After reading all the reviews (one of the most highly reviewed restaurants on the island) I forced my family to get some pants on and zoom over to Zuniga. I was worried as we approached on the burrito shack that it was going to be closed because we were nearing the 11 o'clock mark. We placed our orders with 2 ladies who literally cooed at my daughter while I placed my order and I can always appreciate compliments about my child. Before I had a chance to sit down our order was ready and it was time to go. My first though was "how the heck am I supposed to eat this whole thing!" it was soo huge I had to determine if it was worth de-hinging my jaw to try this monster. It was sinfully worth it. This is the true restaurant of my childhood. Growing up in Galveston was amazing, but building a relationship with the wonderful family that owns this establishment has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. The owners take such pride in their food, and in their customer service. Of course, when you have regulars who've been coming in for more than 20 years you know how to take care of them! This place is ALWAYS hopping! Although this place seems like a forgotten hole in the wall the staff is efficient and capable of handling the crowds. I have never waited more than 5 minutes. Your food is fresh and hot and I highly recommend the breakfast burritos. The prices seemed high at first but when my food came I had no complaints. You may pay $4 per burrito but they are huge. If you have an appetite go for the bronco burrito you will NOT be disappointed. The chorizo was also delicious. My tolerance level is low but I would say beware of the salsa it is a little spicy. This place does some good business. It was pretty packed with people either waiting for their burritos, or sitting at one of the dozen tables on offer. I went with the carne guisade burrito (they were out of Barbacoa) with potatoes and cheese, and wifey just got cheese and beans. The potatoes were in perfect pan fried little blocks and the cheese was enough without being OTT. The carne guisada was pretty flavourful and real tender. Not giving 4 stars due to Tortillas being tough. They were extra big but very tough although they "looked" homemade. I ordered Barbacoa plate and that was very good, it was moist and superb flavor. Burrito paradise... Extra large Texas sized burritos with thick pancake style floor tortillas. The place is packed when it opens at 5am. Kind of a must do activity if visiting the island. Overall good, filling and cheap and possibly best on the island. But by far not the Top Burrito out there. Definitely not the King of Burritos. read more

I've been eating Bronco Burritos for 2 decades. They are so good and the perfect breakfast after a night out. They are popular and parking can sometimes be difficult. They have inside seating but I've only ever ordered to go. They also have other food but I've only ever eaten the Bronco Burrito. The staff is always very friendly. My only complaint is that they are closed on Sunday. That's the day I always want one, but I guess you always want what you can't get. read more

Best meal I've had in Galveston. I got the Huevos Rancheros with Chile on top. It was awesome!!! Very good authentic Mexican food. Everything here is wonderful, I say everything and I mean it because I've had everything on the menu. The bronco burrito is awesome, the Migas Alamex are the best I've had and I've tried a bunch of them! The bacon is cooked to perfection every time, thick and crispy like it's cooked with a flat iron and the best part is you can smell it a block away. The carne guisada is also the best on the planet. I normally don't rave about a place like this because when i read reviews like this i think they work there or something. Rest assured I do not work there and thankfully so, I'd probably weigh 500lbs. They open at 5am which really works for me being a shift worker, plus if you go anytime after that be prepared to wait because the word is out.
