Had a terrible experience tonight. Was ordering to carry out our food and wanted to add just an order of fries but that is no "sides" section of their menu. After I ordered and prepaid $90 for our meals I called them and the lady who answered placed me on hold after I told her what I wanted to add. Then a man came on and said "what do you want?" I said I wanted to add an order of fries but they don't have that as an option on their online menu. I had to explain that 3 times, then he finally said okay I can add it. Then with a snotty voice said you get on us. He treated me like I was ripening them off. When I picked up my order I offered to pay for the fries and the lady said it was paid for. Look, parking is a breeze, food is good enough and THERE IS A LAKE. I came for brunch with a friend and it was an easy place to eat with a nice view. I was underwhelmed with the biscuits and gravy but glad it was served with eggs. (Have you ever, in your life, still been hungry after ordering biscuits and gravy? I can now say that I have and I don't have a hole in my toe.) Otherwise, it's good enough and likely a very great place for the neighborhood in that it's able to accommodate groups and be a successful destination for breakfast to dinner. What a cute location. Four of us went for brunch this morning and one of us ordered bottomless mimosas. Our waitress then disappeared and did not check on us. We later found out that she was doing a baby shower in another part of the restaurant. We tried to flag down other waitresses who seem to be very bothered by having to get us refills. We had to ask for the complimentary donuts that were never offered to us. The worst part is that my husband left the table to go outside and decided to be nice and pay the bill. Well apparently that closes the tab and no more mimosas are being served. I think she had a total of two mimosas for the 13 bucks. Worst service ever and the food is mediocre. The only real bummer is not enough staff worked the party & it was really hard to get a drink. We even tried to walk up to the bar but we had to wait for the specific staff member so it was calculated for tips & there was an 18% already applied - i know how much the organizers paid. One bartender did not move from his spot talking to the same couple the entire time I was there and I had to work to get the other ones attention. Weak pours and overcharged for what you get. The salads were fairly good. The prices were a little high for the quality. The kids' menu was weak. The music was LOUD - that pretty much ruined it for us. This was our first time here. My wife and I, along with another couple, had a wonderful meal at Brix Tavern - Tualatin. We went early to avoid the crowd (4pm Friday), and it was a good thing we did. It really started filling up around 5:30, as one might expect. It is industrial in appearance with a concrete floor and wide open - no booths or separation which tends to allow for a lot of chatter noise. They have a happy hour 3-6pm everyday plus Tues-Sat 9pm to close and Sun & Mon 3pm to close. Everyone in our party chose to dine off of the happy hour menu as the selections were many and lots of them looked like they would be good. 3 from my party chose the happy hour cheeseburger. It is a good size burger with smoked cheddar (liquid) cheese, lettuce, tomato, grilled onion & aioli. It is a messy burger which to me is normally a sign of a good burger, but I think it was mostly the cheese which caused this to be a slippery mess. Next time - cheese sauce on the side! Very good tasting burger - tasted like good beef was used and you could taste that it was cooked on a grill, not a flat top. Everyone commented on what a great tasting burger it was and a great happy hour value at just $9.50. An order of fries or tots added is $3 extra. The fries were fried perfectly and had a nice crunch & flavor. I chose the pork sliders which were $7.50 and the Brix Tachos for $7.50. The sliders were quite good with pork, bbq sauce, pickled onions and slaw. 2 came in the order. The tachos are tater tots covered with the same smoked cheddar cheese sauce, bacon, sour cream and I got the salsa & jalapeños on the side. The tots needed to be more plentiful and definitely crispier, especially to stand up to the toppings. It was a disappointment for an extra $4.50 over plain tots.. Next time I will get regular $3 tots and ask for them crispy. Service was okay, not great though the server was friendly enough, but when it got busier, she was not very attentive. All in all, it was a really nice meal and we plan to go back to check out other menu items. read more

I've been here many times now. At first when they opened the food was awesome, portions were appropriate, drinks were good. But since they opened, it has gone down hill dramatically. The food is no longer good. The pot pie is way off. Either the veggies are undercooked, or there is not enough sauce, or there is way too much meat. They can't get it right. Also the Brix Chips used to be our favorite app, but the last few times there was hardly any dip at all - and served with stale tortilla chips. Also PLEASE HIRE AN ACTUAL BARTENDER. Last several times the "bartender" had no idea what a Cadillac margarita was. I got ice, tequila and lime. Service has been very bad as well. They take your order then disappear. I couldn't have ordered more cocktails even if I wanted to. I think we're probably going to skip visiting this location again and stick with the one downtown that always seems to get it right. Nothing, NOTHING more frustrating than paying good money for bad food. read more

Got sat quickly with no reservations on a Sunday morning. Kiddo crushed the berry yogurt parfait. We got the fennel sausage omelette and chicken and waffles. Maybe it's just me, but fried chicken should never be panko crusted. It looks and reminds me of fish and it totally curbed my appetite when it came out. Meh......not impressed but I wanted to be. Brix has been the talk of the town in Tualatin. After nearly 25 years, Hayden's Lake Front Bar and Grill closed leaving the space for a fresh atmosphere of a new restaurant. Maybe my expectations were too high. Our visit began with two stuffy unwelcoming staff at the door who hardly offered a welcome. We were asked if we had a reservation for our 4pm Saturday afternoon pop in to which we didn't. We were then told that the table we were placed had a 6pm reservation and we were asked "is that enough time for you to eat?". We sat at our table for over 25 minutes with no water, no service, and no recognition. I began to wonder if two hours was enough time to eat. A very nice server did find us and apologized for the delay. The food and first round of drinks came quick, 5-10 minutes. We were off and running! The food was not impressive. I question how much was Sysco, I think the calamari was. Taco Bell's crunch wrap supreme is better than theirs. The salad croutons were stale, I'd guess three days old. The tortilla chips were stale, not all of them. It seemed every fourth chip was hard and chewy. Like a new bag was mixed with what remained in the bottom of the container. Then our last item arrived, their signature Brix chips. A cast iron pan with queso and pork shoulder. It was very good and I'd order again. But as I presume I had a sign on my forehead, "treat him poorly", the Brix chips arrived with the chip bowl on top of the pan with queso. When the server took the bowl off the pan, there was cheese all over the bottom of the bowl which then was strewn all over the table and my shorts. The server was gone so quickly he didn't catch what had happened. I'll return hoping they get their act together. But if this is the standard, they won't be a regular watering hole for me. read more

Came for late night happy hour. Restaurant was a very empty and took awhile before we got greeted by host after having to get attention from the staff from the kitchen. Brix Burger was mediocre. Nothing special: the bun wasn't toasted, no sauce, not much flavor. The Buffalo chicken wings tasted like it was straight from the box. Buffalo sauce was so sour and tasteless. Brix chips came with fondue cheese and it'd have been better if it was just pour on top of the nachos because the cheese started to harden by the time it got to the table, which made it difficult to dip. Wild berry cocktail tasted watered down. Overall, would not recommend coming here. It's overpriced for cheap ingredients and poor service. read more

There was a wait so we put our name in and walked around the lake, and got a text promptly at the expected time - great start. We had a three year old in our party that was treated wonderfully by staff and he had a great time. We ordered two benedicts and a breakfast hash, all of which delievered. read more

Honestly, it would've been a 5-Star review if they still had their doughnuts. I hadn't been to BRIX since COVID...and the BIGGEST thing I was excited for returning to a BRIX Brunch was the AMAZINGLY delicious doughnuts. It was actually my main selling point convincing our party to agree on a spot. Everything else was fairly great. You can tell they're going through growing pains since it's a new location...but all the food/drink items we got were delicious, and our waitress was an absolute pleasure! I'll start by saying food was great! I think our server was having a bad day (I hope it was just one day...). From the first interaction she had a frown and a tone of "I don't want to be here". That was her demeanor the entire time. She actually made my friend and I wonder if we offended her before even speaking to her? We also noticed that the tables she served, including ours, did not get the complimentary donuts (my friend was most bummed about that lol). I hadn't been to Brix since it became Brix. The interior is completely different and very nice in an industrial minimalist sort of way. We had a rehearsal dinner there in a nice room off to the side, which was private enough to feel exclusive. They did a nice job with getting individual drinks for a large group. The buffet they set up had some really tasty dips, potatoes, pizza I think, and a couple of rotating spots that changed things up now and then. I was watching what I ate so I'd fit into the dress I was going to wear to the wedding so I didn't partake of some of what looked to be the best, ;) but everyone was enjoying the food, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. Great buffet Easter brunch this year with plenty of selections and attentive staff. The water view was nice, too! The only minor issue was that our reservation was for 9 a.m., and the hostess waited until 9:05 to let people in to be seated. Food- absolutely amazing, always satisfied with the flavor and quality of the food. Service - above and beyond, managers are always on top of checking in with us customers to ensure everything is going well. Our waitress, Brianna K. , was so patient with my brother and I today. My brother is blind and has autism and she was outstanding, offering to make accommodations for him including seating preferences. Ambiance - sitting outside is always my preference on a nice spring or summer day, right next to the lake. Always a beautiful sight. Side note, my mother's first time here went okay, she was impressed by the taste of the food, her only side note was the temperature of our food was not to her liking. She wished it was hotter, although she loves burning her tongue on all food we get, so side note, if food temperature is a MUST, make sure to let your server know as it's typically pretty steady foot traffic in there that you'd appreciate your food extra hot. Sadly, won't be returning to Brix Tavern. My husband and I decided to have dinner on March 8, 2024, as they had a 2018 Kings Estate on their wine list. However, the server proceeded to serve us a 2019 Kings Estate instead. When we asked about the error, they said that their menu was wrong. They did apologize and asked if we wanted something else. We said no need to bother. However, the poor service continued as my meal was served in error as well. They eventually did fix the error and provide the right food. Overall, I was disappointed that the staff didn't offer to comp a portion of our bill due to the overall poor experience and service. They just really didn't care. Also, we looked around the area we were seated in, and it felt more like a cafeteria. The tables were small and wobbly and the chairs looked and felt cheap. I miss Haydens. read more

This was the worst eggs benedict that I've ever had. I tried the vegetarian benedict; cornbread, heirloom tomatoes, avocado, poached egg and hollandaise sauce. When I imagine what it would be like to lose my sense of smell and taste with COVID..... this meal is it. There was NO flavor. The cornbread was slightly warmed, and yet soggy from the dish. The "heirloom" tomato was just a cold, hard, standard vine tomato - no char or pan roast, no seasoning. The hollandaise sauce was the most flavorless thing I have eaten. This meal was all sorts of disappointing. And the staff was nothing to write home about. Either the woman who took my order put it in wrong (I asked for a side of toast in place of the side of hash browns) - and the benedict came out plated on the toast rather than the cornbread (had I known how sad the cornbread was, I might've just stuck with the sourdough). The waiter who brought me the incorrectly made meal wasn't thrilled to have it re plated (I wasn't thrilled to ask - I don't like to do that). Lastly, my husband - who was also thoroughly disappointed in his Brix classic benedict (all the same complaints) - asked for a side house salad, which our waitress completely forgot to put the order in for. At least she realized her mistake as we were leaving and apologized. The second star is only for the complimentary donuts the provided as an appetizer- those donuts were delicious.
