Stopped by Broken Yolk Cafe while staying in the Gaslamp District, and the location couldn't have been more convenient, an easy, beautiful walk from our hotel. We sat outside, which made for a great start to the day. Our waitress was awesome, very attentive and checked in right on time without being overbearing. We come here every year after the hot chocolate run. It's always a good experience. We get seated right away, the servers are always very nice and gove great service. I'm a very one dimensional when it comes to breakfast. Scramble eggs with cheese and a side of bacon. The bacon is always crispy and well done. The broken yellow was a short joint from the telly, and even shorter wait for my table. Service was good, and the vibe was definitely viben'. The food was OK, my potatoes could've been done a little more crispy, and even though I asked for them that way they didn't come that way, but I pushed through. Overall, really nice staff here. My coffee was piping hot and bottomless! I had the classic French toast with bacon and eggs and I was satisfied. I did try to place the order over the phone but they don't take the birthday reward over the phone, only take credit card. It looked super busy at first but tables cleared fast and our party of 2 for seated within 5 minutes of waiting during brunch hour.
