Excellent service. We came in to get some takeout for breakfast. We patiently sat in the waiting area. We were asked several times if we have been helped. I have ordered burritos all over the US. I have driven as far as San Diego to get a burrito too. We ordered the California burrito, French toast, and two breakfast plates. The breakfast omelette looked OK and there were no complaints from my buddies. Of course I had the burrito. I think for the most part the burrito did not seem to be worth $17 and it was quite underwhelming due to it being mostly egg and for the price I expected more meat inside of it. Service was slow, the hash browns tasted produced and chemically, which is the standard broken yolk taters. and somehow my entire meal got hijacked by everyone else's parenting choices. I truly don't understand the "take your little kids to church, throw their whole schedule off, then bring them to a restaurant an hour past meal time and nap time" strategy. Cue screaming, followed by iPhones blasting chaotic videos at full volume that the entire patio now has to listen to. My friend and I came here for brunch on a Saturday. Boy, was the place packed! It was hard finding a parking spot nearby, but there were plenty of spots near the Harbor Blvd end of the parking lot. The wait for a table was about 30 minutes. Not too bad. Service was good. I ordered their New York Steak & Eggs. I got it with my steak cooked medium and the eggs sunny side up. For my sides, I got fresh fruit and sourdough bread. For my drink, I got an iced tea. The drink was served in a big tumbler. Big enough that I never had to get a refill. Overall the food was okay. However unfortunately, the steak wasn't very good. If I come back here, I would be ordering something else on the menu. read more

Came here with my cousin, and we ordered the Cali Fiesta Burrito and the Smoked Salmon avocado toast. The burrito comes with refried beans and Mexican rice but not side the burrito but outside, not to mention beans and rice doesn't really go with a breakfast burrito. The burrito itself has little flavor and was mostly eggs wrapped in a tortilla. The smoked salmon avocado toast has a solid 3 inches of avocado on top of the toast. Waaay too much avocado. After removing a layer of avocado, the toast was super soggy and soft when biting into it. The smoked salmon lacked flavor and after adding some salt, it tasted a little better but still felt off. The waitress also messed up the latte order and brought a hot latte instead of cold. By the time, the hot latte arrived, the food was mostly done. read more

Martin's go-to is their Benedicts, where he'll usually pick the classic and Caprese. If I'm in the mood for a Benedict, I'm all about the Golden State Benedict. It's got this amazing sweet cornbread base, topped with carne asada and a delicious green sauce. It's truly a must-try! Oh, and if you're in the mood for something a little sweet, their French toast with strawberries is fantastic as well. Broken Yolk is the perfect spot if you're craving a solid breakfast or brunch. Broken Yolk is in a shopping plaza near Harbor Boulevard and Adams Avenue. Large parking lot but it was challenging getting a spot on a busy Sunday afternoon. They use the Yelp Waitlist and you can join on your phone, but check in with the host when you arrive. It was about a 30 minute wait. Plenty of tables, booths, countertop chairs, and outdoor seating. Menu is a mix of everything under the sun. Pancakes, waffles, crepes, French toasts, burgers, wraps, sandwiches, salads, soups, omelets, benedicts, Tex-Mex, and more. They also have several beverages to choose from. Water was served in giant glass jars, I didn't have to ask for a refill! Cali Breakfast Burrito - Flour tortilla filled with avocado, bacon, cheese, eggs, and potatoes. Pretty standard. We don't eat a lot, so it was shareable between two people. Served with rice, beans, green sauce, and salsa on the side. Classic French Toast - Three slices of eggy bread sprinkled with powdered sugar on top. Can't go wrong with this one! Cinna-Cakes - two sweet and cinnamon-y pancakes. Portions were surprisingly large, didn't finish eating this one. It's somewhere between 3.5 - 4 stars for me. 1/5 -- Deeply Disappointed I'm genuinely upset to be writing this because I come here often and have always loved this place, but my most recent visit was extremely disappointing. The service was disorganized from the start--upon arriving the lady at the front desk was very polite and helped us fairly quick. The problems started after we got seated. To start off, the server didn't even acknowledge one of the people at our party of 3. On top of that, more than one of our orders were completely wrong, not just small mix-ups. When we asked to have them corrected, another worker came up to us and was kind enough to take them back to the kitchen and bring us the right orders. When we did receive our orders back, they were poorly plated, barely had any sauce and looked as if done quick just to get it out of the way. Also, other tables who arrived after us were served quickly and treated with far more attention, which made the experience feel really unfair. Our server barely came to check on us the whole time we were there and he also got some of the order wrong, but we didn't want to be rude and we didn't complain. He also failed to take the order of one of us and brought out something that was not asked for. There was no apology, no explanation, and no effort to make things right. For a place I've supported for so long, that really stings. I sincerely hope management takes this seriously, because I've always loved and looked forward coming here--but after this experience, I'm not sure I'll be back unless things improve. read more

I've been coming to this location for over three years, but recently the service has gone downhill. I visited twice this week (Friday and Saturday) and had the same server both times. On Saturday, we arrived about 40 minutes before closing, and it felt like we were an inconvenience just for walking in. We've had this same server several times before, and he's never introduced himself or made much of an effort to be friendly. His service is always rushed and vague, which takes away from the overall experience. For example, we asked for a coffee refill he came and was rushing, poured the coffee, then spilled as he was pulling his arm back in. He didn't wipe the table or say sorry??? I understand accidents happen, but to not acknowledge it??? He doesn't even stop walking while checking in on us, just rude. It's disappointing to see the quality of service decline after being a loyal customer for so long. Unfortunately, will not be returning to this location. (It was so spicy I couldn't taste anything) ambiance was great.
