We found this place on TikTok so we were excited to go we love trying new places. We drove from Roseville. We were there at 6pm on a Wednesday. I decided I was going to get the pork ribs and pulled pork. But they were out they only had enough for a half a slab which my friend got. So I ended up getting tri tip and pulled pork and my friend got the half a chicken we got Mac and cheese and greens. The greens to me didnt satisfy the my cravings they were ok definitely needed more flavor. The Mac and cheese was super creamy had a little kick it it it was ok the pulled pork had a sweet flavor to it from the bbq sauce that they put in it. I will say the thing that I actually liked was the cornbread and the spicy bbq sauce that I used to dip my pulled pork in because I don't like sweet the place was quiet not a lot of people. Stopped by Brody's and was pleasantly surprised. The food was great, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the prices were very reasonable. They also have a solid beer selection, and the beer was both affordable and really good quality, which is hard to find these days. A big shoutout to Jenn for the outstanding service. She was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Customer service can make or break an experience, and Jenn definitely made it a great one. Stopped by again to try the BBQ since my last visit was just for a quick breakfast -- and wow! The Smokehouse Platter and Smoked Chicken Salad were delicious. The brisket was tender, the ribs perfectly smoked, and the cornbread and mac & cheese were amazing comfort sides. It was plenty for our family of four with leftovers to take home. Loved the outdoor seating -- such a relaxed, family-friendly vibe. The service was great too -- courteous and attentive even while the place was busy, which we really appreciated. Was really looking forward to bringing my kids here since I've seen so much on social media about it being super kid friendly, and we came on a Saturday at 4:30. It's got a really great outdoor area for kids to run around on grass and turf which is nice so they don't get too dirty playing in dirt. Also, pro tip, ordering drinks from the side door makes them half price! That was clutch. Now the bad: as I said, it was a Saturday before 5pm and they were out of ribs, tri tip, and brisket! What the hell is my whole family supposed to eat a a bbq spot when they're out of that? Pulled pork for everyone? It was really disappointing. And it was filling up like crazy as we were leaving so I felt bad for everyone going to miss out on all the meat. We ended up getting wings, hot links, fries, and some kids meals. I will say the kids burger came with two patties which seemed like the deal of the day (aside from the half priced drinks). The wings were pretty good and the hot link was actually really spicy! Good fries too and the fried pickles were awesome. All in all, the food was good, not great. The service was really good, the waiters were very apologetic about the food situation. The food was good and their spicy bbq was our personal favorite. I enjoyed the flavors of the meat. The ribs were our favorite. The pulled pork comes mixed with bbq sauce already which was a little sad for me because I would've liked to taste it without the sauce but it was still delicious. Mac and cheese and collard greens were decent. At first arriving there's a lot of doors and we weren't quite sure which one to enter first. My husband and I planned to share the smokehouse platter, but after we were seated, they let us know they had just run out of ribs (it was super busy, so understandable). They came back with several alternative options, and we ended up choosing two types of wings lemon pepper and BBQ (6 total). Everything was delicious. The pulled pork had so much flavor, my husband loved the sausage, and the tri-tip was smoked perfectly. The wings were packed with flavor, the cornbread was so good, and they even gave us a banana pudding cup to make up for the missing ribs which was a generous and thoughtful touch. If you blink while traveling south on Freeport Boulevard from Oto's Marketplace in Sacramento, you may miss the tiny town of Freeport, population 58 according to the 2020 Census. And a stone's throw away from the Freeport Bridge and the Bartley Cavanaugh Golf Course alongside the Sacramento River is some of the tastiest BBQ in the region, at Brody's Restaurant. My cousin will have his birthday in Japan later this month, so I took him out for early birthday at Brody's, which caught our attention on social media. Brody's did not disappoint. We ordered the $69.99 Smokehouse Platter: 1/2 Rack of Pork Ribs, 1/2 lb of Pulled Pork, 1/2 Lb of Tri Tip, two smoked sausages with two sides of your choice. Serves 2 to 4 people. Unfortunately, by the time we got there at 6:30 pm, they were sold out of their coveted pork ribs and slow-cooked brisket. So we substituted the ribs for some tasty chicken wings, half BBQ, half lemon pepper. To soothe my disappointment over missing the ribs and brisket, I ordered their Candied Bacon, and while it may not be the same as the world famous Millionaire's Bacon at the Bay Area's Sweet Maple, it was surely tasty enough for this bacon lover at $5.99 for four pieces -- half the price of Millionaire's Bacon. And Jenny the hostess did her absolute best to find us two sample pork ribs after all. They tasted great with or without their sweet BBQ sauce. (Pro tip: get there or order by 2 pm or they may run out of ribs and brisket). Their wings were also very delicious, the pulled pork mouth-watering and the tri tip quite succulent as well. Most definitely will be back for the slow cooked brisket and full slab of pork ribs (which at $38.99 is a relative bargain compared to a full slab in SF, which could run up to $60!). Don't sleep on Brody's yo. I'll have to make it one of my remote offices and meeting spots. BTW the Smokehouse Platter is much too much for two people, so two people will leave with to-go boxes. We recently checked out Brody's for breakfast and had a great experience. The outdoor seating area is fantastic & would be an awesome spot for a gathering, celebration, or just a relaxing meal with friends and family. The restaurant uses an order-at-the-counter setup, which was quick and easy, and everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. We ordered the tri-tip breakfast burrito, bacon omelette, and loaded pulled pork fries, and everything was delicious. The portions were very generous, and we definitely left satisfied. A fun bonus was that kids get a free scoop of ice cream, and it wasn't just a tiny sample, it was a surprisingly generous size! Unfortunately, we had to cut our visit short because our toddler was having a moment, but we enjoyed everything we experienced and will definitely be back. We've already recommended it to several friends and look forward to returning when we can stay a little longer and enjoy the atmosphere. read more

Went on Mother's Day 2026. I think the place is a cool concept (backyard BBQ feel to it). Got a Bloody Mary that wasn't bad. Did not really like the idea of waiting in line to order and get drinks. Especially for the price points. The portions did not really seem to line up with prices much either. I cannot really comment on the taste of the food because there was a mix-up with my order.
