We've been here before on the weekends and had great experiences. But this time I ordered the El Fuego Omelette for the first time which was supposed to come with chorizo. Idk what they think this meat is but it is not chorizo. It tasted more like hot Italian sausage. I also asked for a side of sour cream for the omelette and they put it on the hash browns instead. The waitress addressed this when she put my plate down by saying, "I hope you don't mind that they put it on your hash browns." I had to ask for an additional cup of sour cream rather than the issue being corrected before it was brought to the table. I was with other people that also had complaints about their plates/things they sent back and I hate making a fuss when a restaurant is busy so I just ate what I could as is. Definitely won't be ordering this again if we go back. read more

Great food, I had the salmon eggs benedict and my daughter had the house Benedict. The food was excellent I loved my breakfast. We sat at the bar and our server Esme was extremely friendly and wonderful with communication as they were extremely busy this morning. She did so well balancing the bar drinks and serving us our food. The girl at the front that helped get us sat Bella was fabulous with offering us to sit at the bar so we didn't have to wait for a table. The whole service here was wonderful and we will be back for breakfast again. Great service team and everyone was working together extremely well. read more

A couple who was seated approximately 5 minutes after us received their meals before we did. Server blamed kitchen when I think it was her putting in our order late. Husband asked for crispy bacon and it was limp. Second time we've had same server and had issues last time too. read more

The broken yolk is a good breakfast place. It's nearby so we go every once in a while. The food always tastes great. The best value is between 7-9 - there are unbeatable specials. It's always clean too. I would highly recommend checking your to-go orders though. I've ordered twice and both were wrong. (Missing sides or drinks) read more

Well we wanted to like it & and went to the Broken Yolk with high hopes of a wonderful breakfast. But instead it became a morning fiasco. After an hour and twenty minute wait, we were finally seated (and only because we complained about the open tables ... apparently they were "waiting" to seat us (4 adults, 2 small kids (1 & 3yo) at a corner table while other tables that could have equally fit us remained open. The service was spotty at best, our order took over 45 minutes to arrive (but only because we asked what was taking so long). And to top it off, the food temperature was tepid. And of course, when we asked to speak to the manager, guess who never showed up? So if you want to kill your entire morning, get served food that is only slightly warm, and want to be ignored by the staff as well as management ... then I highly recommend you check out this place. read more

The food was pretty middle of the road. I got a full stack of lemon blueberry ricotta pancakes. I expected something with more sauce, like maybe from the blueberries. But the pancakes were pretty dry minus the regular syrup they provided for them. Given they were blueberry I figured they'd have a saucy blueberry reduction. The berries were almost wild looking. More akin to serviceberries than your modern farmed blueberry. To be honest.... Our serve was also kind of annoying. The customer service was present, but I think it needed some work. Our serve was just talking to us in a way that it felt like we were being talked through or maybe we were character in a cartoon. They also kept grabbing plates one at a time, could we wait until we are done? I understand wanting to do dishes but it just felt like we were being interrupted just for one plate, like a couple times. We'll probably come back, but I hope the food is better next time. read more

Never got to the food....Was not very busy sat us at a table (chairs super uncomfortable ) asked for a booth (several open) they said no, we left. Food that was being delivered did not look all that great. Went to another breakfast place down the street which was incredible with GOOD service. If you are going to charge $15 per person for breakfast I at least expect a minor accommodation. read more

The food was unseasoned overall, which was a shame because I was expecting things to be pretty good by how packed it was. The broken is by far our favorite restaurant to go for breakfast or lunch. The banana pancakes are AMAZING!! I am not sure how the chef makes them so incredibly yummy but these pancakes are out of this world!! For lunch the crispy chicken sandwich is delicious ( I get mine grilled ) . The servers are so personal and attentive it's amazing ! Maria is by far the sweetest , hard working server you will ever meet. If you haven't tried the broken Yolk, you are missing out ! Unfortunately I ordered the steel cut oats which turned out to be mushy and clumpy. The toppings of strawberries, blueberries, and almond slices were okay. I will never order this again from here. I would have expected our waitress to ask if there was anything wrong with it since I only ate the toppings. Service was not very good and was very slow. Ordered the Cali Breakfast Burrito and all I can say is it's underwhelming and definitely no where close to a California breakfast burrito. It appears they don't fully cook the bacon (and don't give you much of it) and wrap it up in a tortilla with cheddar cheese that doesn't melt. The main part of this burrito is under seasoned potatoes and over cooked eggs. They give you a side of what I assume they think is pico de gallo but it's just diced tomatoes with onions. The beans and rice is okay, nothing special, same with the burrito. Been looking all over this state for some decent Mexican food and a good breakfast burrito. This place definitely isn't it. Bland, under seasoned, and no where close to actual Mexican food. I'd order something else on the menu. So disappointing, plus they charge you $20.00 for it, you'd think it'd actually be better. read more

Worst service I've ever had. I ordered online and my receipt said my order would be ready at 1:40. I arrived at 1:35 and the girl told me there were 3 orders ahead of mine. I waited about 10 minutes and asked another girl if my order was almost ready. She said they were boxing it up. Another 10 mins go by and it's still not ready. I ask how much longer and the girl tells me that they actually haven't started on my food. She said they were prioritizing the tables inside and focusing on those before doing take out orders. Are you serious?! I asked for a refund and they stated they couldn't do it because they are separate from online or something like that. Will not be returning and will be telling everyone about my experience. The manager didn't even offer anything for having me wait 30 minutes. read more

Then not too long after that, I heard the same person being EXTREMELY rude and DISRESPECTFUL towards one of their coworkers! I was there after 2pm on this past Sunday. When it first opened we enjoyed going there. It seemed to be a cut above most other breakfast spots. But today my wife and I were disappointed with the meal. The hash browns were very salty apparently from some seasoning they use, we couldn't eat all of that. We both got a blueberry muffin for the bread portion ( because they were out of sourdough). They were the size of a silver dollar, we thought it was a joke as we both chuckled when we saw them and they were tough as though heated up in a microwave, couldn't eat those either. We also got turkey sausage which was over cooked and rather bland. My wife ordered coffee but said it didn't taste like the good coffee they used to serve. We did mention these things to the waitress and she did discount our $24 ticket by about $2.30 (10% senior discount but we are seniors and probably should have gotten that anyway). One last gripe, the handle on the coffee cup was broken. We probably won't be heading in that direction anytime soon. read more

Christmas Eve morning and I wanted to have a takeout great breakfast. I went online and found Broken Yoke Cafe, which is 1/2 mile from our home, and ordered for A 10 AM pickup. I arrived at 10 am and they had our breakfasts all packaged up and ready. The food was excellent and warm. I am so glad to have a great breakfast cafe so close to us, and will return again soon to dine in-house. read more

Masks are required to enter but not once you are seated. The staff was very warm and welcoming to their clean and bright dining room. We were seated quickly and our drink order taken. While we were looking at the menu, the general manager came over to say hello and answer questions about the menu. Kids meals are generous and good variety. Good was hot and delicious. My husband loved his chilaquiles with carne asada, eggs were cooked perfectly and the waffles and cinnamon pancake were delicious. What a great combination of well made food and great service. Kept hearing good things about this place so didn't hesitate to suggest to my mom when she wanted to go out. I Went there on a Thursday late morning. We were seated right away and a server came by immediately and brought water to get us started. Quick service on the additional drinks as well. Both of us ordered different versions of Benedict. The restaurant was only 1/3 full and getting food still took 30 minutes with no one checking in for refills. We expected fresh hot food at least. The traditional Benedict had ham that may as well have been dehydrated and the hash browns looked good but were cold. The Golden State Benedict had a super over fried muffin that was greasy and crunchy on the edges and the bacon was burnt to a crisp. The home style potatoes or whatever they call them had originally been mostly fried to a crisp which wouldn't have been as bad but they were also cold. Cold, not warm, the only recent heat they had seen was possibly from the warming lights before the server took the plates. I will say the eggs were cooked exactly the way I requested. That and the avocado and tomato were the only saving grace on the plate. The hollandaise sauce was not very flavorful but offered some moisture to the disaster. If you want to avoid the flys don't sit in the window booths. read more
