Gloria our water refillable with having to ask! THANK YOU
    Alicia C.

Upon entering I was greeted and seated by Aubrey. Not only did she recommend a few items, she was so patient with us as we were still deciding. Gloria came by gave us waters, as we waited for our Mimosas flight. She was happy and full of smiles. I ended up with a bowl of chicken tortilla soup, and hubby had golden fries, steak & Benedict eggs. I wish my bowl was a bit bigger,I was still hungry. Luckily my hubbys plate was huge so he shared! Overall experience, it was great! I know on Sunday,it was packed, but they still gave us great customer service all staff were super friendly from hostess,to waitress, water gal,and bus boy. It just shows how appreciate they are that people patronize their establishment. It was clean, very festive, and the ambiance was delightful, I would come again. Thanks again for our great experience.

Earlier today, I went to eat here with my grandmother and had a lovely experience! Service was incredible all around, especially from our server, Maria! She was warm, welcoming, and took care of us. She also was informative on how we could earn points through the Broken Yolk Cafe app. Food wise, I always love a delicious country fried steak, eggs, & hash browns, and it didn't disappoint! Portion sizes are generous. My grandma also enjoyed her food for breakfast. Ambiance was nice and luckily, it wasn't too busy. We will continue eating at broken yolk (dine-in and ordering delivery).

Everything was pretty good at this Broken Yolk location. We have been to several other locations and this one so far tops them all. Overall, we were satisfied with our visit and would come back again. We decided to give them 4.5 stars (half star deducted based on some minor misses). Read below for a breakdown of our experience at this Carlsbad location. Service: 5 / 5 stars Host was friendly with good energy and who promptly seated us within a minute after arrival. Our server was also friendly and efficient, quick to take our orders and provided us with extra requests. Back kitchen staff were also efficient and promptly brought out our food still warm and fresh. Food and Drink: 4 / 5 stars We ordered two types of short stack pancakes with a protein side. For drinks we ordered one of their winter specialty iced lattes and black coffee. Water glasses were clean and served as requested (iced and no ice). *Banana Pancakes: Fluffy and soft with sliced bananas mixed in the batter and also as a topping along with a small scoop (silver dollar-sized) of whipped dairy topping. *Lemon Ricotta Pancakes: Also fluffy and soft topped with fresh blueberries, lemon slices plus sprinkled with lemon zest and light dusting of confectioner's (powdered) sugar as well as the usual small whipped dairy topping. A short stack has two medium (almost dinner plate-sized) pancakes which was pretty big and impressive; it was satisfyingly tasty. It was unclear if butter was brushed on since we could not taste it, there were no visible pats of butter and none came with it or offered to us. Each pancake dish came with a shot glass-sized syrup (generic and not maple) which was lightly sweet and neutral tasting. The whipped dairy topping did not taste like 100% real whipped cream but rather an alternative (oil based) dairy topping. There was a bottle of sugar-free syrup already on the tabletop along with assorted jams/jelly and the standard sugar packets, salt, pepper and ketchup. *Sides (Standard serving of 2 of each type): Bacon (2 slices) was pretty standard, crisp and almost bordering on chewy; it was not greasy or overly salty. Eggs over easy and poached eggs were perfectly cooked with the yolk still runny. Hash brown was a good portion size and was lightly crisp. Drinks: 4.5 / 5 stars Black coffee came in a standard 8oz ceramic mug and tasted fresh and hot but refilled only when asked. Iced peppermint mocha latte topped with the same whipped dairy topping and chocolate drizzle was a let down and was served with the syrup dripped down the sides making the glass somewhat sticky; it was very light on coffee, mocha or peppermint taste and was much more a watered down latte version. It was very disappointing as this was the drink we were most looking forward to tasting. Unfortunately, we would not order it again...definitely a hard pass. Ambiance: 5 / 5 stars Restaurant was not full although there was a fair amount (almost half) of diners already there and frequent enough coming and going. Noise levels were as expected and nothing was distracting. The space was clean, bright and orderly. Good positive energy by staff all around. Plates, utensils, tables, condiment containers and menu were all clean. We appreciated there were no drips or sticky residue on the ketchup and syrup bottles.

As a gluten free eater, you really can't go wrong with a Broken Yolk and the location in Carlsbad is no exception! I highly suggested either the gluten-free pancake or get a gluten-free Belgiun waffle (just let them know if you have sensitivity). There are also omlettes or oatmeal if you're gluten-free. Our experience was awesome from start to finish. Brought my team for a work brunch and we had a great time. The service from our waitress, Andrea, was fantastic! She handled my gluten-free Belgium waffle order with grace. My coworkers' food also looked delicious. We were even greeted by the owner! If you haven't been to a Broken Yolk in a while, I couldn't recommend this location more for both yummy brunch and lovely service.

Danielle (Manager) was SUPER friendly and welcoming and made my son and I feel really welcomed and that we were eating with family. All the staff was very helpful and the food was delicious!

To me, the food was 3.5 to 4 stars. I ordered the thai and basil soda mocktail which was super refreshing and not too sweet! The spicy tuna and crispy rice was really good! I ordered the harvest bowl ($26) and added 3 oz. of steak for an additional $15. I didn't think that was a good value for roasted veggies and a small portion of steak. Some of the steak was extremely chewy as well. My friend said the hot honey chicken sandwich was good but there was a lot going on. I did take a bite of the molten butter cake while it was hot and fresh (I ordered it to-go) and the caramel really elevated the cake. Five stars for ambiance and service. The vibe here was smart casual. I did enjoy the aesthetic. Service was A+ with Emily. The manager came over a couple of times to make sure we were comfortable which was super sweet! I would definitely return. I really want to visit for brunch one of these days!

I usually order an iced matcha latte with oat milk and a Sweet Toast inside the market, then when I'm ready I switch to a cup or two of hard kombucha, which always has ingredients plucked from the farm, depending on what is seasonal. Everything is always delicious and delightful. Service at this walk-up coffee area is friendly. There is plenty of seating outside, in the front or back of the open-air market, and lingering for hours is encouraged. I like taking a walk around the perimeter farm while I'm there as well. There is an apothecary and a brewery on the premises, as well as a coffee roasting area. This part of the farm always seems to be closed for a private event, but that just adds to the bustling and community atmosphere. There is a couch area with a fire pit (and one in the back) in addition to the assortment of tables, a huge grass area and a natural (wood) climbing structure for kids to play, and sometimes they have live music there. There are always families and Encinitas locals hanging out and enjoying all that this place has to offer. There is a pizza stall in front of the market, as well as Huerta Tacos stand in back. Hours for these vary depending on the day. Both are not cheap, but the food is fresh and delicious, made with quality ingredients and interesting flavors. I sometimes treat myself to either, depending on who I'm with or what time of day it is. There is also a restaurant upstairs, and I have eaten there once, but prefer coming to hang at the Harvest Market and getting my food and drinks there. I live in the Vista/Carlsbad area, but it is worth the 20-25 minute drive to come hang out here for the afternoon!

Nice filling, healthy snack. The market has a variety of fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers, including edible ones, a small Café with hot and cold, freshly made drinks, including the option of ones with vegan plant milk, as well as a small baked goods case full of vegan cookies and muffins. Nice selection of interesting drinks, including Matcha & Ube. A nice selection of vegan items for sale. This very modern up scale barn is on a spacious property with ample outdoor hard seating, including individual chairs, both metal and wood picnic tables with benches, hardwood Adirondack chairs around a large fire pit in the back. If you prefer soft seating like me, there are only a few on the property, a couch by the outdoor fireplace inside up in the restaurant and balcony. The outdoor pizza kitchen has a variety of made to order cooked in front of you pizzas including vegan (must ask for vegan cheese substitute) or gluten-free egg, white and cauliflower crust. The Cook said most of the pizzas can be made with the vegan cheese. Included a few nice options with pesto sauce, truffle, mushroom, and more. After seeing a few come out out of the oven with the bubbled crust, I'm looking forward to returning and giving one a try. It seemed to be the favorite menu item of the outdoor diners, as the tables were full of them. Parking is on a dirt and gravel stretch so skip the sandals and flip-flops & wear closed toed tennis shoes. There are walking paths around the properties so you can get in a nice stroll before having a nibble and a drink. The path around the property you'll see their crops of produce and flowers growing as well as the animals they have: horses, goats pigs. Upstairs after 4 PM, they have a nice clean-looking modern style restaurant featuring a nice menu with a variety of six vegetarian and one vegan pasta option. The hostess, who claimed she was also vegetarian was quick to point out all the vegetarian options some can be converted to vegan by omitting the cheese or dairy ingredient. There's a nice tall bar upstairs with stools and one TV for watching news or sports. Apparently they have a brunch weekends only with a menu that also looks very inviting. The property has a large selection of bottled wines, a micro brewery and a coffee bean brewery. Family friendly, a nice place to go to get a bite and drink, stretch your legs, enjoy fresh air (although a bit dusty near parking lot). Country music is playing loudly in and around the property. We have an expanse of grass for picnic in a play area that's very natural and organic and appearance and a glass house which opens up onto a hard scape patio available for a private event events. The people were friendly and welcoming. It's a spot of natural plot of country near the coast line in Encinitas.

The fish was a bit dry for my liking, cabbage could have been chopped with more finesse, and I wished they QC'd their limes a bit before putting them on the plate. Both were bone dry and I had to ask for more. Moreover, the cilantro lime rice was also a bit bland. It needed salt to lift the flavors in my opinion. There weren't even flecks of green if it was supposed to be cilantro? I tried boyfriend's veggie hash but was disappointed to find that it was almost all potatoes. Having said that, it was an extremely generous portion so he was filled up. While I didn't try it, our friend that had the chorizo hash also said it was okay so I'm guessing the ratio wasn't quite right. Anyways, ask for their chili sauce on the side, that's actually quite surprising. It had really good heat and was more like a chili crisp than a vinegary hot sauce. The plates that did score favorably at the table were the carne chilaquiles and the divorced eggs.

There's parallel street parking throughout the area, so you might get lucky and find a spot nearby. I ended up parking on one of the side streets, which worked out perfectly.
