Ella baila cocktail and spinach dip in the background
    Beverly U.

I really wanted to like Broken Spirits, but unfortunately this visit missed the mark for me. I ordered the tri-tip sandwich and it was very tough -- not tender or easy to bite into at all. The redskin potato salad tasted like straight mayonnaise with little to no seasoning or flavor. The baked potato was honestly disappointing -- just split open with a heavy scoop of sour cream in the middle and no salt, no pepper, no butter flavor, nothing. It felt unfinished and not thoughtfully prepared. The Asian salad was also confusing and came with three huge circular slices of orange that didn't make sense with the rest of the ingredients and threw the flavor balance off. The one bright spot was the spinach and artichoke dip -- that was genuinely good -- but the crostinis served with it tasted stale. My cocktail was very average and didn't stand out. On top of that, the decor and overall ambiance felt strange and not very cohesive, which made the experience less enjoyable. The service also didn't help -- our server felt rushed and somewhat rude, and I didn't feel welcomed during the visit. Overall, it just wasn't the experience I expected, especially with so many great dining options in the area. I probably wouldn't return.

    Fantastic cocktail with pineapple foam

Super cute inside and was decorated so well for the theme! We visited for weekend brunch when they used to do it during the Halloween season. Everything was yummy and the drinks were amazing! Obsessed with the pineapple foam! Service was nice and everything was great.

Surprisingly, I like this place. Food was great a drinks were amazing. our server was amazing also! She was very attentive and honestly considering it wasn't too busy, we had the best service. I would definitely recommend it's a small world aeperol and also the tacos! I actually was recommended here by someone else and it did not disappoint.

I live in San Diego,so a couple times a year,I go either to Disneyland or Knotts and I decided to check out Broken Spirits for dinner. It is a Disney/Haunted Mansion/Nightmare Before Christmas themed bar and restaurant. The food is very good.Had a brisket sandwich with homemade potato chips. And I was in time for happy hour,so I got 2 cocktails for $12,which was a bonus. Take time to check out all the cool decorations and paintings.

Love this place! Everything was so good and I loved the Disney theme! The drinks and food was really good and we were seated in a cute 2 seater table by the front door, next to the window. The staff was really nice and made the experience even better. We started with It's a Small World Aperol and it was so good! Loved the Disney design! Then we ordered the crusted warm brie and jam. OMG, so good! We ordered the ribeye, baked potato, mac and cheese and the bbq brisket pizza. Our meal was fairly priced and a pretty good value. I will say that parking can be tricky. After circling around for a while, we scored parking right in front of the restaurant on the sidewalk. Carve out extra time for parking.

This place is so cute and the food is amazing. Place took us in with our reservations and the host was super friendly. Our waiter was so nice and helped us out with some amazing food choices. We didn't get a chance to try the muscles and the pork belly, so we will definitely be going back.

It's so easy to miss this place, next to the villains brewery, since it does not look like an actual restaurant and just looks like a random house. They share the same small parking lot, which was fine on a Sunday night but probably challenging on a Friday or Saturday. The decor inside is a bit confusing and seemed not really on point, seemed like someone just threw in a bunch of stuff together. The server was new and didn't know much about the place, but he was very friendly and attentive. The house is huge and not even half was filled so I hope people will find this place. I was really surprised that the food was actually good. The pizza slices are loaded and tall. I got the tacos and it looked not too appealing and kind of oily but honestly, it tasted so good and flavorful, it was delicious, I would go back for those tacos. Other friends also mentioned the food was really good.

We loved the Disney theme. The food was delicious. And we definitely loved the Signature cocktail.

Came in on two separate occasions to try this place out during end of August and again around mid October. I will say that the difference comes down to how busy they get. If you go in October, there is a wait to get your food and drinks. To me that was not a huge deal breaker as we went in a group and had a great time passing the time chatting away. Versus if you go a different month or when they open it's not as busy. Our server both times was Sierra (hopefully I spelled her name correctly) she is absolutely incredible. Despite being busy she checked in on us frequently and apologized for it being so busy. She's absolutely amazing and made our dining experience memorable. The drinks here are amazingly delicious and will certainly creep up on you. Highly recommend the it's a small world aperol drink, which is the drink with the cool designs. The appetizer are all amazing and you can't go wrong with any of the option. The buffalo chicken dip is spicy and savory. The artichoke spinach dip is creamy. But as a fellow Brie lover my favorite appetizer is hands down the crusted Brie and jam. Definitely worth it. As far as the food goes, my favorite is pepperoni pizza slice. It really hits the spot and is even shareable if you want it as a "appetizer" or just all to yourself. I also tried the smoked brisket grilled chimi-cheese and I will say it was very hearty and delicious. Paired with homemade chips definitely made this dish definitely worth trying. Overall, this place is amazing and definitely worth trying. I will note to avoid sitting under a vent as it can get very cold. Parking here can be hit or miss as it is limited. Other than that, definitely worth checking out. Especially for all the photo ops available throughout the restaurant. And of course for the awesome happy hour specials Monday through Friday from 2-6 p.m. and nightly from 9 p.m. to close!

This is an updated review since my last visit last year around this time. Parking was still bad. I checked the small parking lot next to Broken Spirits before proceeding down Water to find parking a few blocks from the restaurant. I see signs encouraging people to take the FRAN to get around, which I had to look up because I do not live in Anaheim and not familiar with it. Apparently it is a public micro-transit that provides people with free rides around the Anaheim Packing District areas. We ordered a slice of the pepperoni pizza, a spinach artichoke dip, a ghost host drink, a mai tai drink, a smoked bbq birria tacos plate, a baked potato, and an ube cheesecake. The spinach artichoke dip came with super chunky pieces of artichoke that I had to cut down a bit more and wasn't as hot (temperature-wise) as I'd like. But other than that, it was tasty.

We went to a special chef's 5 course tasting that was advertised on the Resy app for a kid-less date night. The outside is cute and is located right next to villains brewing. Parking is awful! So be prepared to street park or uber. We were offered welcome drinks upon check in and were showed our seats upstairs. The decorations for Halloween was a nice touch. The courses we had: aguachile scallops, stuffed squash blossom, butternut squash ravioli, lamb lollipop, tri tip w/ baked potato, and bread pudding. I wish we sat next to other people who also did the tasting menu to make it more intimate, but we were sat next to regular dinners. The pacing in between meals was a little slow but our server was great. I also wish the chef came out to go through the menu since it's a chefs tasting.

Happy hour is so clutch here! Hubby wanted to grab dinner on a Saturday night so we made reservations. We were pleasantly surprised they had happy hour starting at 9pm. Drinks are buy one get one free on wines and specialty cocktails but must be the same drink. That was totally okay with us! Otherwise they also have happy hour 2-6pm and 9pm to close every day. We started with the tragic kingdom which was delicious, loved the rum and the banana liqueur. As an appetizer we had the spinach artichoke dip. It was delicious but would have preferred chips instead of baked crostini's. My hubby loved the brisket tacos. I just ordered a side of Mac n cheese which was solid enough. Overall, service was on point and kind. Food was pretty good too. I would definitely come back again. The aesthetic of the restaurant is cute too as it is in an old town home in downtown Anaheim with a spooky decor inside.

    It's A Small World
    Raven R.

This place has a fun, dark Disney vibe that's perfect for spooky season. The staff is very welcoming and we were seated right away. We started out with drinks. They have a variety of themed cocktails so expect some difficult choices. We got the It's A Small World and Ghost Host. For food, we got pepperoni and mushroom pizza and baked brie and jam It's A Small World- I gotta say, they are generous with alcohol. This drink has an aperol base with strawberry and lime flavors. Strong and refreshing! Love the artwork on it as well. Ghost Host- This drink comes with a tarot card so enjoy your reading! The main flavors are hibiscus and lime. It has a smoky finish that complements the strength of the cocktail. Pepperoni Pizza- This is sicilian style pizza so it comes in a thick, square cut. It has a cheesy base with a generous amount of meat. Mushroom Pizza- Base crust is crispy with a good amount of gooey cheese and earthy mushrooms. The flavor is enhanced with greens. Topped with creamy burrata and finished with fried onions. Baked Brie and Jam- Brie is served warm and gooey. The flavor is indulgent and buttery. The jam adds a contrast of sweetness. Served on crunchy crostini. Great experience overall!

The hours say 5:30pm and onward, wanted to know if they had a weekend brunch and how to make reservations?

Broken spirits is connected to Villains and there is a brunch served in the space between the two facilities. No brunch reservations through Broken spirits, check out Villains website. Also call about the hours because both places have posted hours…

Is the Haunted Mansion decor still there ? Or was that only for Halloween?

Its still there that is the central theme of the restaurant

    Is it handicapped accessible?

Yes, the first floor is accessible. There is a ramp to enter.

    Do we need reservations?

    No but recommended

    Is it kid friendly?

It is, as long as the kid is well supervised. The brewery next door is even more kid friendly however for those littles that periodically need a little time out of their seat.

I used to work here years ago so I know how much care goes into the food & drinks. The Puesto Perfect Margarita is still my favorite margarita I've ever had. Everything is made fresh & you can absolutely taste the difference. I always order mine with a sugar rim. It's consistently refreshing, balanced & incredibly smooth. We stopped by on a Monday around 4:30 p.m. just before happy hour ended. It was nice & relaxed when we arrived. It only started getting a little busier as we were leaving. We took advantage of happy hour & ordered a few favorites. The potato taquitos have been one of my go-to menu items for years & are just as delicious as I remembered. Crispy on the outside, flavorful inside & served over a generous bed of fresh guacamole that makes every bite even better. We also tried one of the newer happy hour items the short rib mini burrito served with a green sauce. Both my husband & I really enjoyed it. The short rib was tender & the sauce added the perfect amount of brightness. I was happily snacking on the chips with the molcajete salsa. It's one of my favorite restaurant salsas. I also love the chips with Puesto Perfect guacamole. It makes it hard to stop eating. Since it was my birthday I treated myself to a Tropical Candy Shot. If you like bold flavors definitely order one. It reminded me of a Mexican street candy in shot form with a Tajín rim & a pineapple garnish. It was festive, flavorful & the perfect birthday treat. The sweetest surprise of the evening was the complimentary birthday dessert. A slice of pistachio tres leches cake. I love tres leches but I've never had a pistachio version before. It was incredibly moist & rich without being too heavy. The pistachios added the perfect crunch & nutty flavor. It was one of the highlights of the meal. One small detail I always appreciate is that they bring a pitcher of water to the table. This makes it easy to refill your glass throughout the meal without waiting. It's a thoughtful touch that makes the dining experience feel more comfortable. I'm so glad we came back after not visiting for quite a while. I love the consistently amazing margaritas, delicious happy hour menu, & warm hospitality. The thoughtful birthday surprise made it even better. It was a wonderful way to celebrate. I'll definitely be back! If you're visiting for the first time do yourself a favor & order the Puesto Perfect Margarita & potato taquitos. Also save room for the pistachio tres leches if it's available.

(The Anaheim packing district has private parking and it's easy to find a spot during the week. On the weekend, it's another story) You basically run right into the hammer bar when you enter from the main entrance. It's nothing fancy, gives off hipster vibes and is cool without trying to be cool. The two bartenders Josh and Xavier were amazing I came here around prime lunch time. I went and asked one of the bartenders, since they do not serve food if it was ok to bring some pastries inside and eat them with my drink. (There's a pastry place right next to the hammer bar) They said since it was a weekday and not busy I could bring something in. So I went and grabbed some food and sat there while drinking my drinks. They have bar seating and then they have hightop tables as well I asked them for some recommendations. Josh and Xavier both recommended The zombie (kept warning me that it was extremely strong. So I stayed away from that. Even though I'm confident I could handle it) The banana clip The pool noodle (I told them I needed it to be pretty / cool looking too, lol) I went with the pool noodle -Plantaray Pineapple Rum, Rhum J.M. AND, let me tell you, this was delicious AND looked amazing 10/10 Then I went with the banana clip- Old Forester 100 Proof Bourbon, banana, mandarine, cinnamon, pineapple and lemon. 10/10, I loved it To be honest all the drinks sounded great. If I wasn't planning on going to other places and walking around the packing district, I would have just stayed at this bar and had a few more lol. Prices were extremely reasonable as well The service that Josh and Xavier provided was phenomenal 10/10. They were friendly and knowledgeable. They answered all the questions I had They also have mocktails, beer and wine. I highly recommend coming here for a drink if you are coming to the Anaheim Packing district. Or stay here for a while. I could have definitely stayed longer and tried more. I'll definitely be back next time I am in the area (On the menu it says they offer gift cards.
