Yes! Soup , salad, entree and our famous garlic bread. All the same way we cooked 40 years ago.

All accompanied by an Aperol Spritz, because hydration is important. It's also only a couple of blocks off Catalina Ave., close enough to the action without being swallowed by it. Bettolino has become my go-to Italian in the South Bay. I've never been disappointed here, and I have considerable experience being disappointed. Cheers!

The short ribs were truly melt in your mouth, easily twisted on the fork with the tagliatelle. Amazing sauce, heavily supported by the mirepoix. The skirt steak was a little harder to chew, not sure if it was the juxtaposition between the two dishes, or if it factually was that way. The risotto however was great! A strong mushroom flavour with some spinach sprinkled on. The garnishes made it a wonderful adventure to eat. You could tell most of the customers were regular, but on that note, if you are ever in the area, give it a shot!

We started with the meatballs and Caesar salad. The meatballs had a crisp sear outside that gave way to a soft inside. So good with the tomato sauce and arugula. The Caesar had a touch of spiciness and was dressed with toasted bread crumbs, a nice touch. I had the bolognese. It was tender and meaty and the pasta had the right amount of bite. This was even great leftover the next day. The Meyer lemon pie was the perfect closer. DineLA was the right call to bring me in to to try this gem of a spot.

First off, the service was almost insulting. We had early reservations, so I don't think they were overly busy yet, but you wouldn't know that by our server. For all we know he could have been the Italian owner of the restaurant, and if that was the case, that made it even worse. Barely a greeting, no explanation of the specials, just a cheap plastic sleeve one would buy at Staples office supply thrown onto our table. He found our questions about the menu bothersome, and when I asked him about one item, he wrote it down as if I'd ordered it. Luckily we caught his error when I told him what I wanted for dinner and he said, "So you don't want the lasagna?" Um, no, I was just asking a question about the lasagna. We both ordered our meals along with the Heirloom Burrata appetizer. We asked if there was any bread with the appetizer, and he said no, so we asked for a bowl of bread to have with the burrata. It didn't show up, and we had to remind him. It finally arrived with our pasta. Oh well. My wife had ravioli stuffed with crab and lobster. She barely touched it and couldn't have been more disappointed. I told her to send it back, but she doesn't like confrontation. I had the cannelloni, and I have to steal a line I heard from another table: "This tastes like the stuffed shells I buy from Costco." It really did. I guess the pasta is homemade, but you sure couldn't tell from this dish. They came and picked up the dish without commenting on how little my wife had eaten. They asked if we wanted dessert, and, clearly expecting a no, plopped the bill down in front of me. We paid, yes we tipped, and immediately walked a few doors down to get my wife something to eat for dinner. We will never go back.

Then came the Nutella calzone, and that alone is worth the visit. Warm, perfectly baked dough with Nutella inside that melts just right. Sweet, indulgent, and honestly one of the best dessert calzones I have ever had. Also the best and most polite service, wonderful people. I have had a lot of pizza around Los Angeles, and this is easily one of the best I have tried. If you are in Redondo Beach and appreciate real quality pizza, this place is a must. I've always wanted to come and eat here. The restaurant always looks like a cute little spot with its lights on at night. I would always pass by it while on the way to eat at a different location. I must say though that my experience here was a little disappointing. When my party of 3 (including myself) walked in there was a party of about 5 that had just walked in before us. The waiting area once you walk in is quite small. As we were waiting to be seated another party of about 4 people were waiting behind us. The party in front of us were seated after a few minutes and my party was waiting to be seated next. After a couple more minutes of waiting a younger worker in glasses walked up to us and rudely asked who was next. I thought that the fact that my party was standing in the front would speak for itself (common sense and all) but apparently it didn't to him. My friend told him that we were. Apparently he either didn't understand or he didn't like her answer because he asked 2 more times. My friend told him again, clearly, that we were. Tell me why he sidestepped our party and asked, yet again, who was next to the party that was standing behind us? The woman told him that they had walked in behind us and that we were already waiting. Finally that seemed to appease the worker in the glasses as he finally walked us towards a table to be seated. The first thing I noticed when my party was settling into the booth was that the cushion on the side that I sat on was ripped and they had taped it. Now I understand that furniture gets damaged but for some reason it felt like we got seated at the "shitty" table, that was closest to the kitchen and kind of isolated from every other seat/booth. After a while the waitress came to introduce herself and she brought out a water carafe with cups. She explained how the plates work (a la carte or in a combo with soup and salad). We had been sitting there for a while so were ready to order. I'm not sure why but our food took quite some time to come out. The party that was behind us received their appetizers/starters right away. Then they received their actual food, even though we had ordered before them. Another party that walked in some time afterwards were also served their food orders before us. After what seemed like a very long time our soup came out and then our salads. Eventually our dinners came out. We finished our drinks quite some time before receiving our food and the waitress passed by numerous times and glanced at our table and the only reason why we got refills was because I stopped her to ask for them. As I watched her and other servers at other tables they were all on top of the other customers. Our waitress had even served another table with water goblets (nicer cups than our table) and was refilling their cups with cold water without even asking them. It seems like our table and one other had the water carafe and regular cups while the others had the nicer water goblets and were given refills. Regarding the food, the minestrone soup was good. It was flavorful. The salad was ok. They said they make their own dressing from scratch but it was a little too tomato-ish for my liking. The lasagna was also good. One of the members of my party got a combination plate that brought 3 items so that he could try out different things and I thought that they would be a smaller serving but they were a good size. My lasagna plate was only slightly larger than his and his plate was a way better deal for only a dollar more. All in all my experience here was confusing. I feel like right off the bat we started off with a very rude worker. We waited a long time for our food but when it came it was good. I think that I would give this place another chance. If I received the same level of service I would definitely not return again but if it was different and the service stepped it up (and we weren't met with rudeness from the beginning) then I could see myself as a repeat cuatomer. read more

As a kid growing up in the south bay I went to Brogino's every year or so. Fast forward 15 years, and I decide to bring my wife in with me for a romantic dinner. A great location and easy to find parking. Our server was unattentive. I think she was working in the bar as well as the tables. There was maybe one other couple in there for dinner at 7 PM on a Friday night. Was odd...felt like I didn't get the word that this was no longer a good place to dine. It was hot on this particular day in August 2009, so they had the air conditioners running. By air conditioners, I don't mean forced-air systems you'd have in most newer buildings or homes, but rather the self-contained style you'd hang out a window. They had two of these running, and they were very loud. What's more, one of them was leaking inside the restaurant, and when I brought it to the attention of the staff, no one seemed to care. With the exception of the ministrone soup and bread, the rest of our meal was sub-par. I was hoping this was a fluke...could the Brogino's that I had such fond memories of really be that bad? I had to give it another chance. I returned about a month ago when it was much colder. The air conditioners were off, so you could hear the nice music playing inside the restaurant. I again went on a Friday night. To my surprise, I had a different waiter, but he was just as unattentive as my last visit, and non surprisingly, the food was sub-par once again. This restaurant is a gem in the South Bay! My husband and I have been enjoying food there for years. Our favorites are the traditional Lasagna, the Rib-Eye steak and the Chicken Piccata. I've ordered Chicken Piccata from many restaurants throughout the years and Brogino's definitely stands out as the BEST! The staff has always been extremely courteous and accommodating. They have placed tables outside during this pandemic to provide a safe-spaced dining experience during these difficult times. Michael Boutis, the manager for 14 years has been incredibly helpful in choosing menu items for myself and the guests I dine with over the years. He's great with wine pairings and words can't even describe how incredible his martinis are! He does a spicy one that blows my mind! Everyone there is doing a great job to create and maintain a safe and friendly environment not only during this pandemic, but for years. read more

I always stop at Brogino's when I am in Southern California. I love the ambiance of this family run italian restaurant. The little twinkly lights and cool decorations make this place special. The service is warm and friendly, especially if you get a chance to meet the owner ,Tony Brogino. Now the food .. be sure to get the complete meal with soup and salad ... homemade and served family style. Best garlic bread in town, made fresh every day. My favorite is the Chicken and Mushroom sauce, I ask them to subsitute the pasta with the spinich fetticini .. perfection! The chicken cesar salad is another favorite and don't forget the italian stir fry (unique but really good). My husband loves the chicken parm.or the Oso Boco. I had such a great experience at Brogino's in Redondo Beach. When you walk in, it's cute, mom and pop kind of décor and feel, but very personal. It seems like the servers know everyone that comes in, and tries to get to know the new comers as well. I had amazing service. I was given wonderful recommendations by a very sweet bubbly waitress, who by the way made me the BEST martini I've had! You have to try the Pear Martini, it was great! I had the chicken sardaigna, it was rich and just delicious! The prices were very reasonable, and I had food for days. The portions are huge, the drinks are on point, and definitely better than anything you'll find at larger places around town. The staff is wonderful. I cannot wait to come back and visit. read more

Talk about ambiance, service and delicious food? You're talking about Brogino's! And being greeted every time I walk in like I'm "part of the family" adds so much to the dining experience. To add, their wines are delicious and, when I'm celebrating, the martinis are the BEST - and BIG! Here, they do little things that mean a lot, and that are not done by other restaurants. Salads are served on a cold plate, steaming hot soup is served to you at your table from a large pot. There's even a special birthday horn blown by staff when it's your birthday. If you haven't been here before, you're missing out. And when you do come, I bet you'll feel like part of their family, too. :) read more

Brilliant. I had visited Broginos a year ago on a whim with my sisters and after that experience it was my birthday dinner choice. The staff is kind and genuine, offering sincere advice when ordering and the Martini Master behind the bar knew his stuff. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Bay Area as a wonderful establishment where food and service is equal in perfection. My search for a truly authentic Italian restaurant led me to Brogino's, and I'm so glad it did! From the moment we walked in, we felt like we were part of the family. The atmosphere is charmingly quaint, and the food is absolutely incredible. What really sets this place apart, though, is the service. I've been to Broginos with my family on many occasions. Such warm, friendly people who go out of their way to make you feel like you're part of the family. Was so happy to see them open and now with outdoor seating, they haven't missed a beat. The best martinis in the South Bay for sure. Some of my favorite dishes: Chicken Sorrento, Lamb Ossobuco and a terrific Pesto(I usually ask them to add chicken). this wonderful restaurant has great features including the appearance. The beautiful Xmas lights, the pictures, some even in the lights even some pictures of the owners family members it makes the room feel like a real Italian welcoming home. This place has awesome and friendly bartenders and servers. The food is super good and nice and warm when it gets to the table. There tables are spacious and great for large party crowds which they accommodated my lunch party. The margarita pizza is my favorite and the salad is fresh. read more
