We came back here to try their burgers this time. The girl greeted us and said that the menus were here and we could go over to the counter and order when we were ready. I got the Levi's burger and added another patty. It was pretty good. I asked for the fries to be extra crispy and they were. My wife got the Freeport burger and liked it also. She had it before. The dinning area was clean but there were crumbs on the seats. Just a brush off and we sat down. Only one other customer there. Food was great! Amazing burger, cooked to perfection. Ambiance was great too, great live music and great layout, right next to the river, awesome! Now to the not so good... the bar. Holy hell, talk about lack of or perhaps totally inept service, spent a total of 25 minutes waiting next in line... for two beers. No delegation, despite having multiple bar backs, bartender/manager(?) couldn't remember a drink to save her life, had to ask her customers what they ordered 2, 3, sometimes 4 times (!) and still managed to get drinks wrong (there was a graveyard of miss poured drinks in front of the taps lol), could barely reach the taps (please get her a taller step stool), was doing dishes while she had customers... in front of the dish washer... and took zero responsibility and didn't apologized for anything. Mind you I witnessed all of this while being the only other customer next in line... twice. After waiting for 10+ minutes the second time, (and still not busy at all) she seemingly didn't know I was there the entire time because she started helping someone else (who seemed to read the room better than I) and just tried to slide his order in on her. I spoke up, told her I was next, and to her credit she got my order... but... gave me a hazy instead of a regular IPA. I didn't say anything about the beer as I wasn't about to keep waiting, gave her some honest feedback, paid, and walked out. Now for the cherry on top. After the delicious burger we wanted to try their dessert menu (unfortunately the banana cream pie was lackluster at best, tasted out of a box) and we decided to try to order a beer through the restaurant rather than the bar. We got and took our time finishing dessert, and wouldn't you know it, still no beer. Ended up just going in and canceling the beer order. Unbelievable, haha. At that point all we could do was laugh, while we probably would have stayed and had more drinks as we had the sitter longer, there was no way we were going to sit there to maaaaaybe get what we ordered... at some point... or risk her coming out to ask what we ordered... so we just went home. On the plus side we got a nice view of the river just a short ways from the restaurant. Hope to go back soon, but will definitely check the comments to see if the bar has been sorted first lol. read more

My friends and I had an early lunch on a Sunday. It's a trek to get there from my location but pleasantly surprised by how cute this place is. It has a rustic farmhouse but also elevated feel to the decor. We sat outside and it was a beautiful day with a nice breeze. The patio areas are nice. One side has some yard games to keep you occupied. The food was good - not the best but I ate it all and no complaints. It was filling. My friends said the same. My sangria was nice and refreshing. There's dinning room seating, and backyard (outdoor) seating. Food: First off, the bbq sauce (both regular and spicy) was so good! You can grab sauce off the counter and they are warmed up. The spicy isn't that spicy, but has a great enough kick. They have a variety for bbq, burgers, coffee, and more! I ordered the Dino rib with Mac and cheese and Granny Smith apple Cole slaw. My husband ordered the tri tip loaded fries. Everything was delicious. Their cheese was great on the fries and Mac and cheese. I loved how refreshing the Granny Smith Apple Cole slaw was, although I was missing the Granny Smith apples in it. Fries were crispy and the meat was fresh. I love how they decorated for the holiday season. The staff were really nice and checked in on us from time to time. We stood at the bar for literally 10-15 minutes without any acknowledgment whatsoever. When we were seated, there were two empty napkin containers on our table. The table also had plates left behind from previous customers, and not one employee came by to pick them up. The Mac and Cheese that was ordered for the table was never brought out. By the time all of our food was gone, we were still waiting for it. As for the food and drinks, I would not recommend the BBQ chicken sandwich. The tri-tip tacos were dry and plain. The Palomas were bitter and watered down, and the strawberry freeze was overly sour and tart. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with our experience. My family and I were there around 4:00 PM on a Saturday, which was not even during rush hour. There really was no excuse for the lack of service and attention to our table. read more

Barbeque is one of my favorite cuisines. However, finding good quality BBQ that won't break the bank is a challenge. That's why I'm glad to find Brody's. For proteins, I've tried their tri-tip, pork ribs and sausage. For sides, their Granny apple cole slaw, corn bread, ceasar salad, mac n cheese, cowboy beans and waffle fries were all top notch. I haven't had anything which I didn't like. We especially like to come during happy hour which is 3-6 pm Monday to Friday. It's $5 off their sandwiches, quesadillas and loaded fries. I usually get their tri tip sandwich for $13. Can't beat that! The restaurant has both inside and outside seating in a casual setting. You order at the counter and let them know where you will be seated. They will bring your food out to you. They have large communal tables in their outdoor patios. On some nights, they have live entertainment. Service has been outstanding. During our most recent visits, we were a group of 3 and the food arrived for 2, but the 3rd meal seemed to be taking a while. We flagged down a server to ask about it. It turns out that the wrong table tent number was written down on the order. The server brought the food out and added a huge cookie for the inconvenience. The last time we had dinner, the ribs my friend ordered were a bit dry. We told our server, Elvis, and he switched them out right away. For me, the difference between great vs good service is how a restaurant responds when service doesn't go well. They listened to our concerns and remedied the situation right away. The food is good but tri trip fries is cut up tri trip but not enough. Tri trip sandwich doesn't feel like the classic tri trip sandwich and more of a burger. Came here after wine tasting and was pleasantly surprised. Brody's has a bar side to the right and regular dining on the left. They also have outdoor seating on both sides. During the winter it's cover with tents and has space heaters. There's overflow parking across the street. This place can get busy. Pros: food is great. I love their tri tip, corn bread, and Mac and cheese. The family platter is great because you get a sample of all their meats. Cons: due to the limited indoor seating, big groups usually need to sit outside. During the colder months, it's too cold even with the heaters. I'm not a fan of their potato salad. We have been a handful of times and the last time we came by, it was about an hour before closing so it seemed that stuff had already started to wind down for the evening. A little unusual the way service was set but again probably due to the winding down of the day. Who knew we had a good BBQ spot not even 2 miles from my home??!! I'm really hoping this is not a hit and miss type bbq spot. Ok so I was out of town and my husband, who never really ventures out found this spot because 2 of the other bbq places that he frequents had closed down. He told me that the bbq was really good but I'm always skeptical bcuz he's one that will eat almost anything. Well he saved me 4 ribs. When I tell you this meat literally falls off the bone...I tell you no lies. The flavor of the rib is spot on. I added my own bbq sauce so I can't wait to go and try their own bbq sauce and other items on the menu. He said they liked the greens and Mac and cheese (none of that was left ). This was a last minute and spontaneous visit to Brody's which I never knew existed until I found it on Yelp of course . We were visiting family and it was Father's Day. It was extremely busy, we had to wait an hour to get our food. We didn't let that bother us since we were all in and committed to try out the food and drinks I read about on yelp.Obviously me writing a review is letting you know IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT!!! Everything about this restaurant was excellent the atmosphere, BBQ, hospitality, plenty of outdoor seating which are both sides of the restaurant also inside (after ordering grab your number and sit wherever there's an open space), clean restrooms , side door bar area which I was able to try another new draft beer I've never had before, this restaurant is for all ages. We originally found this place through my in-laws when we were coming back from winetasting and it does not disappoint. We love the smokehouse platter because it gives us a little bit of everything for up to four people. If you leave here feeling hungry, that's your fault. This place is definitely a hidden gem. Tiny parking lot might be a good idea to order Togo. We were headed back from Oxnard and had stopped at Harrison Ranch BBQ. Unfortunately there was a 30-40minute wait so we got back on the road. This was the setup for Brody's close to I5 with online ordering made it a good option. I ordered the BBQ platter which comes with 1/2 rack of tender smokey meaty ribs. The fat on the ribs could've been rendered more but no other complaints. The platter also included hot links with some real heat in them. Smokey tender tri tip and the juiciest pulled pork I have ever had. For sides I picked potato salad and coleslaw. The sides are way to small for the 4-6 people the meal is supposed to feed. A friend and I came stopped by Brody's not too long after it opened. We were wanting to try a new BBQ spot and couldn't decide where to go. After seeing different reviews on social media not to mention the food looked amazing we decided Brody's is the place to try out. When I arrived parking was a little difficult to get, but after waiting a few minutes I was able to park. I walked in and you get a menu and you order at the front. We dined in so they gave us a number. We ordered the platter to shared since it a great variety of meats and it also came with 2 sides if I remember correctly and we ordered extra sides. They have both indoor and outdoor seating if you're dining in. The inside is nice and cozy with ample seating as well as plenty of outdoor seating. The meat platter had brisket, sausages, ribs, pulled pork and our sides were cornbread, greens, Mac & cheese, cowboy beans and waffle fries. They are generous with the portions. I'm allergic to potatoes so I didn't try the fries although they looked crispy and delicious. The Mac & cheese was mid at best I would not order it again. The greens were pure perfection I ended up ordering more to go as well was the cornbread is amazing and I did order more of that I go as well. All the meat was delicious, juicy and flavorful. The cowboy beans were fantastic and ordered more to go. I was a big baby that day lol! The staff is great and told us about their brunch. I will definitely come back for that. My husband suggested we try place so we decided to go by to try it. Mainly for their Dino ribs because he knows I like beef ribs. I went by a little after lunch so there wasn't many people. We wanted to dine in but unfortunately my 2 year old just fell asleep in the car and we didn't want to wake him and decided to order to go. We ordered online and picked it up. Upon arriving, we noticed they had an outdoor seating which was super cute. Perfect for family with kids who needed to run around, especially on days like the day we went because there was no one there. They had a bar area which was closed at the time and another door to the restaurant. We ordered a Dino rib, half lbs of pork ribs and 4 sides (collard greens, potato salad, coleslaw and cornbread). The Dino rib was huge (even though it doesn't look like it in my photo), it was cooked perfectly, nice and juicy and that smoke flavor just took it a step above. The pork ribs were great too. Flavor wasn't overpowering the meat. I love the texture of both. The sides though, for me I feel like it was lacking a lot of flavor. The collard greens was the best one of the 4 sides we got.
