Decided this was the place for dinner after a long work day with a colleague. It's an older building with unique art on the exterior. There's also an outside patio. The place reminds me of bars that I would have frequented in my twenties and felt strangely familiar. The bar keep/waiter was super friendly and laid back. Our party of two proceeded to order burgers, mine with regular fries and my dining companion the garlic fries. I made a few substitutions which were quickly accommodated with a smile. The burgers were soooo good! Cooked perfectly to order and the garlic fries are a must. So perfectly garlicky without any bitterness and delightfully delicious. They're known for their burgers, but even without ordering one, everything we tried was delicious. The fried sweet pickles with house-made ranch were my absolute favorite--perfectly crispy and so flavorful. The mac and cheese was rich and homemade-tasting, and the house chips with salsa and beer cheese dip were a great addition. Our friends ordered the mac-and-cheese grilled cheese (yes, really!) and devoured it, and the Reuben was also a huge hit. Definitely an 11/10 experience. Brunch here was satisfying! I had the old school breakfast plate & wife had corned beef hash. Our waiter did a good job taking care of 29? of us at a relatively same time. That was unreal right? Bc of the amount of people that additional tip was automatically added but not sure the exact amount. My wife was too busy to check it. Plus we had our own tabs so no confusion or complaints about that! That's rare to do that & can be tedious but they were truly accommodating! Hats off to them! It was Xmas season 2025. Came in on 12/14/25 with my beautiful wife and adorable little daughter for a Christmas Party Brunch my friend Alex T was hosting. The ambiance was nice and cozy with two giant TVs playing Sunday football games. We ordered Chicken and Waffles and strawberry lemonade for each of us. My little one was still sound asleep in her car seat. The chicken and waffles were amazing! Chicken was so tender and juicy, without even knowing it, I ate the whole plate in manner of minutes. I can't say I share the "love" of this place. We came in on a weekday for lunch to find out what the rave reviews were about. Broderick is billed as a "Roadhouse" which is great, as I love a good roadhouse style restaurant. Exterior is now painted with some cool murals, and they have a large exterior space to dine when the weather permits. Parking is dirt/gravel and mostly unmarked so you pretty much park wherever you find space. The interior is darker (not bar dark) with low ceilings and the overall space appears to either be in transition of repairs, or just neglected. A long bar, and some standard tables, and high tops finishes the interior decor. When we walked in, the person greeting us, announced that if we pay with cash they will knock off 7% from the bill. However, after we were seated the server announced that they will take off 5% if we pay with cash... HMMMM let's all get on the same page here. We ordered our lunches which were ok. Nothing special but not bad. My issue here is that when the bill came, not only did they not take off either 5% or 7%, but they ADDED 2.5% as "Additional Fee".... what the hell??? NOT a way to conduct business and we will definitely not be returning. read more

Most recent visit, I attended a 2025 holiday party here. It was a cozy pj themed brunch, so we were the first ones to arrive, and the staff had reserved most of the dining room tables for us. The team of 2 staff handled our group of 20 smoothly, while also tending to other customers who trickled in. Known for their burgers, I opted for the "old timer" with onion rings and hubby got the old fashion with fries. Food came out in a timely manner. Food looked great and tasted ok. I think the patty was a little bland though. 3 stars for food, and 5 stars for the service. We had a great time there and would consider going back if we were in the area. read more

Did you know they serve duck burger here? As well they have a lamb burger too. So for the duck Burger I do like how the ground their own duck meat and they make it into a patty and it's really great mild flavor. I do like how they use big Jam in it to give it a little bit of sweetness. I also love the big oversized cheese skirt they use which is cheddar cheese and it gives it the perfect saltiness to it with the sweetness combination from the Fig Jam. . THey do serve up some amazing fries like Philly cheese steak with baby portobello mushrooms and cheese with bell pepper and onions. They also have some Bahn mi fries which has really nice pulled pork and pickle radish and carrots which compliments the pulled pork and mix the fries more flavorful. The portions for the fries is really big and can feed easily to the three people and it could be shared. . They were really nice and time efficient with a large group for Xmas party here. Absolutely loved this restaurant! Went there with coworkers for lunch, their usual, my first time, and I must say it was awesome. They are going through some repairs from an accident, but no matter this place was cute and quaint. Food was fabulous. I had the sliders and loved them! If I ever need a burger and I am in west sac, this is exactly where I'm coming. My buddy and I came in a couple days ago for the Johnny Cash burger, medium rare and a side a ranch. The service was awesome because there were only a few people there. I loved that given it meant our burgers would be out immediately. Upon receiving my burger I immediately noticed the mass amount of fries which was awesome. The burger was cooked perfect, the peppers inside gave a better texture to each bite and paired with the ranch was 10/10. The fries were delicious and had a nice soft crunch to them. I would most definitely recommend this burger to anyone at this location. I would say my only concern was that each ranch cup was $1 & it was tiny, that gave us a good laugh. The place is a little hidden and looks like a house until you see the sign and beautiful artwork. Once you enter, there is a small eating area and a bar. Our server was super sweet and she offered recommendations for drinks and food. We had the fried pickles, fried chicken sandwich and the banh mi sandwich. It's has an old neighborhood bar feel and the staff is always friendly. I've been a fan of it's Johnny Cash burger and Buffalo fries for years. I decided to try the Kentucky chicken sandwich for the first time during my last visit. I'm glad I did! The sandwich is a little expensive, but it's piled high with buttermilk-fried chicken, pickles, sauce, and tossed in Kentucky bourbon oil. It was so large, I had a hard getting my mouth around it. I had to run an errand in West Sacramento and decided to find a place to have a quick lunch. Saw that Broderick's was nearby and based on the "yelp' reviews, we stopped by. I like the look. Kind of "divey" in a good way. We sat inside and it feels like a bar, which I like. I did a little reading and Broderick's appears to be a favorite of the locals. I ordered the Old-School Burger with bacon and my Wife ordered the Mushroom Swiss and Onion Sliders. We were both very happy with our selections. The only thing I would say is the hamburger patties could have used a little more seasoning. I got my fries "naked", and they were good. I just added a little salt. I'm just going with a 4-Star here because I plan on going back and trying other things. The Johnny Cash Burger is very popular and there's a Duck Burger I'd like to try as well. In fact, there are many items that look and sound delicious. There are also a variety of ways to order the fries. It is a bar, but we only had iced teas, so I would also like to try some of their drinks as well. Ordered a chopped cheese and it was so good! The portions were so huge. Came with two pickle slices. The filling was flavorful. The side salad is pretty good as well. The sandwich did drop a lot of sauce and oil into my hands towards the end though but that's a cheesy sandwich for you. Service was all right but there was a whole when we couldn't find any waiters to take our orders. We were waiting on one of our party, but after we confirmed they would be very late we couldn't flag down an attendant for like a while. The restaurant is pretty nice, with the menus educating you about Broderick and newspapers on the wall you can read waiting for the restroom. A nice concept for a restaurant for sure. read more

We ordered the Colossal Wings, Bacon Mac & Cheese, the Johnny Cash Burger, Corned Beef Hash, and Belgian Waffles. The Colossal Wings and Bacon Mac & Cheese were the standouts--absolutely delicious, 10/10. The Johnny Cash Burger was solid, I'd give it a 7/10. Unfortunately, the Corned Beef Hash was a miss--it was a bit dry and lacked flavor so I'm giving it a 5/10. As for the Belgian Waffles, they came out slightly underdone, but I personally enjoy them that way--crispy on the outside and soft inside--so it worked out! Plus, the syrup was excellent. Took my boy here for the first time, had a great time! Only had 1 server on duty and had 2 large parties that were sat at the same time as us. Place was packed! Thank GOD a Hispanic lady from the back filled in for us, I comforted her with speaking to her in Spanish, which really wasn't needed, her English was fine, but made her feel confident. The original Brodericks, and the last one standing. Came in late night after an evening event in Davis. Shared an order of the pretzel with beer cheese, and each had a burger/sandwich and fries of some sort. The Johnny Cash (cheddar, bacon, sweet pickled peppers, fried onion, BBQ) was a hit, and I tried the Reuben (corned beef, swiss, sauerkraut, thousand island). The bun was interesting instead of traditional rye bread. Definitely upgrade those fries! Garlic, Desperado, Banh Mi, or Buffalo are all great choices. Note that for nonalcoholic beverages, they do carry Coke products. Next time I might go for the mushroom swiss sliders or the Impossible Burger! read more

I was there a few weeks ago with a party of 8 and, honestly, it was some of the worst service I've experienced. The tall guy with the long hair was extremely rude. At first we thought he was joking. The table next to us was just as shocked, he actually grabbed a plate out of a man's hand and took the food back to the kitchen. The busser, on the other hand, was really kind and did his best, so credit where it's due. I totally understand busy nights, rushes, or even running out of things. But this wasn't that, the server's tone and approach toward paying customers was completely out of line. The place itself is dark and dirty. Not inviting. The food is just okay. The male bartender seemed like they're homeless in our unwelcoming. I kept thinking it was me so I kept going back only to realize that it wasn't and what I was seeing and thought I was imagining all came delight when it was very difficult for me to get a order in at the end of the day it only takes one to screw it all up. This is a cool place to stop if you are in west sac. Especially after a ball game. Its only a couple minutes away. The service was fantastic. The poor waitress was working by herself, didnt write a single thing down, and she was attentive and got our food out in no time. The food was really good. I had grilled fish tacos. The fish was well cooked, the had some nice heat and sweetness. I cant complain at all. We also had the buffalo cauliflower wings. Which I would wholeheartedly recommend. Fish tacos were not great at all! Maybe that's what I get for ordering them while in a pub? I did like the coleslaw it came with but it was too much which made everything soggy! So maybe the fish started out crispy? But when I got it, it was anything but. I also ordered fries, and while they were crispy, the way they brought them out--all coated in the aioli- it made it difficult to take them to go.
