So, I strolled into this place with high hopes and an empty stomach. I decided to go for their much-revered caprese eggs Benedict. And boy, oh boy, were those eggs cooked to perfection! They were so good that I almost shed a tear. No exaggeration, my friends! Now, here's the funny part. There was absolutely no wait to be seated. It was like the restaurant knew I was coming and had rolled out the red carpet for me. I felt like a breakfast celebrity, you know? And to top it off, the server was on top of their game. This is what happened she was looking at me real crazy when I walked in and I looked at her and I said I put my hands up I go what do I sit is just me and she said how many and I said one and she said what and I said what she said how many and it was quiet in the restaurant there wasn't really busy and I looked at her and I said is there a problem because she was being very combative and she said I don't want you in here leave never before has anyone in any restaurant told me to leave I'm African American I think she was discriminating and I told her you're discriminating you're being racist because as we know there's not a lot of African Americans that died in that restaurant on Chapman avenue in Orange or probably live in the city of Orange for all that matter so she was clearly discriminating and being racist and I told her so now I'm trying to get a hold of the owner of the franchise which is next impossible but they won't give me his number even though I did meet the guy once when they first opened the restaurant he actually came up to our table me and my wife and introduced himself he actually sat with us so I know he's not going to be pleased with this then I tried to contact the original owner who has the original store and the only thing I can get with this guy is a voicemail hopefully he'll call me back my advice don't eat there teach them a lesson I feel like getting a picket sign and standing out front holding it saying that they are racist and discriminate at least that manager is I can't believe it unbelievable. read more

Broken yolk is the bomb! Seriously, if anyone is in the mood for an unforgettable breakfast, I recommend the broken yolk in orange! Regardless if you live in any other city or are visiting, a stop at the broken yolk is a must! You won't regret it! Just yesterday, I was in the mood for French toast (my favorite breakfast food) but after a long work week, cooking was the last thing on my mind! Although I know I make the best French toast in town (unbiased tehehe) I was taking a chance on the broken yolk and boyyyy did they not disappoint! Their TIKI TOAST is amazing! Instead of using the traditional French toast bread, they use Hawaiian bread and yes ladies and gents, you heard me correctly...HAWAIIAN BREAD! It was so sweet and fluffy! The blueberries and strawberries are a nice touch too but if you really want to hit a grand slam with this meal, I would add bananas! A nice recommendation from my server Geoffrey! Not only did he recommend a nice touch, but he was also very attentive and had exceptional customer service! So there you have it, end of my rant on what will likely be my go to breakfast spot every weekend! Today was the first day of their official opening.I arrived at 8:45 A.M I was greeted at the door by a smilling staff.I and my wife were promptly seated and asked if we wanted anything to drink. Our hot coffee and water ariived quickly and we were asked if we'd like to order or needed more time.I ordered the ham and chesse omlette, my wife ordered eggs ,Mexican rice ,and English muffin.30 minutes later our server apologised that our order was lost.During that time I noticed a less expensine menu that was on the small card posted near the sugars ,unfortunately it was only good between 6 and 8 A:M .The food was delicious ,portions large .Our server apologized and gave us our two meals for free after feeling very sorry we waited .What a nice lady she tried very hard to make this a wonderful experience I would go back and eat there again .The breakfast specials are only $4.99 but need to be ordered between 6 A:M and 8:A.M .They have a larger menu then the breakfast specials that should please most people. So glad I finally checked this place out! The service was GREAT and the food was amazing. I was really impressed with the servers and how friendly they were! The manager was also very nice and helpful! You can tell his leadership in the restaurant sets the pace for the rest of the workers! I have worked as a waitress for 10 years in different restaurants and so his involvement, joyfulness and energy was really appreciated! As far as a review on the food... the portions are HUGE! If you are like me, you will have enough to eat for a few days if you take your left overs home. You really get your money's worth! This is just lazy and bland if not bad food. Prices are absolutely not worth the quality If you're wondering why the coffee is so expensive and tastes so AWFUL I'm pretty sure it's be it's actually gasoline with 2% milk added. Disgusting. Just awful I would pour it down the drain if I wasn't convinced it would erode my pipes. Seriously how do you mess up coffee this bad and charge so much? The only "messy" part of the messy caramel latte is the sticky outside of the cup. Another fun reminder that I wasted my money on this last franchise everytime my fingers stick to something. The home fries are so bland they might as well be uncooked. Idk how a cooked potato can taste raw but they have managed to make that happen The banana pancakes just have sliced banana on top. The place was clean and the staff was friendly. We came in for breakfast and was seated right away. Since we came on a Thursday morning business was slower than during the weekend. I was told that during the weekend, come before 8:30am, otherwise, there is a wait. The service was above average. I ordered steak and eggs and a coffee. My coffee cup never went empty. The server -Donia- checked on us constantly and was quick to suggest any additional items. My spouse ordered chicken fried steak and eggs. He ordered the potatoes to go with that and the biscuits and gravy. I had these Mexican rice and sourdough toast. The eggs on both of our entrées were cooked as ordered and my steak was cooked perfectly. The chicken fried steak was average. The biscuit for the biscuits and gravy were fresh and tasty. It has two poached eggs on top of something like corn bread and there's carne asada surrounding it with I think green chile sauce. Perfecto! The orange juice is good as well. It comes in a huge glass and I believe it's freshly squeezed! The price is decent. My friend got the chilaquiles it was good, but I probably wouldn't get it for breakfast unless you like nachos, kind of tasted like nachos had the sides of beans and rice. The service was decent. they get really busy on Sunday's. The wait is not too bad but obviously Sunday brunch you might need to wait like 15-20 mins not too bad! Broken Yolk has quickly become one of my favorite breakfast spots. We went to this particular location for brunch on my 30th birthday, and it was the perfect choice. I called ahead the day before to let them know we had a larger group, and day-of getting seated took almost no time at all despite having a party of 9. Service was flawless and smooth, and even though I didn't mention it was my birthday at first the server went out of her way to make the experience memorable after she saw it was my birth date on my ID upon ordering an alcoholic drink. She brought a little surprise at the end of the meal that made my day even more special. The food and drinks were all delicious and served so incredibly quickly and without issues (it was even a Sunday, to boot)! I decided to try the Broken Yolk Cafe today for the first time. I was happy to see that the place was hopping with business. That is a great sign that a restaurant is good. The food was great and I think the servers did the best they could with the crowd that was there. I had Sydney as my server and I was very impressed. I noticed the manager dealing with a guest at the restaurant and I was very impressed with how he dealt with with this guy. I don't know the managers name (tall red head man) but he even came to my table to ask how my friend and my meal was. They were so busy but he took the time to make sure we were happy. I came in on a Saturday with a party of 3. There wasn't too long of a wait. We sat kinda near the back of the restaurant. A guy came and took our drink order as soon as we sat and our server (Donia) came by a few seconds later and made sure someone had gotten our drink order. We had been to the broken yolk in san diego but it was our first time to this location. The menu is huge and has so many yummy looking options. Donia came back and asked if we had any questions or needed any help deciding. We ended up going with her recommendation of coconut french toast (limited time only) and the mom ommlette. I don't write reviews, I use yelp to look for good places to eat. That aside, I thought this was going to be a great experience. I got sat with Cindy (the person who has multiple 5 star reviews) so I thought I was going to have a great and flawless experience. Food was great if you plan to eat it without toast. I don't understand why someone bothers offering toast with ones meal if they get the toast once the meal is finished? I thought maybe it was just my luck, but I was wrong. Seems like a Cindy is a great people's person, but takes a long time for simple request. Her phrase "I'll get right on it" means nothing if I can't enjoy the full benefits of my meal. Came in on a Wednesday and there were a few people inside. My boyfriend and i have always driven by here but decided today was the day to try it. We got seated right away and sat next to the bar area. Our server was Donia and she asked what we wanted to drink. She recommended the Carmel latte so we got that to share with two waters. My sons breakfast was just okay, no frills no attempt to make it look appetizing. Second time with husband late lunchtime restaurant was moderately busy but still had lots of wait staff available, took a long time to get an order placed and then meal took longer than expected to be delivered. My turkey and avocado sandwich came with a the avocado half just smashed on top, not sliced as pictured, looked like my son had made it. Poor rushed service. You know what I mean, the "Everything ok? I had the pleasure of dining here this morning. It was my first time and let me tell you I am a fan. The service was exceptional from the moment we walked in the door until the moment we left. We were greeted and seated in record time, water, coffee and our server met us immediately. Order suggestions were thoughtful and delicious (cuz I totally took them) my water was always full, my companions coffee always warm and ALL of the staff was looking out for each other. What a great breakfast option! I loved my meal, biscuits and gravy as well as the chicken fried steak, all requested by my amazing server. The food was so delicious and the portions were great for sharing with a friend. Everything well prepared and well seasoned and delivered promptly. But the real star was the service! The manager Marco told us never to come back, since he thinks that when they surprised us with a mandatory 18% gratuity for my 6 person family, was confusing to me. Nowhere do they post that, it's not on their menu, the awful waiter never mentioned it. We got it at the end with our bill and the service was terrible. When we asked when they started imposing this requirement, everyone had a different answer. Marco is a liar, a terrible manager and we will do exactly as he told us, never go back.
