We were looking for a place to eat BBQ and came across this spot on TikTok. We figured, why not give it a try? Just be prepared to wait--if you're not okay with that, this might not be the place for you. That said, the food was absolutely worth it! Everything we ordered was delicious. As someone from the Bay Area who's been searching for great BBQ, we're so glad we stumbled upon this place. A special shoutout to our server, Matt! He was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Matt has exactly the kind of positive energy every server should have. Thanks for the great service!

Ribs, chicken, tri tip, hot links, corn bread

A solid restaurant in Freeport catering to a very wide audience of old school diners as well as newer age modernists. The vibes are very homey and somewhat eclectic but uncluttered. Overall, the food is good but not amazing. Compared to some of our Sacramento staples, Tank House, Urban Roots, Buckhorn, this place doesn't really meet the mark. I would say the offerings are not particularly unique, but the executions are. The beans and potato salad were a bit unusual and were a bit visually unappealing, flavor-wise fine. I think of all the meats, the pork was the best. Ribs and pulled pork were cooked well. The tri tip had good flavor but tougher texture. Chicken was fine. The hot links were also fine. I think the corn bread was great, but not particularly special. The butter it came with was a bit fruity which was a nice surprise. The prices are pretty average for BBQ, which I would expect. They seem to sell out of things often, so make sure you come early to ensure you get what you want. Lots of places to sit, indoors and outdoors, and plenty of parking as well. The staff is very helpful and nice. Shout out to Samira and Jenny in particular. We had a large party that they catered. While there was a mix-up with an extra rack of ribs, they were very gracious in trying to make it up for us.

Fantastic BBQ place located on Freeport Blvd next to the river close to Consumnes River Blvd. When you first enter, there is the counter for placing your order, then you can take your choice from the plentiful indoor or outdoor seating in a rustic decor. I ordered the sausage(hot links), mac n cheese, collard greens and a Root beer, took my number and grabbed a seat (there is a nice selection of beers , but I was looking forward to the root beer ) Counter person was pleasant in taking my order. In short order my food was brought. Sausage was nicely sliced and had great flavor and just enough heat not to make me regret my choice. Collard greens were rich in flavor , with some broth and meat to accentuate the flavor. Macaroni and cheese was firm noodled, rich in creamy cheesiness. I also got some Tri Tip to bring home, it was a little on the peppery side but with the BBQ sauce, very tasty? Prices are good for this quality of BBQ, the service is excellent (staff walking by hellful in getting refills or to go boxes) Great option of your looking for BBQ in the South Sac area

Really good pulled pork and Mac and cheese. Ribs were good. Will definitely order these again if we are back in the area. Liked their original bbq sauce, sweet with a hint of smokiness. Had an awesome outdoor seating area. Great staff, there were super helpful and friendly. I definitely want to try their pulled pork fries next time. Things I would pass on next time are the tri tip. It was really dry and extremely peppery and I don't mind pepper at all, it was just a bit much. Noticed a lot of ppl like their tri tip. Maybe I just go a dry batch. Not sure, but I wasn't a huge fan. The sausage was simple with decent flavor. Everything tasted good when you added the bbq sauce to it. Cornbread was extremely crumbly. As soon as you cut into it just fell apart, but don't get me wrong it tasted really good. Overall a decent place.

Came here after a wedding as an intermediate stop. We had a drink and since we were going to the reception next. We didnt get to try their food, but it did smell really good. The place inside is abut small for the var, but still good for a few small groups. What is awesome about it, is the outside seating. Its great and super spacious. It seems you can play games and also be away from the main busy areas within sac. Would highly recommend going. They also have very clean restrooms with a shared sink area to wash your hands. So even if you dont need to use it, you can quickly wash your hands. Also the pricing seem fair for the drinks and food. So its a good date night, hangout night, or just catch a drink and some food alone.

We celebrated our friend's birthday for brunch on a Sunday and we arrived as soon as they opened. They were not too busy. You order food at the counter then find seating. Tons of seating outside in the front and in the back and inside the restaurant. We sat outside in the back and it was really pretty. We ordered the Smokehouse Burrito, The Birdie Sandwich, Breakfast Omelette, and Vietnamese Phin. The food was so delicious. I look forward to returning here.

Deep fried pickles and $5.00 beers. If that doesn't get you interested in Brody's restaurant, there's so much more! They have pulled pork sandwiches, wings, smoked sausages, trip tip, chicken, brugers, salads, and more! There's live music on Friday's, corn hole, great service, a friendly vibe, and a good selection of wine and beer. It's located off Freeport Boulevard, in Freeport, right next to the river. There's plenty of parking and plenty to fill your belly, and warm your soul.

I think we've found our new favorite bar! From the moment we walked in, we were treated like family. The service was absolutely outstanding, and Kanea, Jill (with a G!), and Adi went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We laughed, shared stories, and genuinely had such a great time. It's rare to find a place with not only great food and drinks but also a staff that makes the experience so memorable. We can't wait to come back--this is definitely going to be our new go-to spot!

Love the happy hour from 3pm to 6pm I believe with some of the food discounted and something available for everyone! I wish the seating was clean / wiped / sanitized more regularly as it felt sticky or food particles left behind on the tables and or chairs inside and outside, but other than that I did enjoy the experience! I would not recommend the dirty sodas as what we received was not how it was described, and rather than checking in to see if it's something we would still like, he made it without letting us know therefore we were not expecting what we received since that's not how it was described to us prior to ordering. The kind gentleman behind the counter was very friendly, patient, and welcoming. He provided us with menus and reminded us he can help us at the counter whenever we are ready. We tried the Mac and cheese, tri tip sandwich, and coleslaw. We look forward to coming back to try more of their food! Also plenty of parking around the corner at their overflow area. Games outside available! Next door is their secret bar SideDoor with bites, foods, games, drinks, and specials!

We stopped by here for dinner on a weeknight. Both parking in the front and overflow parking were filled. Luckily, there was one spot for us right in the front. Counter service. Place an order at the counter and grab your own seat. There are indoor and outdoor seating. Self serve water and condiments station. I decided on tri-tip sandwich no cheese and waffle fries. Tri-tip was a bit dry and they didn't put enough bbq sauce. The waffle fries was the best of the night. Side salad was nothing special. My bf and his friends got the smokehouse platter and beef rib. Customer service was great. Parking can be packed and tight.

I'm now a Brody's fan! The sandwiches are beautiful and taste even better. My daughter got embarrassed because I kept saying, "These sandwiches are beautiful!", getting a little louder each time. I wanted everyone there to acknowledge how beautiful they were. I'm a gardener and loved the flowers out front and the backyard garden. There are plenty of great photos of the sandwiches, (Did you hear? They are beautiful!), so I'll post a photo of the banana tree in the backyard.

Came by for brunch on a Sunday around 11am and was pleasantly surprised it wasn't too busy yet. They do have outdoor seating, which looked nice, but it was a bit too cold for us to enjoy that option. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted right away by a young staff member who was super friendly and welcoming. He asked if it was our first time (it was), gave us a quick rundown of how things work, and pointed us toward grabbing a menu and finding a table. The ordering setup is more of a walk up style, which personally isn't my favorite for a sit down brunch. I usually prefer to just settle in and be served but it didn't take away from the overall experience. The food is really what made this place stand out. I ordered the Birdie Sandwich and it was packed with flavor! the egg was cooked perfectly and everything just came together so well. It came with potatoes that were crispy and well seasoned, plus a small salad with a dressing that was honestly so good. We also tried the fried pickles, which were solid, especially with their ranch (it reminded me of that dill style dip from La Bou). The French toast was definitely on the sweeter side but really delicious and my daughters loved it. My husband ordered the tri tip omelette and enjoyed it as well. I also liked that they offer a "2 sides" option, which is a great deal. I went with waffle fries (super crispy) and a Caesar salad that was light and fresh. The Vietnamese coffee was spot on too. strong and perfectly balanced. The only thing that fell short for me was the beef rib we got to go. For the price, the portion felt pretty small compared to other local spots. That said, everything else we tried was really good and the service especially from that same staff member was attentive and genuinely kind. Overall, I'd definitely come back, just probably skip the rib next time.

Stand in line to order, grab your silverware, water and condiments. They still request a tip when pre paying! Hamburger was dry and overcooked. The extra charge for the fried egg was old " dry" on the burger. I asked for subside up and a runny yolk. Brody's was much better when they first opened. Now they have lost control of the food. Came in today on Sunday at 8:20 with my hunny to try Brody's for the first time. My hunny and I are regulars at Freeport Grill and always drive past it so tonight we decided we would switch it up and maybe find a new place to be regulars at. Walked in, was greeted and shown the 86 list. We mentioned it was our first time. Was given menus and as we were about to sit down one of the workers yelled out we're ONLY doing TAKEOUT! Ordered take out and we tried the sampler of ribs, tri-tip, pulled pork and sausage along w/the two sides picked of cornbread and potato salad. All but the pulled pork and potato salad was tasty and so was the barbecue sauce. Also, the sides were very small portions. The sampler fed three adults with leftovers. I went to Brodys for some Brisket this weekend and it was awsom. They cut the pcs kinda thick and it was very tender not real dry like some.I think its a little pricey but its hard to find good Brisket in sac.They gave me a pretty generous portion.I would recommend them for Brisket i havnt tried there ribs yet. read more

I feel like everyone has been hyping this place up on IG so I was dying to try it. The bbq was good but not the best I've ever had. We ordered the beef ribs, Tri tip, corn bread, and mac n cheese. My first night of Tri tip was very tough. The rest of it was pretty good but I doused it in sauce. I loved the spicy bbq sauce. I'm shocked by the beef ribs because you get two for $32. I'm giving 4 stars because I wasn't impressed but 3 others were. We had platter with ribs (that were hard to chew), sausage (2 loved because spicy) pulled pork n tri tip cornbread (asked for honey butter n was accommodated with butter with honey on top) apple (?) slaw n (spicy) beans Every thing clean, staff friendly but music sometimes a bit loud. Probs the best ribs in sac (if you can get them) They sell out quick. I guess scarcity is good marketing, but horrible and disgraceful promises. They still get a 4 star bc their ribs are that good. Get there early. And if you are the chef reading this, can you smoke more ribs, and if you don't sell out that day, make some ribs sandwiches the next day as a special. read more

Brody's went above my expectations from the second we drove up! Their spot is beautiful and they've made such a great space for gathering and eating in a very cute area of south Sacramento. Food was amazing and fast and service sizes were well above other local BBQ spots. Sides are where they really shine, we loved their corn bread, collard greens, fries, and Mac and cheese! But their meats were flavorful and tender and hit the spot too. Where they really shine is their service. We felt cared for and welcomed from the second we walked in to the last bite. Highly recommend taking the trip to Brody's, they're a must eat for Sacramento. read more

This place is a hidden gem. It's got a low-key stepping back in the Bayou vibe and the food is some of the best barbecue in the area. We've been here twice and both times Erica has assisted us. We had a great experience at Brody's. Full rack of ribs were slid off the bone. Pulled pork was delicious. Sausage were cooked well. I wouldn't recommend the SOJU cocktails as they were a bit sugary. read more

It took me a while to write this review.... Brody's has been me and my husbands favorite barbecue restaurant in all of Sacramento and we have been to many!! This is not your typical food review, this is something deeper... Brody's was our place to go every time after the gym. We were welcomed with open arms, and soon after greeted by our name and we instantly felt like family! Our dog bear, who was only 4 ,started getting seizures on January 3, 2025. He went from having one a month, to 20+ a day even after being on multiple medications. He couldn't sleep for five minutes without going into another seizure.. on May 23 we decided as a family to have to make the hardest decision we've ever had to make. I walked into Brody's to order bears last meal , I could barely get a word out as I was ordering his food. The gal at the front register immediately shared her condolences. She went in the back to get her manager.. and every employee came out and handed me bears last meal and gave me their condolences and prayers... as heartbroken as I was, I couldn't tell them how thankful I was for feeling the love that they gave me for bear. I walked outside to bear in the car, and the male employee came up behind me with a handful of bacon and gave it to bear, and gave us prayer hands and said that he was sorry and God bless us. My heart exploded with so many emotions, that was about to happen to our bear. Bear LOVED his ribs, chicken and bacon!! Which is crazy because he had stopped eating for a long time before.... Bear got his wings later that day. And we are thankful for the love that this company has showed us... we drive past Brody's all the time to take our daughter to school, only one thing comes to mind...... Bear. we know he is in a better place with a tummy full of yummy barbecue pain free. As a family. We cannot thank you guys enough.!! This world is tough alone as it is day in and day out. And I hope you guys know that that gesture that you gave me and my family that day will forever be embedded with us.. the world needs a lot more of that Love and I am forever grateful that I got to experience that in the most hardest time of my life. Below is a picture of our sweet boy bear. He now watches over us and the kids. We miss him forever and always... We would also like to introduce you to our new member of the family , who has helped pick up the pieces and move forward. Food was great. But company christmas party on the patio was freezing cold because only two heaters were working. Staff tried to get two other heaters working and even changed the propane canister on one heater that wasn't working. But their efforts failed. We couldn't enjoy ourselves because it was 53 degrees on the patio. The only people who stayed outside sat beside the two working heaters. If you're going to book the patio in cold weather, make sure the heaters work!!!! read more

Brody's did not disappoint. The portions were huge. The Dino Rib was amazing with a nice bark. It was smoked to perfection. I also loved the Mac and cheese and the chili was a nice surprise. Just come here. I've been to my fair share of BBQ places in CA and Texas. Besides my husband's BBQ of course, I would come here before I go to the new "highly rated" place in Elk Grove (rhymes with corn). Brody's has flavor in their food. When we asked for spicy BBQ sauce, that's what we got, when we ordered the sausage they reiterated it was actually a hot link and it was good! Also the waffle fries were great with some ranch of course. This place didn't disappoint and we will come back! After coming here a few times Ill share my experience with you all. I have never been to a restaurant where you can pay 3 different prices for the same item. Take to pulled pork sandwiches, its 13.95 - 17.95 and 20.95 depending what time of day you order it, the portions and the same, nothing extra comes with the more expensive meal. regardless the tri tip sandwich is pretty good, not amazing just good. my wife ordered the full rack of ribs, they were just ordinary, again nothing special. we had the cowboy beans, they were ok. We also ordered corn bread, 2 pieces for 7.00 (all the other BBQ places we go the corn bread is free) possible the worst over cooked dry cornbread we have ever had. we told the other people in line as we were leaving to not order it. The thing that was not cool for us is on both of our visits the owner was sitting at one of the tables with her laptop and spreadsheets talking to managers? and telling them about how much they had to pay certain staff and that they needed to charge more and about the money they were losing. etc. fine these conversations need to happen in business, but take it in the back room, don't make customers feel uncomfortable. The staff was very friendly the first trip, the second time the server girl had zero personality nor could care less about our needs. She never came to check on us or refill drinks. I usually give a place 3 try's before I form an opinion, this one Ii was able to do it in two. read more

First time trying Brody's BBQ and never had a Dino rib. Saw it on their menu and ordered it. First problem was the price,...., $38 for a single Dino rib!! Tasted good, smelled good,...., TOUGH as dry jerky!!! Not a single piece of meat on that rib was tender!! I'm no BBQ expert but, I'm sure it's suppose to be softer than that!! I might go back, but just to try all the other meats instead!!! read more

My husband and I have been searching for a new BBQ spot around Sacramento since our favorite one just closed down about a month ago. Brody's is about 35 mins from us, but we were excited to try it. We got there just before a rush of people around 12:15, just in time for their BBQ since it starts at 12pm. I ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich and my husband got the BBQ chicken plate with 2 sides: Mac and cheese and cornbread. We also tried the tri tip fries and each got a Bloody Mary. They have a ton of outdoor seating and the restaurant was clean. You have to grab all of your own utensils and sauces from their condiment station. We were a little disappointed when ordering. I wanted to add avocado to my sandwich, they said no. When asking why, the cashier just said "I don't think we can do that." And I was not able to change my side, I could only choose from waffle fries or a Caesar salad. Since we were already trying the tri tip fries, I got the salad and just tried some of my husband's sides. My husband wanted to try the ribs as well, and there was no option for a 2 meat plate, and he was not able to get just an order of ribs a la cart. We have seen a lot of BBQ spots offer a 2 meat plate option, so he was bummed that he could not do this. When the food came, everything was still really good. I was happy with my sandwich, the tri tip fries were good but the tri tip was a little on the dry side, and my husband's chicken was moist. His corn bread was probably my favorite out of everything we tried. It's a far drive for us, but we would definitely come back again. read more

Came here Saturday afternoon with a friend. We ended up getting the Smokehouse Platter so we can try a little bit of everything. Our favorites were the tri-tip & the ribs. Our waitress forgot our sides, and waiter was a bit confused on whose beer/cocktail went to what table. Very minor things when it's a new restaurant. With all things considered I would definitely come back. With decently priced bbq in the area it's hard to beat. It looks like they are building a patio area outside with few games which will be nice for group of family or friends. read more

I ordered a half pound of brisket, a sausage, beef rib, half rack of pork ribs, half chicken, Levi's burger and chicken tenders. Sides were Mac and cheese and potato salad. My only issue was the beef rib just wasn't tender. Flavor was all there but fat wasn't rendered down enough and it was tough. I think it just needed maybe another hour or two on the smoker to tenderize. For almost 60 bucks for a Dino rib i definitely expected perfection. I wasn't in any rush but it took about an hour and half for the food to come out after ordering. But it was busy and it's Father's Day so I get it but definitely a bit longer than I anticipated. Sadly the sausage I ordered was forgotten and I never got it, is what it is but definitely a bummer. I got the all fatty cuts of the brisket. It was okay but still a bit tough and sort of felt like it dried out sitting too long possibly. Again flavor was good but tenderness wasn't all there. Pork ribs were solid, sides were actually really good. Star of the show was the chicken for sure, tender Smokey and juicy. Waffle fries were elite too. My wife liked the burger though. Smash burger style with great flavor. My kids were stoked with all the fun available, Bloody Mary was awesome and beers were great. I'd definitely come back with the family but not sure I'd do brisket or Dino ribs again. But they nail the vibe for families. read more

Such a beautiful Saturday evening -- perfect for a BBQ outing at Brody's Restaurant! We arrived and the place was packed, so we headed to the bar to grab some drinks and enjoy the live band while the rest of our party ordered food in the dining area. The bar area was crowded and it was hard to tell where the line started or ended, but the atmosphere was lively and fun. Their happy hour is incredible: $5 beers and $4 well shots! You really can't beat those deals. The staff were super friendly, and Jenny recommended some of her favorites and they even have smaller portions deals at the bar. The tri-tip was incredibly tender, and the potatoes salad and waffle fries absolutely hit the spot. I came here this weekend for the first time to try Brody's BBQ and really enjoyed it. It was super busy when we visited, but the staff handled everything very efficiently and everything moved quickly despite the crowd. The Levi burger was really good and definitely something I would order again. The fries were okay, but still worth getting with the meal. The BBQ was very tender and delicious, and you can tell it was cooked well. What really stood out though was the hospitality. The bartender, Adi, made my family and me feel very welcome and was very attentive the whole time. Overall it was a great experience and we'll definitely be back. The manager, Jenny, and the crew always make sure we feel welcome. Was kinda down that the pork ribs and tri-tip were sold out, but Elvis recommended us to try the pulled pork sandwich and the chipotle maple wings, he even gave us cornbread because they were out of ribs and tri-tip. This matches Texas bbq all day! The chicken was so tender and just enough smoke. Their home made bbq sauce was . Cole slaw was fresh and very tasty. The little side salad, had a good citrus flavor and cut the fat perfectly. The start was the skin! Cool bbq vibe and clean restaurant, good music and staff super attentive and friendly. This time, the beef rib(always a win) was huge, the Mac had the perfect bite, the cornbread was moist and my husband really enjoyed the pulled pork fries. The staff was attentive and so kind.
