorite restaurants in town to go to and I'm a bit disappointed in the fact that , it just was not up to par today. I understand they were busy and all tables were full, including the bar but yet the people behind the front line I felt did not do the job that I am used to getting when I spend my money there. Came here with a friend of mine for lunch and left severely disappointed. I was excited to see what Hayden's had turned into since Hayden's was a bit of a nostalgic restaurant that had been there as long as I could remember. Atmosphere was nice but the experience overall wasn't. Right of the bat, really unfriendly service. Not sure if it was because we were two younger women that were coming in, compared to their seemingly usual crowd of generally older folk and family, but the hostess that seated us and the two servers that came to our table were very standoffish and rude despite us being very friendly to them. My friend and I both work in food service, so we know there can be bad days and we aim to be extra friendly to staff because of it, but man were they unfriendly regardless. Food was really expensive for what it was. Ordered the halibut tacos off the "shareable plates" appetizer menu, and was surprised it was only two very small tacos for $15. How are you supposed to share two small tacos if it was a table with more than two people? They were messy, hard to eat, and generally really average for being from an upscale restaurant. Friend ordered turkey club, which she described as very mediocre for $18. Overall, probably won't be coming back unless it was happy hour. But even then, I don't think it's worth it for the way we were treated by staff. read more

This review is solely based on their terrible service as we didn't even get to eat the food. We called in to let them know a large group would be coming. We arrived and checked in. The hostess told us to step to the side and wait. Then another group came in and another employer came over and sat them. Then they told us they gave our spot to this other group. When we spoke to them they turned it on us and said they were frustrated with us for calling and coming as a large group yet had no problem accommodating the large group who showed up after us without calling. We then took our group elsewhere. Extremely disappointed and will not be back. read more

We were excited for Brix's arrival to Tualatin after having good experiences at their Pearl District flagship restaurant. We went on a recent Weekend night and it was expectantly busy. The hostess was super gracious and welcoming. We had a 30 minute wait for a table so they set us up at the bar. Bartending staff were also great and the mixed drinks well made. We were seated in a large open style dining area in the back. Our waitress was great and attentive. Staff here are a big plus as you can begin to see. Ordered a fine appetizer. I ordered a fried chicken sandwich and my wife ordered a chicken pot pie. The chicken pot pie was average at best with large oversized chunks of overdone chicken and potato. Potatoes were a bit underdone. My chicken sandwich was equally as average with the breading overcooked and nearly black. The interior buildout of the space was surprisingly sparse and not as intimate as their Pearl location. It is a bit loud in there with a lot of hard surfaces with the polished concrete floors. It feels like the tenant improvements went with a cut budget approach masking those approaches with black scrim over the exposed ceiling, no millwork booths, use of more furniture over built-ins, track lighting and small Millwork features to distract the eye. Not unusual in restaurants but surprising for who we thought Brix was. This had more of a beer hall or tap room feel than relaxing place to have dinner. We will come back in the future but more likely for drinks and appetizers and not for dinner given the average food. read more

My wife and I had our first Date at Brix in the Pearl. We are familIar with Brix and like to celebrate our anniversary there as a nod to our meeting when we aren't celebrating elsewhere. I also sing the praises of the Brown Bag Special. However this place is NOT Brix. It's a sad excuse of a restaurant with the name slapped on it. We went Friday for happy hour. And good lord, there was nothing happy about it. The hostess greeted us and we decided to sit in the bar area. Within minutes a grumpy old man of a server came up and began to complain about us sitting there. Didn't take a drink order, just stormed off. About ten minutes later, we were about to ask the hostess to move us (definitely not with grumpy) when another server came up and started to help us. My guess is Grumpy complained to the manager about having to serve out of his section and the manager caved in. Our server was just ok. Took our drink order, which took WAY too long to get. The drinks were boring and tasteless. Honestly, the cocktail list seemed more like a list of fruit juices with well booze than something I would pay $12 on a happy hour menu. Per the server's recommendation, we ordered the Brix Chips and Calamari. Wow. What a huge disappointment. The chips were stale, the pork in the cheese was mush, the calamari was barely fried and their sauces were sour. We stayed for 45 minutes and had one drink order, never had any other ask for a second round. It was a just bad. Oh and grumpy gramps was running around mansplaining stuff to all the servers. You could see their annoyance with him. The manager was telling everyone to not stand around. What an utter shit show. No thanks. Won't be back. Last year I would've rated 5 stars. Met my girlfriend here November of 2023 and was the best experience I've had ever. We had only gone back one time since and If I remember it was good. We went Christmas Eve this year, I made reservations we got seated quick! I guess that was nice. The reason for the 2 stars really is cause our waiter (im dumb and didn't catch the name but it was a girl, we understand Christmas Eve ur propably working really hard but the attitude was not it. I drink lots of soda so I asked for a few refills before my meal and she was acting shocked and surprised everytime I asked which made me feel like shit. So we ate, tried some dishes we never had before, didn't really enjoy it, wasn't cooked wrong or anything just bad choices I guess. So the big issue of this whole 2 stars is this... so waiter gives receipt it's 64$ like I said I know it's Christmas Eve and she's working hard, we just wanted to go to the place we met and have a good night so I I was just gonna round it up to 70$ which I put all the correct info a receipt needs for a tip and if I noticed right away I would've got a name but I check my bank account next day and she charged 80$ it was like 79.99 or something but she gave herself an extra 10$ I could not afford at the moment, idk how she did it, I did the line in front of tip like normal. Very unsatisfied because of that one waiter. Maybe we will try next year again hope it's better. read more

Really wanted to like this place! Started out on the wrong foot. My mother and I were meeting at Brix for lunch. She arrived first and put both our names at the desk. I arrived, asked if she was there, told no and seated. 10 minutes later she calls me and said she is there ... wow! I had the chicken and waffles and was not impressed. The chicken was dry and over fried. The maple syrup was good, the eggs were not necessary. My mother had the burger and it was good but very messy. Now let us talk about the service ... it was nonexistent! No water refills, no checking back with us (we wanted lemonades,) and had to flag down for the bill. We sat in the bar, server was nice but GREEN. Every question we asked she guessed then asked to find out for sure. Asked for drink suggestions and or questions about some wines and custom cocktails they offered, she didn't really know. Wings were good, pork tacos were average. At times we waited fir another drink and it took 15-20 mi. To get it and bartender was just talking with people. I know it's a newer location but downtown is so much of a better vibe. I really love Brix in the Pearl. Sadly one is not like the other. I'll keep it short because there is no point in elaborating on our servers unprofessional behavior. Food was ok. Meat was very rare and the response I received was "This is industry standard for medium". I've been in the industry for 25 yrs and NO.. rare is not medium as industry standard. Service was horrible and non existent. Sat for 10 mins and had to flag someone down just to get water and menus. When we voiced any kind of unhappiness we were met with defensiveness, insults, blame of other staff members and excuses. Music was SO loud it gave this beautiful space a cafeteria experience. I'll be going back to try their dinner because the menu looks good. Hopefully they'll redeem themselves. Spending money out is a treat for me and as of now I regret choosing them. read more

I have been here a few times since they opened and generally the food is pretty good and the Old Fashioneds are amazing. However, it seems like the food quality is getting steadily worse as time goes by. I don't know if it's because they are understaffed or what, but for the prices they are charging, one would expect a bit more. I had chicken pot pie today and it was obvious when it was brought to me that it was overcooked and dry. There was barely any filling under the burnt pastry and what there was looked like it had been under a heat lamp for days. I took two bites and sent it back. It wasn't taken off the bill because no one could find the manager, but I needed to get back to work so I just paid and left. This is the second visit with less than ideal food so I probably won't be going back for quite a long time. The staff is lovely and I have always had amazing service (not their fault they couldn't find the manager). Maybe they need to consider closing for the hours between lunch/dinner instead of doing happy hour. It's clear they aren't staffed to do good food during that time. read more

placed an order to go and could not be happier with the service. the host was so kind and very helpful, the bartender was quick to greet us and let us know there would be a small wait. she was super sweet and absolutely killing it behind the bar. once the order was placed it was maybe 15 minutes before food was brought out. upon leaving the manager ran out behind us with extra sauces, you can tell the employees care a lot about the business. the food was absolutely delicious, and i'm sure it's even better when you sit in house. super cute spot for date night or lunch, I will absolutely be back! read more

My wife and I visited this restaurant earlier tonight, it plays out to be an upscale tavern but really without the goods. My wife ordered a prime rib sandwich, and I ordered a whiskey burger, cooked medium, both ordered with fries. Her prime rib sandwich was unimpressive and lower in quality than something you might expect from a sub sandwich shop, and my $18.00 burger was not cooked medium but well done. When I pay close to $20 for a burger I tend to expect a seasoned and / or marinated gourmet burger cooked by a chef, this was obviously neither. Both came with a small handful of regular fries. Tonight was my third visit in 20 days. I brought a friend who has never been. After we were seated we waited 25 minutes for ANYONE to acknowledge us. Finally we flagged down a lovely women server who took a wine order. 15 minutes later our wine arrived. 3 stars for now. Came with some friends on a Tuesday night, it was busy but they did a good job of managing the traffic. This is a welcomed addition to Tualatin and should do well. I've been to Brix Portland 6 or so times over the years and was expecting the same type of vibe, food experience. The service was good and attentive. When you open a new restaurant there will be some misses with food as they try to get it right. For now there isn't any pizza as the oven has yet to arrive. The reason for the 3 stars for now is the food. Everything came out cold or Luke warm. I have the prime rib sandwich, the Au Jus was cold and the sandwich was cold too. The couple who came with us and ordered the fried chicken breast and fish n chips. Both had a weird taste to it, we finally figured it out it tasted burnt. Both the chicken and fish were really dark and had that bitter burnt taste. Like the oil it was cooked in was bad. Like I said earlier, sometimes it takes a little tweaks to get the food right. This place has really good service and will accommodate a. Low carb/keto diet. They subbed bacon for hash browns no problem. They had an eggs Benedict with corn cakes which was awesome. The corn cakes are only 7 net grams of carbs each so a ketoish treat! There were some minor issues with my order. They addressed these quickly with no complaint. Truly a great place read more
