Brookfields Restaurant is a small chain of three family owned and operated restaurants, that have been serving delicious "Americana" cuisine in the greater Sacramento area since 1981. Over the years, they have become a favorite of local diners who enjoy fine cuisine, served by friendly staff, in a welcoming, comfortable dining room. Lucky for me, one of the three restaurants is located on Taylor Road, in Roseville, CA. As you enter the restaurant, there is a welcoming counter, where you'll be greeted, and seated by a friendly staff member. On this early Tuesday morning, the restaurant was lightly seated - to say the least - so I simply walked up to the counter and grabbed a seat. The welcoming counter contains samples of some of the freshly baked goodies the restaurant is known for, along with a few of the many bottles of wine that are available. The restaurant has two dining rooms, separated by the entry way, with divides it, with makes for an interesting and unique layout. Both dining rooms are nearly identical, and provide for comfortable dining. From the "Sunrise Specialties" section of the breakfast menu, I went with "Chilie Verde Skillet." The menu advertises biscuit on the side, but toast or pancakes are offered, so I classically went with sourdough toast. Such a great breakfast! The "star" of the breakfast was the chili verde, but the "foundation" of the breakfast was a layer of diced, perfectly seasoned home style potatoes, fried to a golden brown on the outside, with the inside tender and juicy. I suspect the potatoes were seasoned with Brookfields' house seasoned salt... why not? Whatever the case, the potatoes were perfectly seasoned and made for a great start to this delicious skillet. Shredded and melted jack cheese was placed on top of the potatoes, which not only added taste, but it helped to keep each bite together. I also noted there was a small amount of green chili verde sauce on the potatoes and the cheese for added flavor. The "showcase" of this amazing breakfast was the diced, perfectly seasoned chili verde, which was placed on top of the bed of potatoes. The pork was juicy and tender, and the portion size was great, as with each bite of this delicious skillet, I was rewarded with a piece of pork. Two eggs, fried over easy as per my request topped the meat, potatoes and cheese, along with a helping of pico de gallo and a scoop of sour cream. The skillet was skillfully prepared by the talented kitchen staff, as with each bite, I was rewarded with a little bit of everything this fine breakfast had to offer. All of the ingredients worked together to make a truly delicious skillet, with a lot of Mexican influence and flavor. Muy sabroso! The menu lists this comes with a biscuit, but toast is an option, so I went with sourdough toast. My two pieces of toast were toasted, and coated with lots of melted butter. The toast included a little cup of strawberry jam, which I left behind, as I don't have a sweet tooth. The skillet and the toast worked together to make a delicious breakfast, which kept me happily fueled-up until dinner. It was definitely a respite from bacon and eggs, and maybe not for every taste, but especially with the Mexican influence, I loved this fine breakfast! I love the high ceilings and the elegant, yet "country" atmosphere the comfortable dining room offers. The food is delicious, the staff is super friendly, and the prices are reasonable. The fish and chips were really good. The service was nice. Good for families. The restaurant is not big, but the location is great- it's next to the Golfland Sunsplash place. Kids can go have fun at the golfland while the adults hang out with friends and enjoy the great food here! read more

Shannon is the best server. She was personable, attentive, and very patient when my toddler spilled her hot chocolate all over the booth. Our food came out quickly even the last minute order we put in was ready very shortly after. All the food was delicious and very good portion for the price. Shannon made sure our waters were always filled and the sodas were filled as well. It's not very often you get good service like we did tonight before they closed. Wife had French Dip and I had chicken enchiladas. First, they ASK YOU HOW YOU WANT IT COOKED. That's impressive. The au jus is not too salty. Yum The chicken enchiladas were not typical at all. They used a spaghetti like sauce along with Mornay which was weird because you expect different but it was really good. They had pico de gallo too. Refried beans were ok and the rice was great. White rice with cilantro. Had the strawberry cheesecake ice cream pie.... RUN TO THE RESTAURANT RIGHT NOW AND GET SOME. I am not a strawberry person really. It was spectacular. Great wait staff. Vinnie could not have been more delightful but we were talked to by other wait staff. You know it's a good restaurant when the wait staff are always in a good mood. I cannot even begin to rate our experience at the Roseville Brookfields last night. If I could give a 10 I would. The service was perfect, Donny is an amazing server. He ensured we wanted for nothing, and the young lady who delivered our food was very kind and helpful. We also met with the manager who was very gracious as well. The atmosphere, the food, and the service was far above the norm of where my family usually goes to and it was a welcome change! Shannon (our server) was the nicest person I have met in the food industry, and she was honestly the best server I have ever had. If this restaurant was closer to home I'd go every other week! We came in for breakfast and I had the Western Skillet, which was hearty and satisfying. I shared half with my husband, who ordered the tuna melt. He mentioned it had more mayo than he prefers, but it was still a solid meal. We were seated quickly, but service was slow. We were told the waiters were sharing our section, and hardly anyone came by. We ended up going to the bar area just to ask for refills and anything else we needed, the girl behind the bar was nice and apologetic. What we thought would be a quick lunch turned into an 2 hour-long visit. Still, the food was good and my husband is already talking about coming back when they have clam chowder on the menu. My wife and I both appreciate Brookfields very much. They are family oriented, as highlighted by the decor. There are old family pictures throughout the facility which makes for a warm and homey feel. They make all their food from scratch; everything always tastes great, and the presentation of the food is always pleasing. Last night was no different, the food was good; it might have been even better if it had been served a little sooner. Both the soup and entree I ordered had that film that develops as it sits under a heat lamp, and the temperature of both was not nearly hot enough. Our server was busy, but it wasn't that busy.... My water glass dried up a couple of times and should have been refilled much sooner. Overall though, we had a nice time. I'm sure we'll be back. read more

This is a place we have passed by amd seen from interstate for 8 years and always said we have to try. We picked up the grandkids this morning and they wanted breakfast and we agreed as long as we could pick. From the moment we drove up the place was busy but the parking lot is spacious and the parking spots are not tiny and crammed. We were seated right away. There is a main waitress but we were taken care of as there are other helpers coming and going in-between. I asked right away for coffee. Just a regular cup of coffee was brought out but when I opened the menu I saw that there was a full coffee bar. I had the best vanilla latte ever. We all ordered food. It was all excellent and came out fast. My granddaughter was excited because she got to substitute her hash-browns for tater-tots. My husband was able to order a hamburger during breakfast so he was happy too. But all I want to express is how fabulous the scones are. They even sell them by the dozen. I cannot believe l've passed this place so many times and didn't know the best dang scones were sitting there waiting for me. Today I had the coconut cream scone. My husband tried it and immediately ordered on for himself. We drive past here no less than three times a week and let me tell you it's our new stop. I love Brookfields. They are the perfect place for home-cooked large portion meals. I work by the one in Rancho and frequent it often but have never been to the Roseville location. We were seated quickly, and our server was attentive and friendly. I asked about the sandwich since it was a new menu item and she said it's popular and many people like it. I preferred the onion rings over my melt. The rye bread was pretty overpowering & the meat with grilled onions had zero taste. My boyfriend got the corned beef hash & it was pretty terrible. My wife and I have traditionally liked this restaurant. Had been going for years prior to COVID and this week went to the Roseville location. Nice, clean restaurant as we have always remembered. Our breakfast was what we typically order and prices had doubled...literally. When the food arrived it was barely warm. My husband and I stopped here for breakfast today and had great service but very mediocre food. I ordered the açaí bowl and he ordered biscuits and gravy. This was our second visit to Brookfields. The first was for breakfast which was great. The service and food were great as was the ambiance. We just went tonight 2/3/26 to try dinner. Again, our server was exceptional, the food was great. My wife had the salmon and I had the chicken fried steak. The timing of service for the drinks, breads, salads, and entree was perfect.
