I got takeout here for the first time on a July Thursday and it was OK. The prices are high for what you get and the taste is fine, nothing spectacular. I ordered online to pick up, but when I got there, they seemed to have given my order to someone else, so they had to make my order again, which was ready very fast. The blueberry smoothie I got didn't taste like it had any sugar, which is good, so it was strictly the sweetness of the fruit, which wasn't sweet at all and for the cup size, $8 is quite a bit. Also, for $8, I ordered a side of bacon, but they don't say how many pieces you get. It was three little pieces, but for $8, I could have had a whole package of bacon from the grocery store. I don't think I'll be back here often, if at all. read more

The Vibe: The restaurant looks good inside--nice decor and a welcoming feel--but the acoustics are tough. It was incredibly loud and chaotic during our visit. The Service: We waited a long time for food, which happens, but the lack of attention was frustrating. Our server vanished after dropping the food; we had to wave her down just to get refills. The Food: Chicken Fried Steak: The gravy is the star here--savory and delicious. But the steak itself was small and the breading was doughy, like it wasn't fried long enough. Sides: I usually love hash browns, but these were overly soft and borderline mushy. The toast, however, was perfect--crispy and buttery. The eggs were cooked to a perfect medium but had zero seasoning (no salt/pepper). Chilaquiles: I ordered red and green sauce. The red was watery, the green was dry, and the steak was tough and chewy. Kids Meal: Standard pancakes, but the "fruit" side was disappointing--literally just one piece of each fruit. Drinks: Skip the orange juice. They claim it's fresh-squeezed, but it tasted 100% processed. The Verdict: Good gravy and toast can't save a meal with poor service and texture issues. Hope they can tighten up the kitchen. read more

The presentation of the food was great, the menus show their variety of dishes and options for everyone. The service was great. They are busy specially on the weekend and I went after the Beyond Wonderland music festival weekend so I bet it was more busy. Even though they were busy they got us seated in their open availability seating since they have indoor or outdoor dining. Every one working there is friendly offering great hospitality. Went on Saturday morning at 8am and plenty of seating and room. No wait. Staff is superior. Eggs Benedict were good. Generous ham and eggs were poached perfectly. Hollandaise was good. Hash browns could've cooked longer and had no seasoning. Coffee merely average. My friend's banana crepes looked yummy and I would try them next time. Serving sizes are about right. Not overwhelmingly large. By the time we left at 9:10 the place was hopping and there were a lot of people waiting. Seemed like they were short on servers. I definitely will go back. read more

Love this new location in Rancho. The ambiance is great and it's very modern with nice construction!!! The food was very good and happy of my picking! I ordered the chicken and waffle Benedict!! With hash browns as my side! For my drink I ordered the hazelnut latte, and it was really good ! The food was flavorful and fresh. The service was good! A little wait on certain things like our coffee, but our server was 8 months pregnant so I'll let that pass :) However, the overall breakfast experience was good! I will be back to this location! Had a slight wait at 1030 on a Friday morning. That is really the only negative (if you can call it that) about the experience. The staff was friendly and on top of everything. The food was fresh and tasted delicious- I had the rancheros skillet. Perfectly sized portions and the orange juice is fresh as Well! Unfortunately, I had the displeasure of eating twice here this week. Not my choice, it was chosen by others. I can't believe that a simple breakfast of 2 eggs, hash browns and corned beef hash could be messed up. The food was very bland, no flavor or seasoning to the food at all. So basic! Then! The corned beef hash reminded me of pedigree canned dog food, so gross. They need to stop serving that asap. I can't imagine anyone liking that. Second visit I order pancakes, safe bet right? Wrong! Usually flawless but off today I've been a regular customer of Broken Yolk Café through both dine-in and DoorDash, and 99 percent of the time it is absolutely flawless. The food is always hot, fresh, and thoughtfully packaged. The flavors are consistently on point and the meals are super satisfying. Today, though, there was a little hiccup. I ordered American breakfast with eggs over medium through DoorDash, but they arrived scrambled instead. I was hungry, so I just went with it, but it was disappointing. If DoorDash offers a customization option, I'd really love for that to be honored. That said, everything else was still delicious. The sausage patties deserve a special mention -- they are honestly the best I've ever had. There's a subtle but distinctive seasoning in them, maybe pepper or some secret spice, that makes them unforgettable. Despite the mix-up, I still recommend Broken Yolk. One mistake doesn't erase the many perfect experiences I've had. I'll definitely be ordering again and chalk this up to an off day. read more

Let's start with the good. While the wait was long, the service was very good. The servers were attentive and constantly checking up and making sure we were doing good. The ambiance was great! It was a hot day when I went and they had a nice shaded patio outside. The food however was .. mediocre at best? Pancakes were a bit dense and I got the chicken fried steak and eggs and it was just not to my liking. Especially for the price, I probably would opt for a cheaper place. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, maybe I ordered the wrong thing this time. However, the prices for everything was about the same, averaging around $17-20 per meal. Also for 2 sausage links it was $6.. Insane! I wish I could pack this place into my luggage and take it with me back up to Portland, Oregon. So many of our family-friendly neighborhood diners downtown have closed. This gem is part of the same chain I regularly visited in San Diego in the 1990s.....but better! Better staff! From the cashiers to the check-in staff to the chefs, to the waitresses every single person top-notch! I have visitedthis location four times between September 2024 and November 2024 and I have always recieved excellent service. Really, better everything compared to their San Diego location including great, free parking options. Also, plenty of outdoor seating for those of us with health conditions that demand it. The food is wonderful as well with a wide variety of breakfast choices served from when they open at 7am to when they close at 2pm. They include low carb or low calorie options for those of us with special dietary needs. Their egg dishes are well-seasoned, flavorful and in sufficient portions that are filling but don't weigh you down. I will visit every time I stay in the Inland Empire area! read more

The Broken Yolk is no joke when it comes to your breakfast cope. On that note I gotta say the service is dope and as tight as soap on a rope. So shout out to Chelsea that kept this experience afloat and that's Fo Sho! Ok so we ordered their Border Eggs Benedict's and Pumpkin Spice Pancakes that I just had to try. So the Border Benedict came out like it was sitting there for a while and yolk had no sexy pop, not good! On the other hand my pancakes were pretty decent once you added some syrup. The place itself looks so cute with cottage type vibes with a spacious patio for large parties. For those of us that are feeling those Tariffs they offer a brunch that has items for under ten bucks! Oh Yeah I'm on that! Again, shout out to Chelsea for distracting us from some of the mishaps in our breakfast adventure. I was shocked how busy it was on a Friday morning, but there is a nice bar that you can sit at if you don't want to wait on a table as well as a couple of other sit down spots that do not require any waiting, but it's for 2-3 people.Parking is a little bit challenging but folks are coming & going a lot.The bathrooms were clean & overall the restaurant too, no complaints considering how busy it was.The energy & vibe was good & their was a good Eb & Flo from the employees & the customers.Id definitely eat their again. We drove all the way from Victorville expecting a good meal like always, but today was a huge disappointment. They served us food that was freezing cold, and the Eggs Benedict came out with hard-boiled eggs. Then they tried to fix it by bringing us poached eggs on the side. Keep in mind, we also ordered flights and pancakes as appetizers, yet when we told them we'd rather go eat somewhere else, they didn't offer a single discount or try to make it right. It's called the Broken Yolk, yet they're serving hard-boiled eggs--what a joke! We ended up going to The Cheesecake Factory instead, and the food there was amazing! read more

Ordered here for delivery and man i wanted to like it because they hook it up big time. They are very generous with the servings and the food was tasting really good. I got the El Fuego, and the omelet was good but one bite of the hash browns and man it was so scary to bite into something stuck in the food. A piece of foil was in bedded within the potatoes for 23$ i lost appetite and honestly worried me about eating it and getting sick or having that in my stomach. Typically, our family does not go out for breakfast, but this morning we wanted to do something special for my husband. And I'm so glad we did because our server, Alicia, went above and beyond to make our experience at Broken Yolk something we will remember for a long time. :) Luckily, we got there early before the rush, so we were able to be seated fairly quickly. Everything I have ordered off the menu has been delicious, but my favorite is the Choice of 2 Eggs Benedict. Add a cold brew, and I'm rearing to go. LOL. I highly recommend Broken Yolk in Rancho to anyone wanting a breakfast that vastly surpasses the usual eggs and bacon. However, it's a popular place, that fills up fast, and parking is limited. So, if you are going to go after 8am, I suggest you check the waitlist online and be prepared to park across the street and walk over. I'm sure you'll agree this place is worth the extra effort. I wanted to go on a brekkie date with my hubby on a Saturday morning and there were so many places to try but we opted for broken yolk. We arrived pretty early a little after 8am and the place was already bustling however we were seated pretty quickly. We ordered the steak and eggs, cinnacakes and added on two eggs n bacon. I was really craving bacon and was sad to see how skinny and dry they looked. Regretted ordering it immediately could've cooked my own at home and it would have been so much better. The cinnamon pancakes were good albeit heavy. We had a few bites and took the rest to go. My hubby liked the steak and eggs, I stole a bite and it was okay. That would be a combo of inflation and supply chain shortages caused by the pandemic. There is a supply shortage of chicken nationwide which is forcing restaurants to use whatever they are given by the supplier. Hope that helps.

However, our expectations were quickly shattered due to the shocking attitude and behavior exhibited by our assigned waitress. Her refusal to promptly bring water to our table and her dismissive demeanor left us deeply disheartened. Upon requesting water for our party, we were taken aback when the waitress insisted on knowing who specifically would be drinking it before she would serve it. Her emphasis on only bringing water to those who would consume it appeared unnecessary and created an unwelcoming atmosphere. When we inquired about her reasoning, she offered perplexing explanations regarding servers, further contributing to our disappointment. What compounded the situation was the escalation of the waitress's attitude when we voiced our concern about her snippy questions and approach. It seemed as though she was determined to retaliate, leading to a frustrating delay of 20 minutes before we received our water and drinks. As the unpleasantness continued, we voiced our dissatisfaction to the manager. Regrettably, matters only worsened from there, as our order was inaccurately prepared. Given the evident signs of retaliation from our original server, we requested a new server, hoping to salvage the experience. However, by that point, our discomfort had escalated to a point where we could no longer fully enjoy our time at the restaurant. We left Broken Yolk in Rancho Cucamonga with a lingering sense of disappointment. It is disheartening to witness a restaurant that should prioritize customer satisfaction employ individuals who demonstrate such a lack of consideration for basic customer needs. The refusal to provide water and the overall disrespectful behavior of the waitress not only marred our dining experience but also exposed a lack of professionalism and respect toward customers. Based on our personal experience, we cannot, in good conscience, recommend this establishment. The incident involving the waitress's refusal to serve water has left us with a lasting negative impression. We just had this yesterday on holiday in San Diego and loved the food my wife said. we found a new fav, which is astronomically impossible. So today, back home with kid at daycare we found this place in Rancho the closest to us. Wife liked so much she agreed on the 45 min journey. Even though it's oddly situated in an apartment complex not facing the street barely any parking. We go there and it's tiny with outside seating in 90deg weather n rising to 103. They tell us it's a 30 minute wait I say what where are we supposed to sit! They said outside there's a covering. And some seats... 80 feet away. It's too hit so we stand right there in the tiny excuse of a lobby. There not even 10 minutes and are mumbled something by the person behind the counter. I said nah we've been helped were just waiting for a seat. She said if you could wait outside. I stared at her n said "what! You're kicking us out?!" She gives BS excuse that's what they ask all customers to do. Now I'm gonna say it's not there fault, it's their manager's and admin, the owners n CEOs fault. That right if you're listening management to make a limp cut n paste apology that you're sorry for our inconvenience and you strive to give everyone the best experience possible well I'm telling all potential customers no they do not! This is just a cash grab because they awkwardly shoved the facility into a locates not made for a sit down; no parking and no seats in lobby which means ceo SAW there would be demand cuz great food, not many seats. Small place, so naturally people would wait... and there would be NOWHERE for them to sit(except outside) in a place which averages 103 summers sometimes 110. Which was only made by the developers, not them, so if developers did NOT decide to build a lil sitting area waiting, guests would be out in heat directly under the sun! They made the CHOICE to go ahead with the project that would inconvenience every waiting... because their suffering is worth the money they'd get from a filled house. Cahs grab. I can't wait to go back! I went in on the grand opening day around 1pm and had a wonderful server, her name was JENNA. The food was great and Jenna was so genuine and nice. I was worried at first because, being an ex-server I noticed that the hosts sat Jenna about 5 times in a row, not even giving her a chance to leave the table she was at taking an order. Once she was done taking the order she made her way around to the 5 tables she was just sat, once she got to me, she had the friendliest greeting, I told her I noticed that she was sat back to back and she just chuckled and said "I know! everyone wants to sit over here" she didn't make it seem like she was too worried but I knew she had a lot of stuff to go do after she finished greeting me. But I was so impressed with her demeanor. She brought the drinks out, and took my order, refilled my water once it was half way and made it a point to make sure I knew she was there if I needed anything. I even heard the table behind me ask Jenna if she would want to leave and work for her. LOL I hope management takes care of their staff, especially Jenna, because if not someone else will! Also, because I am an ex server I think management should really consider working with the hosts on NOT quadruple seating servers there should be some type of a rotation to ensure Good customer service. Today wasn't my first time at this location but it was the first time I was impressed from start to finish. My hubby and I come here often and we really like it but today was the best experience we've had so far. My husband told me "it looks like it's finally working like a well oiled machine" and it was. Our sever was Adriana and she was great and the manager on duty was Jena. Jena greeted us at the door and once we were sat after about a 35 min wait she stopped by the table to see how everything was going and how the food tasted. We originally just told her "everything is great" but as my husband and I watched her and the staff work we wanted to make sure we said something. So we called her back over and told her how impressed we were. She was so sweet! She said it was one of the first few days being left alone to manage and that she was so happy to be complimented on her staff and herself. Usually the other times we come the manager is walking around looking down on the phone or tablet (probably work related) but this time Jenna was walking around, making eye contact and small conversation with almost every table. I asked for a plate while we waited for hers so we could share our food. Ordered biscuits and gravy but received a biscuit on the plate. They did bring it when asked. Asked for salsa when we placed the food order. Had to ask again later. If you order Chocolate Chip Pancakes, make sure to ask for double. My girls don't like syrup. I read the reviews before entering and was expecting a long wait, but we got sat immediately! our server(i am blanking on her name sadly) was very sweet and showed us wonderful hospitality. I ordered a burger that was cooked perfectly and french fries. the burger came with an egg on top and the bun was soooo good! Prices were just okay, it's what you'd expect from a popular brunch spot, but the food was excellent so we weren't upset. The atmosphere was also just okay, but the service was excellent and the food all came out quickly and everything was just how we ordered. I think next time i will try a breakfast item like the eggs benedict, because i saw the table next to us order it and it looked amazing. My family and I came in for a very nice and simple brunch, we had a party of 5 sat pretty quick. Please make not that the parking at this location can be limited so please arrive as a carpool or take note of the limited parking. The service was amazingly pleasant Vanessa our server was very sweet and attentive to our needs and was checking up on us every so often. Almost as we got seated we got drink orders as well as food taken care of. You tend to loose track of time as your talk with family that before you know it food arrives. Amazingly fun!, on the note of the food I got a more sweeter meal, so expect the sweetness to be taken to a new level (I'm not a sweet consumer, so I got sweetened out really quickly). We decided to go out to breakfast to the broken yolk on a friends recommendation. The food was excellent I had the El fuego omelette my wife had the spicy vegan breakfast bowl and our daughter had egg whites, homefries and a blueberry muffin. Everything tasted amazing came out hot and the blueberry muffin was fresh warm and delicious! My daughter did not care for the homefries because she was expecting a more crisp version but I did not mind them with hot sauce they did lack flavor! Service I cannot emphasize enough how diligent, friendly and amazingly efficient they all were which in my opinion makes or breaks a place no matter how amazing the food is! I visited Broken Yolk Café for brunch to treat myself after a rough day. I ordered two types of Eggs Benedict and they were both disappointing. The eggs were overcooked, and the hollandaise sauce was cold to the touch. The waitress kindly offered to have it remade, which I appreciated. However, when the new plate arrived, it was delivered with noticeable attitude by someone from the kitchen. Unfortunately, the second attempt wasn't any better--hash browns were undercooked, and the eggs were so underdone that the whites were still runny. I'm not sure why the cooks seemed offended by the request, but perhaps if the dish was prepared correctly the first time, this could've been avoided. I've enjoyed brunch at other Broken Yolk locations, but this one could use an attitude adjustment and more skilled kitchen staff. read more

We came on Friday morning. We have been hearing about this place for a while now. We had to wait a few to get in , but it was so worth the wait. We were greeted by our server Shannon. She offered us all kinds of yummy drinks and had awesome suggestions because we told her it was our first time here. She was extremely helpful. We started off with the avocado toast. Yumm! My husband had an omelet. And I had the eggs Benedict. They had so Many kinds. I chose the original. The food was great. and Shannon continued to be consistent with her service, checking in on us and seeing if we needed refills. The food was great , but I feel the customer service was what really sealed the deal for us ! We will be back again for sure ! We will be asking for Shannon to help us. On the positive side, there was no wait, and we received a warm welcome from the host and server. However, my disappointment began with the Golden State Eggs Benedict - the poached eggs were severely overcooked, resembling hard-boiled eggs, and the grilled tomato was served as cold, uncooked slices. Even the hollandaise sauce was chilled. My wife ordered the Belgian waffle sandwich with hash browns, finding it merely okay, far from amazing. To make matters less satisfying, her Bloody Mary was notably weak and it was garnished with a sad wilted celery stick with discolored leaves. I had a breakfast burrito with home fries that were cooked and seasoned to perfection. My MIL has the lumberjack breakfast and raved about her bacon and hash browns. My mother was very pleased with her kids' French toast. We were greeted at the door by a lovely young gentleman who allowed us to pick our table and joked with us as he guided us to it and passed out our menus. Our waitress was an absolute love and chatted with us as she bounced from table to table. It was busy but we still felt like we were well cared for and made to feel like regular customers! The restaurant itself was very clean and had a light atmosphere. The outdoor seating area was well kept and pretty full with customers by the time we left. You could tell that many people loved coming here and if I'm ever in the area again for something, I will DEFINITELY be back!

Still a solid place after visiting so many years. Decor and service were great. Luckily we came in early and the staff was on it so we didn't run into a big problem. Food was fantastic. I think the chicken Madeira, avocado egg roll and steak Diane were our favorite. We usually find ourselves seated in this area, but we love coming to this location, so I don't mind. I have no qualms with the service, or the food, but I would like to mention that last week, and two other occasions - I've heard shouting/screaming coming from the kitchen. And I don't mean in the "it's so loud in here I can't hear myself think, so I'll raise my voice" kind of way. It was literally a man shouting in what could be described as angry tones. Now I didn't know what's going on or why it was happening, and I usually mind my own business. But on the other two occassions where I did nothing, the most recent time I was curious. I did a small pass-by towards the restroom and I saw this Asian man with glasses who I suppose is one of the chefs/cooks. Whether his shouting was justified or not, I don't really expect Cheesecake Factory to be Hell's Kitchen. It gave me and my friend bad vibes knowing he was screaming at the people making our food. There's got to be a better way to make that environment feel safe and less toxic and still serve the great dishes we had. If it was a one-off, I'd chalk it up to him being extra diligent about food quality, but to hear it on three separate times I've dined in (not all the time), and the tone he takes is disrespectful of your fellow employees and personally, if it was me being talked to that way, I would have brought it to my HR - no matter how good a cook he was. Just needed to let you know that this was happening in your location, if you weren't already aware. Or if you were, something should be done to make the environment better for employees and your patrons like me who have been unwittingly subjected to a tirade. Other than that and the usual wait time, I always enjoy eating here.
