Chicken & Waffle Benedict with hash browns!

I've never really gone out for brunch, so this place was such a delight for my first time! The wait was 20-35 minutes, but we definitely waited only like 10 minutes for our table. So expect to enter in a waitlist because it gets crowded! The food was amazing! Absolute 10/10! I got the hash skillet which was a much larger portion than I thought I was going to get. Soft potatoes with gooey cheese, bacon bits, green onions and scrambled eggs (but you can get the eggs however you like them!). Every bite was delicious! I even tried my sister's and my best friend's chicken and waffles, which I will definitely get next time. The chicken was crispy and the waffles are so nice and fluffy. It's also amazing paired with their syrup that they have on the side. For my drink, I got their messy caramel latte and it is packed with caramel drizzle and whipped cream, with a nice coffee flavor. The overall ambiance is very nice, definitely what you expect from a busy cafe. And our server was great too! Definitely a recommendation for a weekend brunch!

I came here on a weekend and it was packed as expected! It's a huge cafe with so many tables and gives diner vibes. I got the choose two benedicts and got the border benedict and sope benedict. The border benedict came with a sweet corn base that added a nice flair. The carne asada and the sauce really pulled everything together and it was delicious! The sope benedict was also very flavorful, and they were very generous with the beef barbacoa and avocado. I also really enjoyed their pico de gallo, which was very refreshing and contrasted nicely from the savory barbacoa. Both benedicts' eggs were perfectly runny and I loved that I was able to try both for an extra few dollars! I took off a few stars because the service was overall just so slow that it took away from our dining experience. It took long for us to get seated, even longer for our server to take our order, and EVEN LONGER to get our food, and for that alone I probably wouldn't come back.

Had a great breakfast at the Broken Yolk Cafe. You know when they do coffee right, it can't go wrong. I ordered the Classic Eggs Benedict with hash browns, and my friend Joe had the American Breakfast with English muffin and bacon. Our server was friendly and checked on our coffee regularly. They were quite busy for a Sunday morning and we had a little wait. I'm glad we tried this place out. Very reasonable prices and good portions. I was satiated and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. I have to give special kudos for the hash browns. I know they must not be too healthy because they were so delicious. I normally don't finish my potatoes but this was exceptional. They had many tables and the parking was shared with a nearby strip mall. It had a nice diner feel to it and there were many locals eating here.

What's not to like about this place? This is the second time that I have visited this place. The first time was a year ago, after going to Disneyland. This time I'm here again after visiting Disneyland. Is it becoming a trend? Well, this time we lyfted here from our hotel across from Disneyland, a quick ten minutes, and we arrived. It wasn't too busy, and we were seated right away. Our server (Alicia) was dropping off drinks and said she would be right back. She came back with a huge smile on her face, introduced herself to us, and took our drink order--coffee and water for me. She quickly returned and asked if we were ready to order. We were not ready to order yet, since the menu was so big and everything looked so good. We finally ordered, I got the Southern Biscuit and Gravy with French Fries My wife ordered the CA Omelette. In no time at all our food had arrived. The biscuits were light and fluffy, the gravy was perfect with enough sausage in it to fill you up. French fries were golden brown and hot. I finished my plate, cleaning every crumb off of it. What a great breakfast, and my new go to when I'm in town at Disneyland

Came back again with my husband and seriously I can't wait to try their whole menu. Their smoothies are AMAZING. Highly recommend getting the strawberry banana smoothie. Both the tuna melt and lemon ricotta pancakes were great, but dang their onion rings and fries are just as good and compliment the main dishes well. Service is always exceptional and even when they're busy, the ambiance is always welcoming. Can't wait to come back!

This place is so busy but luckily we beat the crowd. They have a big menu with many omelette options. Service is great. My soup-salad-sandwich combo is decent. Don't really like the tortilla soup - not much in it. The soup is overpowered by huge tortilla strips. The tuna sandwich and Caesar's salad are both decent. BF had the Mom Omelette. It looks so colorful, tastes good, and feels healthy from all the veggies. Iced Spanish Latte is good. Wish they had more seasonal coffees.

I've been here at least 50 times and I genuinely don't get some of these 1 star reviews. The place is clean, the food is good, and the service is always on point. What I have seen is some customers being rude and shitty towards servers. At some point you have to wonder: are you reviewing the restaurant, or the consequences of your own attitude? Also, it's brunch. On a weekend. There's going to be a wait. Use the waitlist and let's all act surprised together.

Broken Yolk Cafe was sooo good for brunch The food was delicious and totally worth the 45 minute Sunday wait. I loved my meal and the mimosa flight was fun. They mostly have wine based drinks just so you know. It's more of a come hungry and enjoy great food vibe than a dress up cocktail brunch spot but I would definitely go back. Plus the prices were really reasonable.

The wait wasn't too bad. We waited about an hour. Our servers name was Sam. She was nice and attentive, but towards the end, she never came to our table. We asked her to bring us a bag so we could take our food to go, but she never showed up. That was unfortunate, but we just ended up getting one from someone else. Also, when she was ordering our food, she didn't tell us half of the stuff we were getting was an up charge until we got the receipt. But the food was good and the food came out fast.

I keep telling myself I'm going to get something other than an eggs benedict and then I order the same thing. This time I switched it up and selected the "Choose Two" with a golden state and a sope benedict with fruit. Loved it! My niece got the sope benedict with hash browns. This is my go to brunch place that I will always introduce people too! Even though they're super popular, they thankfully have a waitlist that you can join online so you don't have to stand around at the restaurant. Nick was our server and he was funny and friendly. My aunt also noted that he didn't write any of our orders down, so he's got a great memory! I ordered the Pucker Up Lemonade and the Chicken and Waffle Benedict. The drink was fantastic, the alcohol was blended so well that it really tasted like lemonade but was strong enough that I definitely felt it. For my main dish, the chicken was a great crispiness and the eggs were delicious. But I did find that the waffle was a little bit too sweet and clashed with the salty foods. Maybe they make this one kind of waffle that they also use for their sweet dishes, so it's easier to assemble different orders. But I do wish my waffle was a little more neutral in the flavor. Otherwise I had a great time and I'm sure I'll be back someday to introduce this gem of a place to someone else!

I eat a little bit of spiciness, but the chilaquiles were a little too spicy for me. The server did tell me the red ones were spicy after I asked, so I went with green ones hoping they'd be fine but I couldn't finish them. Thats on me though, just sharing details in case it helps. I joined the waitlist when we were on our way to the restaurant. We had to check-in upon arrival and there was still a little bit of a wait before we got seated.

Came in for our first time today and our first impression wasn't great. The hostess/manager was not in a good mood and wasn't too friendly answering the phone. When she got off the phone, she wasn't much nicer. I don't care what life throws at you, you're on the clock, you are serving the public, so buck up little parter and put on a smile. We didn't let that bother us and we were seated. Our waitress was a ray of sunshine and was so friendly. . My gf had an ice tea and I had the decaf. Man, that coffee was good. We shared some of their delicious Churro French Toast. I had the Sopes Benedict and my god was that amazing!!! The sope' was crunchy, the meat tender and tasty, egg perfectly cooked and it was topped with a fresh and delicious picó de gallo. Unfortunately we can't say the same about The Sun-up Breakfast Sandwich... As soon as it showed up, I knew it wasn't gonna be good. It was, flavorless, dry, no mayo or butter and looked flat and so sad. Thee gf said the Churro French Toasts made up for it. If you do order hash browns, I suggest you get the toasted/crispy. All in all, it was a good spot to eat. The restaurant is clean, great music and the service In friendly and very attentive. read more

Brunch is done do well here. Our experience here was so great because of our server. Brittany made us feel so welcome, had great food suggestions, and so personable. She was awesome. The service was fine. No ambience. This venue had the warmth of a Jiffy Lube office. I had a burger. It was okay, nothing special. It appeared to be cooked on a flat top with any juice squeezed out with a spatula. I will probably not return. There are many other choices in the area. read more

We also kept asking to be seated & moved next to a heater but they kept forgetting about it. Stopped here on our way home from Disney. Totally impressed! We were greeted right when we walked in and seated promptly. Nice open dining space lots of seating and servers. Our waitress was Brittany, she was so sweet and very attentive! She told us about specials and even though strawberry lemonade wasn't on the menu when my daughter asked, she made it happen. This place is amazing! The employees make you feel welcome since the moment you get there. Our waitress Brittany was great very attentive, always making sure I had my coffee cup filled. Always checking up on us. Now let's talk about the food can you say yummy! The food is very tasty warm & omg! The portion size are huge. Come hungry because they are very generous on their portion size or be prepared to take left overs. They have plenty of options. My first time here but I will definitely be coming back for more. I've done the breakfast and now I've done the lunch. Another great eating experience here at the Broken Yolk Cafe. Yes, it is a great breakfast/brunch place, but I am also pleasantly surprised with the lunch offerings as well. I chose the Western burger. I'm a sucker for an onion ring in my burger. Think, the Carls Jr western bacon cheeseburger on steroids with better quality ingredients (of course). I also always have to get the green tea match latte...it's good. :) Diane was our server and she was amazing. With restaurants having a challenging time with the quality of staff during this tough economic season, there's something to be said on what is being done in this institution. I always believe if employers focus on their own employees, the quality will in turn be seen by its patrons. Broken Yolk cafe does just that. I'm looking forward to trying new things out on the menu in the near future. read more

Broken Yolk continues to be a weekly go-to for us! We split some combo of an American breakfast (eggs, bacon, toast, fruit for us) and their oatmeal (with lovely fruit and almonds) and especially feel welcomed by our friends Edee, Brittany, Ariel, Morgan, Crystal and best bus boy ever (truly!) Luis! We're part of the Broken Yolk app family which means a $10 coupon every 3-4 meals (for us) so all the better! No surprise it's always busy (but you can call ahead and get on the wait list). read more

However, my recent experience at their Fullerton location left me shell-shocked and chuckling at the same time. We strolled in around a little after 7 a.m., ready to fill our bellies with yolky goodness. The restaurant was as empty as a desert ghost town, so we thought we hit the breakfast jackpot. But oh boy, were we wrong! We eagerly approached the hostess, hoping to secure a table and dive into an eggy feast. Instead, we were greeted with a waiting time of 10 whole minutes. Now, I understand that patience is a virtue, but when you're faced with an empty restaurant, it's like waiting for a punchline that never comes. To make matters even more hilarious, our encounter with the waitress deserves its own comedy sketch. With a pinch of sass and a dash of rudeness, she informed us that the cafe wasn't open yet. Hold on a minute, lady! There were people sitting and munching away on their breakfast right in front of our eyes! I couldn't help but picture an invisible force field separating the "open" and "closed" sections of the cafe. At that moment, the irony struck me like a bolt of lightning. Across the street, shining like a beacon of breakfast hope, was the majestic iHOP. It was as if the universe was saying, "Hey, if you want a hassle-free breakfast, head on over there!" The comedic timing couldn't have been more perfect. Despite our misadventures, I must admit that The Broken Yolk Cafe still holds a special place in my heart. I was here in tuesday. This review is manly for our server Azuncion. (Plese give this man a raise) I'm so impressed and honestly it made my whole day how he went about and beyond for me. I ordered the chilaquiles and ask wich Salsa was spicer (I love spice) he said none, and he could tell I was disappointed. I still ordered it anyway and was going to put hot sauce. One the food came out, he went out of his way to bring me a side of sliced Serrano peppers. It's small gesture but he really did not have to do that. Super bummed. So we ordered online it said it would be ready at 815. We got there at 820. We weren't acknowledged for like 5 mins with servers and hosts walking past us. Then they direct us to the back to pick up our Togo. The server said she was doing our drinks but the food just got done she asked us to wait outside and they will bring it out so us. We got two orange juices, a coffee and a smoothie. After 20 minutes we finally go back inside and they still were not done and nobody acknowledged us again. We came to Broken Yoke on a business trip from New Hampshire. Sam was our server the first day, what a polite individual. We had such great service and food, we came back the next day. Sam set the service bar really high, so when we didn't see her the next day, we were unsure if we would have the same experience. Next day we had Brittany. What a pleasant, sweet lady. So pleasant, we ordered our Uber to come back the third day! Food was above and beyond for what we were expecting. And Brittany remembered our drink order from the day prior. Today was my first visit. I have been so anxious to try this place. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The decor was very cute. I ordered classic eggs Benedict, which is my absolute favorite breakfast item. It was just okay. The Canadian bacon was so smoky tasting, it really overpowered the dish and the hollandaise a bit bland. It tasted more like béarnaise sauce and lacked that lemon essence the sauce is known for. I will give this place another try, but won't order the eggs Benedict again. I was surrounded by other tables whose French toast looked absolutely divine and the omelets looked good. read more

My first time here and the experience was Awesome! The food was delicious and the service was fast. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu, answering any questions we had and offering suggestions. The restaurant takes the extra steps for people to feel safe while dining in. When you walk in and walk around, they request that you have your mask on. For the booths that are located inside, the set up give people extra social distance. Everything from sugary to savory was absolutely delicious! The coffee was nice and HOT, the best and can't wait to come back!!! read more

I had an exceptional experience, thanks to Brittany's outstanding service! As a first-time visitor, I truly appreciated her thoughtful recommendations, which made my meal all the more enjoyable. The Mom Omelet was absolutely delightful, and the avocado toast was equally impressive--both dishes were flavorful and perfectly portioned. We had the unfortunate experience of trying to dine at this location, and I must say it was the worst I've encountered. After being seated, we waited for 10 minutes without any waitstaff attending to us. Despite asking several staff members for assistance, we were repeatedly informed that it wasn't their section. To make matters worse, the couple sitting in the booth in front of us ended up leaving due to the lack of service. As a Broken Yolk Club member, I expected much better. Eggs Benedict at The Broke Yolk Cafe is a must-try! The hollandaise sauce is creamy and flavorful, and the poached eggs are cooked to perfection. The service was top-notch as well - our server was friendly and attentive, and recommended the mimosa flight, which was a great addition to the meal. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the prices were reasonable. Overall, we had a fantastic experience at The Broke Yolk Cafe and would give it a 5/5 rating. We rotate several breakfast spots, but this Broken Yolk is one of our top favorites. We always get great service, the food is consistently good, and the location in Fullerton suits us well. It's a pleasant environment with a good feel. Today Brittany (Employee # 1167) was a delight. When my eggs were a little overdone, she brought me new ones without me asking. She was always there when needed, without hovering, and she always had a smile. She definitely made our visit there very pleasant, and we really appreciate that! read more

Every time I visit the Broken Yolk, I think I know what I'm going to want to eat. Then, they hand me the menu and- oops! I want everything. Such good food here, I dream of their cinnamon roll pancakes!! Their service is amazing! I always love the servers I get, last time I went, Brittany was a dream! My friend and I visited on November 4th and we honestly wanted to ask Brittany what she was doing after and if she wanted to hang out because she was such a pleasure! Ask for Brittany!! 04/26/2021 The Staff were all polite and courteous. Brittany and Alyssa, ROCK !!! The Service was prompt. I chose to sit outside and The Ambience included background music from the 1970's-1980's, which had me singing while other patrons and Brittany were cracking-up. The Food was outstanding. I chose a made-to-order sausage, bacon, ham and cheese omelette, which was accompanied by hash-browns, biscuits and gravy. The Prices were reasonable. I shall return. The Broken Yoke is one of my happy places, and i think this is my new favorite location - don't know how i missed it before, we shop nearby fairly often. The huge windows make it bright and the open plan makes it very comfortable. Brittany arranged to get my Ranchero Skillet with rice instead of potatoes, and the Serrano chilis really make that dish great. I drink a rediculous amount of ice tea, and she always kept my glass full. Great food and excellent service - i will be back! read more

Diane was our server, she was phenomenal! Right off the bat she made us feel welcome and at home. The restaurant was clean and the service pace was top notch. We ordered the American Breakfast with a blueberry muffin and an orange juice, Ranchero Skillet, and the Churro French Toast. Everything was delicious, the only thing we can say is the french toast was a little too sweet for us adults...so maybe the kids would enjoy it! read more
